CLBUS1007.created event triggered by an ABAP OO event?

Hello gurus,
I have noticed, that when the customer master is created in ECC 5.0, the CLBUS1007.created event is triggered (SWEL). However; CLBUS1007 object does not exist in the BOR directory. It must be ABAP OO event than, right? If so, how can I find out the corresponding class? I wonder how I can make a binding, check object attributes etc.
By the way, BUS1007 is obsolete in BOR. Do you know if I should use some other BOR object for a Customer or create a sub-class of this ABAP class that I don't know yet?
Regards,
Michal
PS. I know there is very good blog by Jocelyn Dart about this topic (/people/jocelyn.dart/blog/2006/07/27/raising-abap-oo-events-for-workflow), but it does not solve my problem of relation between SWEL object type and ABAP class.

Hi Michael,
If you look at the header of BOR object BUS1007 you'll notice the last time this was changed was back in 1999 - i.e. 4.6a. So that object has been dead for quite some time.
It's almost certainly just an obsolete piece of code that hasn't been cleaned up properly.  I suspect what is happening is that it is mix and matching the object category CL with the business object BUS1007 (which of course is category BO).
Either that or its an obsolete configuration entry that's getting picked up.
If it's annoying you, you could try putting a session breakpoint on function module SWE_EVENT_CREATE to see if you can track the call that causing the problem, and then of course report it in (Low priority) to get it cleaned up.
If you are just looking for the correct object to use, suggest you report it in anyway as a query... I notice they haven't bothered to specify the new object type in the documentation  but if you look at SAP note 719936 it mentions that the new object type is KNA1 - which definitely is in the BOR directory.
I haven't seen an ABAP OO version of KNA1 yet in any of the systems... HR seems to be doing a fair bit in ABAP OO though.
Hope that helps.
Regards,
Jocelyn

Are you another student who feels the need to post their "student ID" number as a part of the message?  There is really no need to do that, it is meaningless to us.
You should ask your instructor to answer your questions rather than allowing them to turn the whole class of students loose on the forums usually asking the same identical question.
At least in your case, the question is different from most we've seen.  Unfortunately, you haven't asked a clear enough question for us to understand what you are talking about.
What "events" are you talking about?  Post a VI that demonstrates the code that you have written so far.

  • Event structure and automatic queueing of events.

I have found out the long way that the event structure queues all the events taken place while it has been executing yur most current event.
In other words... I understand why the locking of the front panel is an automatic option that is selected. As it will prevent you from queueing more events,  and causing yur program to execute endless event structure runs, when you wanted it to stop 15 button presses ago.
case in point.... is in this simple VI i attached.
My question is ... is there a way to turn off this automatic queueing of events??

    EventStructureHUH.vi ‏53 KB

Well ... the problem for me... was, for example, in the VI I posted....
The OK button in the VI I posted, has an event triggered to it in the event structure.... So when I enter that loop after hitting the enter loop button... it registers those OK clicks...
Say the OK button and NOT the continue button takes me out of the little loop and back into the big loop. Now, after leaving the little loop and entering into the big loop, I will immediatly enter back into the event structure to handle the OK button click.
Basically I wanted one button to control the termination condition of the little loop, but also have an event in the event structure associated with it, so basically one button to exit the little loop AND the big loop.
I hope Im making sense. I found a solution, by just making two buttons, when entering into the little loop, the one button dissapears... and vice versa when entering into the big loop. So to the USER it appears like ONE button... but in the code its actually two.
I just wasnt sure if there was another way around it... it was tough to figure out what was really happenening in my code... took my about an hour or two to track down.
EDIT: Yea.. thanks for the reply....  as for the comments in my code... yea, I get a little crazy towards the end of the day... after 6-8 hours of straight labview programming.

  • Event triggering by abap class & ISR

    hi gurus
1 ) can i able to see the event triggering by abap class in SWEL ?  ,
    2) in custom  ISR scenario , new form scenario has been created by our functional consultant , and asking me to trigger a workflow for approval ,  when employee fills that particular ISR FORM , workflow should start and to go his HR administrator , when HR administrator double click on workitem he should get the ISR form in display mode  & also with some descpition text  is to be added in the screen (like user decision description ) with approval button ..... my question is how to trigger a event from in form scenario ? , how to bring the FORM screen to display mode  to the HR administrator ?
    regards

    Hi Surya
The BO for ISR forms is BUS7051 - Notification. Turn on the trace via SWELS and create a PCR/ISR form and you should see the events being triggered in SWEL.

