Combine files to make a 1 swf file

Hello all! New to flash. I have a couple files that i would
like to have "alternating" on my site. So, if you are on the home
page, i would like to have these files change or alternate between
the images. How would i do this using flash?

No.I am using Loader since I dont need to pass one URL for fetching swf content.I need to get the displayobject from ByteArray which should be free from all the security issues.I heard that we cannot set 'securityDomain' property of loaderContext (using in Loader) in AIR.So please give a solution for getting bytes.

Suggestion: Please make the Combine Files dialog modal to the Acrobat application instance.

I often combine files into a PDF with Acrobat (XI). It is annoying that the main Acrobat window is shown while the Combine Files dialog window is open. I often review other PDF files during the process of selection for later combination. It happens far too often, that I accidentally close the Combine Files instance main Acrobat window during the process and subsequently lose the already specified file selection. I would suggest to make the Combine Files dialog modal for the Acrobat instance so that users would have to close the Combine Files dialog first, before closing the instance. I would appreciate this in a future update. Thanks a lot.

How can I make a small swf file out of InDesign

I have a 200 page book (PDF). I am trying to make a flip book to preview in web browser. How can I make a small swf file out of InDesign with the PDF I have?

There is another point:
if you are using JPEG images together with SWF as output file format, you could get smaller images by:
1. using the Export For Web menu for generating size optimized JPEGs in PhotoShop opposed to Save As JPEG
2. stripping all color management (ICC) information off the files (SWF is not very good in color management besides sRGB, I think…)

The easiest way is by targeting the Loader object.
l.visible = false;
or
removeChild(l);
will both work. And you can make it visible again if need be using the opposite of those commands.

Acrobat 8: How to prevent "Combine Files" from adding a header?

Hi All.
I am using Acrobat 8 (Win XP SP II) and am having a problem with the "Combine Files" feature. In the past, I've used this function to create hundreds of PDF files from thousands of individiual PDF's. It worked great. But now, suddenly, Acrobat increases the landscape page height from 8.5 to 8.8 inches, and then adds a header containing document name and date info.
I don't want this header. I've looked all over Acrobat and Distiller and converter preferences but can't seem to find how to shut this feature off. Can anyone help me?

I have multiple single-page PDF files lying in a folder; I hit Files-->Combine Files, select the relevant PDF files, and let it rip using any of the quality settings (low, medium, high- makes no difference).
But I see nothing in the Combine Files dialog box that is relevant to this kind of header, so it must be hidden somewhere else. Can't find it for the life of me, tho!
If I have to I'll revert back to Acrobat 6.0 or write a Javascript to combine the files for me, but I know I can do it straight up in Acrobat 8 'cos I've done it many times before.

When I try to Combine Files,and I click on Add Files, Acrobat tells me my psd and InDesign files are unsupported and won't include them. These are the main ones I want to use. What can I do?

You can make PDF files directly from InDesign or Photoshop, no need to
use Acrobat.

When I try to combine my files, acrobat starts to get the files ready and then it shows that it has failed because of some error occurring. I even tried to combine files I have combined before and the same has happened to them, so I know that it is a problem with acrobat and not my files. How can I rectify this.

Are you trying to combine files in Adobe PDF Pack (either online or via Reader) or in the Acrobat desktop application?
If you're using Reader, please choose Help > Check for Updates and make sure you're using the most recent version.
If you're using PDF Pack, please clear the browser cache and try again, or try converting using a different browser. Also make sure there are no firewall or proxy settings that are limiting your access to the Internet.

Combine files leaves line around inserted graphic

I create documents in Word and insert my signature as graphic before converting to acrobat 9. I have discovered that while that looks fine, when I combine that document with another document a vertical line appears to the right of my graphic of the signature (which to me mars the signed look). I have a verisign id and can certify the adobe file and include a graphic of my signature that way but I prefer to generally just include my signature from Word. Any idea why I am getting the line after combining files (or more importantly, if it is easy to get rid of that line!)? Thanks -- Scott

I inserted a graphic of my signature in Word - the graphic is in a .png
format. It looks fine in Word and it looks fine when I convert it to a PDF.
The vertical line to the right of the graphic appears when I combine the PDF
of my report with a PDF of another page (a request for services) into one
PDF file (binder, not portfolio). Thanks for your help, it baffles me and I

Combined files automatically re-organized by Bates number?

