Client Oracle 11 g deploy in MDT

I am trying to install with MDT Oracle Client 11g. In MDT>Applications, I have created one aplications with this comand
setup.exe -silent -noconsole -noconfig -nowait -responseFile .\install.rsp
Application do not install, but there is not error in smsts.log. Any idea?

You'll need to break down application installation, for every application you want to install.
My approach is always:
1. install the application through the gui, and see if there is a configure.ini or .xml file available which can be used for automatic installation
2. open a command prompt and type: setup.exe /? to see if any installation parameters are provided
3. search the application vendor's knowledge base
4. perform an installation from the command prompt
5. perform an installation in a custom task sequence
6. perform the actual installation during deployment
This wil save you allot of time and headaches
Cheers!
Lastly, this question belongs on the oracle support forum. Since it's actually not an MDT related problem.

    FAQ: RWMS 13.2 Installation and Configuration (Doc ID 1307639.1)

  • 11g Instant Client Oracle.DataAccess 2.111.6.20 vs Full Client 2.111.6.0

    My .NET app was developed on a computer where 11g Instant Client Oracle.DataAccess 2.111.6.20 was installed. I copied the application code to another computer where the 11g Full Client Oracle.DataAccess 2.111.6.0 was installed. When I tried to run it I get the following error:
    An unhandled exception of type 'System.TypeIntializationException' occured in System.dll
    The type initializer for 'Oracle.DataAccess.Client.OracleConnection' threw and exception
    My .NET app requires the use of sqlldr which does not come with 11g Instant Client so I'm trying to get it to run on another computer with the 11g Full Client which includes sqlldr.
    The appilcation was built referencing the Oracle.DataAccess 2.111.6.20 on the computer with 11g Instant Client but the app needs to run on a computer where sqlldr is installed which is on another computer with 11g Full Client Oracle.DataAccess 2.111.6.0.
    Am I going to have to install the 11g Full Client Oracle.DataAccess 2.111.6.0 on the development computer to get the app to work or what?

    Thanks Mark
    The 2.111.6.20 version is already on our production server so I can't replace it. The app that uses sqllder ony runs two weeks out of a year so I'm thinking that I can set up another dev computer(dev2) with the full client and run the app from there. I may try installing both clients but I'm not sure how that will work out yet. I'm still looking into deploying 2.111.6.20 from dev to dev2 like the option 1 you suggested but coping the file from the GAC of dev to dev2 is more involved than I expected. I'm also trying to get the development tools VS2008 installed on dev2 to try option 2 as you suggested.
    Configuration
    dev 11g Instant Client Oracle.DataAccess 2.111.6.20
    prod 11g Instant Client Oracle.DataAccess 2.111.6.20
    dev2 11g Full Client Oracle.DataAccess 2.111.6.0
    Thank you,
    Keith

    Windows 8.1 u1 Broken Windows/Metro apps when WIM deployed via MDT
    Windows 8.1 Enterprise - update 1, x64bit with latest updates installed.
    I am having a similar problem to thread (Sysprep
    and Windows 8.1 -- missing Metro apps after reboot?).  Although slightly different so starting a new one.  Not missing however a set of them do not install completely and display "error - this app cant install".  Certain windows
    apps fail install, mail, video,  We use vmware ESX 5.5 to capture our image.   When I deploy the image to VMware environment, all apps install successfully, when we deploy to any laptop, certain apps
    fail to install.  They display X beside them.  The workaround is to sign into windows live account and install them.
    I do have a custom start layout installed via a deploy task sequence (using command POWERSHELL -NonInteractive -Command Import-StartLayout -LayoutPath .\CustomStartLayout.bin -MountPath %SystemDrive%\)
    Disabling the custom layout import does not solve the issue.
    Any ideas?

    #### Cannot run application adfm-new due to error deploying to DefaultServer.
    [Application adfm-new stopped and undeployed from Server Instance DefaultServer]

    Deployment issue is not specific to mobile - do you see the same deployment issue when trying to run this application using a desktop browser?
    This may be caused by Windows Firewall settings - please make sure there is no firewall software blocking localhost:port access - in this access it appears to be localhost:7102.
    Firewall issue can also prevent you from accessing the application from a mobile emulator - Windows Mobile emulator acts as its own network device, and needs to access the integrated WLS server in JDev through the network.
    Lastly, when testing in Windows Mobile emulator, please use the IP address of the machine you are running JDeveloper in the URL. Windows mobile emulator does not understand "localhost".

  • Is it bad practice to capture an image that was deployed from mdt after adjustment?

    is it bad practice to capture an image that was deployed from mdt after adjustment?
    or there is no any consequences?
    &quot;When you hit a wrong note it's the next note that makes it good or bad&quot;. Miles Davis

    During years I never captured the image deployed from mdt.
    Today was a rush.
    The request:
    to install time consuming configuration application into the image.
    I restored acronis image that used during couple of weeks for captures after small changes.
    And decided to capture it again before the installation of local progam and final capture.
    It failed after multiple trials. I posted the error yesterday here:
    http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/windowsserver/en-US/a702bf17-8375-4bc7-b458-8ce4894f99e9/error-2147467259-during-capture?forum=mdt
    As a last tip before suggesting to deploy existing image and sysprep it 20 times I deployed the image from MDT applied just Windows KBs and captured again with MDT it worked without any prob.
    So against my usual habit I gave a deployd image for installing the tricky software and then will capture it for future deployment for 20 "special" computers. Feel not so good. But like you told:
    "Will it hurt anything?  Probably not"     I took a chance. In the image no AV, just small things like 7Z and Adobe.
    Encourage me for this case :)
    Thanks.

