ClassCastException at Proxy

We are getting this exception at our proxy server!!!. My understanding is proxy is just a pass through so it should not serialize and de-serialize. So not sure why i get this. Is this complaining with some coherence internal object de-serialize? also what is suspicious is why it says Id=null in the following exception stack trace? What does that Id stand for?
20100514 11:22:08.681 EDT Coherence SEVERE: 2010-05-14 11:22:08.680/2968.612 Oracle Coherence GE 3.5.2/463 <Error> (thread=Proxy:ExtendTcpProxyService:TcpAcceptor, member=11): An exception occurred while decoding a Message for Service=Proxy:ExtendTcpProxyService:TcpAcceptor received from: TcpConnection(Id=null, Open=true, LocalAddress=10.56.59.136:9992, RemoteAddress=10.56.59.137:60005): java.lang.ClassCastException: com.tangosol.io.pof.PortableException cannot be cast to com.tangosol.util.UUID

I have a similar issue. The landscape is as follows: .NET client feeds the proxy, proxy feeds the grid. The java side has some Invocation code as well. No custom objects - just strings are passed around and cached.
Now here is the issue. If I disable POF on the java side, all the java code runs including the invocations services. But if I enable the POF on the proxy to allow .NET to connect, it all goes to hell. It all wants to be POF enabled and my invocation service agent is raising an exception about "*unknown user type*". Its an agent, what does it want with POF.
My .NET code is also only caching a string object so i don't understand why custom POF is needed. Is there any way to get around all this without using POF on the java or .net side??

  • ClassCastException while copying a resource

    Hi All,
           I have a customRespositorymanager, where I have implemented the method copyResource in my NamespaceManager. When I perform a copy operation
    on a resource, I get a ClassCastException error.
    The full stacktrace is given below.
    But strangely enough,when I refresh the page,
    the resource is actually copied to the
    destination folder. Any idea why the UI
    is throwing this ClassCastException?

    Make sure that you are using non-xa datasources and in DBAdapter outbound connection pool configuration provide the data source JNDI in "dataSourceName" property instead of "xADataSourceName" property. Update the DBAdapter after changing configuration.

  • Using a Deployable Proxy in a Web Dynpro Application

    Hi,
    We have a Web Dynrpo application whose model is built from a set of Java business objects (POJOs.)  These Java business objects currently make calls to a back-end R/3 system using JCo.  We would like to provide the ability to allow the calls to be made over Web Services to the back-end system.
    To call the RFMs as web services we have created a Deployable Proxy project, added the proxy as a public part, then referenced that public part in the web dynpro application.  At this point we can write code to call the web service that looks something like:
    InitialContext ctx = new InitialContext();
    Object serviceObject = ctx.lookup("wsclients/proxies/meridium.com/rcmo~proxies/com.meridium.rcmo.ws.proxies.plants.PlantProxy");
    Z_MRDM_GET_PLANTSService service = (Z_MRDM_GET_PLANTSService)ctx.lookup("wsclients/proxies/meridium.com/rcmo~proxies/com.meridium.rcmo.ws.proxies.plants.PlantProxy");
    Z_MRDM_GET_PLANTSPortType port = service.getLogicalPort();
    Z_MRDM_GET_PLANTS plantParameter = new Z_MRDM_GET_PLANTS();
    plantParameter.setI_PLANTID(id);
    plantParameter.setI_PLANTNAME(name);
    Z_MRDM_GET_PLANTSResponse response = port.z_MRDM_GET_PLANTS(plantParameter);
    MT001W[] plantArray = response.getET_PLANTS();
    The problem is that when I call looup to retrieve the service implementation I get a ClassCastException.
    The tutorials for using a proxy in web dynpro all assume that the web service is what the model is based upon but that's not possbile for our scenario we need to call the proxy from the business objects which are the basis for our model.
    According to the help documentation for consuming a deployable proxy in a JSP page:
    <a href="http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw2004s/helpdata/en/2d/b9766df88f4a24967dae38cb672fe1/frameset.htm">http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw2004s/helpdata/en/2d/b9766df88f4a24967dae38cb672fe1/frameset.htm</a>
    It discusses adding JNDI mappings.  Is this what's needed for the reference to work in a Web Dypro application too?  If so, how would one add the JNDI mappings references to a Web Dynpro application?
    Many thanks!

