Cloud overseas

I want to set use cloud whilst overseas and use it by paying with a local credit card but I cannot change my location of my adobe ID. Can i pay for the cloud services using paypal?

Hi Digital Ear,
You will need to contact Adobe support if your Adobe ID is associated with an incorrect country. I believe credit card is the only accepted payment method for membership but you can confirm with support.

    I give up,i have been trying to activate a 3 month subscription for CS6 from Staples and every time i try the code it will not work.  I have used the chat live and spent about 3 hours already going nowhere.  I do not like talking on the phone to some help desk overseas and the only thing i think left to do is to return the junk.

    I tried all that and even took a picture of the numbers and blew them up so a blind person could read them and had 3 others read them off.  A simple way to fix the problem is get someone on Adobes staff to find a font that most people can read from whatever product the stick it to.

    Hey John,
    Not sure if it helps or not, but I know sometimes with codes like that its really hard to tell certain characters apart, O - like in Oscar versus 0 - number and number 1 versus lowercase L like in Lima.
    Might test entering it both ways if you have any suspect characters?

  • Upgrade to Creative Cloud 7 days ago - still no access to full products customer service not helpful

    I upgraded to the full Creative Cloud access on the 13th of April through customer service. I saw a promotional offer for $29.99/month for access to all the CC apps, but since I was already signed up for Premiere Pro CC at $19.99/month it said I needed to speak to customer service to upgrade.
    I did that. The customer service rep upgraded my service to $29.99/month and assured me that I would now have access to the full creative suite.
    You can see that I was billed for $29.99 on April 13th:
    After that upgrade nothing changed on my end. I had full access to Adobe Premiere CC like before, but otherwise all other programs(photoshop, illustrator, etc) still downloaded and ran as trial versions. I contacted customer service two more times. They were unable to resolve the problem and only escalated the ticket.
    I have not had any response from either ticket. And looking at it now it looks like one of them is listed as "withdrawn" with no notes from Adobe's end and no resolution to my problem. The other ticket is still open pending Adobe's response.
    To top it all off today in Premiere CC I received a notice that I would lose access to Premiere in 5 days because of some error in the billing information. So in 5 days time I will be paying $29.99/month and have access to zero Adobe products.
    So I'm writing this post in hopes of actually getting someone that can solve my problems to take a look. I don't want to spend another 2 hours in a chat-box with an overseas customer service rep who only copys and pastes pre-formatted responses to me. I don't want my ticket escalated and then ignored. I want the service that I paid for, or I want my money refunded.
    What I think happened is that the customer service rep who upgraded my membership to the full creative cloud suite forgot to flip some switch. It seems like they increased my billing rate but didn't actually change my subscription.
    Here's the picture that shows exactly what service shows up in my account:

    Please don't tell me to try logging out of creative cloud, or deleting files on my end, or check my DNS settings, or any of that. I've been through it - twice - with your customer service reps already. It did nothing. The issue is on Adobe's side. Somewhere in some database my account is not set to full creative cloud access. There is nothing I can do on my end to rectify this.
    Please - I would either like this rectified, or have my money refunded. Anything else is unacceptable. And as a whole my experience with customer service has been frustrating, unhelpful, and not up to the standards I expect from a high-class company like Adobe.

    Have you logged out of your Cloud subscription and then back in?