  • How to create database triggers in ABAP Dictionary

    Hi,
How can i create database triggers on tables, like the update, delete and insert triggers which we used to create in SQL sever and other databases, is there any transaction for doing the same from ABAP dictionary. or should it be done at the raw database level.

  • WLAI doesn't create appropriate triggers when I create an event

When I create an event for an application view in WLAI, the appropriate database
triggers for that table are not being created properly. I am trying to create
an event that listens on the CUSTOMER_TABLE table for an insert. When I run the
test, put an ample amount of time, and perform an insert/commit manually, the
    system doesn't recognize the insert.
The problem is that there is no trigger created on the CUSTOMER_TABLE that would
write data to the EVENT table. I have investigated the DbmsEventRouter settings,
web.xml, and other connection settings and can't find anything wrong with them.
My user on the database has the ability to create triggers as well. The server
console also does not report any errors (other than the timeout).
Is there something I am missing that would cause an event creation to NOT write
the appropriate trigger with it? Thanks in advance.
    Dan

    Dan,
    Please verify the following:
    1) that an insert trigger exists on the table in question. If there is no trigger,
then the EVENT table will not get populated.
    2) that the data source you've specified when connecting to the EIS is the same as
what the event generator/router has in the web.xml
    3) that there are no other instances of the event generator/router listening on the
same EVENT table. If so, it could be that the other instance of the event
generator/router gets the events and deletes them from the EVENT table. This would
give the other event generator/router the impression that no events have happened.
    Cheers,
    Chris

  • ABAP OO Event Problem

    Hi,
I read the blog posted by Jocelyn Dart-<b><i>Raising ABAP OO Events for Workflow</i></b>...
    <b>/people/jocelyn.dart/blog/2006/07/27/raising-abap-oo-events-for-workflow
When I tried the same using my own Class, I am getting some problem.
Well, I created my Class with two Attributes
    1) <i>M_POR</i>(Persistent Object Reference Attribute)
    2) <i>PERNR</i>(Employee Number)
And I created a Constructor with one parameter.
And I also coded the remaining standard methods as per that blog - <b><i>USING ABAP OO Methods in Workflow Tasks</i></b>.
Finally I activated my CLASS and each individual method.
I created one small report that raises ABAP OO Event as mentioned in the blog with the below mentioned code.
    <i>report  yworkflowtrigger_ooabap.
    data : ls_ywftest1_key type p_pernr,
           lv_objtype type sibftypeid,
           lv_event   type sibfevent,

      lv_event = 'STARTEVENT'.

           IM_EVENT_CONTAINER =
         catch cx_swf_evt_invalid_objtype .
         catch cx_swf_evt_invalid_event .
      endtry.</i>
I switched on my event trace and tried raising the Event. But event is not raised even after execution of this code. I checked the SY-SUBRC value at the ENDTRY, But this seems perfect(SY-SUBRC = 0).
Why is my event not getting triggered even after the execution of above code?
Is there anything which I have missed.

  • Event creation  in oops abap

cud u plz guide me how to create the events in oops abap .
why we r using methods instead of perform statements in oops abap?