    Hi Dheeram,
    I'm not certain about JSPDynpage specifically, but in a general J2EE Enterprise Application project you can add a reference to the application-j2ee-engine.xml file.  For example here's the content of an application-j2ee-engine.xml file that references a proxy:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <!DOCTYPE application-j2ee-engine SYSTEM "application-j2ee-engine.dtd">
    <application-j2ee-engine>

  • HELP: Error while consuming Web Service: ClassCastException

    Hi,
    I am trying to consume a web service that I deployed on Tomcat/Axis. Any guideline will be helpful. I generated stubs using WSDL2Java utility from Axis. The method I am trying to call is getFibo(), which returns an object FiboHolder. Unfortunately everytime it is throwing ClassCastException. I have couple of other methods in the service that returns int and int[] and both works fine. Could anyone please help why I am not able to consume the service when it is returning the object FiboHolder but works fine when I consume other methods of the service that returns int or int[]?
    Following is my client code:
        FibonacciService service =  new FibonacciServiceLocator();
        FibonacciSoapBindingStub stub = (FibonacciSoapBindingStub) service.getfibonacci(new URL("http://localhost:8080/axis/services/fibonacci"));
        // Now use the service to get a stub to the service
        FiboHolder fibHold = stub.getFibo();  //code errors out at runtime here
        System.out.println(fibHold.getFibo1());Following is the error message I get:
    org.apache.axis.AxisFault: java.lang.ClassCastException
    AxisFault
    faultCode: {http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/}Server.userException
    faultSubcode:

    Thanks,

    Hi all,
    Please throw some light into this issue i am getting the following exception.
    com.sap.engine.services.webservices.jaxm.soap.accessor.NestedSOAPException: Problem in server response: Proxy Authentication Required.
    I have given the proxy settings in the com.sap.portal.ivs.httpservice  in the portal and also
    defined a proxy server in the Visual Administrator under Services -> Webservice Container -> HTTP Proxy Server
    I am calling service in the following manner.
    IPortalRuntimeResources runtime = PortalRuntime.getRuntimeResources();
       IService service = runtime.getService(IWS_P_Service.KEY);
       IWS_P_Service ws_service = (IWS_P_Service)service;
        Volumes from = new Volumes(Volumes.VOLUMES_KILOLITER_VALUE);
        Volumes to = new Volumes(Volumes.VOLUMES_LITER_VALUE);
        ChangeVolumeUnit cvu = new ChangeVolumeUnit(1200,from,to);
        // working upto here
         response.write("working");
         ChangeVolumeUnitResponse cvu_res = ws_service.ChangeVolumeUnit(cvu);
         double result = cvu_res.getChangeVolumeUnitResult();
         response.write(result+"");
    It is working upto "working".
    If any body has any solutions please post.
    Thanks

    Bug: BLZ-96 - When sending a HttpService request from ActionScript with multiple headers with the same name, it causes a ClassCastException in the server
    QA: Yes - try again with legacy-collection true and false.
    Doc: No
    Checkintests: Pass
    Details: Another try in fixing this bug. When legacy-collection is false, Actionscript Array on the client becomes Java Array on the server and my fix yesterday assumed this case. However, when legacy-collection is true, Actionscript Array becomes Java ArrayList on the server. So added code to handle this case.

    Hi all!
    Just to post the solution to this if anyone ever runs accross this thread...
    For some reason i had it bad the first time, don't have time right now to see why but here is what worked for me:
    HashMap primaryFile = new HashMap();
    primaryFile.put("fileContent", bFile);
    primaryFile.put("fileName", uploadedFile.getFilename());
    operationBinding.getParamsMap().put("primaryFile", primaryFile);
    HashMap customDocMetadata = new HashMap();
    HashMap [] properties = new HashMap[1];
    HashMap customMetadataPropertyRoom = new HashMap();
    customMetadataPropertyRoom.put("name", "xRoom");
    customMetadataPropertyRoom.put("value", "SOME ROOM");
    properties[0] = customMetadataPropertyRoom;
    customDocMetadata.put("property", properties);
    operationBinding.getParamsMap().put("CustomDocMetaData", customDocMetadata);
    Basically an unbounded wsdl type is an array of objects (HashMaps), makes sense, i thought i had it like this before, must have messed up somewhere...
    Good luck all!

