Cluster table clustd field

hi,
how to read data stored in this field, clustd?
actually how to use this table?
thanks

Hi,
Several logical data records from different cluster tables can be stored together in one physical
record in a table cluster.
A cluster key consists of a series of freely definable key fields and a field (Pageno) for
distinguishing continuation records. A cluster also contains a long field (Vardata) that contains
the contents of the data fields of the cluster tables for this key. If the data does not fit into the long
field, continuation records are created. Control information on the structure of the data string is
still written at the beginning of the Vardata field.
The records of all cluster tables with the same key are stored under one key in the assigned table cluster. The values of the key fields are stored in the corresponding key fields of the table cluster. The values of all data fields of the assigned cluster tables are written as a string to the Vardata field of the table cluster. Besides the actual data values, the data string contains information on the structure of the data and which table it comes from. If the string exceeds the maximum length
of the Vardata field, a continuation record is written with the same key values. The continuation records for a key are distinguished by their value in field Pageno. The actual length of the string in the Vardata field is stored in the Pagelg field by the database interface.
You need the structural information stored in the ABAP Dictionary to read the data from a pooled
table or cluster table correctly. These tables can therefore only be processed using Open SQL
with the cluster interface, and not with Native SQL directly in the database.

  • How to create cluster table

    Hi

Please tell me any body how to create cluster table.
    Thanks & Regards

    [email protected]

    Hi,
    1. In the initial screen of the ABAP Dictionary select object type Table, enter a table name and choose Create.
The field maintenance screen for the table is displayed. Table type Transparent table is set as default.
    2. Make the necessary entries in the Short description and Delivery class fields on the Attributes tab page. Then define the fields of the table.
Proceed as when creating a transparent table. Save your entries.
    3. Choose Extras ® Change table category.
A dialog box appears in which you have to select the table type Pooled table or Cluster table.
    4. Choose Select.
You return to the field maintenance screen for the table. Field Pool/cluster name is displayed on the Attributes tab page in addition to the standard fields.
    5. Enter the name of the table pool or table cluster to which you want to assign the pooled table or cluster table in field Pool/cluster name
Note that the total key length of a pooled table may not exceed the key length of the associated table pool. The key of a cluster table must correspond to the key of the associated table cluster.
    6. Proceed as when creating a transparent table (see Creating Tables). Remember that you cannot create indexes for pooled or cluster tables.
All the attributes of the technical settings can be maintained for pooled tables and cluster tables. Before you can access these attributes, however, you must convert the table to a transparent table.

  • Risks of changing the field length of data structure of a Cluster Table

    Hello,
We are on ECC 604 and had implemented HR & Travel Management. Reporting on these applications is done in BI. We use ESS and & Mobile Travel for  time, travel expenses, etc and use PCLn clusters.
There is business need to change the length of a field from 20 to 40 for the data structure PTK** of cluster table PCL1.
We are exploring various options to avoid core modifications.
We are also assessing the risks associated with changing the field length.
I  am asking you for your opinion about the risks associated with changing the field length of a data structure of cluster table.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Manoj K Pingali

Recently, we came across the same situation where we had to change the length of a field. Let me explain you what precautions we had taken during that time.
    1. Apply the where use list of that table/ Field and check whether it has been used in some program and FM or not. If yes then check one more thing that check the TYPE of another variables on which system has populating data (move, write or in FM parameters). if you will not consider this then you can land you in big trouble. (Conversion dump)
    2. Ask the basis to take a dump of the production, quality and data for the safer side if something does not go right.
Now, you can do the changes in your development system and then adjust the database and see the impact of it.
Hopefully, you will not come across any difficult situation in this changes.
    Thanks.

  • How to check the content of cluster table smw3_bdoc1(00)

    Hi!
I want to check the business partner changes sending via bdoc from crm to sap.
For this i want to look into the bdocs.
    I think it's the cluster-table smw3_bdoc1.
'Cause i don't know which is the name of the structure in the clustd-field i use:
data: dirtab type table of cdir,
          wa_dirtab like line of dirtab.
import directory into dirtab from database
                                      smw3_bdoc1(00)
                                      id '49600667F6980046E1008002AC18C6E5'.
    if sy-subrc = 0.
      write  / 'Directory:'.
      loop at dirtab into wa_dirtab.
        write: / wa_dirtab-name,  wa_dirtab-otype, wa_dirtab-ftype,
                 wa_dirtab-tfill, wa_dirtab-fleng.
      endloop.
    else.
      write 'Not found'.
    endif.
So i've found the directory object "BDOC_BODY".
Now i want to read the content with:
    data:   iclust type string.
    loop at itbdocid.
         IMPORT BDOC_BODY = iclust FROM DATABASE smw3_bdoc1(00)
                                        ID itbdocid-bdoc_id.
    endloop.
    An error message raises with...
    "error importing the object BDOC_BODY"
The dump tells me that object types of BDOC_BODY and iclust doesn't match.
I've changed the field iclust to type xstring... but it's the same error.
If somebody here can help... Thanks a lot!
    Cheers, Ingo

