Code hint don't working

Friends, please shed some light. I don't understand. Can I use code hint feature on symbols , that I simply drag on stage from the library and instantiate via property panel (not from 'new 'operator). As you guess, when I hit F9 (i.e. invoke Actions window) and write name of the object then put period ('.') code hint window don't popup. There are many topics in this forum dedicated this issue, but all don't work.
I have Adobe Flash CC professional and OS - Windows 8.

-> Code Hints............. property is checked. Code hint work only when ctrl + space is hited.

After ensuring that the "Code Hints" checkbox in the Actionscript section of the Flash Preferences dialog is turned on , please try resetting your code-hint cache as follows:
1. Quit Flash
2. Delete your code-hint cache folder
Win XP:
C:\Documents and Settings\<user>\Local Settings\Application Data\Adobe\Flash CS6\<language>\Configuration\CodeModel
Win Vista/Win7:
C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Local\Adobe\Flash CS6\<language>\Configuration\CodeModel
Mac:
/Users/<user>/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Flash CS6/<language>/Configuration/CodeModel
3. Re-start Flash and try again.

Code hints don't work - include files using a variable

In Dreamweaver CS 5.5 code hints didn't work properly.
DW would not look at my code and find the include files and look at the functions inside them when using a variable to make an absolute path, which is the best way to include files in PHP (its faster and more reliable on your web server)
Here is an example:

Has this been fixed in Dreamweaver CS6 or should I wait until CS7?
Until this works, I prefer Notepad++

I made a full SQL Developer installation with Java included, so I suppose that the included version is used.
After a problem with the German Version I tried to switch to English Version by using the hint:

I changed the content of sqldeveloper.conf and now again the code templates (strg-shift-t) don't work!!!
(I already rebooted and set the accelerators to default, but it didn't help now.)

Flash CS6: Code hinting doesn't work in AS3 document

Hi,
For some reason code hinting is not working at all in an AS3 class document in Flash CS6. It works fine on the timeline. For instance:
1. Create a new AS3 class, name it "MyClass"
2. Save the doc immediately (in CS5 code hinting would not work until the class file was saved)
3. After "class MyClass" I type " extends Movi" and press Ctrl+Space, expecting to see hints for "MovieClip" etc like it did in CS5. In CS6 I get nothing. If I type out the whole word "MovieClip" and press Ctrl+Space I still get no hints.
What might be wrong?

I'm sorry but I don't even have Flash CS6. I still use CS5.5 because I use Flash Builder 4.6 for everything I do. I merely use Flash Pro to generate quick libraries full of goodies and export a SWC to use in Flash Builder.
I realize it's obvious but you did ensure your preferences had hinting both enabled and the delay set low (or zero)? I can only show you a CS5.5 preference panel, I'm not sure if it's the same. Note one important thing in this photo which is "Cache size". I have mine on 800 files which seems to be fine. If you're pointing toward a HUGE library of classes you may want to increase that number and check completion again.

PSP Source Code Links Don't Work!

The links labeled "Source" don't show me the source code -- instead, it appears the PSP code itself is trying to run! And they don't work! Please correct.

DW tries to determine when to show (and not show) code hints,
so it's
not too annoying. You should be able to hit Ctrl+spacebar at
any time to
force the Code Hints to appear.

UML associations and code generation don't work

Hello,
I've maid a Class Diagramm in JSE 8, class generation works great, but I have a problem with associations : they are not generated (ie no attributes in class files). I've tried to give association name and also named both ends, but nothing better.

I already submitted a request for enhancement (RFE) for automatic code generation for Association links. As for the documentation issue, I'm not able to replicate your problem. I'm seeing all comments in the source that I entered in the documentation panel. Could you please kindly provide me detail steps to reproduce the case that you don't see documentation generated in the code and I'll try to help you. Thanks!

I copy and pasted your code and got the error. I rewrote the code and it went away. I have had problems in DW with templates that gave me errors when everything was good but the only way to fix it was to redo the template from scratch. Sounds stange, but true. The only other thing, and the experts here might chime in is to put the scripts in comment tags like below.

Code generation don't work - please help!

Hi all
just installed flash builder 4.5 , then installed the flash builder 4.5.1 update patch
I've noticed the code generation features are not working
meaning for example if I write "fori" in a function then hit ctrl+space
it opens up an empty window with no suggerstions
same goes when I tried generating variables, functions, classes, getters, setters ect...
any idea as to why does it happen or what can I do about it?