  • NW 7.0 EHP1 DestinationService java.lang.ClassCastException

    Hi,
    I am trying to set up an RFC Connection in the SAP Enterprise Portal using the RFCDestinationsService on NetWeaver 7.0 EHP1.
    I have previously done this in NW 6.2 but it seems that the implementation on the SAP JCO has changed in NW 7.0
    The code I am using:
    import java.util.Properties;
    import javax.naming.InitialContext;
    import javax.naming.NamingException;
    import com.sap.mw.jco.JCO;
    import com.sap.mw.jco.JCO.Exception;
    import com.sap.security.core.server.destinations.api.DestinationException;
    import com.sap.security.core.server.destinations.api.DestinationService;
    import com.sap.security.core.server.destinations.api.RFCDestination;
         JCO.Client jcoClient = null;
         RFCDestination dst = null;
         DestinationService dstService = null;
         InitialContext ctx = new InitialContext();
         Thread.currentThread().setContextClassLoader(getClass().getClassLoader());
         Object obj = ctx.lookup(DestinationService.JNDI_KEY_LOCAL);
         dstService = (DestinationService) obj;
    At this point the Cast to the DestinationService throws a ClassCastException.
    Can anyone point me in the right direction to overcome this.
    Many thanks,

    Hi Anyone Struggling With This,
    I have found a solution. I had a look in Visual Administrator at the implementation of the JNDI Registry in NW 7.01 and found that it is substantially different to NW 6.40.
    Anyone with access to both systems will see what I mean.
    Anyway DestinationService.JNDI_KEY_LOCAL returns a reference to tcsecdestinationsservicelocal which returns the class com.sap.security.core.server.destinations.services.LocalDestinationServiceImpl. And that causes the ClassCastException.
    The JNDI Registry in NW 7.01 also has a reference to tcsecdestinationsserviceremote referring to a class com.sap.engine.interfaces.cross.ObjectReferenceImpl. That class returns a $Proxy object and does not throw an Exception.
    The code that works (for me) is
         Object obj = ctx.lookup("tcsecdestinationsserviceremote");
         DestinationService dstService = (DestinationService) obj;
    and away you go.
    I hope this helps someone else struggling with this issue.
    Cheers,
    Neil.

  • ClassCastException X509CertificateImpl

    Hello all,
    I am getting a weird error in 9i release 2. I have a jsp page that calls a cold fusion web page over https, and reads the data found there. My code is as follows:
    String urlString = /*https URL here*/
    java.security.Security.addProvider(new com.sun.net.ssl.internal.ssl.Provider());
    System.setProperty("https.proxyPort","8080");
    System.setProperty("https.proxyHost","ssl-proxy-pen.cnet.navy.mil");
    System.setProperty("javax.net.ssl.trustStore","client.keystore"); System.setProperty("javax.net.ssl.trustStorePassword","changeit");
    System.setProperty("java.protocol.handler.pkgs","com.sun.net.ssl.internal.www.protocol");
    URL url = new URL(urlString);
    URLConnection conn_c = url.openConnection();
    HttpURLConnection conn = (HttpURLConnection)conn_c;
    conn.setDoOutput(true);
    conn.setRequestMethod("POST");
    InputStream stream = conn.getInputStream();
    BufferedReader in = new BufferedReader(new InputStreamReader(stream));
    String line = "";
    String valid = "";
    while( (line = in.readLine()) != null){
    valid = line;
    in.close();
    This seems to work fine, but the jsp is crashing sometimes with the error: java.lang.ClassCastException: oracle.security.cert.X509CertificateImpl at the line of code where I open the InputStream from the connection. Once this starts, only an opmnctl stopall and startall seem to fix this error. Once this is working, it seems to continue working correctly for quite a while (a few days at least). We have other systems that use the same code, and they don't seem to suffer from this problem, does anyone have any idea what is configured incorrectly to cause this?
    Thanks in advanced,
    Kevin Scott

    The solution was to delete every ".adf" directory and adf-config.xml and adfm.xml that is contained in the workspace directory.

