Combo Box - Forms 4.5

Hi,
Is there a simple way to "inactivate" the arrow button that is part of a list item field (combo box) or prevent the user from selecting a list item by the mouse? I want to prevent them from accessing this field under certain conditions. There are multiple records displayed on the screen so my question applies to preventing access to the current record as well as the remaining records that do not meet a certain condition.

I am not sure about forms 4.5 as i have never used it but in
forms 6i yes u can. What u do is write a Block Lever trigger
WHEN-NEW-ITEM-INSTANCE.
Depending on certain conditions u can enable or disable the combo list for eg say my detail block is say DTL_BLOCK and the item name is ITEM_COMBO
If <First Column in Block> IS NOT NULL Then
     If <Some Condition> Then
          SET_ITEM_PROPERTY('DTL_BLOCK.ITEM_COMBO', UPDATE_ALLOWED, PROPERTY_FALSE);
          SET_ITEM_PROPERTY('DTL_BLOCK.ITEM_COMBO', INSERT_ALLOWED, PROPERTY_FALSE);

How to Add/Concatenate to a text field, values selected in a combo box

I have a combo box form field that allows the user to select a value from a list and click on an Add button. The Add button should add/concatenate the vaue selected to a text field in order to create a list of values selected. I'm not sure how to do this using Javascript in Acrobat? I know I need to add the javascript to the Add button's Mouse Up action. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Let's say the text field's name is "Text1", and the combo is called "Combo1". You can then use this code as the MouseUp script of the Add button:

else f1.value = f1.value + ", " + f2.value;

Need help on combo box problem

hi ,
i have two combo box..... eg..c1,c2
i retrieved data from database to display it in combo box c1.now my problem is using the selected value from combo box c1 i have to display the respective value in c2..
eg.
if Product type=injection (in combo box c1)
then
in c2 the product name for injection available should be displayed by retrieving it from database...
this is my code

now i was able to create a depenent box but now i'm facing two problems
1. when i submit the form my previous value from the combo box is not selected
2. when i first load the page the value in the 2nd combo box doesn't has the value as null...

Trying to trigger a servlet from .jsp page on combo box change

I have a jsp page with two combo boxes ( single select ).
Here's a snippet from the jsp page containing the code for the two combo boxes:

"country" and "city" are both mapped to servlets in the web.xml file
The country servlet successfully connects to the database and retrieves all countries
and populates the country combo box.
However, the populating of the city combo box depends on what country
is selected in the country combo box;
Here is a snippet of my code from the City servlet:

               "WHERE City.countryID = ( Country id ) " +

Where ( Country id ) has to be somehow retrieved from the Country combo box
on the jsp page. Country id is actually the "value" property of each <option> in the
Country combo box. i.e.:
<option value="5">Portugal</option>
If it's not possible to retrieve the value property from the option,
I could always just use the Country name
So to reiterate, I need the City servlet to be called into action
any time a different country is selected in the country combo box.
I'm a newbie to jsp & servlets, so any suggestions much appreciated.

Cheers, I came up with a solution using Ajax, where I didn't have to change
anything in my servlets and only had to make minor changes to my jsp page.
I didn't want to use any javascript in my web app, but I guess Ajax
has addressed the issue of cross platform independence.

Need help on Combo Box

application i am using ComboxBox but i am not able to adjust the
spacing between the values present inside the combobox. currenlty
when the clicks on the combo box even thought there are two values
the height looks very big. Is there way i can control it.

How do I correctly use Macro Builder to have a form auto select a TAB depending on a value selected in a combo box?

I am working in access 2013 to update a database first created in Access 2003. It has been saved as an accdb but I have the same problem in earlier versions.
I have a Tab Control subform in my MainDataEntry form which has 5 different tabs. Each Tab has its own set of text boxes and combo boxes for data entry. At the top of the MainDataEntry form there is a Text box [Text393], which has a drop down with
the 5 TAB names, [Mobile Device],[Computer],[Loose Media],[Network] and [Original Device]. When I select one of these values in the Text box, I would like to automatically set focus on the first Textbox or ComboBox inside the corresponding TAB.
I have tried to do this using the MacroBuilder inside the "After Update" Property for the Text or Combo box that is on the MainDataEntry Form using "If" and "Else If" statements for the "GoToControl" action, however
I seem to be able to only get one Tab to work. I have tried several different variations of this, putting the If statement first and the action argument second...putting all arguments inside a group, or not grouped....nothing seems to work. What am I
doing wrong?
EXAMPLE:

I'm trying to be able to have the user of a pdf I'm creating, select an email in a combo box and then hit send and have it send to that email address that was selected.