Can you try a few things please -
1. Post the content of your workspace log here. Log can be found in <workspace location>/.metadata/.log
2. Post the steps you performed (starting from creating a new project) along with the .as and .mxml files. If you can't post your files here, please mail them to me at sameer[at]adobe[dot]com
3. Create a new workspace using File > Switch Workspace > Other. Create a new Flex project in the workspace and try these features.
Let me know your findings.

Unicode source code: Umlauts don't work anymore

So far, i was able to just type (german) Umlauts in my Java source code (String value like
String text = "�hnlich sch�nes �sterreich"; //sorry about the bad example ;-)Now I switched my Java IDE (Eclipse) to store source code in UTF-8 Unicode. Since then, my text strings are not displayed as the original Text in Swing anymore (e.g. JTextField) - the Umlauts are replaced by (multiple) strange characters. I thought Java internally handles Unicode?

compiler not be able to do this, to?)Not quite right, the compiler and Java API use the platform's default character encoding like has been mentioned earlier. There is no attempt whatsoever to detect the character encoding; the default is simply used. Now, on your system the default happens to not be UTF-8 while on other systems it is (such as on mine).
And like mentioned earlier, if you want to write code that can be transferred from one platform to another you should not hardcode non-ascii characters but use unicode escapes.

Hello everyone. New to the forums and been enjoying Dreamweaver CS5's powerful capabilities up until this point. I'm a little new to PHP, and having a little trouble. I will link the PHP syntax for you guys to take a look at. What I'm trying to make is a PHP file that sends an email for a refer a friend type form. This is line 16-34. Lines 25 and 29 are highlighted red. I'm a bit confused as to the errors given here, so any help would be greatly appreciated. Code hints not working in Flash CC

I just downloaded the Flash CC trial and have been looking at the forums but I can't get code hints to work at all, when I begin to type a line I get "Building code hint cache" in bottom right of Actions panel with a warning icon - no more info available, no tool tip on rollover it apparently does nothing.
I've looked for this problem in the forums and found many references to code hints not working and have tried all the support recommendations for deleting the CodeModel file, resetting preferences, deleting preferences, checking and unchecking preferences, changing the file cap in the registry and nothing seems to work - still no code hints at all.
I'm on a windows 8 machine, I don't know if that has anything to do with it.

Dreamweaver CS3 Code Hints

Has anyone experienced problems with DW CS3's code hints for
ColdFusion? I've installed the CF8 extensions, but the code hints
don't work properly in Windows XP (My Mac version works fine).
Basically, the "hints" for tags work, but only to an extent.
For example, I've found the code hints for CFWINDOW do not provide
the color picker for bgcolor in the style attribute. Funny quirks
such as that.

are you implying that the newer versions of IIS might be more up to date than the cs3 dreamweaver and that is where my problems will arise?
I am not implying anything. I am simply wondering if the IIS is configured properly. Have you tried creating a basic static page and load it in your browser to see if it loads OK?

Code Hinting and coloring Feature not working

In most of the related pages the code hinting feature is working great but in this asp page it give a warning saying : there is a syntax error on line xxxx. Code hinting may not work until you fix this error.
the code is as follows

the ' <% ' marked with a comment is the place where the prompt appears.....
It is stored as .asp file
this file is is used as an include file in many other files....and apparently wherever this file appears in the include section the code hinting for that .asp file goes haywire. also all the asp and javascript code appears in the same color throughout the asp file.
due to the non working of code hinting and coloring my speed of development and error debugging is greatly reduced .... kindly suggest what can be done
just to clarify.....There is no problem in execution....everything works absolutely fine (even in the above code...) only no code hinting and color !!!

An example zip containing a simple project would be very helpful. Can you provide one or maybe a link to one?
My first guess would be that you're missing the Flex project nature on your project. You can add it by right clicking on your project and select Add/Change Project Type > Add Flex Project Type...
From there, you'll have to fix your project properties Flex Build Path > "Main source folder" to point to parent/flex-project or wherever the root of your flex source files are.

Close Tags and other code hints not working after installing Dreamweaver 2014

I'm working on a windows machine. All the code hinting features where working on previous installations, but they're not on 2014. I'm not sure if it's a bug or something was changed and I have to turn the features on somewhere other than the Code Hints settings?