  • JAAS Login Module using Deployable Web Service proxy

    Hi,
    We've created a JAAS Login Module that calls a deployable web service proxy to validate users on Netweaver Portal 2004 SP19. To do this the following steps were taken:
    1) created a deployable web proxy named 'SGU_proxy' and uploaded it to server. This project created 2 files: 'SGU_proxy.ear' (the one uploaded) and 'SGU_proxyClientAPI.jar'.
    2) created a Java project named 'AgregacaoLoginModule' with a single class to authenticate users, this is the class that calls the web service with the username and password. This project references the deployable web proxy project (Properties > Java Build Path > Projects > checkbox marked next to project SGU_proxy).
    3) exported the Java project class, not including the 'SGU_proxyClientAPI.jar'.
    4) created a 'J2EE Server Component' > 'Library' project named 'AgregacaoLoginModuleJ2EE'.
    On the 'provider.xml' file added 2 jars: 'AgregacaoLoginModule.jar' and 'SGU_proxyClientAPI.jar'. References were made to the standard portal libraries. No references were made to the proxy 'SGU_proxy' or the 'AgregacaoLoginModule' project.
    The library was uploaded to the server, everything was ok and no errors were reported.
    The login module was configured on the server and is called when users try to acess Portal server.
    The problem is that when trying to authenticate users: after getting a reference to the proxy using jndi I get a ClassCastException. Note that this proxy is used in a WebDyn Pro application and is working fine.
    The web service client proxy generated the interface 'pt.agregacao.ws.sgu.Servicos' and from jndi I get 'class pt.agregacao.ws.sgu.ServicosImpl'. So this seems to be ok, why the exception?
    Is it necessary to had a reference to 'SGU_proxy' on the 'AgregacaoLoginModuleJ2EE' project? If so, how?
    Thanks in advance.

  • ClassCastException in CompositeAggregator.Parallel

    As you Tangosol folks have proved so useful lately, I have another conundrum :)
    I am using the Tangosol library of aggregators to run a parallel query across two distributed cache service members. The code I am running is as follows:
    cache.aggregate(
                   new EqualsFilter("isRejected", false),
                   GroupAggregator.Parallel.createInstance("getCcyPair",
                        CompositeAggregator.Parallel.createInstance(

                                  new Count(),
                                  new LongSum("getBalance")
    where I have confirmed that isRejected returns a boolean primitive and getBalance a long primitive.
    This appears to run fine on one node but across two nodes throws an exception:

  • Deployable proxy lookup problem

    Hello SAP Community, here is my issue:
    I need to access a web service in my web dynpro application, so I generated a deployable proxy from the wsdl file and deployed it to the server. I added the proxy's ClientAPI.jar to my web dynpro build path and tried to get its interface via jndi lookup, but I get a ClassCastException.
    The problem here is that when I look for my proxy in Visual Administrator's JNDI Registry, the class name is different from the one in Client API, as follows:
    JNDI Registry: ConsultaPadronServiceImpl
    Client API: ConsultaPadronService
    Debugging the code I can see that I get ConsultaPadronServiceImpl in my lookup, but when I try to do the casting to ConsultaPadronService I get the exception.
    Here is my code:
    try{
              InitialContext ctx = new InitialContext();
              Object obj = ctx.lookup("wsclients/proxies/sap.com/FonhapoWS/mx.gob.conavi.sap.ws.fonhapo.FonhapoProxy");
              ConsultaPadronService ser = (ConsultaPadronService)PortableRemoteObject.narrow(obj, ConsultaPadronService.class);
              port = (WsConsultaPadron)ser.getLogicalPort("WsConsultaPadronSoapHttpPort");
         }catch (Exception ex){
              IWDMessageManager msgMgr = wdComponentAPI.getMessageManager();
              msgMgr.reportException(ex.getMessage(), true);
    I really hope someone can help me out with this, I have already added the sharing reference to the proxy in my Web Dynpro project like <provider>/<EAR name> and still not working.
    Regards.

    Same issue here. did you resolve it?

  • PortableRemoteObject.narrow throws ClassCastException

    Hi Friends,
    I am trying to access home interface of a stateless session EJB from an Applet running in JRE 1.3.1 in IE. My EJB is running in WebLogic Server 6.1. I am getting a cast error while narrowing the remote home interface. My server and client are running on the same machine though they are in different JVMs. I was able to access this remote home interface in a simple test program running from command line.
    This session bean accesses other entity beans deployed in the same WebLogic server, if that has anything to do with it.
    Following is the error callstack:

    Any help in resolving this issue will be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,