Hi,
I don't think (but may be wrong) that you can do that within InDesign. At the very least, you could draw the form within InDesign but I guess that the interactivity between the list selection and the mail action should be achieved with Acrobat Scripting or LiveCycle Designer if you have it.

Is it possible to have a combo box change an image on a form? How do you do it?

I would like to have an area in one of my PDF forms where a combo box with 8 items changes an image near the combo box. 8 items 8 images. if you select item 3 in the list then image 3 is displayed in the image area or field.
Is this possible? Might someone guide me as to what steps are necessary. I can make this happen with web, asp, c++ etc. I just don't know how to do it in adobe if it's possible.

The buttons on the right hand side would normally be hidden and you can use anything you want for their icon, even though in this case it's just text. You'll have to study the JavaScript to see how it works. There are two functions in a document-level JavaScript, one of which is called from the combo box's Keystroke event. Also, note the export values of the items in the list and how the script uses them.

Combo Box in Portal Form resets after query

Hello all,
I have a portal form based on Stored Procedure. In it I have a Location combo box and Query button in addition to few text items. Users can select location from the drop down list and hit Query button to view the values in for the text items. The query part is working fine. But after query the Location resets to Null (as the LOV which feeds the combo box can have Null). We would like to keep the location they chose to query up even after the query results. Any help is appreciated.
The Location item is in the parameters of the Stored Procedure. Initially it was IN, later I changed to IN OUT but there is no change in functionality.
I also removed the ability to accept NULL for the LOV which feeds Location Combo box but now it is displaying the first location on the list after the query, which is even worse.

You're catching Exceptions in empty catch() blocks. There might have been an exception, but you won't know if the catch block doesn't do anything.
Try something like this:
catch(SQLException e){
System.err.println( "Problem with db query"+e.getMessage() );
e.printStackTrace( System.err );
}in order to see what's going wrong with your code.

Combo box in form manager

Hi!
I've made a form in Designer 8 with combo box, tested it (everything was ok) and than upload it to form manger. And here the problem beggins. When I'm writting something in combo boxes field it looks like there wasn't any or sometimes I can write only 10 letters when the Combo Box was set up for 11. Why is that? I want to use Combo Boxes. Is it a bug of FM? Thanks.

Combo box in the system form

We r assuming " freezing = Absent"
When we select " freezing" in the combo box in the system form, "Absent" should be displayed in the matrix for the particular row in the user form.
Freezing should be displayed as Absent
Working should be displayed as Present
what is the coding for this process . can anyone help me...

In the combo Select Event, get the user form and then get the matrix then set the value. The code sample is as follows.

LOV's in form combo box - how to change font size?

Greetings:
I've a table generated form (custom vs. tabular), with a combo-box field that fills with a LOV's that has as it's visible data, a rather long concatenated string. Therefore, this field makes the entire form rather wide when the LOV's contains a long string (as returned from the SQL that gathers the data).
I've tried using the FONT tag in the 2nd tab (Form wizard) for custom layouts; that didn't work.
Anyone have ideas for decreasing the font size of the LOV's? Else, I'll have to leave-out some of the info concatenated on that string.

Hi,
Changing the font size and other properties like font color, width, height, etc.. of the form elements can be achieved by using Cascading Style Sheet (CSS).
It cannot be changed using <FONT> tag.
In Portal, one can add the CSS attribute to the HTML tags in the custom layout of the form. But adding the CSS attribute to FORM elements (Input, select..)is not possible through Form wizards.
However, this can be achieved by creating a form through the Dynamic Page. In this case you have to define your whole form.

OIM 11gR2 Add combo box UDF on Create User Form

Hi.
We have created a new UDF on user form. It is a lookup field and has the following lookup associated: "Lookup.Users.Continente"
"Lookup.Users.Continente" has two values, both of them checked as Enabled.
From the form designer all the values are displayed when selecting one default value so it is reading correctly from the lookup.
We published the sandbox after this.
Then we created a new sandbox and tried to add that field to the Create User Page. We went to "Create User Page", customize it and add content from "Data Component - Catalog" -> "userVO" -> Select the UDF, clicked on "Add" and selected "ADF Select One Choice".
A new combobox is added but no values are shown. We have plublished the sandbox, restarted OIM, purged cache, etc... but it still shows an empty combo box. We have also tried adding it as "ADF Input List of values" but it does not add the field to the create user page.
Any ideas of what are we doing wrong?
The idea is very simple, just create a field with the same behaviour as, for example, "User Type" field. A combobox that displays the enabled values from a lookup...
We have also tried creating the UDF cheking the searchable option, searchable picklist and all the possible combinations.