    Hi,
Thanks, I can see the data now.I am expecting that data should display in the 2LIS_VDKON extractor. There are two records for particular condition type.Item 10 and Item 20, but in RSA3, it is showing only one record for Item 20 and not showing for Item 10.
I have cleaned and filled the setup tables, but still no luck.
Can you please guide me, where else to look?

  • Cluster Tables and Open SQL

    Hi,
I am planning to replace several transparent tables with cluster tables.
And this also implies that I have to read from cluster tables.
One of the reason, I did not do this is until now is, that at the moment I  am heavily
relying on the possibility to specify the DB name dynamically during runtime.
If I start implementing this scenario in one case, it should be possible to implement this
    for all cases.
My question is now, is it possible to use cluster table similar to transparent table?
    The following sketches the idea
The typical cluster table looks like
    RELID     INDX_RELID
    SELKEY
    SRTF2     INDX_SRTF2
    CLUSTR
    CLUSTD
What one could do is, select from the cluster table using the primariy key fields
    RELID     INDX_RELID
    SELKEY
into an internal table, treating the DB table as an transparent table and after that,
do an import from the internal table to the real internal table.
To generate the value for SELKEY - Fill the structure and move the content of the
    structure to a CHAR50.
The question is: Would this work?
I looked across the documentation, but I have found only little.
Trying it out is not useful either, since this technique needs to work independ of OS, DB
    and NW Release.
And if it works, I cant be sure, that with a different system setup it still works.
    Thanks fro your help.
    With kind regards

    Hello Uwe,
I would not advise you to switch from transparent to cluster tables. Cluster tables give you much less flexibility in terms of different access strategies, usage of indexes, etc.
And I think you can forget about reprogramming SAP DBI functionality of parsing cluster table contents in your program and moving it into a real internal table. There is simply too much you should take care of. And what if SAP decides to make a slight change in the next release. Then the upgrade will ruine your program.
So my advise - stick to the transparent tables.

      Yuri

  • Cluster Tables in Payroll

    Hi
what is the functionality of cluster tables in payroll.
    Rex

    hi,
For: u201CTwo Ways to Easily Access Payroll Information,u201D by Rehan Zaidi, senior SAP consultant, Siemens Pakistan. The author provides a detailed introduction of clusters, describes their structure, and explains the purpose that they serve in SAP HR.
    Usage of Clusters Within HR
The HR module utilizes clusters for storing information in a variety of areas. Some of the tables available for storing data clusters are PCL1, PCL2, PCL3, PCL4, and PCL5, as shown in Table 1. Clusters provide numerous advantages. For instance, they are best for storing long texts and notes related to infotypes. The monthly payroll results and payroll directory of an employee are also stored in cluster form in table PCL2.
    PCL1     TX     Infotype texts
         TE     Travel expenses
TA     General data for accounting of travel expenses
PCL2     ID     Interface toolbox u2013 directory of interface results
ZL     Time wage types and work schedule
         RU     Payroll results (US)
    PCL3     TY     Applicant data texts
         AP     Applicant actions
    PCL4     P2     Log for RPCALX0 and RPTIME00
U1     Tax reporter forms for US
PCL5     PY     Payroll data for personnel cost planning
CP     Planning run data for personnel cost planning
STXL      TX     Notes related to infotypes
Table 1     HR tables that use clusters
All these tables have a predefined structure. The structure of one of these tables is shown in Figure 1.
Figure 1     Structure of table PCL1
The tables that store clusters have the following fields in common:
RELID u2013 This is a two-character field that identifies the cluster, e.g., TX, RX, etc.
SRTFD u2013 This field denotes the key passed by the application program while importing and exporting data stored in a particular cluster. This is similar to key fields for a database table that uniquely identify a record. Generally, the key is comprised of the fields mentioned between RELID and SRTF2 in the table definition. In the case of table PCLX , there is only one u2013 field SRTFD. However, in the case of table STXL, fields TDOBJECT, TDNAME, TDID, and TDSPRAS collectively make up the key.
SRTF2 u2013 This serves an additional or a duplicate key field. This field is utilized when the fields SRTFD and RELID alone are not sufficient for uniquely identifying a table record. If a record is more than one line long, then a new row is inserted with a different SRTF2. For the first (or the only) row, this field has a value of 0. If the cluster data corresponding to the same SRTFD value extends over multiple lines, new rows are inserted with an incremented value of SRTF2 such as 1, 2, 3 and so on. The system judges the size of data and the possible increment in the SRTF2 field value, so the developer need not worry about it.
CLUSTR u2013 This field shows the size (in bytes) of the data stored in a particular table row
CLUSTD u2013 This contains the actual data, for instance the infotype text, stored in compressed form
Storing data in the form of clusters lets you create logical partitions within one database table. A single table may be used for storing data from different functional areas. This relieves the developer from creating separate tables (and programming update functions) for data belonging to each application area. For example, PCL1 table comprises of clusters TX and TE for storing infotype text and data of travel expenses, respectively. A two-character ID in field RELID identifies each cluster. Via clusters, a single table may be used to store data (such as long text related to a variety of application areas) under a separate cluster ID with a single key value. Otherwise, this information (e.g., long text, internal tables, and flat data structures) would have to be stored in separate table. Data may be exported to and imported from the table via the usage of EXPORT and IMPORT statements, respectively. For more information about these two ABAP commands, refer to the SAP documentation (SAP Library>mySAP Technology Components>SAP Web Application Server>ABAP Programming and Runtime (BC-ABA)>The ABAP Programming Language>Saving Data Externally>Saving Data Objects as Clusters>Data Clusters in the Database).