  • Backing up in The Cloud

    Thought I'd share my experiences to date of using these marvellous Infinity upload speeds (16Mbps in my case) to do stuff that in practice was pretty well impossible before. For example, doing major backups into The Cloud - more than a DVD's worth, 5GB+.
    First I had to find a cloud drive that would store these amounts of data for free, well Dropbox was out as it won't, so I tried GoogleDrive and MS SkyDrive. I haven't tried Amazon yet - all three will take 5GB of data (7GB for SkyDrive).
    First I tried GoogleDrive as it appears to support the largest individual file sizes but i was disappointed with the upload speeds, just over 3Mbps at best. I didn't try file splitting and concurrent uploads, but I did for SkyDrive - read on.
    Next was SkyDrive, I was hoping for faster upload speeds but no, they were slower - about 2.5Mbps per upload, this was even more disappointing. So I decided to compress all my files into a multi-part zip file, using 7-zip (which is free). Maximum file size on SkyDrive is 300MB using the web interface, so I ended up with 15 zip file parts.
    And finally, some good news. SkyDrive has a simple drag and drop web interface and will allow three concurrent uploads per browser tab. Each upload gets the full 2.5Mbps so that makes 7Mbps. Logging on to the SkyDrive account on two additional tabs, with three more files uploading per tab, lets you max out a 16Mbps connection. It worked like a dream and I now have 5GB of stuff backed up in the cloud. Tonight, I will replace it by an encyrpted version.
    So in practice, you really can use your full upload speed for secure (hopefully) permanent backup in the cloud.
    But I won't be touching Microsoft's (or anyone else's) synchronization software anytime soon - there are too many potential problems that could arise from that. Accidental deletions of everything, for example - SkyDrive has no recycle bin. Thanks MS and Google but no thanks! Other people with different needs will want the synchronization of course, horses for courses, but the point is that fibre makes backing up into the cloud a practical proposition even for large data amounts, but you do have to work at it to use your full upload speeds.

And I'm a lazy so and so so click-click-done suits me down to the ground. And gives me one extra layer of data redundancy (if that's the right word).
    Having another backup option is always nice, though it's disappointing that you have to set up multiple concurrent uploads to use all the Infinity speed.

  • Need a plugin to convert Raw files with CS 6 standalone version. 8.7.1 version of ACR is not compatible with CS 6 in non-cloud form.

    We have a site license for CS6 for our company and for the past year have not been able to convert RAW files from our newer cameras using Adobe Camera Raw. We do not want to use the Cloud version as we work off laptops in the field and overseas and even our offices have only dial-up for internet access where we are located in Monterey.
    Can anyone recommend a plugin raw converter so we can continue to batch process our files with CS 6?

    The camera raw 8.7.1 plugin should work fine in the photoshop cs6 non cloud license version.
    The only exceptions being if you have mac os x 10.6.8 or windows xp/vista, then 8.3 is the newest camera raw plugin that works.
    Which operating system(s) do you have?
    Have you tried Help>Updates from within photoshop cs6 to get the 8.7.1 camera raw plugin.

  • Verizon - CDMA and overseas use with a different GSM iPhone

    I would love to make the switch from AT&T to Verizon. Problem being, as many have noted, that the Verizon phone only supports CDMA. I live overseas 6 months out of the year and have currently been using my unlocked 3G iPhone and have had no problems whatsoever. What are the chances of having two different phones with one account? The 3G being used exclusively for when I am overseas, the iPhone 4 for domestic use.
    Problem being, my unlocked 3G phone is using iOS 3.1.3, whereas the new Verizon phone will be using iOS 4.3. Any way to reconcile this while retaining the same information on both devices?

    What "account" do you mean? Do you mean one account on your computer with one iTunes library? If so, then it will depend on how much trouble you wish to go to. Synching mail, contacts and calendars between iPhone may not be too problematical, depending on how you handle those now. Sharing documents shouldn't be a problem at all, particularly if you use a cloud-based system such as Dropbox. Synching application data, though, could be a serious pain, regularly requiring backing up and restoring back and forth between your iPhones. Difficult to say with any certainty without knowing more about how you use your iPhone now and what apps you use.
    Problem being, my unlocked 3G phone is using iOS 3.1.3, whereas the new Verizon phone will be using iOS 4.3.
    That's going to be a problem if you have to use the backup/restore trick. And you may find apps that won't transfer data between versions, something which may force upgrade of the app and iOS.

    My iphone is toast, I know I checked on icloud and see my emails from the day before it happened. Can I see when and what my phone backed up through itunes or icloud?
    Please please help i am lost.

    This was EXACTLY what I needed about the purchases I made from my device. However, is there a way to re-download other ones you've made from a computer? Because I realized some of them were not just purchased from my device.

  • Illustrator CS6 creative cloud crashes when saving

    I downloaded Illustrator as part of my creative cloud subscription.
    Today when I opened a file I worked on for hours last night, an error message with a lot of unreadable characters showed up.  I relaunched it and redid the work.  Then I went to save, and it crashed with the same error message. 
    Then it asked me to sign in, saying I was using a trial version, even though I was signed in and had been using it.  So I sign in again, make the changes again, save, and it crashes again.  When I open the file, the layers have been altered so that everything is now on one layer.
    This is crazy and is costing me a lot of valuable work.
    Please help.

