Classpath and property problem in services

Hi, all,
I've had a number of problems getting the Stockquote example to run properly. This seems to be due to a problem that services don't get either classpaths or properties when they start.
The first manifestation of this problem came when the proxySet, proxyHost, and proxyPort environment variables weren't getting set properly in class services.stockquote.Stockquote. The symptom was that url.openStream () timed out because the proxy was not set correctly.
The second symptom comes when"JavaPort" is used as the port on the client. Despite every attempt I've made to put services.stockquote.Stockquote on the classpath, URLClassLoader will not find this class. However, a call to Class.forName("services.stockquote.Stockquote") in Main.java, just before the bottom of the stack, works! It works in both the client and the server!
So, could someone please tell me why the classpath and properties are getting shucked, and how to get them right?
I'm on Windows 2000 :p using JDK 1.3.1 and Tomcat 4.0.
Thanks,
- Steve.

Vivek, I think this belongs in a different thread. Also you'll need to say what problems you're having.
The only thing that definitely needs to be changed about the example is that the service may fail if it's run behind a proxy server. You'll need to set the following System properties:
System.setProperty("proxySet", "true");
System.setProperty("proxyHost", "your.proxy.com");
System.setProperty("proxyPort", <your proxy port>");
If this isn't done you'll get an exception like the following:
Exception in thread "main" com.ibm.wsif.WSIFException: SOAP Fault:SOAP-ENV:Server Exception from service object: Operation timed out: connect
-S.

  • NJawin: User32 and property problems

    Hi everybody, especially Vitaly Shelest ;)
    I'm using latest NJawin (1.1.31) and jsdk1.4.2 for wrapping some DLLs. It works, but there are several problems:
    1) When null and "" (empty strings) are passes in IDispatch property put methods for String properties, there is an exception thrown;
    2) HelloJava sample from Jawin distribution won't work. It ends with
    Exception in thread "main" java.lang.OutOfMemoryError: requested -627650838 bytes
    It won't work with Jawin either.
    It's sad, but there is no source code available for NJawin. So I experience a little bit of helplessness =(
    Did anybody manage to create a window with NJawin WinAPI fuctions? Do you know any workarounds for String properties in IDispatch?

    Hi Vladimir,
    I have made a test: wrote COM server DLL with one property testString
    STDMETHODIMP CnjTest::get_testString(BSTR *pVal);
    STDMETHODIMP CnjTest::put_testString(BSTR newVal);and java code
    import NJAWINTESTLib.InjTest;
    import NJAWINTESTLib.njTest;
    import com.develop.jawin.COMException;
    public class jawinTest {
        public static void main(String[] args) throws COMException {
            InjTest obj = new InjTest(njTest.clsID);
            obj.settestString(new String());
            String str = obj.gettestString();
            System.exit(0);
    }When the parameter in settestString is null njawin generates VARIANT type VT_NULL. This is wrong. If you want to path an empty string use new String() or "". This is equivalent to null and njawin will generate VARIANT with type VT_BSTR.

  • Classpath to long for NT service.

    I am running Weblogic 6.0 SP1 as a NT service. When I add my utility jar
    files needed for all of my applications to the classpath and install the NT
    service, the classpath is too long and the installation of the NT service
    fails. I thought putting my jar files in the weblogic lib directory
    eliminated the need to add them to the classpath, but this does not seem to
    work. Any suggestion?
    Thanks,

    Hi Pedro,
    here is my response (from the SAP problem ticket that you opened):
    You can always create a batch file (shell script file).
    To do this, create a file with a name you chose, e.g. "doit.sh". The
    first line of the file needs to be:
    #!/bin/sh
    Write your command then in the second line.
    Afterwards, go into QSH/QP2TERM and change into the directory where
    doit.sh resides. You have to make sure that doit.sh is an executable
    file, e.g. by doing "chmod 777 doit.sh".
    Afterwards, call the script with "./doit.sh".

