Clicks in audio

I hear clicks in the audio whenever I watch a video on youtube or such video sites in Firefox but not in Internet Explorer or Google Chrome. The headset I have is a Steelseries Siberia V2 and with that I use the Steelseries USB Soundcard.
== This happened ==
Every time Firefox opened
== I got my new USB headset

Was this an Analog or Digital transfer (s/pdif)?
If digital you will need to lock the Tascam to the incoming digital clock embedded in the s/pdif signal.
Also, if digital, only a single cable is used from the MOTU s/pdif out to the Tascam s/pdif in.

  • Record click as Audio Track

    I have Logic Pro 9.1.6
Can someone explain the process for recording the click as audio so I can export it with the other tracks?
Someone suggested routing the click to an open bus, and then just hit record, but I haven't been successful trying that.  Maybe I don't understand the routing?
I would think this would be something that others need to do as well?

    Hi
It should not matter to record 'internally' via a bus as discussed.
If you do not have an external audio interface, set the Input device to be "Built-In: Line Input" and you should be good to go
    CCT
    Edit:
You may need to reset the Input device to your "usual" setting to return to your 'Normal' setup.
Note also, you will need to click on 'Apply Changes' at the bottom of the Preferences pane

  • When clicking an audio clip on the timeline in Premiere Pro CC 2014, it duplicates it on a different track and makes it impossible to work.

I'm experiencing a disturbing issue as it actually prevents me to do the work in Premiere. I will put as much info as possible:
    1) Project started on a different computer (the editor), PC with Premiere Pro CC,
    2) Now opened on my Imac with Premiere Pro CC 2014,
    3) I am not editing, simply trying to move audio clips on different tracks to export audio tracks only,
    THE ISSUE:
    1) Here is my timeline:
    2) When I select an audio clip to highlight it, Premiere creates a duplicate on a different track:
Note that the clip highlighted in the previous screen cap is the duplicate and I didn't click it, Premiere highlights it as soon as it is duplicated.
    3) When I click out of the timeline or scroll up or down on the timeline, the duplicates disappear. However, when I try to move the original clips, it doesn't do anything, they are stuck in place.
    ANTICIPATED ANSWERS:
    1) You work on 2 different computers with 2 different versions of Premiere Pro CC, what do you expect? --> The amazing thing about Adobe CC is that it shouldn't be an issue and now I have to deal with it in this way,
    2) Try and save an updated version of your project from your computer. --> Already done that.
Thank you for your help. I usually use the customer support chat but I am on the other side of the globe and it is now closed. This issue prevents me to work so I need to solve it quickly.
    Kind regards,
    Aurelien

This sounds to me like it could be a graphics related problem are you on the latest driver. Something else you could try, start a new project and import the one from the PC into that rather than directly opening it in the MAC

  • Audible Click Between Audio Clips

Running PP 5.5. Editing an AVCHD project with seperately-recorded WAV audio files. Dropping the various audio clips of the various scenes into the timeline and I keep getting clicks between the audio clips upon playback and export. There are no empty frames between the clips, nor any overlapping clips. Even looping a single audio clip in Audition results in a click at the beginning of each clip. In either PP or Audition the clicks are only audible when playing normal speed. Scrub through the timeline with the arrow keys and the clicks are not present.
Ramping up/down the gain at the head/tail of the files still results in clicks between the clips. Doesn't matter if the clips are in the same track. It seems to be a file access issue and not an actual audio track sound, except that when I export the movie the clicks become part of the audio track of the exported movie. Except for these audio clicks everything is working perfectly.
I just upgraded from PP CS4. Opening up a copy of this project in PP CS4 and I have no audio clicks.
    I'm stumped...
    Any ideas?
    Thanks in advance.
I have a very fast computer:
    i7 - 980x
    24GB RAM
Dual SSD HDD's in raid 0 for OS
    Quad 2TB 7200RPM HDD's in raid 0 for files
Dual GTX 460 Fermi Video Cards
    PP 5.5 (5.2) Legit
    W7P x64

Audio is encoded in samples per second (e.g. 48000) and video is played back in frames per second (e.g. 24). There are significantly more audio samples than there are individual video frames and Premiere cuts to the nearest video frame, so there may be instances where the cut point occurs in the middle of a very short sound that you would have barely noticed in the full-length recording.
This is a problem I have experienced in all NLEs; it is not just limited to Premiere. The easiest way of solving it is to add a short cross-fade at the beginning of the audio clip.

  • IDVD closes unexpectedly when I click the audio button

I have had the most horrible time using this new iDVD software to burn a picture CD. I have chosen to use the Magic DVD option and I am thrilled aout the outcome but everytime I click on the add audio button the program instantly closes and all of my work is gone. I have tried to close out and reboot but nothing...Please help!!!!

