Common causes of java.io.filenotfoundexception
hi,
what are the most obvious causes of a java.io.FileNotFoundException being thrown.
this is occuring in an application i have written - the exception is being thrown everytime a new FileReader is tried to be created.
the files i am trying to read in are not read only files, they do exist and the pathname is correct...
thanks in advance
i specify the pathname as one of the arguments that i pass to the application so when it throws the exception (which i do have a catch clause for btw) it shows me the pathname i have previously specified.
everyones help is well appreciated (this is after one or two cups of irish java!!!).
the full code for the program is as follows:
import java.io.*;
public class tArray {
public static void main(String[] args) {
tArr arr = new tArr(args[0], args[1]);
arr.convert();
class tArr {
String sourceName;
String sourceString;
tArr(String sourceArg, String sourceArg1) {
sourceName = sourceArg;
sourceString = sourceArg1;
void convert() {
try {
File source = new File(sourceName);
File temp = new File(sourceName + ".tmp");
File[] fileArr = source.listFiles();
for (int y = 0; y < fileArr.length; y++)
System.out.println("listFiles: "
+ fileArr[y].toString());
FileReader fr = new FileReader(source);
BufferedReader in = new BufferedReader(fr);
if (source.isDirectory())
System.out.println("is a directory");
FileWriter fw = new FileWriter(temp);
BufferedWriter out = new BufferedWriter(fw);
boolean eof = false;
String inChar = "";
String outChar = "";
do {
inChar = in.readLine();
if (inChar != null) {
if (inChar.startsWith(sourceString))
inChar = (" 64 64");
else {
outChar = (inChar);
out.newLine();
outChar = (inChar);
out.write(outChar);
} else
eof = true;
} while (!eof);
in.close();
out.close();
boolean deleted = source.delete();
if (deleted)
temp.renameTo(source);
} catch (IOException e) {
System.out.println("Error... " + e.toString());
} catch (SecurityException se) {
System.out.println("Error... " + se.toString());
}the listfiles() method is part of the checking process i am going thru to make sure im not going mad (some would say a lost cause...)

Hi Guys!
I am having the following problem with my webdynpro java application on CE 7.1:
In one of my dc's i am calling another dc which is an ejb. The called ejb calls a webservice.
(my dc --> ejb --> webservice)
My dc has nothing to do with the webservice. It just calls an ejb which calls a webservice.
Although I am getting a deploymentexception when I try to deploy my dc:
Caused by: java.io.FileNotFoundException: JAR entry META-INF/wsdl/....*.wsdl not found in /usr/sap/..../..wscl.war
I have no idea where I should put the wsdl file ...
Hope anyone can help me.
Cheers,
AndiSir
If I am not wrong you itself had mentioned that : My dc has nothing to do with the webservice. It just calls an ejb which calls a webservice.
Now I wanted to know about your workaround also request you to go at metadata file of your DC and chck that whether it contain the reference of the EJB or Webservice.
One more point : exception is FileNotFoundException so might you have manually put the reference of WSDL url/uri inside EJB xml file ??

Java.io.FileNotFoundException: URLConnection Destination
Hi,
I am using ADS for downloading Performance Management documents. So far I am successfully running interactive forms in my DEV and QUA system. However, it does not work in PROD. Here is the error I get:
<b>Caused by: java.io.FileNotFoundException: IO exception while constructing a URLConnection for destination: dest:FP_ICF_DATA_PROD//sap/bc/fp/form/layout/HAP_PDF_OFFLINE_FORM.XDP</b>
How can I fix the problem?
Thanks in advance.
/ ElvezHello Elvez,
I had the same problem. For me it was caused by the Authorizations which where not maintained in the Role SAP_BC_FPADS_ICF delivered by SAP for User ADS_AGENT.

Hi All,
While updating featuredTargetters though BCC UI, getting below exceptions and not able to save targetters after editing
Found file (_FeaturedCategories_xproperties._fa103307#3) in versionFileStore. But in exception stacktrace ,it is complaining about file (FeaturedCategories_xproperties._fa103307#2).
Not sure whether #2 and #3 really matters and causing this issue. Dont have backup folder to copy files from.
In DB, EPUB_FILE_ASSET table data is attached in excel.
Please help me to resolve this issue.

