Classes12.jar looking for ocijdbc8.dll instead of ocijdbc9.dll?

I have installed the client portion of Oracle 9 release 2 and written an EJB that uses the oci JDBC driver. I have no other oracle installation on my machine, so I only have the ocijdbc9.dll in my %ORACLE_HOME%\bin directory, not the ocijdbc8.dll.
The classes12.jar file (installed by the same installation mentioned above) is in my classpath.
The code throws an "UnsatisfiedLinkError: no ocijdbc8 in java.library.path". This does not make sense to me because it should be trying to load ocijdbc9.dll.
Please assist.
Andreas

Hi,
Thank you for your response, but I guess I should have been a little bit more specific. As mentioned, I installed oracle 9 release 2 client only and have no other oracle installation on my machine. I am working on my laptop with Windows XP Professional. The application server hosting my EJB's is Weblogic Server version 7.0. So I am NOT using OC4J. I am accessing an Oracle Database on a Tru64 UNIX box.
My EJB cannot create the connection because classes12.jar in my ORACLE_HOME\jdbc\lib which is in my classpath tries to load ocijdbc8.dll. Since I have only installed oracle9 release 2, should it not be looking for ocijdbc9.dll??? ocijdbc9.dll exists in ORACLE_HOME\bin. The classes12.jar was installed by the oracle9 release 2 client installation.
Please help me....
Regards,
Andreas

Does anybody know the solution to this problem??? I have opened the question on Oracle Technology Network with no luck.
    Andreas

    Hi,
I have found the problem... Even if I put the %ORACLE_HOME%\jdbc\lib\classes12.jar in front of my classpath it did not work... There was no classes12.zip in my classpath, however there was a classes12.zip in the weblogic700\server\lib directory which I renamed. Then it worked.

  • Inner jar looking for resources

I'm writing an application with a slightly complex jar structure like this:
    main_application.jar
    -- aux1.jar // located in a subdirectory with respect to main_app
    ---- aux1aux1.jar // located in a subdirectory with respect to aux1
    ---- aux1.aux2.jar
    ---- log4j.jar
    -- aux2.jar
    etc.
Now my problem is the following:
Let's assume that some class within aux1aux2.jar uses the Log4J logger which needs a config file which it expects on "the" classpath. I did several experiments to find out some systematic explanation but I didn't succeed so far.
    Now my two questions:
    1) What is the classpath the class Logger within log4j.jar actually uses? Is it the one of its own jar (which would mean that the config file must be placed besides log4j.jar; doesn't work, however) or the one of aux1 or even that of main_application?
    2) How can I find out the real class path used by any class within a jar? System.getProperty("java.class.path") obviously doesn't tell me the truth, since the class may find classes/resources which are not on that classpath and doesn't find classes which should be found using the indicated classpath. As far as I have seen, there is no possibility to ask the standard ClassLoader for that path...

    Hi,
many thanks for your hints. In the meantime I have tested my example, and it is now even able to find the log4j.xml resource file (there was a line of code missing, but this is not worthwhile in this context).
But two questions remain unanswered for me:
    1) You wrote that it doesn't matter what is in the class path of the (called) jars' manifests. But the class loader still has to find the jars for the called classes, since these jars are not contained in the main.jar's class path. This means that obviously there is an official class path (as returned by the System.getProperty method), and another class path or rather a stack of class paths used to find classes... ??Yes, it was my assumption that it doesn't matter, but I tried something similar to what you posted and I was wrong. It appears that any jar file that gets loaded and has a Class-Path in the manifest adds to the overall classpath of the application. In other words, for java -jar, the classpath is the main jar file plus all of the Class-Path entries in all of the manifests of the dependent jars.
    2) My example works well when I start it using java -jar ... But it doesn't work at all when I'm starting it in my IDE (Eclipse b.t.w.) even if I put the log4j.xml file in the directory where Main.class resides. Despite the fact that this location is the very first entry of the class path (and Log4J says that you have to put the config file in a location that is on the class path)! Are there " a first class" class path and a "second class" class path ;-)) ?
Do you have any suggestions of where to look for solutions? Apparently the ClassLoader interface doesn't provide any information about its real class path being used...?
Sorry, I can't help with IDE. It isn't clear to me whether you have a problem you need to solve or if you are trying to understand how things work. If you have a specific problem to solve, it might be a good idea to post what that problem is - there might be someone who has a solution.
What I mean is, there is an implication that you have some problem and you think that you need the running Classpath in order to solve that problem. There might be a solution other than using the Classpath.

  • I keep getting an error message when trying to download i tunes. It says it's looking for MSVCR80.dll and I find it on my computer so I don't know what else to do. Any suggestions?

I keep getting an error message when trying to download itunes. It says it can't find "msvcr80.dll, but when I search for it on my computer it is there. My itunes was working just fine before I got the message to download the latest upgrade. I've not had any problems doing that before now, so don't really know what to do.

Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features (later)
Remove all of these items in the following order:
    iTunes
    Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support (if this won't uninstall move on to the next item)
    Bonjour
    Apple Application Support
Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.
The uninstall and reinstall process will preserve your iTunes library and settings, but ideally you would back up the library and your other important personal documents and data on a regular basis. See this user tip for a suggested technique.
    Please note:
Some users may need to follow all the steps in whichever of the following support documents applies to their system. These include some additional manual file and folder deletions not mentioned above.

  • Looking for pcMotion32.dll - National Instruments ValueMotion stepper motion controller

Hi, my Valuemotion stepper motor controller driver uses the pcMotion32.dll interface for win32. I know this interface is rather old, and it is hard to find the driver. Anyone happen to have any information for this driver? My search on NI site as well as google have been futile.