  • Remove Persistent Network Drive Z:\MDTLogs$ after Complete Deployment through MDT

    Hi
    I just completed  my Windows 7 Deployment using MDT 2013. I use a Light Touch installation. After completing i log into my computer, everything looks
    fine. But I have a persistent Network Drive Z:\MDTLogs$(Shared folder for MDT Logs on MDT Server). I don't want permanently have this Network Drive mapped.
    Is there an way to disable this in the Deployment Workbench or similar?
    CS.ini for MDT Logs location on MDT server
    SLShare=\\192.168.1.10\MDTLogs$\%ComputerName%
    SLShareDynamicLogging=\\192.168.1.10\MDTLogs$\%ComputerName%
    Shailendra Dev

    Hi,
    LTICleanup is supposed to remove mapped drive at the end of a deployment.
    Check what the logs say in C:\windows\temp\deployment logs\
    You can also try to add to your customsettings.ini file the variable FinishAction=Restart
    Other problem could be a remaining of the default profile, check this post: http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/b6e79f90-241c-4878-81c5-bc1800004f1b/mdt-copyprofile-and-network-drive?forum=mdt#0d21ff7a-d346-42bc-883e-be67cbefbb84

  • Jdk 1.2 clients running ejb deployed on oracle 8.1.5

    Oracle claims that it is possible to run jdk 1.2 clients with ejb on oracle 8.1.5 in the faq : http://technet.oracle.com/products/oracle8i/htdocs/jserver_faq/815faq0012.html
    If you have JDK1.2 on the client side and:
    8.1.5 clients connecting to an 8.1.5 server: This does not work, because of conflicts with the ORB supplied in JDK1.2.
    8.1.5 clients connecting to an 8.1.6 server: This does not work, because of conflicts with the ORB supplied in JDK1.2.
    8.1.6 clients connecting to an 8.1.5 server: This works provided the "server" portion of the application is developed/loaded using the client side tools and jars that are supplied with 8.1.5.
    What do they meen with 8.1.6 clients? and how to make 8.1.6 clients?

    Oracle 8.1.6's JVM uses JDK 1.2. Oracle's 8.1.6 JDBC drivers support JDBC2 and JDK2. The 8.1.6 drivers are available for download from OTN under the Technologies section.
    If you develop a client (application, applet, servlet, JSP, etc.) using the Oracle 8.1.6 JDBC drivers, then this is considered an Oracle 8.1.6 client.

  • Office365(Click to Run) Deployment with MDT Offline Media

    Hi,
    I have a scenario where i have to deploy Office365 using click to run with MDT offline media. Now the problem is with configuration.xml file in which we specify the source path of office files.
    Here in this scenario as i have to deploy client machines with offline media, so in this case what will be the path in the config.xml file?
    For testing purpose, after downloading the office source files, placed the setup.exe,config.xml file and office source folder in a same folder. Here is the config.xml file that i am using
    <Configuration>
    <Add SourcePath=" " OfficeClientEdition="32" >
        <Product ID="O365ProPlusRetail">
          <Language ID="en-us" />
        </Product>
      </Add>
    </Configuration>
    In source path, i leave it blank,so that it will use the office source files which was saved in the same folder.
    Then in MDT server, created a new application for Office365.In command line used the command :- setup.exe /config configuration.xml
    Created a new task sequence for OS deployment and added the step install application for installation of Office365.
    After creating a selection profile for the deployment, created a offline media for deployment of client machine.
    Now while i am running the offline media on the bare-metal machine, after OS installation the deployment got stuck at step install Office 365. Got error message pop up, according to which internet connection needed during installation process so that the
    click to run set-up will download the office source files, It means this will not use the previously downloaded file which was saved in the same folder.
    So this is what my problem is.. How can i customize the configuration.xml file so that i can install office 365 with offline media.
    Regards
    Pallavi

    <Add SourcePath=" "
    ....In source path, i leave it blank,so that it will use the office source files which was saved in the same folder.
    As per
    https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/jj219426.aspx#BKMK_AddElement
    SourcePath indicates the installation source path from which to install Office when you run the Office Deployment Tool in
    configure mode. If you don’t specify SourcePath in
    configure mode, Setup will look in the current folder for the Office source files. If the Office source files aren’t found in the current folder, Setup will look on Office 365 for them
    So, for the /configure mode, you should remove the Sourcepath element completely - do not specify as <space>

    Looks like EPMA batch client in 11.1.2.1 does not have any mention of some of the options available through workspace. Options like LOADID, Fully Deploy and Clear Metadata are no where to be found.
    Has anyone found work arounds for these? Kindly share your thoughts.

    First log an enhancement ticket with Oracle.
    Your next move is to find someone that can hack the Java code and perform non-Oracle approved customizations -- in my experience this can be as easy as four hours of research and work or could take quite a bit longer -- then you have to ask if you are paying for this work is it worth a few thousand dollars of time if you don't have these skills in your company to leverage and also if you ever do patching the customization needs to be remade and may not be as easy as the first time.

  • How to run a pure java application client with ear deployed on 9ias

    Hello all,
    We want to run a pure java application client which is packed with target bean in the same ear file. In the application-client.xml we refer to some EJBs.
    We deployed the ear file which contains ejb jar module and application client module to oracle 9ias 904 through enterprise manager on unix. The jndi.properties we used looks like this
    java.naming.factory.initial=com.evermind.server.rmi.ApplciationClientInitialContextFactory

    java.naming.security.principal=test

    Is there anybody knows how to run such an application client? Do we need to provide such a jndi.properties or not at all?

    I did not try myself, but what may help is to pass the -Djava.io.tmpdir=/tmp parameter to JDeveloper. I know this helped with some other problems related to the latest Mac JDK update. The problem is that this update uses a different temp dir, which contains some weird characters, and not all software is prepared for those.
