Closing input-tag missing in html-output

Hi,
I'm using a stylesheet for making an input-form. This works very well. But I have one problem:
In the stylesheet is <input type="text" ...></input>
But in the output is it only <input type="text" ...>
Why?
I want to have xhtml an not only html.

Thanks Eric.
I found a similar solution:
<xsl:output method="xml" indent="yes" encoding="UTF-8" media-type="text/html" omit-xml-declaration="yes"
doctype-system="http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd"
doctype-public="-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" />
The xml declaration has an effect in IE5. Therefore I'am using omit-xml-declaration="yes"

  • DW CS4 not closing input tags properly when no doctype declared

    Hi,
I often write code in PHP that is going to be included, because of this, I dont use the HTML, BODY, DOCTYPE tags on the include file (usually a form) that I'm working on.
If I add input fields, they are closed with a '>' instead of a '/>'
Is there any way to correct this behavior?
    thanks

When you create a new page in DW select XHTML 1.0 Transitional...then get rid of the excess code you don't want before typing in your include code.

  • Missing closing paragraph tags

Well this is a conundrum. The closing paragraph tag (i.e.
</p>) which is considered optional and which Dreamweaver does
not automatically insert at the end of a paragraph makes a
difference to Internet Explorer (at least version 7.0 which I
previewed the page in). Without the closing tag, IE does not add
space btw paragraphs. I created many web pages recently and
previewed everything in Firefox. I wasn't sure what the client was
talking about when they complained that I was removing spaces btw
paragraphs. I had to go back by hand and insert the missing tags.
Has anyone else run into this problem? Why would a tag that
is so essential be considered optional? Any way just make sure that
    you close your paragraphs!

You should choose a doctype that's consistent with your
    coding ability.
This one is fine unless you are an advanced coder.

  • Html input tags

why doesn't the jsf <input_text> tag generate a correctly terminated html <input> tag?
It leaves off the closing /, ie,
    <input type="text" name="vendor_name" maxlength="25" size="50">
    instead of
    <input type="text" name="vendor_name" maxlength="25" size="50"/>

The standard renderKit renders HTML and not XHTML. XHTML requires a webpage to be a well-formed XML document, HTML doesn't. I hope that several renderkits will be provided in the final release.

  • HTML output and missing graph

I am developing a report having a graph in BI Publisher 10.1.3.3.0. When the report o/p is genereated to PDF, the graph is showing up, but the same report doesnt return the chart in HTML output (it shows small icon in the place of graph). I followed Tim Dexter's blog http://blogs.oracle.com/xmlpublisher/2006/10/31 here. But, I didnt understand where i need to make the settings for 'Base image URI' and 'Image file directory' .
In the Runtime configuration properties for this report, under HTML output, I see the foll.
    -show header
    -show footer
    -replace smart quotes
    -character set
    -make HTML output accessible
-user percentage width for table columns.
I even tried the o/p in excel and rtf but, the graph is missing in the o/p as well.
    Thanks in advance

Can someone help me how to get the graph in HTML?

  • Missing closing body tag

    Hello,
I'm seeing an issue that has been mentioned a couple of times in this forum, but hasn't been resolved -- at least no final resolution is posted.
The behavior is that the closing body tag is missing from rendered pages which use the ui:body tag. This does not appear to be related to tiles of jsp fragments specifically.
I am posting an identical question to the JSF forums since this is a component from the webui jar.
Thanks so much for listening and please post if you know anything about this issue and its resolution.

I am getting this too. My pages are all designed as flow-layout with embedded group panels. All my group panels have "block" set (making them divs).
I have made the following observations.
If a page is navigated to by typing the url into the browser address bar, or by clicking on a hyperlink (with no action defined) then the page is rendered without a closing body tag </body>
If a page is navigated to by clicking on a link which has an action defined, then the resultant page is rendered with a closing body tag.
In addition I have noticed that if you have group panels embedded in each other, some with block set (div), and others with block not set (span) then the closing tags sometimes do not match e.g. you may get two opening tags like <div><span> but the closing tags will be </div></div> which can cause no end of formatting issue. As a workaround I make all my group panels blocks so that this does not happen.

  • How add new HTML5 input tags to Insert,Form menu and Insert,Tag,HTML?

how do I add new HTML5 input tags to the Insert,Form menu and Insert,Tag,HTML tags menus of dw cs5?

  • Missing a single space in html output

    Hello to all,
take a look at the following code copied from a View
<% DATA: eins TYPE STRING VALUE 'ClassEins',
zwei TYPE STRING VALUE 'ClassZwei'. %>
    <span id="Test1" class="<%=eins%> ClassZwei">test it</span>
    <span id="Test2" class="ClassEins <%=zwei%>">test it</span>
it works fine if compression is set to NONE, but if compression is set to 1 (remove spaces) or 2 (remove spaces, CR, LF) the html output looks like this:
    <span id="Test1" class="ClassEinsClassZwei">test it</span>
    <span id="Test2" class="ClassEins ClassZwei">test it</span>
Where is the single space? What’s wrong? Why is the first space removed, but the second isn’t?