  • TA25225 Display Flickers in my 21" Imac Intel. This happened after the fan noise in my machine. I also reported the problem and gave to the service centre, but the problem still persist. Please help. I purchased it 3 - 4 weeks ago

    Hello,
    I purchased my imac intel 21" 3-4 weeks ago and in the 2nd week i faced an issue with the machine. When i switched on in, there was a fan noise and a white screen. The machine had hanged. I reported the problem and gave to the service centre. After testing for a week, they said that there is no problem with the imac. Again i faced the same problem after receiving it from the service centre. They again tested the machine for 3-4 days and reported as no problem with the machine. Couple of days back, I received the machine from the service centre, and on the same day when i switched it on, there are flickers in the display. Please help me solve the issue. I am from India. The service here is very bad.
    Hope for a resolution
    Thanks

    Hello RedDevil07
    Yes I agree with seventy one. It's common sense to do this, especially now. I would also contact AppleCare and report this issue with them, it will get documented and you will have a caseID that you can refer to when talking to them in the future should this issue go one.
    Be polite with AppleCare and your AASP. Hopefully everyone is being honest and trying to help you and not what might appear to be the opposite.
    Patience is a virtue, but I thoroughly understand your frustration.
    Let us know how it goes, we are here to help in whatever way we can.
    I encourage you to contact AppleCare to report this experience and get their recommendations. There is an expectation that you should have that AppleCare is there to help you as a customer. I am sure they will too!

  • Problem with services hierarchy and purchase order

    Hi I'm in Srm 7 EHP8(classic scenario) and i have a problem with services hierarchies:
    I create a Purchase requisition in ECC with the next structure:
    1.Hier
    1.1 Serv1
    1.2 Serv2
    1.3 Serv3
    Then I upload this PR to SRM(I activated the BBP_EXTLOCALPO_BADI to change to the Extended-classic scenario to upload correctly the hierarchy)
    and in the SOCO  I only choose the position 1.1 Serv1 and create a purchase order.
    The problem is the purchase order created in ECC contain all the services of the purchase requisition, not only the service I choose(1.1 Serv1) to create the purchase order, in SRM the purchase order is correct with only one position(1.1 Serv1)
    Any Idea?.
    Thanks for the help.

    Hi,
    I have the same problem, any new about that?

    I must confess that I am totally unable to understand what your PATH is set to. The error that you see,
    <'javac' is not recognized as an internal or external command,operable program or batch file.>
    is due to a missing or incorrectly set PATH. It is used by Windows to find executable file (like javac.exe) that you have added to the computer. Item #5 on this page gives you instructions on how to set it: http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.4.2/install-windows.html
    As for the setting of the CLASSPATH, you seem to have a number of different versions of java (1.4.2_02, 1.4.2_01, 1.4.2_2, and 1.1.8) and I doubt that these are all valid. You are also using an unusual syntax C:\java_home\jdk1.4.2_2\bin\javadoc Fruit.java and I wonder if that is really C:\java_home\jdk1.4.2_2\bin\javadoc\Fruit.java? I think the best action is to point you to Sun's instructions and information about setting and using the CLASSPATH.
    The CLASSPATH is a set of pointers that is used by Java to find the files that YOU (not Java) create and want compiled and/or run.

    Was your phone jailbroken or "unlocked" by someone other than the carrier it was originally locked to?
    Sounds like you have a hacke/jailbroken phone.

    Go to /Library/Preferences/System Configuration
    Move all the files from the System Configuration folder to the Trash.
    Restart your Mac. See if that made a difference.

  • HT201412 I dropped my iphone 4. It showed a 'sim problem' window and now has no service.

    my iphone 4 slipped off a table and than later had a window that said 'sim problem' and now has no service.

    Hey 35Cotton,
    I understand that you're encountering SIM/service issues on your iPhone. I would run through these troubleshooting steps to resolve the issue:
    Update your iPhone to the latest version of iOS.
    Toggle Airplane mode On and Off.
    Try turning iPhone off and then on again.
    Check for a carrier settings update. Tap Settings > General > About. If an update is available, a prompt will appear.
    Remove the SIM Card and verify that it is a valid, carrier-manufactured SIM. Also verify that it is not damaged, worn, or modified. Then reinsert it.
    Restore the iPhone.
    If you still are unable to resolve this issue, contact Apple support for further assistance.

  • Serious and rapidly increasing Customer Service Failures...