    Hi Adam
No not knowing but just suggesting what to try till someone that knows
    gives the correct answer.
    - Delet iDVD pref file: -->/Users/YourName**/Library/Preferences/com.apple.iDVD.plist
    - Clean out/Erase the Media File - in iDVD under advanced menu
    - Repair Permissions (Apple Disk Util tool)
    - Repair Hard disk (Apple Disk Util tool) - You need to start from CD/DVD or
    one external hard disk
    - Eventually: Start a new account - log into this and re-try.
    Other origins are version conflicts:
    OS X.3.9 + iDVD 5.0.1 + QT 6.5.2 = stable working environment (if possibly)
    OS X.4.9 + iDVD 6.0.3 + QT 7.1.5 = also OK
Just to start with till the real gurus hit the bulls eye.

  • IDVD quits every time I click on audio

After inserting photos and movies into my slideshow, every time I click on the audio button the iDVD program instantly quits. Please help.

    Hello houston,
Remove the following files to the trash and then restart your computer
    ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.idvd.plist
    ~/Library/Caches
This will reset iDVD to the factory default state. Make a new project and then try click on the Audio button. If this works you can re-open your original project by going to File > open > Documents in iDVD.
    Hope that helps.

  • Clicks in audio recording with midi

If I have an audio instrument open, and am playing via midi, at the same time as I am recording audio, I get clicks in the audio. This wasn't always the case.
    Does anyone else get this?

    try increasing your buffer size.

  • Clicks in audio on transfer

This problem arose whilst transferring files recorded in Logic into a Tascam HDP2 though I don't think thatthe latter is the problem. Essentially, when I play back files in the Tascam that were recorded in Logic, I get several clicks in the audio. Files that I've received from elsewhere recorded using ProTools seem fine when transferred. Also, the files I've recorded in Logic actually play back fine if I move them to a PC and play back using Audition.
Could this be related to the way that different DAWs interpret time-stamping?
These are 24-bit 44.1 WAVs though I note that the icon created by Logic for the files is its own rather than the usual WAV icon.
    Any ideas? Thanks.

  • Popping and clicking in audio - PE7

When I use a Canon XL1 (the first generation of the XL series) and capture the video into PE7 via firewire there is all kinds of pops & clicks in the audio. I have tried it on different computers and still get the same thing. It doesn't matter if I use the same camera to play back the recorded tape, or from a stand-alone DV deck, or even a different camera- it's still there. It even happens if I record live video right into PE7 with this Canon camera.
You can hear a sample of what it sounds like if you watch my video at this link. This is a pretty good example of what it sounds like.
It normally doesn't happen right away on the timeline. It sometimes fades in and out too. Someone told me that maybe the audio setting in PE7 might be defaulting to 48,000 and the setting on my firewire card in the computer might be defaulting to 44,100 (or visa-versa)? I couldn't find anyway to change that on my computer.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

The audio is fine when I connect the camera up to monitor. It isn't the lav mic that I was using as I have used that lav mic a dozedn times before and since then. The only time it happens is when I capture video from that camera via firewire into PE7. The lav mic is a Sony 55 head which has a balanced XLR cable plugged directly into the Canon; no adaptors inline which would take the audio signal down to unbalanced. Like I said, there no problems with the mic as use that mic all of the time. Plus, it'll do the same thing even if I use the on board camera mic, and capture that audio via firewire.
If you listen right when the woman starts speaking on the video you can CLEARLY hear the popping and clicking in the audio. Like I said in the earlier post, it comes and goes, which is why you don't hear it throughout the entire video. The way I have gotten around the problem is by running the audio/video through an analog to digital (firewire) convertor and then record it into PE7. No problems in the audio then because I am polaying it back analog. That is one step I would like to bypass as it degrades the video and audio signal.
I believe it might be a hardware/software setting someplace in PE7. Something isn't syncing up.

  • Click to audio track!`

I want to record the click to an audio track so as to pan it to one side for my drummer to track to. Possible?

    Hi,
the click is called the "Klopfgeist" software instrument, which you can also use as a standalone instrument. Just fire it up and make a simple 4-beat click track and loop it.
However, you can go to your mixer and select to view all tracks. There you'll see the "Click" track, which you should be able to pan to the left or right as you wish.

  • Recording click to audio track

I have a guitar part that I want to record with a click. I want to be able to take the click track with me. I tried re assigning an audio track to MIDI click and tried recording just the click, but it captures nothing. basically I want to just record the click to a track. How is this done? thanks

Assign the Klopfgeist to an instrument track, open the piano roll editor and write four 1/4 note (if you want an accent on the first beat raise the velocity of the first note).
Now send the output of the track (from the channel strip) to a bus, create an audio track and set it's input to the bus that you chose.
Arm the record button and record a 4/4 measure.
Cut the region and, from the mini menu Audio, choose open in Apple Loops Utility.
Create your Apple Loop click and save it into the loop library: now you have your audio click as an Apple loop so you can use it everytime you need and at any speed.
But it's simpler if you find a single shot Apple loop and use it without to begin from start.