  • How to get the data from a cluster table to BW

    Dear All,
I want to extract the data from R/3 to BW by using 2 tables and one Cluster B2.
Actually my report contains some fields from PA2001, PA2002 and one cluster table B2 (Table ZES). Can I create View by using these 3 tables? If it is not possible how can I get the data from the cluster? Can I create generic datasource by using cluster tables directly?
In SE11 Transaction the Cluster (table ZES) is showing invalid table.
I referred some Forums, but no use.
Can any body tell me procedure to get the data from a cluster (table ZES) ?
    Waiting for you results.
    Thanks and regards

    HI Siggi,
    Thank you for your reply..
I am also planning to do FM to get the data. But it is saying that the Cluster table ZES does not exist (ZES is the the standard table, in SE11 also).
How can I use the Fields from the that table.?
What can I do now, can you please explain me about this point.
    Waiting for your reply.

  • How to extract data from cluster table

    Hi, experts,
Here I want to extract change documents, which is from tables CDHDR(header) and CDPOS(line items). The problem is that CDPOS is a cluster table so that I can't create a view to develop a generic data source.
I have search on the forum and some one said generic data source based on function module was a choice, but I think coding FM is so complex, especially including delta implementation.
Could any one give me some advice? or give me some coding samples?
    Thanks a lot!

    Dear Sam,
I would suggest you to have a look at the function module CHANGEDOCUMENT_READ u2013 you can use this function module as a core in the developed function module for generic extractor. Unfortunately, the suggested function module can not handle import parameters for field names, so the strategy which can be applied here is to use this function module to fill the internal table based on restrictions on object class and table name and then go through filled internal table and delete records which are not relevant for fields KOFIZ or ABRSPERR.
As for delta implementation, would you please advise if delta relevant field based on timestamp generated on date and time of the change document is sufficient for your needs? If so then you can use fields UDATE and UTIME to generate timestamp on them including the field containing generated timestamp to the extract table. Next step here is to choose this field as delta relevant field in the Generic DataSource maintenance (TCode RSO2).
Please inform me if this solution suits you or if you have any questions or concerns regarding it.
    My best regards,
    Vadim

  • How to fetch data for a struture from a cluster table

How can I fetch data for a struture, from a cluster table, based on the name of the structure?