    Hello
    I have same problem in Java Web Start.
    This Situation is same.
    I report the result of my investigation.
    I'm having a problem in lookup remote object when using JWS.
    My application runs normally in Java Application without JWS.
    I'm using BEA WebLogic Server 6.1.
    My application acts in EJB client application.
    But my application runs normally in WebLogic Server 6.0 and JWS.
    When I cast remote object to my interface, I encountered this kind of error.
    java.lang.ClassCastException
    at com.sun.corba.se.internal.javax.rmi.PortableRemoteObject.narrow
    at javax.rmi.PortableRemoteObject.narrow
    While using WebLogic Server 6.0, I include stub classes in my jar file.
    But in WebLogic Server 6.1, ejbc does not generate stub classes.
    WebLogic uses Dynamic proxy technology in JDK 1.3 for this purpose.
    So, EJB client conflict with sand box security policy...
    When I add the following line to javaws.policy file,
    my application runs without problem.
    permission java.io.SerializablePermission "enableSubstitution";
    Is everyone suffering from this kind of problem?
    Is this problem improved in the future?
    I need more information about this problem.
    I am not sure, this is specification.
    Thanks in advance
    Hiroki

  • Java Applet - Proxy - port 80

    Hi all,
    I'm a new user and i need your help.
    I made a web site that uses applet.
    This web site is perfectly if i using it from a internet connection without a proxy.
    With proxy, instead, i have a big problem: applet does not work.
    This problem is present also with a correctly configurated java VM for proxy setting.
    In java console i have this error (I submit the entire log), thanks to all:

    I was googling around to find out more about this issue and I found this:
    http://cxf.547215.n5.nabble.com/CXF-on-WebLogic-9-2-td554550.html
    it might provide you with some clues....
    in fact the weblogic.xml of the bea_wls_internal.war contains a reference to java.sun.com
    xmlns:j2ee="http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/j2ee"
    but I have no clue why it's actually trying all of a sudden to access the resource location indicated by the namespace... XML specifications are also very vague about the schemaLocation clause...
    Sorry for not being able to help more.

  • Toplink Proxy Authentication with 10.1.3 problem

    Hi,
    I'm are using Toplink Proxy Authentication in a JSF application with SessionFacade pattern and have implemented a preLogin() method of oracle.itech.pil.utils.PILSessionEventManager (which implements SessionEventListener) as described in
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/ias/toplink/doc/1013/main/_html/dblgcfg008.htm. Due to Class Loader problem while loading of SessionEventManager, I'm explicitly loading the Class by doing this:
    try {
    Thread.currentThread().getContextClassLoader().loadClass("oracle.itech.pil.utils.PILSessionEventManager");
    catch(Exception exp) {
    System.out.println("Exception while loading class oracle.itech.pil.utils.PILSessionEventManager "+exp.toString());
    The SessionEventManager is loaded by doing this:
    session.getEventManager().addListener(new PILSessionEventManager());
    (Encountered while using <event-listener-class>oracle.itech.pil.events.PILSessionEventManager</event-listener-class> in sessions.xml file, so removed and added the same using session.getEventManager().addListener(new PILSessionEventManager()) )
    But now, I'm encountering ClassCastException during the login to my application
    The below pasted exception (oracle.oc4j.rmi.OracleRemoteException: java.lang.ClassCastException: oracle.itech.pil.utils.PILSessionEventManager) is coming when invoking line (Login)session.readObject(oracle.itech.pil.model.Login.class, expression);
    Code :
    XMLSessionConfigLoader xmlLoader =
    new XMLSessionConfigLoader("META-INF/sessions.xml");
    SessionManager sessionMgr = SessionManager.getManager();
    DatabaseSession session =
    (DatabaseSession)sessionMgr.getSession(xmlLoader, "serverSession",
    SessionFacadeEJBBean.class.getClassLoader());
    // Set Listener through Java code
    //session.getEventManager().addListener(new PILSessionEventManager());
    new PILSessionEventManager();

    if (expression != null) {

    //login = (Login)session.readObject(oracle.itech.pil.model.Login.class, expression);
    login =(oracle.itech.pil.model.Login) (session.readAllObjects(oracle.itech.pil.model.Login.class, expression)).get(0);

    Any clue why this error, which i am facing since 10 days to complete my task
    Thanks In Advance
    Prashant

    James, what Venkat and Prashant are trying to do is something like this...
    1. If I connect to the DB using scott/tiger then in the preLogin method of the Toplink Session Listener class, the proxy user will connect using something like admin/welcome1 and in the database audit view, the name that shows up SHOULD BE that of admin and NOT of scott. This is called proxy authentication if it works fine.
    We developed the above scenario but in the audit logs, we still see scott instead of admin as the user who connected.
    2. This feature is available in the DB but our objective is to use it through TopLink
    Also see Toplink Proxy Authentication Not Working
    I hope I was able to explain the scenario clearly.
    Any help will be appreciated
    Regards,
    Amit