    Mylenium and Designer - Im using Mac OSX Lion, CS6 downloaded from Creative Cloud.  I can send a snapshot of the error message when I get back into the office.  In terms of workflow, I had worked all night on a project, saved it and had no issue.  The next day when I went to open the file it gave an error message which I'll send and then prompted me to login and now said I was using a trial version.  I logged in again, recreated the work I had done, and when I went to save it, the same error message came up, and it again said I was in a trial version and wasnt logged in.  I logged in again, it worked, and when I opened the file the layers had all been rearraged so that essentially all my assets were on a single layer.  Thats when I started reaching out to support.
    Wade - not sure your question is necessarily the obvious question, nor where your assumptions about what I did and didnt do are coming from, but since you asked, I contacted support 3 times before coming on here, and they were a dead end.  First I called phone support, had them call me back, and the overseas call center was a series of unrelated questions followed by a disconnection.  Chat support started to help me, but after asking two questions, also seemingly unrelated, told me I would have to call phone support for this issue.  I called them a second time, explained the issue in detail, was told they needed 3-4 minutes to research the issue.  I waited 40 minutes on hold before hanging up.

    Creative cloud cost $49.99 per month in the US - which is the equivalent of £31
    In the UK Creative cloud cost £46.88 which is the equivalent of $73
    Sorry why are we charged so much more?

    Looks like a rip off to me.

    Why does the starting price of a MacBook Air differ between the US and the UK. In the US, the price starts at $999, while in the UK it starts at £849 (or $1329.11) That is a 30%+ price difference.
    This is standard for most products and services that originate in the US. First, you have the added UK VAT which is not applicable in the US. Secondly, companies build in a larger margin for their products and services when currency exchange rates need to be factored in. Finally, they also add additional margins to cover the US corporate tax for repatriated income from sales overseas, a tax which is the highest in the industrialised world at over 45% on the net profit.
    So, all these factors make the price in the UK EQUAL to the price in the US in accounting and administrative terms.
    Three things need to change to balance the equation from an end user perspective.
    1. VAT must be eliminated. (This is an EU and UK HMR change...thus highly unlikely).
    2. You will need to be able to choose the currency. (This is something that Adobe can configure to allow the end user to elect what currency they wish to use to make the payment. If you have a UK credit card and elect to pay in US dollars, you will carry the burden of the exchange rate, not Adobe. Having said that, it all depends on how the cost centres of Adobe are set up for accepting multiple currency payments on a per-country basis. I am assuming they do not accept multiple currencies in different jurisdictions and as such, this would require a complete reorganisation of their accounting practices, which may impact their tax obligations, but certainly will impact their financial operations in general, so I believe this will be highly unlikely to change).
    3. The US corporate tax code needs to be simplified and modernised so as it is not a penalty on corporations for earning money abroad. With the current state of stagnation and a Democrat in the White house and a Democrat majority in the Senate, a snowflake in hell has a better chance than any movement on tax reform. The Democrat principles state that corporations are bad, evil and must be subjugated to draconian controls and taxes.

  • Can I install Creative Cloud on a computer if I download the app from a different computer?

    I pre-purchased Cloud and I have been paying every month and I have yet to be able to use it.
    I finally get high speed internet to downoad the programs but the LAN card on my desktop is not working and I cannot fix it.
    I am overseas and I cannot get to a service center, if I relpace the LAN card myself I void the warranty on the computer.
    I can use the highspeed with my laptop, so is it possible to download the apps with my laptop and install on my desktop?

  • How to get rid of Adobe Creative Cloud?

    Woke up to an upgrade of adobe application manager without an option to leave as is and now I have something called adobe creative cloud which I don't want.  How do I reverse the upgrade and re-install adobe application manager?  I don't like the cloud or anything to do with it. 