SQL Developer running slow, possibly caused by Java Virtual Machine
Dear all
I am currently working with SQL Developer 1.5.1, connecting to an Oracle database 10.2.0.2 and it is taking about 10 minutes for SQL Developer to load. I believe the problem may be due to the Java Development kit. I upgraded to the latest version last week.
The versions running according to Java settings is:
1.6 1.6.0_15 http://java.sun.com/products/autodl/j2se C:\Program Files\Java\jre6\bin\javaw.exe true
1.6 1.6.0_07 http://java.sun.com/products/autodl/j2se C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.6.0_07\bin\javaw.exe true
1.4 1.4.2 http://java.sun.com/products/autodl/j2se C:\Program Files\Java\j2re1.4.2\bin\javaw.exe trueHaving looked at other posts on here I have run SQL Developer with the console and the messages in that are as follows:

I would say the problem occurred within the last couple of months but has got much worse in recently weeks. SQL Developer is also slow at times, mainly when I've used another application and it is just in the background.

TimHi there
Thank you for taking the time to reply. I use GeoRaptor and for what I use it for, I have not come across any errors whilst using it.
I had no reference to the JDK in my SQL Developer configuration file. I did a search on my system and could not located a copy of JDK, or one in my programs installed control panel, so I installed it again. However I then found a copy in the sqldeveloper folder. However that wasn't referenced in my control panel.
However having added a reference to the JDK in my SQL Developer configuration file, pointing to C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.6.0_16, it seems to be taken even longer to load.
SQL Developer is using 98,608k once loaded and my system has 1.25GB of memory. Whilst loading I was using 1.38GB. For about a year I've had slightly less memory than I sometimes use. The reason for not having 2GB is due to a previous memory failure. However this did not cause a problem for SQL developer until more recently.
Would it be worth reinstalling GeoRapter?
Kind regards
Tim

Java.io.FileNotFoundException: The system cannot find the path specified
hi all.
have this problem
i have a jsp with the codes as follows:
try{
File f=new File("C:/Program Files/Apache Group/Tomcat 4.1/webapps/iiso/account.xml");
FileWriter fw=new FileWriter(f,false);
XMLConverter xmlc=new XMLConverter();
String msg=xmlc.ConvertToXML("account");
fw.write(msg);
fw.flush();
System.out.println("file printed");
}catch(IOException ioe)
System.out.println(ioe);
}it works prefectly on my comp but however when i posted it up on the dev server
which is running on tomcat 4.0
i got this error:
java.io.FileNotFoundException: P:\Program Files\Apache Tomcat 4.0\webapps\IISOelearn\account.xml (The system cannot find the path specified)
the dev server is running on P drive.
tried installing tomcat 4.0 on my com and the code runs well.
could there be other sources tt i miss out causing the error?
many thanx in advance!
=)Most probably the server has a different path setup from you.
Instead of hardcoding the full file path into your app, you should have the following
ServletContext application = getServletConfig().getServletContext();
String fileName = application.getRealPath("/account.xml");
File f = new File(fileName);The method ServletContext.getRealPath takes a WEBSITE relative link, and turns it into a real location on disk.
This makes your code completely independant of what machine it is installed on.
Cheers,

Java.io.FileNotFoundException (Too many file open)
Hi,
I have an application wherein I have to open an XMl file, make amends to it and then write it back. It is possible that the same XML file be opened more than once. After processing lots of XMl files I get the following error:

if (file==null)
response = builder.newDocument();
else
response = builder.parse(file);
catch(Exception e) { e.printStackTrace(); }
return response;
}Here also I am not explicitely opening any handle. parse method should close the file after creating a DOM tree.
I would appreciate if someone could give me some directions as to what might be wrong.
- ParitI'm finding that builder.parse(File) doesn't close the file. I now create a FileInputStream from the File and make sure I close it myself in a finally{} block.

