Clear items from the listview

Question

How can we clear all the items displayed on a list view (data set by an ObservableList)
Is there a way to get the index of the last item posted on the listview from the Observable list?
In that case, something like this could achieve that result:
obsList.remove(0, lastIndexof(listview))
There must be an easy way to do this.