    You can create a folder named "SCUMSOFTSUCKERS" and place those two icons in that folder and continue enjoying the use of your PlayBook while knowing each day you have corralled them into a corner at least in one man's own little world.
    Or hide that folder icon over on a far panel and never even have to look at it.
    But if you do toss your PlayBook in the bin, let me know... I'd be happy to pass it along to a local less-than-priviledged child or even ship to a soldier serving overseas... might could use to communicate back home.

  • BT Cloud - Uploading Files - Problem

    I just wish to upload and share files using BT Cloud but cannot figure out how it works - which is surprising as I've been in the IT industry for more years than I care to remember - so I don't know how non IT professionals think of it all. I have watched the video on Youtube - it shows an add files button to click and add files. I am not seeing such a button on the screen in front of me - only an "Add to BT Cloud Sync". Can you please advise. If BT Cloud is purely designed for back-up purposes it is not what I am looking for,

    The sharing by email appears to work, using Outlook as a client. I receive similar mails from web mail users overseas which provide links to a website (not BT), showing family photos, videos etc.
    However, I would not use BT Cloud to link to masses of files: it's a matter of personal choice.
    There may be a security problem if you try to send links to exe files.
    Note that the link as sent is https, which the recipient could add to browser favourites.

    It may be that the links to Help are outdated when accessed from within the application. If you go to Help from within the BT Help pages, the results refer to the latest version of BT Cloud.

  • Activate App required despite Cloud Membership

    After six failed attempts to create an App (Built in Single Edition) I need assistance as DPS App Builder is asking me to Activate App, wanting a serial number despite having a complete Adobe Creative Cloud subscription.
    Background:
    I have followed all of the steps in the Step by Step guide and everything is working well - all certificates, Apple ID's etc.
    Also the latest version of DPS App Builder is installed (old copies completely removed) and inDesign up-to-date.
    From within inDesign I click Create App and then follow the wizard in DPS App Builder providing all information/content which works as it should until completing though won't display any downloads instead wants me to activate and provide a serial.
    I have followed the steps to this known problem as provided by Adobe here however this did not work.
    I have also check other forum discussions - most issues seem to be resolved with reinstalling, this has not worked for me.
    Two Items:
    In inDesign I have complete shared access to the folio though did not create the original folio. As we have multiple subscriptions - I have also tested this from the computer where the original folio was created though with the same result.
    Does geo-location have any influence? Adobe recognises the cloud subscription via Acrobat however not via adobe.com where, for the same verified email the subscription of Cloud is missing. We suspect it is because we are currently out of the country where we have our adobe subscription and Adobe may be possibly blocking or redirecting access. If this is the problem - how can it be resolved?

    The problem was resolved in that it was infact an access issue where Adobe has previously required multiple accounts (ie. existing accounts could not be used to buy or subscribe when overseas). In short, the account we generally use was not associated with our cloud subscription (and only licence to CS).
    The lesson learnt is that multiple email addresses / accounts need to be carefully managed when publishing as a single mismatch can cause problems.
    For interest, the Shared Folio does not seem to be a problem. I was able to share the app from one ID with others.
    What others can't do is make changes to the Folio and layout - it shows an error that the .indd files can't be found. They can however edit the .indd files (if otherwise shared) and then the creater can update. The other ID (i.e. not the folio creater) can successfully create the app.
    There are some missing bits in the Step by Step guide and it is also a little out of date as software and websites have since updated so screenshots and some specific steps are old or invalid. Though practicing creating the app again and again has advantages of learning the process through and through.

At&t said that they unlocked the phone but that it needs to be reset in itunes and retored for it to work. However, I do not have access to my computer as I am overseas and need to put a new sim card in. Anyone had this problem and know a way to go around this?

    If you have an backup on iCloud. You can restore via iTunes (on every computer) or via your iPhone itself.
    And yes, you can restore the backup via iCloud.
    To set iPhone to new do this: Settings > General > Reset > Erase all data and Reset all Settings.
    It take a while. But after this, you can restore backup via iCloud.

  • May a Company Purchase Creative Cloud for Individuals?

    I represent my own company, myself being the only empoyee; that is, like a professional working under the ambrella of his own business name. May I purchase a subscription for Creative Cloud for Individuals in the name of the company, or is it only available for natural persons? (Since being a 1-person company, CC for Teams looks way oversized for me.)