    Hi,
In order to read from Cluster DB Table use the following statement:
    Syntax
    IMPORT <f1> [ TO  < g1 > ] <f2> [TO < g2 >] ...
    FROM DATABASE <dbtab>(<ar>)
    [CLIENT <cli>] ID <key>|MAJOR-ID <maid> [MINOR-ID <miid>].
This statement reads the data objects specified in the list from a cluster in the database <dbtab>.
You must declare <dbtab> using a TABLES statement. If you do not use the TO <gi> option, the
data object <fi> in the database is assigned to the data object in the program with the same
name. If you do use the option, the data object <fi> is read from the database into the field <gi>.
For <ar>, enter the two-character area ID for the cluster in the database. The name <key>
identifies the data in the database. Its maximum length depends on the length of the name field
    in <dbtab>.
The CLIENT <cli> option allows you to disable the automatic client handling of a client-specific cluster database, and specify the client yourself. The addition must always come directly after the name of the database.
    For Eg:
    PROGRAM SAPMZTS3.
    TABLES INDX.
DATA: BEGIN OF JTAB OCCURS 100,
    COL1 TYPE I,
    COL2 TYPE I,
    END OF JTAB.
IMPORT ITAB TO JTAB FROM DATABASE INDX(HK) ID 'Table'.
    WRITE: / 'AEDAT:', INDX-AEDAT,
    / 'USERA:', INDX-USERA,
    / 'PGMID:', INDX-PGMID.
    SKIP.
    WRITE 'JTAB:'.
LOOP AT JTAB FROM 1 TO 5.
    WRITE: / JTAB-COL1, JTAB-COL2.
    ENDLOOP.

  • How do I get to know the structures stored in a cluster table

    Dear fellow developers,
this question is about Cluster Tables of the INDX-type which need to be read with
    IMPORT/EXPORT FROM/TO ...
I need some advice concerning the question of how to find
out the definition of a structured field in such a cluster.
    To be more precise:
    By using the command
    IMPORT DIRECTORY ...
I know that in the table/cluster
    VARI
    section
    VB
    there are two structured
fields the content of which I'm interested in for reading and writing purposes:
    %_VARI40C
    and
    %_VARIVDAT
I already know the structure of the first one, but only because I found a Standard FM that reads it with an appropriately defined WA-structure, but I cannot find something similar to find out the structure definition for the other one (%_VARIVDAT). It can't be possible that this is so difficult to find out. There must be some better and easier way to find this out that I don't know yet...
Thanks in advance for your appreciated help
    Andreas

    Hi Andreas,
I think you have nothing into SAP to find the structure of a cluster table.
The way I use, is to find a standard program that use this cluster, and I look in the ABAP code the structure used by SAP.
You just have to use the ST05, and use the option to see the code where the cluster has been readed.

    Emp. Status
    Classification

    Other / Manual Adjustments Description
    Accrual Ending Balance (Hours)
    Accrual Ending Balance (Dollars)
    Vested Status
    PlanCode
    PlanDescription
    Thanks,
    Lisa

I can give you a 30,000 foot answer, but to get down to ground level I would have to know your system.  There is way to much missing information in your request to give you a definite answer.
Employee Number - if you are using LDB PNP/PNPCE to run your report then it is the field PERNR-PERNR.
Name - IT/PA0002-NACHN -Last Name, IT/PA0002-VORNA-First Name.IT/PA002-MIDNM-Middle Name. Depending on your system configuration these fields are also stored on IT/AP0001-SNAME (Last Name-FirstName) or ENAME(First Name, Middle Name, Last Name)
Original Hire Date-IT/PA0041-This stores multiple date types with a specific code to identify what each one is.  You will need to know the code for OHD.
Adjusted Hire Date - same as above
Salary Class- not sure what you are talking about, but salary information is stored on IT/PA008
    Empl Status - IT/PA000-Stat2
Classification-not sure what field you are talking about, but IT/PA0001 is where this type of information is stored
    Accounting Unit-same as above
Activity(WBS)- now you are getting complicated. This is stored in Cost Distribution  HRT1019-POSNR, but you have to know how to connect the dots to get there.
Accrual Beginning Balance(Hours)-I would go to the ABWKONTI table in the Time Cluster for this fields ANZHL & KVERB
Accrual Beginning Balance(Dollars) - this will probably have to be computed
Used(Hours)-You can either compute this balance by computing the difference between the Beginning/Ending balances or read back through the appropriate Time Cluster Tables or total IT/PA2001 and IT/PA2013.
Used(dollars) will probably have to be computed
Other/Manual Adjustments(Hours) - not sure but you may be looking at IT/PA2013
Other/Manual Adjustments(Dollars)- will have to be computed
Accrual Ending Balance(Hours)-I would go to the ABWKONTI table in the Time Cluster for this fields ANZHL & KVERB
Accrual Ending Balance(Dollars) - this will probably have to be computed
