Cmsxdb, JDeveloper 10.1.3, and Oracle 10.1.2

Has anyone had success in getting the cmsxdb sample to run using the combination above? There are too many errors to list here, and would very much appreciate a little guidance.
Thanks in advance for any help you may provide.
Dave

Could you post some of the errors?

I currently support a project using JDeveloper 9.0.3, and the client is mandating that we upgrade our database to 10g. Am I going to be required to upgrade to JDeveloper 10g, too? Or is JDeveloper 9.0.3 compatible with a 10g database?
    Thanks for your help!

Oracle JDeveloper 9.0.3 may be used with Oracle database 10g.

  • Deploying from JDeveloper 10.1.3 to Oracle AS 10.1.2

    Hi!
I use JDeveloper 10.1.3 and Oracle Application Server 10.1.2.
When I want to deploy my application (TopLink + EJB Session Bean Facade + ADF Faces) from JDeveloper to Application Server an error occured:
    ---- Deployment started. ---- 16.05.2006 14:02:13
Target platform is Oracle Application Server 10g 10.1.2 (for Windows) (OracleAS10g).
**** Oracle Application Server 10g 10.1.2 (for Windows) only supports ejb version 1.1 and 2.0. Project DataModel.jpr makes use of a different version and is therefore not supported.
Elapsed time for deployment: 21 seconds
    #### Deployment incomplete. #### 16.05.2006 14:02:34
Question: Is there an way to deploy my application to Oracle Application Server 10.1.2?

    There is!
First, be sure to create an J2EE 1.3 application (ie. no EJB 3.0, no EJB 2.0, no Servlets 2.4).
Second, apply a patch to Oracle AS 10.1.2 (see http://blogs.oracle.com/olaf/2006/02/09#a40)

Please provide enough information for us to know what you are trying to do and with what version.
You could be asking about anything from the box the software comes in (if it did) to built-in PL/SQL packages and we should not have to guess at your meaning.

  • IIOP connection problems .: JDeveloper 3.1 and Oracle 8.1.6

This is my 4th day working on this problem. I cannot get an IIOP connection to work.
I have verfied that the listener is running on port 2481, I have been inside of the init.ora, listeners.ora, I have read the error inside of listeners.log, and I have been trying things with the Net8 Assistant also.
Most of the posts on this subject seem older, I am wondering if anyone has had this problem recently with the versions that I am using. There are so many things I have been told to change, I'm wondering if there is a definitive list of steps to fix this problem.
    Any help is greatly appreciated.

I am getting "No Suitable Driver" exception from WebLogic 6.1 (sp1) at
the start up of the server.
    My settings:
    - WLS 6.1 on a solaris 8 machine and Oracle 8.1.6 on a WIN2K machine.
    - I created the connection pool for oracle with the following
    parameters:
    connection name: OracleConnectionPool
    url: jdbc.oracle.thin:@myOracleServer:1521:myDBName
    driver class name: oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver
    properties: user=scott
    password=tiger
    - I have also downloaded classes12.zip and nls_charset12.zip from
    Oracle.com
    and have placed under $WL_HOME/lib.
    - I have added $WL_HOME/lib/classes12.zip:$WL_HOME/lib/nls_charset12.zip
    in
front of the $CLASSPATH in the startWeblogic.sh script. The echoed
    classpath
    from the startup script is:
    /opt/tools/bea/wlserver6.1/lib/classes12.zip:/opt/tools/bea/wlserver6.1/lib/nls_
    charset12.zip:/opt/tools/bea/wlserver6.1:/opt/tools/bea/wlserver6.1/lib/weblogic
    _sp.jar:/opt/tools/bea/wlserver6.1/lib/weblogic.jar
    - Still I get the error:
    <Jan 16, 2002 1:38:45 PM EST> <Error> <JDBC> <Cannot startup
    connection pool "Or
    acleConnectionPool" No suitable driver>
Can somebody point me out if i am doing anything wrong here.
    Thanks.
    RamanandHi,
Sure. Your URL should be "jdbc:oracle:thin:@myOracleServer:1521:myDBName"
    not "jdbc.oracle.thin:@myOracleServer:1521:myDBName"

  • JDBC Thin and Oracle 7.3.4

    Hi again.
Thanks for your previous answer concerning
the connection between JDeveloper and OAS to the Oracle 7.3.4 database.
I am now trying to establish a connection with the database from JDeveloper using the JDBC Thin Driver. I pinged the database from a DOS window and all went OK. I haven't installed SQL*Net, because as I understood that wouldn't be necessary, or?
When I try to create a new connection in JDeveloper to the database and test it, i get this reply in a little window:
    Connection Refused(DESCRIPTION=(TMP=)(VSNNUM=36716544)(ERR=12505)(ERROR_STACK=(ERROR=(CODE=12505)(EMFI=4))))
I've entered the correct IP in the host name and the port is the default 1521 with SID=ORCL. I also entered a username and password that are valid.
These errorcodes don't say anything to me, maybe you understand them, or maybe it's a simple error...
    Hope you can help me,
    Thanks in advance,
    /Janne ([email protected])

Ignore this message, I found out for myself.
The database didn't use the default SID... ;)

  • Can I use JDeveloper 10.1.2 in Oracle database 9.2.0.6?????

Hi everyone. I have a web service client stub developed in JDeveloper 10.1.2. The service works well in Oracle 10g R1 (10.1.0.2.0) and Oracle 10g R2 (10.2.0.1.0). Im trying to get it working also in Oracle 9.2.0.6.
It has installed java version "1.2.2.15", which compare to the others I think it's pretty old. (other have java 1.4)
My question is, deploying the same client stub generated for the other databases will work? What JDeveloper version is the right one to use? I've been trying with JDeveloper 9.0.4.0 but I haven't been able to find some of the jar files it asks.
    Thanks for everything,
    JP

Yes, JDeveloper 2.0 will support JDK Switching.
To currently use the latest JFC, you must include the latest
JFC library into JDeveloper. Also, some components may not
show up appropriately in the desiger.
All these issues will be fixed before the official release.

  • Oracle AS 10.1.3.0 and Oracle AS 10.1.3.1

I have JDeveloper 10.1.2.0.2 and Oracle AS 10.1.3.0.0 installation on one machine. Can I install Oracle AS 10.1.3.1 on the same machine? Will they co-exist?
    Thanks!

You can also patch up 10.1.3.0.0 with 10.1.3.1.0 patchset and then deploy SOA Suite components like BPEL, ESB, OWSM to the same OC4J. This will reduce the number of Oracle Homes on your machine.