    I have been a "Mercedes Plan/Equipment" user, since April, 2002.
    I live in a rural area (Southeastern WA State), and the regional carrier was highly inadequate. I found Verizon to be a superior alternative.
    My experience, led many of my fellow citizens (all 500) of us, to purchase Verizon service and phones.
    Personally, my "problems" did not begin; until I moved to Whidbey Island, WA, in late 2005. I explored "plan options," with help from several CSP's, and my son in-law...who sold me the plan (he owned his own, independent store at the time).
    Shortly after, I assume (I should have  personally monitored my service plan more carefully, rather than trusting that Verizon would keep me advised of plan changes and new, improved plans...back when plans "got better; as opposed to worse!") several less expensive programs became available, to accommodate my needs. Believe it or not, I was paying nearly $500/month?!
    Fortunately, in a "routine" call about reception problems, my CSP was SHOCKED to see what I was paying, versus what I was "using." She determined I had paid approximately $242/mo. more than necessary...for 13 months!! Yes, I feel quite the fool...
    Verizon was unapologetic; but the CSP FOUGHT to get me at least one month's refund. Sigh...nearly $3000 into the funding of a rapidly deteriorating entity?!
    Well, other than some incredibly helpful company store employees (who have become less and less able to assist?!), my "Verizon Experience" has progressively deteriorated into "Verizon Inexperience/Poor experience/Incompetence/Nightmare and FRUSTRATION!"
    Anyone else "feel the pain," and sad to see the decline of this (unfortunately) near "monopolistic" entity?
    Sigh, if only another carrier provided as strong a coverage map...with caring and competent customer service and support!!
    I returned to my "little farm community" in mid-2009; where many of the people I had "sold" on Verizon, sought to "wring my neck!"
    Verizon, in order to accommodate "commuter students and faculty" from several institutions of higher education in our area; put in a new, very powerful tower (primarily for data service) about 10 miles east of town.
    This has DESTROYED voice service in our community. The good news is, data is actually quite good?!
    Verizon has promised a solution (many of us complained...and continue to do so) and have been repeatedly "promised" a solution for 3.5 years.
    It seems, since the wavelength for voice is shorter, it is more easily disrupted by obstacles; even weather.
    Our phones, first seek a Verizon tower, then switch to a "roaming" tower, if the signal is poor. Unfortunately, just a minor movement of the phone can initiate this action...resulting in the phone becoming confused and dropping the call, or so badly degrading the transmission, it can't be understood.
    Last week, in a conversation with a CSP; re, a different issue; I brought up the idea that Verizon should give us all "signal boosters." He kept reiterating I could buy one for $250, so I hung up!
    This morning, I checked my Gmail Spam (not sure why I did?)...and discovered to emails from Verizon, sent to MULTIPLE email addresses(??), and regarding a phone number and RIDICULOUS amount of dollars paid on somebody's account?!
    The emails appear to be 100% legit.
    I am concerned that Verizon e-statements have been "hacked?!?!"
    Gmail assures me, my account has not been "hacked."
    I am enclosing a copy of the "SPAM" e-mail I received this morning; but with all references to multiple e-mails REMOVED.
    PLEASE BE AWARE and VIGILANT!
    This morning, I sent an "incensed" e-mail to Verizon...it might explain a bit more (it does NOT even include all the inconveniences) about my frustration.
    Any suggestions would be appreciated.
    I am forwarding a copy of the e-mail, and a detailed list of problems to both the FCC and the FTC. It has been suggested that I acquire the services of an attorney...either as an individual, or perhaps, on behalf of the community.
    Here is a copy of the e-mail, sent this morning:
    {The continued demise of Verizon service, and increasing general incompetence; continue to amaze and frustrate.
    Voice service from my home and hometown was "destroyed" in 2009, by a newly installed tower. Promises to repair have been bogus...most recently, a supposed agreement to add a translator or such, to local Inland Cell. tower. HAH!
    I pay late every month...as part of my "protest."
    Two years ago, YOU switched ownership of my plan; to a person that DID NOT EVEN EXIST! The "Carline *******" was close to that of my then 74 year-old sister, "Carolyn *******." In the process of solving the problem; the original call was "dropped" SIX TIMES! I had to get "Carolyn" on conference call (frightening and confusing her)...to get the account (opened under my name and Social Sec. number in 2002), switched back to me?! The inconvenience was increased, by having to create a BRAND NEW ACCOUNT and new billing cycle.
    Last week, I noticed my brother, "Lester *****" has his phone, 509.951.****, STILL LISTED AS "CARLINE *******?!" A phone adviser promised to fix it; but as of yesterday (i reviewed my online statement) it appeared unchanged? I also told the poor young "pawn," Verizon should provide all local customers with free "signal boosters." Yeah, right! He continued to "recite his script;" about my "buying one"...so I hung-up on him.
    Back in 2006, a phone adviser, identified that I had been sold the wrong plan...and had paid approx. $242/mo. too much, for 13 months?!
    She was able to get me a refund of just "ONE MONTH." Thanks MUCH!
    Today, I received in my SPAM Gmail (which I by chance checked); two e-mails from what appears to be Verizon? A "late notice," and a "notice of payment;" both sent to MULTIPLE ADDRESSES, and identifying the last four digits of a phone number I DO NOT RECOGNIZE. I am so sorry to be STUCK WITH VERIZON... THIS EMAIL, THE SPAM will all go to the FCC.
    YOU'RE PATHETIC!!
    Joseph A. *****}
    509.951.****
    If there are many of you out there, with similar struggles; perhaps we should "unite and fight?!"
    Thanks,
    why?777