ValueMotion is obsolete but you still can download the driver from http://www.ni.com/downloads.
Here is the direct link to the latest driver version (5.0.2). Please note that there is no Windows XP support for ValueMotion.

When I run RoboHELP 7.0.3 I get a dialog box stating, "This application has failed to start because CWDLL32.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem." I completely uninstalled and reinstalled the app, same thing. Any ideas?

If the copy of PSE you are running is in Non Membership mode, then there will be no change in ems.dll. If only you are using the membership services then the .dll will get updated.
In the former case, only the security vulnerability issue of one of the services will be fixed and the only place the fix will be recorded is inside the registry editor where the PSE version will change from 7.0 to 7.0.0.3 at following hive:
    HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\{CB6075.....}\
I am not aware of Secunia is performing the check.

  • Looking for firmware update instead replacing hardware!

I have bought lenovo g500 laptop and windows 7 x64 installation cd but unfortunately I encountered problems with internet worm attack obviously because I didn't install any software except necessary drivers, internet browsers etc.My PC is acting with delay on opening programs,I even can't complete system restore.I did two reinstalls of OS but the PC works well only with install interface and all is like that untill I connect internet. So I think there is a downloader-program inserted into some hardware chip firmware. Is there any chance a skilled member on the forum can help me.

It sounds like you got hit by a root kit.  This will take some effort to fix, but there is a few things to try.  First thing to do is reset the BIOS by removing AC power and Battery, then press and hold the power key for 30 seconds.  Replace battery then AC adapter.
    Once BIOS defaut process completes:
Download and run Malwarebytes Anti Rootkit  Link to download page (english)
    Unpack to desktop, run program.
When the scan completes, quarentine all malware found, then let it reboot the computer.
Repeate as needed until clean blil of health.
Once completed, slect tools and run Fix Damage app.
Once this has completed, download and install  AVAST Free, register (no cost) and pull in latest updates.  Download and run CCleaner as well.  Also handy to have on hand is Malwarebytes Free, an ondemand Malware scan and removal tool - think penecillin shot.
    Good luck.

  • Oracle jdbc driver class and classes12.jar whether deprecated.?

    Hi All,
    1. In one of the post, it has been told that oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver will be deprecated and also recommended to used oracle.jdbc.OracleDriver.
According to that post, I changed the driver class name in my code as below:
    Class.forName("oracle.jdbc.OracleDriver");
Then to check the driver name, I insert the below code:
    Enumeration<Driver> driverEnum = DriverManager.getDrivers();
    +while (driverEnum.hasMoreElements()){+
    System.out.println("driver : "driverEnum.nextElement());+
    +}+
    Below is the output:
    driver : oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver@addbf1
Even after specifying the driver class name to be used as oracle.jdbc.OracleDriver, why it is taking oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver..?

  • How to instruct Acrobat to search for dependent DLLs in plugins subfolder

My plugin has a few DLL dependencies that cannot be located using the standard windows location, and I am not able to statically link them at present.  Acrobat can quite happily load dependent DLLs that are located in the plugins folder, but not so in sub-folders from the plugins folder.  This seems a little strange, as I can put my plugin dll (.api) in there and Acrobat can load it from there.  How do I resolve this situation?  Is there a way (without altering the windows path) to have Acrobat look for dependent DLLs in the plugin subfolders where the .api is located?  I guess I could convert everything to loadlib, but I'd really prefer not to.
    Thanks
    Simon

    Hi
If it's greyed out, either the plug-in is missing, the preference file is possibly corrupt, or this is another example of how Adobe expresses its version of "creativity" on the Mac platform.
Tongue-in-cheek aside, I don't have CS3, so I can only speculate here. Other than the possible missing plug-in, or preference file corruption, I wonder if installing Adobe Reader frees up the greyed area via Reader's preference file?

  • Why is LV searching my entire hard drive for IBFS32.DLL?

My computer was bogged down this morning so I ran Process Monitor to find out what was going on.  I found that LabVIEW 8.6 is looking for IBFS32.DLL and searching my entire hard drive.  I searched with Windows Explorer and that file does not exist on my PC.  Currently I have a LV project open along with several VI's.  This has been going on for several hours now.  Does anyone know how to resolve this?

Out of curiosity I took a look at the startup for a clean install of 8.6 that I have. I saw entries in ProcessMonitor where that specific DLL was being sought. The entries seemed to be in the neighborhood of the license manager, so it seems perfectly harmless. Perhaps you have a problem with your license manager service?

Your applet appears to be asking for https:// protocol security.
Is there a certificate should be in your localhost server and https enabled and supported
(the applet continually asks for "https protocol" types of information and your using standard http)?
Other protocols for such use are ssl:// and tls://
Dependent the server configuration you may or may not require the port number on the end of the domain
    e.g. something like.
    ssl://mydomain.com:443 or https://mydomain.com:8080 or tls://mydomain.com:989
And be sure there program if its an extra such as ssl:// has its service started.

I am using InDesign CS5 to create a book with over 900 images.  For the original book setup, .jpg images were used.  For the final, higher quality .psd versions are being used.  Is there a way that I can tell InDesign to look for the same image names, but in the format .psd instead of .jpg?

Brilliant, thank you!  Forums win again!
If it had a choice to include subfolders, that would be even better, but this will work for me.
    Thanks again!
EDIT:  The "Relink File Extention" option, directly below the "Relink to Folder" option, is exactly what I needed.   Cheers and thank you!