  • Pops or Clicks in Audio

iMovie is putting audio clicks every now and then in the music that I import. Anybody else experience that and any way to deal with it?

    Hi
    A. Using strange file format can give strange results.
    • .mp3, .avi, .wmv etc. (even if they been in iTunes)
I copy out from iTunes as an .aiff audio-CD - then use this in iMovie or
as .aiff in any other audio editing program.
    B. When You have two clips in TimeLine and apply a transition the audio often
    get problematic.
Cure: Select the two video clips. Go to Advance menu - Extract audio. THEN apply
Your transition. Now the sound is not affected but can be fine tuned manually.

  • Click Button Audio

    Hi
Does anyone know how to have a Captivate 3 Click Button play
the audio attached to it more than once? ie Each time the user
clicks the same button the same audio plays. Upto now I can only
    get it playing once.
    Thanks
    kevin

    Hi Rick
Ummm, the very default nature of a Button or a Click Box object
is to pause the slide. This stops it dead in its tracks until
another action causes it to continue playing. You are mentioning
using Buttons, so I would assume the slide would be paused. Are you
    saying this isn't the case?
No the timeline doesn't stop - I am trying in preview mode
Also, where exactly are you attaching the audio for the button?
You actually can have different audio for each different button if
you want. So I'm a bit confused.
Via the Button Audio properties - different audio yes but you
can only play each one once and before the timeline runs out
I'm further confused by your asking about adding programmability
into Captivate. Near as I can tell, you are asking for some form of
a scripting language, yet advising you certainly don't want one of
the existing scripting languages to be used. So how would you
perceive this working? Can you describe your "dream case"
    scenario?
I find actionscript totally complicated and trying to use
help to get info on how to do the simplest of things is often a
nightmare. Of the languages used by Macromedia now Adobe I guess
Director Lingo would be the the best option. There however does not
seem to be any integration between Captivate and Director. I guess
because the emphasis seems to be web based rather than desktop or
    CD/DVD.
I am looking for an application to develop learning apps and
had settled on Authorware until Adobe's bombshell that they were
discontinuing it. Unfortunately there does not seem to be anything
in the Adobe range to replace it - they advocate Captivate - no
programming capability or Director - little or no questioning /
    learning objects, etc
Working with several products is ok BUT wouldn't it be nice
if there was a consistent programming language across the various
    products?
Have you seen what is going on at Microsoft? They seem to be
introducing a range of design packages which appear to all be based
on their core framework and will integrate into Visual Studio so
provide common programming ability using either Visual Basic or C#
both extremely popular languages. Problem is this is very new and
will probably take a few years until all the bugs are ironed out.
My ideal? I guess would be integration and consistency so you
don't have to learn different programming languages to use the
    integration offered

  • Late 2008 MB - Clicking/sparkling audio noise

    Hello,
I have late 2008 Macbook Unibody 5,1 with 8GB RAM and 500G HDD running even 10.7.5 or Maverick 10.9.5 on separate partition.
The problem is that when I connect my D/A converter over the USB port (this one with high speed) and play the music I can hear lots of click and pops - like sparks in the audio stream - usually when I hit pause or when my music player is buffering the file. I am using Audirvana Plus.
Asking here, because maybe someone had similar problems? I tried to connect Windows 7 laptop and nothing like on my Mac - silent without any artifacts in the audio stream. To top it off, those audible sparks are mostly for higher bit rate/sampling files - like 24/96 and 24/192 and on both OSX versions.
Any suggestions or ideas from you, please?
    Regards,
    Krzysztof

Lastly it was enough to connect the DAC to USB port, wait till discovered by the system, change sound output to its Tenor receiver, open MIDI App and change resolution to 24/96. Clicks audible, change to 24/44 - nothing. What the heck!?

  • Pops and clicks in audio from dock output

When listening to my 8GB Nano via the headphone jack, the sound is perfect and free of problems. But when I connect to a dock device such as a Bose Sounddock or Tivoli iSongbook (both of which use the audio pass-through of the dock) I hear periodic pops and clicks, almost like a bad FM radio. The noises are random and not repeatable - sometimes several minutes will pass without any noises and then there will be 3 of them in a brief period. They are more noticeable on quieter material, not surprisingly.
The exact same music files played on my old 3G iPod (15GB) through the same dock devices exhibit no unwanted noises at all.
The only functional difference between these 2 iPods is that the old one will charge in the docks (it is the old Firewire-charging flavor) while of course the new Nano chromatic will not as it supports only USB charging. I understand this, but don't see why that should affect the audio.
Anyone else notice this? Should I drop by my local Apple Store to see what they say??

That's odd to be sure. What you should have seen if you clicked the link to the Wish Form/Bug Reporting Form is that a web page opens that allows you to choose whether you are reporting a bug or asking for a feature. I don't belive you receive any E-Mail message notification. This makes me wonder exactly what link you clicked.