    Hi,
    Triggering and Handling Events
In ABAP Objects, triggering and handling an event means that certain methods act as triggers and trigger events, to which other methods - the handlers - react. This means that the handler methods are executed when the event occurs.
This section contains explains how to work with events in ABAP Objects. For precise details of the relevant ABAP statements, refer to the corresponding keyword documentation in the ABAP Editor.
    Triggering Events
To trigger an event, a class must
    · Declare the event in its declaration part
    · Trigger the event in one of its methods
    Declaring Events
You declare events in the declaration part of a class or in an interface. To declare instance events, use the following statement:
    EVENTS ) TYPE type ..
To declare static events, use the following statement:
    CLASS-EVENTS ... ...
It links a list of handler methods with corresponding trigger methods. There are four different types of event.
    It can be
    · An instance event declared in a class
    · An instance event declared in an interface
    · A static event declared in a class
    · A static event declared in an interface
The syntax and effect of the SET HANDLER depends on which of the four cases listed above applies.
For an instance event, you must use the FOR addition to specify the instance for which you want to register the handler. You can either specify a single instance as the trigger, using a reference variable ...
The registration applies automatically to the whole class, or to all of the classes that implement the interface containing the static event. In the case of interfaces, the registration also applies to classes that are not loaded until after the handler has been registered.
    Timing of Event Handling
After the RAISE EVENT statement, all registered handler methods are executed before the next statement is processed (synchronous event handling). If a handler method itself triggers events, its handler methods are executed before the original handler method continues. To avoid the possibility of endless recursion, events may currently only be nested 64 deep.
Handler methods are executed in the order in which they were registered. Since event handlers are registered dynamically, you should not assume that they will be processed in a particular order. Instead, you should program as though all event handlers will be executed simultaneously.
    "Example  :
    REPORT demo_class_counter_event.
    CLASS counter DEFINITION.
      PUBLIC SECTION.
        METHODS increment_counter.
        EVENTS  critical_value EXPORTING value(excess) TYPE i.
      PRIVATE SECTION.
        DATA: count     TYPE i,
              threshold TYPE i VALUE 10.
    ENDCLASS.
    CLASS counter IMPLEMENTATION.
      METHOD increment_counter.
        DATA diff TYPE i.
        ADD 1 TO count.
        IF count > threshold.
          diff = count - threshold.
RAISE EVENT critical_value EXPORTING excess = diff.
        ENDIF.
      ENDMETHOD.
    ENDCLASS.
    CLASS handler DEFINITION.
      PUBLIC SECTION.
        METHODS handle_excess
                FOR EVENT critical_value OF counter
                IMPORTING excess.
    ENDCLASS.
    CLASS handler IMPLEMENTATION.
      METHOD handle_excess.
        WRITE: / 'Excess is', excess.
      ENDMETHOD.
    ENDCLASS.
DATA: r1 TYPE REF TO counter,
          h1 TYPE REF TO handler.
    START-OF-SELECTION.
      CREATE OBJECT: r1, h1.
SET HANDLER h1->handle_excess FOR ALL INSTANCES.
      DO 20 TIMES.
        CALL METHOD r1->increment_counter.
      ENDDO.
The class COUNTER implements a counter. It triggers the event CRITICAL_VALUE when a threshold value is exceeded, and displays the difference. HANDLER can handle the exception in COUNTER. At runtime, the handler is registered for all reference variables that point to the object.

  • How to determine the source of Events triggered in a process chain

    Hi ,
We have almost a 100 process chains, and of these approx 20-30 local process chains are triggered by events raised within other process chains.  These events are raised via BP_EVENT_RAISE using the ABAP process type.
However, our problem is to identify the source of these event trigger - i.e. which process chain triggered this event ?
Looking at SM64, the event history does not display the source for these events.
Is there any table or program that we can use to determine the source of these events which are triggered.
Any help is much appreciated and points awarded.
    thanks
    BK

    Hi,
do check in the program /SSA/BWT . or TCODE - ST13 -- enter BW-TOOLS and execute. -- Choose Process chains and execute --- Select the date and time for which you want to see the process chains and execute again.
This will give you the entire list of process chains triggered, status, timings(start, end, overall runtime). Once clicked on the process chains it will show you the steps in theprocess chains, data loaded in the data targets, source system, etc...
    hope it helps.

  • ABAP OO Events

    Dear all:
In ABAP OO programming, Events can be raised to announce a change of state (or action etc) and the associated Event Handlers can react to that.
SAP says that after the Event is raised:
    - caller program halts processing
    - all subscribed Event Handlers get executed
    - once the Event Handlers finish execution, the control is sent back to the calling program
    - the program resumes processing
If that is the case then what is the advantage of using Events+EventHandlers verses calling those Event Handler methods explicitely through the program? One advantage is that if there are multiple actions that should be taken based on event, you could specify all handlers at one place and all gets initiated when the event is raised. Do you envision any other advantage?
My main question is that if the event raiser program after triggering the event has to wait for the event handlers to finish processing - what benefit do we get by using Events+Event Handler combination verses calling the Event Hanlder methods explicitely? Is it only the convenience in coding or any other advantage too?
    Thanks!