    Just to add to the mix.
    We were told today that the wayleaves team had written to 1 of our neighbours asking for permissions and that they were awaiting their response. I have spoken to the neighbour in question (he works away from the poperty) and he has said that he has sent 2 replies already so where have they gone (sat on someones desk no doubt)? They also said they didn't need to contact the middle property as the connection would be overhead (complete rubbish as the lines here are underground). Although, I have subsequently contacted the middle property (who also live away, it's a holiday let) who have told me that they have received a letter from BT asking for their permission and they replied in earnest, and BT have replied to their reply acknowledging thier reply and sending them a cheque of £25 compensation.
    Basically no one knows what is going on, and I don't know what to do....

    You need to research the APIs more fully, to figure out how to give it a resource name relative to the application's classpath, and put that file in said classpath.
    If I were you, I would try to avoid explicitly calling DOMConfigurator.configure altogether, and just pass the appropriate Log4J system property to the commandline that starts up Tomcat. Let Log4J worry about loading the file, given the property. If I recall correctly, the system property name is "log4j.configuration", which defaults to "log4j.properties" if unspecified. Also, rather than have each application running in Tomcat have their own log4j configuration file name, I'd name them something more universal, like "log4j.xml" - then if you deploy multiple apps in Tomcat, they can all load their own log4j.xml file, as long as (again) you corrected the "log4j.configuration" system property.

  • Custom classpath and custom jar entry in R12

    Hi all,
    I have created the custom classpath and custom jar file for isrore process. I had put custom jar and custom class entry in orien_application.xml file. But it was working on R12 at doveloper mode. It will creates the classes for custom jsp file using custom import class or custom jar. But once i revert back the devloper mode means it won't work.
    Could you please help..

    Oracle apps R12 - Compiling JSP with custom classpath
    We all know that to compile JSP manually on the Oracle Application R12 instance, we need to run the file $FND_TOP/patch/115/bin/ojspCompile.pl.
    Its help is as follows:
    syntax: ./ojspCompile.pl COMMAND {ARGS}
    COMMAND --compile               update dependency, compile delta
    --create                rebuild entire dependency file
    -delta.out update dependency, list delta to file
    -dep.out update dependency, output heirarchy to file
    ARGS -s matching condition for JSPs filenames
    -p number of parallel compilations
    -log to override logfile from ojspCompile.conf
    You are
    recommended to set the log file location
    outside of any network file system shared (NFS) area/drive.
    -conf to override ojspCompile.conf
    --retry         retry previously failed compilation attempts
    --flush         forces recompilation of all parent JSPs
    --quiet         do not provide an actively running progress meter
    --fast          instantly fail jsps that are possibly invalid
    example1: ojspCompile.pl compile -s 'jtf%' -p 20 retry
    example2: ojspCompile.pl compile -s 'jtflogin.jsp,jtfavald.jsp' flush
    example3: ojspCompile.pl compile fast --quiet
    If your JSP uses custom classes, then compiling jsp manually can fail if proper classpath is not set. Yes, even though if you have setup the classpath correctly in orion-application.xml, it will fail because this jsp compile utility does not read orion-application.xml classpath.
    So, the problem is to identify where to set the classpath so that above utility can pick it up. After several search and looking into code, I found following:
    By default, the jsp compiler script uses following configuration file
    $INST_TOP/appl/admin/ojspCompile.conf
    This conf file has a classpath field in it which is usually pointed to file
    $INST_TOP/appl/admin/ojspCompile.properties
    This property file lists the classpath used for JSP compilation.
    So if your classes are not listed in this file, your jsps will not compile by ojspCompile.
    Ofcourse, you can always set the "main_mode" to "recompile" in orion-web.xml, but that for production you do not want to change it and compile the JSP on file deployment.