    Thilo,
At this stage we are not planning a kernel patch, unless your business case is really pressing. (In which case update OSS message so that rethink why nein is the right answer.) We have actually spend a number of hours to find where this is stripped (by accident), and see that the price to fix this, is very high for us. The truth is that this is a minor problem that only happens when you active the additional compression, where our first suggestion would be to just skip the compression for this page. (All of this been said, we will keep it on the toDo list, and see if can get the resources at same stage to dive into kernel development again.)
(Just for interest, not even myself could remember where some of this code is executed. Your problem provided a nice trip down memory lane!)
As for the back tics, they are string literals, and are space sensitive in ABAP. An example:
      CONCATENATE 'a ' 'b ' 'c ' INTO s. --> s = "abc".
      CONCATENATE `a ` `b ` `c ` INTO s. --> s = "a b c ".
The nice thing about this is that it is now possible to write in ABAP strings that contain <b>both</b> HTML and JavaScript all in one:
      s = `<body onload="myFunc('JSparm');">`.
We use " and ' for the HTML and JavaScript, and the ` to build the ABAP string. Makes the Java colleagues just jealous of our writing style:)

  • Report data ( value ... tag) missing in the Webi report retrieved through RestFul Webservice

I am trying the below URL to get the WEBi report from SAP BO using the Rest Webservice support that is now available.
    http://{serverIP:serverPort}/biprws/raylight/v1/documents/{documentId}
I am able to get the report but as I compare the same report response when using SAOP Webservice, there seems to be a mismatch in the response. Here is what I see in the SOAP response:
    </td><td c="1" ><cell  ref="1.E.4t" bid="14" h="26" w="231" pad="6,7" sid="-10"><ct >Some arbitrary value</ct><value type="xs:string">Some arbitrary value</value></cell>
But when I run it through REST, I am missing the <value ..> tag:
    </td><td c="1" ><cell  ref="1.E.4t" bid="14" h="26" w="231" pad="6,7" bt="1" sid="-10"><ct >Some arbitrary value</ct></cell>
Apart from this right at the start of the xml response, I see some property mismatch as well.
    SOAP has this property extra:
    <property name="output.format.xml.valuemode">yes</property>
While REST has these property extra:
    <property name="output.format.xml.option.style">1</property>
    <property name="output.format.xml.styledict.fontplatform">html</property>
    <property name="output.format.xml.td.bandinfo">yes</property>
    <property name="source.selected">data</property>
    <property name="xelement.xml.object">yes</property>
    <property name="xelement.xml.object.usemap">yes</property>
    <property name="xelement.xml.object.usersupportedformat">image/png</property>
    I am not sure if:
the <value ...> tag miss is because of these missing/extra properties or
current REST support has some issues
For my application the value tag is a must and I can't do without this, but with REST it seems no way to obtain that.
Any help or pointer(s) in this regard is appreciated!

    Hello Milind,
According to our Product Owner Sam Polichouk, the solution should be available for you in 4.1 SP3, which is currently scheduled for release by the end of March 2014 (subject to change).  The product team recommends that you get the raw, unformatted data values from within the Dataset specific call.  This data contains a type to tell the end user what kind of data it is, so you can format it or use it properly.
The updated documentation for the SDK will be available at SAP BusinessObjects Business Intelligence platform 4.1 – SAP Help Portal Page once the Support Pack is publicly released.

  • Non-closing PHP tags in includes?

    Hi,
This post is directly targetted at David Powers, who is often here (but, of course, could interest others)...
I'm currently reading the book "Adobe Dreamweaver CS5 with PHP Training From The Source" and I just came accross a strange affirmation:
on page 184, in the "Why the Next Page Doesn't Always Load" sidebar, in the third bullet you state: "If the include file contains only PHP code, remove the closing PHP tag. This is not only legitimate, it's the recommended best practice."... jaw dropping... I've never seen that...
I need more explanations... Why would it be recommended? Wouldn't it break the code (particularly PHP) since there's an opening tag but not a closing one? That means that we could have a lot of opening tags without closing tags? Why would it be different from the code that is "inside" the page, for as far as I know it, includes "include" the code into the page "before running it"? So, doesn't PHP "sees" the same thing whether the code is "embed" in the page or included via the include statement?
Lot of questions, but I need more details, 'cause I'm not sure a Google research on that topic would give me any results...
    Nelson

Nate has already given you the explanation. If you want the chapter and verse, take a look at the following page in the PHP Manual: http://docs.php.net/manual/en/language.basic-syntax.instruction-separation.php. It says in part:
"The closing tag of a PHP block at the end of a file is optional,  and in some cases omitting it is helpful when using include() or require(), so unwanted whitespace will  not occur at the end of files, and you will still be able to add  headers to the response later. It is also handy if you use output buffering, and would not like to see added unwanted whitespace  at the end of the parts generated by the included files."
The Zend Framework Coding Standard for PHP goes much further on the the following page: http://framework.zend.com/manual/en/coding-standard.php-file-formatting.html
"For files that contain only PHP code, the closing tag ("?>") is  never permitted. It is not required by PHP and omitting it  prevents the accidental injection of trailing white space into the response."
The "never permitted" applies only to files being submitted to the Zend Framework.
If anything comes after the PHP code in a file, you must use the closing tag. It's only when the file ends with PHP that you can omit it.

  • Getting an HTML output

Suppose I have a table named Item, and the following are the data in that table:
    item_code item_desc
    01 Pencil
    02 (B)Crayon(/B)
    03 Notebook
    04 (I)Scissors(/I)
The data itself can have HTML tags, like in the above, Crayon is Bold, Scissors is Italic. Please note that I deliberately used parenthesis in this post instead of greater than and less than signs, just to prevent this forum from applying the tags. But in the actual table, the appropriate tags and signs are used.
I am using Report Builder 10.1.2.0.2, and I created a simple tabular report with desformat=html
When I view the html output in a browser, I see that the tags were not translated into html tags.
The output that I wanted is like this:
    01 Pencil
    02 Crayon
    03 Notebook
    04 Scissors
What I wanted when I view the html output in a browser, is for the data to have the html tags applied to them (if they have it).
    Can it be done? How?

Yes, it's a simple Yes switch on the field property named Contains HTML Tags