    Hi Chetan,
Calling event handlers directly might be a bad thing. Event handlers should not be treated as merely subroutines. In some cases however, there is no difference in using a subroutine (form, function module, bapi or method) and the event handler.
    But consider this.
When a button is available on a screen and when pressed an event is triggered, this will then run the event handler. The question you should ask yourself is: Can you predict when a user presses the button?
Answer: No, you cannot. So tell me, where in your code do you place the call to the event handler?
Once an event handler has been defined and it listens to a specific triggered event, this object can be used anywhere in ABAP OO by simply inherit the object. The only thing you need to do is to trigger the event (and ABAP OO takes care of the rest). Perfect reuseabillity.
    So now to your question.
Designing OO programs is based on several techniques, where events have a crucial role. They signal to the system that something has happened. The (event) handler behind it acts on the signal. You can modify your event. You can modify the inhereted handler. Because if this capabillity you should use events with event handlers and not directly calling the handler. Furthermore it is not required to redefine an eventhandler once you declare an inherted object, but you are capable of doing so, thus changing its behaviour.
So this gives you as a devloper very good control over your program. And what more do we want.
    Regards,
    Rob.

I've modified the code just a little. I removed some unnecessary things from it. I also added a counter, to try to visualize the issue.
Every time I pasted the code here, the global variable seemed to duplicate. So, eeeeh...  the example code can be found here.
    The problem is:
I close one document to trigger the event, but for some reason the callback seems to run multiple times.
Even better, it doesn't seem to be super consistent about it. Sometimes it repeats only couple of times and sometimes it repeats 160 times.
It seems like every time the extension panel is reopened, it comes up with a new number.
Currently, if I close a document, it seems to trigger the callback 15 times
Since this is screenshot, you'll have to take my word for it. I only closed a single document and the code ran 15 times.
Am I doing something wrong by any chance?
    edit:
I believe I just found out the reason and a way to recreate the issue.
I've occasionally tested the extension by closing and opening the panel, which seems to have caused the issue.
It looks like every time I close and then open the panel, it... adds one more run time to the stack.
    - Refreshing the panel from chrome doesn't seem to affect it.
When I restart photoshop, it resets. So after the very first opening of the panel, the event triggers the callback only once.
I forgot to mention that the host application events work just fine without these issues.
In fact, I tried to use documentAfterActivate before, but as far as I could find, there is no way to kind of filter out specific events within host application events.
For instance, I can't specify something different to happen when a new document is opened.
As very much a side note:
documentAfterActivate has its own side effect due to the way photoshop works.
    It is triggered when you:
    Create a new document
    Open a new document
    Switch to an open document
It's the "Switch to an open document" part that makes this event listener also trigger when you close a document.
Because when you close a document, photoshop switches back to the previous document and that in turn triggers the event listener when it shouldn't, I suppose.
Of course it doesn't trigger the event when you close the last document as there is no document to switch to at that point.
...but this is beyond the scope of the original question.

I was so tired last night that when I found out the cause of it, I never even thought about unregistering...
I decided to unregister it when the panel is opened instead.
This does indeed get rid of the issue.
    Thanks, cbuliarca.

  • BOR event vs ABAP OO event

    Hi,
I would like create new PO workflow (BUS2012) using ABAP OO workflow. Is it possible to use the existing BOR event, such as RELEASESTEPCREATED  instead of creating new one for the ABAP OO workflow class? And if we can re-use the event, how do we bind the BOR to the class object?
    Thanks

    Hello Jani,
I just spotted this almost by accident. It is custom on this forum to ask new questions in a new thread. Why? Because your question is unrelated to the title of this thread, so it already has less chance to come to the attention of someone who knows the answer. Of course you can always place a link to an older thread into a new question as well.
Anyhow, to your question, you should use a RETURNING parameter, which enables you to perform the instantiation in a container operation step - far better performance-wise. This is described in detail in the WF book (all authors' proceeds donated to charity). But you're of course always still welcome to ask further questions on here if you get stuck.
    Regards,
    Mike