  • Weblogic 10.3 - Arrays and JAX-RPC Web Services

    We are currently looking at migrating from WL 8.1 to WL 10.3, and have an issue with some of our web services (JAX-RPC) with regards to returning String arrays.
    We have a web service method that returns a response object. This response object has many properties that includes a property that is a String array. So the code looks something like this (this is a simplified version):
    <em>public class OurService
    @RemoteMethod
    @WebMethod
    @WebResult(name = "result")
    public ResponseObject lookup(String someParam)
    // build the object and its properties here...
    return responseObject;
    }</em>
    This is what the response object looks like:
    <em>public class ResponseObject
    private String[] someProperty;
    public String[] getSomeProperty()
    return this.</em><em>someProperty</em><em>;
    public void setSomeProperty(String[] </em><em>someProperty</em><em>)
    this.</em><em>someProperty</em><em>= </em><em>someProperty</em><em>;
    }</em>
    So the issue is this. In WL 8.1, the web service generator would recognise the fact that the response object had a property that was a String array and would declare as such in the WSDL file, for example:
    <em><strong> &lt;xsd:element xmlns:tp="java:language_builtins.lang" type="<font color="#ff0000">tp:ArrayOfString</font>" name="someProperty" minOccurs="1" nillable="true" maxOccurs="1"&gt;
    &lt;/xsd:element&gt;
    </strong></em>
    As a result, when the service is called, the property is returned in the SOAP response like this:
    <strong>.
    </strong>
    <div class="e">
    <div class="c" style="margin-left: 1em; text-indent: -2em">
    <em><strong> <span class="m">&lt;</span><span class="t">someProperty</span><span class="t"> soapenc:arrayType</span><span class="m">="</span></strong><strong>xsd:string[2]<span class="m">"</span><span class="m">&gt;</span></strong></em>
    </div>
    <div>
    <div class="e">
    <div>
    <em><strong><span class="b"> </span><span class="m">&lt;</span><span class="t">string</span><span class="t">
    xsi:type</span><span class="m">="</span></strong><strong>xsd:string<span class="m">"</span><span class="m">&gt;</span><span class="tx">string1</span><span class="m">&lt;/</span><span class="t">string</span><span class="b">&gt;
    &lt;string xsi:type="xsd:string"&gt;string2&lt;/string&gt;
    </span><span class="m">&lt;/</span><span class="t">someProperty</span><span class="m">&gt;</span></strong></em>
    </div>
    </div>
    </div>
    </div>
    <strong>.
    </strong>
    But, in WL 10.3, the WSDL entry is:
    <em><strong> &lt;xs:element maxOccurs="unbounded" minOccurs="0" name="InstepCodes" nillable="true" type="xs:string"&gt;
    </strong></em>
    As a result the property is returned in the SOAP response like this:
    <strong> .
    </strong><strong><span class="m"> &lt;</span><span class="t">java:InstepCodes</span><span class="ns">
    xmlns:java</span><span class="m">="</span></strong><strong class="ns">java:com.myservice</strong><strong><span class="m">"</span><span class="m">&gt;</span><span class="tx">string1</span><span class="m">&lt;/</span><span class="t">java:InstepCodes</span><span class="m">&gt;</span>
    </strong><strong><span class="m"> &lt;</span><span class="t">java:InstepCodes</span><span class="ns">
    xmlns:java</span><span class="m">="</span></strong><strong class="ns">java:com.myservice</strong><strong><span class="m">"</span><span class="m">&gt;</span><span class="tx">string2</span><span class="m">&lt;/</span><span class="t">java:InstepCodes</span><span class="m">&gt;</span>
    </strong>The difference here is that WL 10.3 does not return the array of strings as a complex array type, just as a set of repeated elements.
    We need to return the array as we do for WL 8 in WL 10.3, because we have external clients that are parsing the response and looking for the XML in this format. We are not currently in a position to ask them to change.
    Is this a limitation of the JAX-RPC spec, or WL's implementation of it?
    If the service was to return a String array directly from a service method, then it is declared in the WSDL file.
    However, if a service returns an object that within itself has a property that is an array, it does not recognise it like it did with WL 8.1.
    <strong>
    </strong>
    <div class="e">
    </div>