I have a folder containing 1,373 PDF files, comprising what I think is approximately 7,400 pages. Each page was Bates stamped by a legal support company, but when they sent the CD containing said folder, all 1,373 files were organized by the file name, and not sequentially by Bates number.
Rather than opening 1,373 files and performing 1,373 searches for keywords that may identify privileged information, it would be much more efficient to have all the documents in several large files and only perform a few searches.
To get to my problem: When I combined the files, it seems that Adobe Acrobat X Pro automatically organized the files sequentially by Bates number. In order to be confident that we do not need to perform 1,373 searches using the separate files, we need to confirm that the Bates numbering from the combined files matches up with the number of pages. My question is, is it possible that Adobe automatically re-organized the files sequentially by Bates number?

If you've already got the script to make the subdirectories then its not a huge step to add the code to move the files:

Error using Combine Files Function

I'm running Acrobat Standard Ver. 8 and I've got >150 .rtf files that need to be converted into a single pdf file. Using the combine files utility when it tries to open the files, it gives me a protection error, ie, "please make sure you have read access to the file". I get the same errors with Word documents. I created these files and can access them just fine with Word. Any suggestions? My IT people are stumped.

I think the Combine feature is designed for files that are already pdfs. You can convert entire folders into pdfs simulataneously then use the combine function.

Viewing combined files

I have just combined around 60 scanned pdf files of a motorcycle book into a combined file but when scrolling the combined file, some pages are much larger in size and reduce the viewing size of other pages. How can I make all the pages in the combined file the same size/ thx

Sounds like they could have been scaned at different resolutions.
If you want them to be the same size, they need to be identical resolutions.

Can't combine files...

Why can't I combine excel and word doc's into pdf? Just downloaded the XI Acrobat to Windows 7 64bit system. The only way I can combine files is to make them PDF's first. This makes it more work. Thanks~

If you have Acrobat correctly installed on your system, then it is quite simple to combine them into a single PDF file.
You might need to right click on all the selected word & excel document icons and select 'Combine Files in Acrobat' from the context menu as shown below:

A quick alternative to email.
Copy the files onto a USB drive. Make sure that "Ignore permissions on this drive" is set. (Get Info on the drive from Finder).
Then copy them from the drive to the destination user account.

Sizing Combined Files

I need to make a PDF file not larger than 5MB. My combined files are currently at 14MB. Any suggestions on how to reduce the size? Thank you.

You would need Acrobat to reduce the file size of your combined PDF. With Acrobat, you can use the Save As > Reduced Size PDF command, or PDF Optimizer to bring down the file size. How to merge files into one PDF:
Within Acrobat XI, select File > Create > Combine Files into a Single PDF.
Click Add Files and select the files you want to add.
Click, drag, and drop to reorder the files and pages. Double-click on a file to expand and rearrange individual pages. Press the Delete key to remove unwanted content.
When finished arranging the files, click Combine Files.
Select File > Save As > PDF.
Name your PDF file and click Save.

Acrobat XI Pro combine files window not visible

So I was trying to combine files into one pdf this morning, but Acrobat's window for doing so would not appear. I could minimize it, and see it down on the bottom of my dock, but when I tried to maximize it, it would disappear. (I'm on a Mac). Everything else on the app was working perfectly. I:
-checked all preferences
-tried to re-arrange window configurations
-made sure my 2nd monitor was up as it might have been last time I used the program
-opened pdfs and then tried to combine them
-quit and re-opened the application several times
-tried again to access the 'combine' window from every angle I could
-rebooted, then went through it all again
-went to adobe to check for updates. Application manager says Acrobat XI is up to date. Won't let me do anything.
So, I decided to uninstall it so I could start fresh and re-install. Uninstalled, went back to the Cloud. App manager says Acrobat XI is up to date, and still won't let me download or anything else.
Rebooted. Went back to the Cloud. Same thing again.
I would very much like to be able to use this app. I have things to do...

I figured out how to recreate the preferences and it fixed the problem. Here is how I did it:
Quit Acrobat
In Finder hold down "option" and open the "Go" menu. Pick "Library"
Open "Preferences" folder
Drag "com.adobe.Acrobat.Pro.plist" to your desk top
Reopen Acrobat and try to merge 2 files
If it works you have solved your problem. Acrobat will replace the missing file with the default.
If it doesn't work you can drag the original folder back into "preferences" and keep trying to figure out what was wrong.
Part of the answer was in the Acrobat workspace instruction.