    Thank you for the reply.
    We are using WL Server 8.1 (not Workshop), and moving to WL Server 10g R3.
    We are using the JWSC task to generate the service, which is:
    bq. weblogic.wsee.tools.anttasks.JwscTask+
    Here is an extract from the Ant build file the calls the task.
    &lt;jwsc
    srcdir="src/com/ourservice"
    sourcepath="src"
    destdir="${ear.dir}"
    verbose="false"
    debug="true"
    keepGenerated="true"
    classpathref="ws.class.path"&gt;
    +&lt;module name="${service.name}" explode="true"&gt;+
    +&lt;jws file="OurService.java" type="JAXRPC"/&gt;+
    +&lt;/module&gt;+
    +&lt;/jwsc&gt;+
    As stated in my first post, the service method returns an reponse object and its this that contains the array property. The service method itself does not return an array type. This seems to be the root of the problem, i.e. the declaration of array types is not being propagated down through the object graph the service method returns. Below is the code for the service and the response object.
    @FileGeneration(remoteClass = Constants.Bool.TRUE, remoteClassName = "OurService", localHome = Constants.Bool.TRUE, localHomeName = "OurServiceLocalHome", remoteHome = Constants.Bool.TRUE, remoteHomeName = "++OurService++Home", localClass = Constants.Bool.TRUE, localClassName = "++OurService++Local")+
    @JndiName(remote = "com.ourservice.++OurService++", local = "com.ourservice.++OurService++Local")+
    @Session(ejbName = "++OurService++", type = Session.SessionType.STATELESS, transactionType = Session.SessionTransactionType.CONTAINER, maxBeansInFreePool = "100", initialBeansInFreePool = "20", enableCallByReference = Constants.Bool.TRUE, homeIsClusterable = Constants.Bool.TRUE, homeLoadAlgorithm = Constants.HomeLoadAlgorithm.ROUND_ROBIN, isClusterable = Constants.Bool.TRUE, beanLoadAlgorithm = "RoundRobin", defaultTransaction = Constants.TransactionAttribute.SUPPORTS)+
    +@RoleMappings( { @RoleMapping(roleName = "Admin", externallyDefined = Constants.Bool.TRUE),+
    +@RoleMapping(roleName = "Monitor", externallyDefined = Constants.Bool.TRUE),+
    +@RoleMapping(roleName = "JMS", externallyDefined = Constants.Bool.TRUE) })+
    @WebService(name = "OurServicePort", serviceName = "OurService", targetNamespace = "http://www.ourservice.com/SOA/OurService+_service")+
    +@SOAPBinding(style = SOAPBinding.Style.RPC, use = SOAPBinding.Use.LITERAL)+
    @WLHttpTransport(contextPath = "OurService", serviceUri = "OurService", portName = "
    *OurService+Port")+
    public class OurService
    +{+
    @RemoteMethod
    @WebMethod
    @WebResult(name = "result")
    {color:#ff0000}public ResponseObject lookup(String someParam){color}
    // build the response object...
    return {color:#ff0000}responseObject{color};
    +}+
    This is what the response object looks like:
    public class ResponseObject
    +{+
    private String[] someProperty;
    +public {color:#ff0000}String[] getSomeProperty(){color}+
    +{+
    return this.someProperty;
    +}+
    public void setSomeProperty(String[] someProperty)
    +{+
    this.someProperty = someProperty;
    +}+
    +}+
    From all of this I cant tell how we get the WSDL file to delcare it as an array type, as shown in the JAX-RPC 1.1 spec you mentioned, based on the code we have and the JWSC build task we are using.
    (I appologise for the formatting of this message. It seems to want to insert + everywhere in the code examples, despite me removing them!)

  • WebLogic 11g EAR EJB Classpath and class loaders

    All,
    I have been having issues migrating Spring based EJB applications from OC4J to WebLogic 11g (10.3.1). I have been in communication with Oracle who has suggested a work around however I am keen to see if anyone else can suggest a solution.
    The application is dependant on stateless session EJB beans that communicate with a Spring managed service tier to perform the business logic and database access. PitchFork is used to inject the Spring managers into the EJB’s using the spring-ejb-jar.xml configuration file. Note originally I was using the SpringBeanAutowiringInterceptor however I could not get this to work. See WebLogic 11g and Spring beens injected into EJB for details.
    When the application is deployed packaging all the dependant jars within the APP-INF\lib folder I get a verity of errors from the following InvalidClassException, NoSuchMethodError, AbstractMethodError and IllegalArgumentException. I am using Spring 2.5.3 to match the supported WebLogic version. Note within the EAR application.xml the library-directory is set to APP-INF/lib. The issue appears to be Spring, PitchFork, commons-logging and aspectj libraries are being loaded form WebLogic and do not have visibility on jars within the application or have been modified when bundled for WebLogic. An example of this is the PitchFork jar within WebLogic has been changed excluding the spi package resulting in java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: org.springframework.jee.spi.PitchforkUtilsImpl errors.
    Moving the jars to the domain library path does not resolve any of the issues. I have been unable to successfully deploy the application picking up the application jars using the prefer-application-packages configuration.
    Oracle has advised me to deploy the libraries into the WebLogic system classpath by modifying the startWebLogic command to load the libraries into the classpath. I am concerned that modifying the system classpath will result in an unstable WebLogic server as I will be replacing modified jar files packages with WebLogic (such as PitchFork). This will also limit the applications that can be deployed within the server as each application must use the same libraries and versions (as the application ibraries are leing ignored).
    Has anyone else hit this issue and corrected it? Can anyone think of an alternative solution?
    Regards
    Neil

    Hi,
    I am in the process of updating the tracking bug# 331569 with copies of the eclipse EAR/WAR projects and the EAR for these scenarios. Here are some details on how I got past the 2nd CCE on the org.eclipse.persistence.jpa.PersistenceProvider class (not the javax one)
    https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=331569
    Essentially an SE persistence unit running both JPA 2.0 api and the 2.0 XSD schema work fine. I will next retest the EE case with variations of the 3 types of injection on the SSB or Servlet.
    Update: There are 3 (possibly 4) issues here (all of these may become obsolete when the next WLS version ships)Initially I got the same 2.0 schema error and the ClassCastException on org.eclipse.persistence.jpa.PersistenceProvider
    It turns out that my import of the 2 eclipse projects from my bug # 296271 for WebLogic 10.3.2.0 lost their facets(specifically the dynamic web facet) because I associated them with a different WebLogic 10.3.3.0. - this caused the CCE I was experiencing like Sri.
    Anyways, after creating an EAR/Web project combination from scratch in eclipse associated with the 10.3.3.0 instance - I predeployed/deployed/ran fine - even with the 2.0 schema - in SE bootstrap mode (no EE yet).
    Reproduction Procedure:
    redoing project from scratch as I noticed that the war was not at the root of the ear - it was a jar in the app-inf/lib dir - my imported eclipse project was not referenced correctly as a web module facet- create empty EAR and WAR project with references
    - download and open my EAR and WAR project code from bug # 296271
    https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=296271
    - do essentially all the steps in the page below (I paraphrase for re-verification)
    http://wiki.eclipse.org/EclipseLink/Development/JPA_2.0/weblogic#DI_1.1:_Alternative_3:_Application_Level_Shared_Library_-InUse
    - copy applicationService, entity and FrontController servlet code into new projects
    - create persistence.xml and MANIFEST.MF manifest in src\META-INF
    - update manifest
    Class-Path: APP-INF/lib/eclipselink.jar
    APP-INF/lib/javax.persistence_2.0.0.v200911041116.jar
    - copy both javax.persistence 2.0 and eclipselink 2.x jars to APP-INF/lib
    - change ordering of WebLogic library modules classpath reference (javax.persistence 1.0) to ear reference (2.0 version)
    - update web.xml with servlet tags
    - update weblogic.xml with new context root
    - make the persistence unit name the same in persistence.xml and ApplicationManagedService
    - update weblogic-application.xml with prefer-application-packages overrides
    <wls:prefer-application-packages>
    <wls:package-name>javax.persistence.*</wls:package-name>
    <wls:package-name>org.eclipse.persistence.*</wls:package-name>
    </wls:prefer-application-packages>
    - enable server redirect logging
    <!-- new for 10.3.3.0 http://wiki.eclipse.org/EclipseLink/Examples/JPA/Logging#Server_Logging -->
    <property name="eclipselink.logging.logger" value="DefaultLogger"/>
    - start WebLogic 10.3.3.0
    - deploy (run on) server from eclipse or export ear to auto deploy directory
    1) JPA 2.0 XSD usage on 10.3.3.0
    - I reproduced this issue with a bad EAR
    - was able to use the 2.0 schema within the WAR-only application managed EAR
    persistence.xml<persistence version="2.0" xmlns="http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/persistence" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xsi:schemaLocation="http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/persistence http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/persistence/persistence_2_0.xsd">

    <property name="eclipselink.ddl-generation.output-mode" value="both"/-->
    </properties>
    </persistence-unit>
    </persistence>
    2) CCE on JPA provider implementation class
    Error instantiating the Persistence Provider class org.eclipse.persistence.jpa.PersistenceProvider of the PersistenceUnit example2: java.lang.ClassCastException: org.eclipse.persistence.jpa.PersistenceProvider
    - I reproduced and fixed this one (was Eclipse project facet issue) - EAR was wrong
    - was able to run JPA 2.0 code fine on an SE PU (predeploy/deploy together)
    - EE injection should not work but I will post an example EAR anyway
    log[EL Example]: enterprise: JPA 2.0 Metamodel: MetamodelImpl@56287508 [ 3 Types: , 1 ManagedTypes: , 1 EntityTypes: , 0 MappedSuperclassTypes: , 0 EmbeddableTypes: ]
    3) CCE on JPA spec interface class
    - I could not reproduce this one
    Re: WebLogic 11g EAR EJB Classpath and class loaders
    Error processing persistence unit PT of module pt: Error instantiating the Persistence Provider class org.eclipse.persistence.jpa.PersistenceProvider of the PersistenceUnit PT: java.lang.ClassCastException: org.eclipse.persistence.jpa.PersistenceProvider cannot be cast to javax.persistence.spi.PersistenceProvider
    4) CCE on fallback Kodo JPA provider (if an invalid say 2.1 JPA XSD schema is referenced)
    java.lang.ClassCastException: kodo.persistence.PersistenceProviderImpl
    at javax.persistence.Persistence.findAllProviders(Persistence.java:186)
    java.lang.NoSuchMethodError: javax/persistence/EntityManager.getMetamodel()Ljavax/persistence/metamodel/Metamodel;
    - reproduced by using the 1.0 javax.persistence jar (but named as the 2.0 one in APP-INF/lib)
    - fixed by using either the 1.0 or 2.0 JPA XSD schema and using the correct 2.0 spec jar
    thank you

  • LG Ally text message and gps problems

    hello. ive been with verizon for about 10 years maybe. ive been overall happy with the service and customer service. but the prices should be alot lower.lol. i started out with the motorolas then switched to the lg phones. only problem with the motorola was the speakers. not loud enough. could never hear the phone ring. the lgs usually suffer from the same problem.
    i had a few phone problems but nothing like this lg ally. im on my second one and about to be my 3rd one in about 3 months. 1st phone i had every problem under the sun. this phone i am suffering from text message problems and gps problems. i suffer from what everyone else has problems with. the messages wont send. they will eventually lock up. it will show the envelope with the red explanation point ( i think thats the graphic). then usually everytime when i sent a text the texts will close. it will send then bounce back and show up as a draft and i have to resend it and wait for it to go thru. finally the last problem with the texts. when i send a text a phone number from my contacts shows up and freezes on the screen. its in white text with a black background. its the same number every time. it stays on the screen until i restart or pull my battery out.
    gps. when i open up google gps that comes with the phone i make sure the gps is on... when the directions are found and the map pops up 9 out of 10 times it just keeps saying searching for gps. the turn by turn never is found. the 1 time it does it takes a good 10 minutes to be found. atleast on my first one ally the gps did work 8 out of 10 times. it just took a good 5-10 minutes for gps to be found and show turn by turn.
    anyone else have these problems? where you able to fix them or did you need to get a new phone? the 2.1 update was supposed to fix problems. i think they just made it worse. the ally is supposed to have 2.2 froyo. where is it. is it ever going to get it. i got this phone because i like the lgs and the keyboard. also the sales representative on the phone was giving the lg ally rave reviews. why couldnt he say dont buy this go with a motorola droid. this phone is the biggest junk ever made

    I do apologize you are having trouble with your device I looked in our information system on the LG Ally in reguards to issues you are having it states if you have the Free Droid Security anti virus protection application down loaded it will cause the phone to lock up or freeze. Check and make sure you do not have the application on your device. Check you GPS settings and make sure correct. Go to Settings; Location & Security; make sure GPS is on wireless network. If this does not fix issue you can try doing a Master Reset on your device. Make sure your contacts are saved in your G-mail account or through Back Up Assistance.

    Your Google account
    System and application data and settings
    Downloaded Applications
    It will not erase: Current System software and bundled applications; SD Card files, such as music or Photos
    Factory Reset option 2  - Warning this will reset device back to original factory settings.
    Turn off the phone
    Press and hold "home" + "end" + "volume up or down" keys together for a few seconds when the device is power off
    Once device displays boot information, release keys.
    Soft Reset
    Press the Power key.
    Touch Power off.
    Touch OK.
    Press the Power key to power on the device.
    or