Java.io.FileNotFoundException - ws-addressing.xsd
I'm getting the following exception when I deploy and view my BPEL Process in the BPEL Console. What could be causing this exception:
The following exception occured while loading this Process:
Exception Name:
java.io.FileNotFoundException
Exception Description:
C:\OraBPELPM_1\integration\orabpel\domains\default\tmp\.bpel_TESTBPEL_1.0.jar\$SERVER-URL$\orabpel\xmllib\ws-addressing.xsd (The system cannot find the path specified)
Suggested Fix:
Context:
Stack Trace:I'm also getting this when deploying from the Eclipse BPEL Designer plug in.
The only solution I've found so far is to replace "$SERVER-URL$" string in the deployed WSDL file for the process (found in {orabpelhome}/domains/default/tmp/.bpel_ProcessName_1.0.jar/) with the string for your server, e.g. "http://myserver:9700"
I think I've read that this occurs because the Eclipse plugin is not yet synched up with the latest BPEL release. -

Forwarding/Redirecting throws java.io.FileNotFoundException but file exists
http://www.mydomain.com/common/handler.jsp:
<jsp:forward page="/common/error_page.jsp" />This throws a java.io.FileNotFoundException:
java.io.FileNotFoundException: resource not found: /common/error_page.jspHowever, I can go to http://www.mydomain.com/common/error_page.jsp and verify that it does indeed exist.
Why would it throw a FileNotFoundException if not only does the forwarding page exist but exists within the exact same web module?
I checked ibm-web-ext.xml for the "common" web module to notice that fileServingEnabled="true".
Any ideas why this is happening?A forward is relative to the context root - not the server's root.
So assuming you have a web application called "common", and "common" is its context name, then "/" would already refer to http://www.mydomain.com/common/
Thus your forward should just be to "/handler.jsp"
A redirect is slightly different, because it is resolved on the client, not the server.
So if you had a web context "myContext"
You access it with http://www.mydomain.com/myContext
<jsp:forward page="/mypage.jsp"> (or getRequestDispatcher("/mypage.jsp")) would refer you to http://www.mydomain.com/myContext/mypage.jsp.
to achieve the same destination with a redirect you would have to have
response.sendRedirect("/myContext/mypage.jsp"); -

Thanks and Regards,
AkshayHi,
I was able to resolve the issue. Issue was in XML / BI publisher for the temporary directory.
I have setup a temp directory which was coming in error message. After removing that directory I was able to solve the error and Document Viewer Region started working as expected.
Thanks and Regards,

Hi!
I have been trying to make jBuilder7 Enterprise and WebLogic 7 Enterprise work
together for many days with no success. My problem is actually identical to one
issue recently posted on this user group:
From: CMPUser ([email protected])
Subject: Re: JB7+WL7 :Fail to run EJB and JSP in the same project
Date: 2002-09-20 10:40:48 PST
http://groups.google.com/groups?hl=en&lr=&ie=UTF-8&selm=3d8b5b77%241%40newsgroups.borland.com
All I am trying to do is to use the Wizard to build a very simple Servlet. I am
following the intructions described in the following document:
http://bdn.borland.com/article/images/28943/12289_3jbweblogic.pdf.
Once the project is created, I get the following error message when I try to run
it:
<Oct 13, 2002 6:42:48 PM EDT> <Notice> <WebLogicServer> <000331> <Started WebLogic
Admin
Server "myserver" for domain "mydomain" running in Development Mode>
<Oct 13, 2002 6:42:49 PM EDT> <Error> <HTTP> <101018> <[ServletContext(id=824316,name=JBuilder_DefaultWebApp,context-path=)]
Servlet
failed with ServletException javax.servlet.UnavailableException: ServletContext(id=824316,name=JBuilder_DefaultWebApp,context-path=):
The server myserver is temporarily suspended
java.io.FileNotFoundException: no resource '/servlet/borland.demo.web.TestServlet'
Apparently WebLogic can not find the generated Servelet. Remember: all I am trying
to do is run a Servlet generated by the JBuilder wizard. Nothing else!
In my attempt to resolve the problem I tried moving the java file within the same
directory as the .shtml file. I also changed the Servlet section of the
.shtml from:
<servlet
codebase=""
code="borland.demo.web.TestServlet.class"
>
to
<servlet
codebase=""
code="TestServlet.class"
>
I still get an error but the error message has changed. Unfortunatelly the exception
message does not provide much insight into the cause of the problem. All
I know is that I get an servlet.UnavailableException:
<[ServletContext(id=4211180,name=JBuilder_DefaultWebApp,context-path=)] Servlet
failed with ServletExceptionjavax.servlet.UnavailableException:
ServletContext(id=4211180,name=JBuilder_DefaultWebApp,context-path=): The server

at
weblogic.kernel.ExecuteThread.execute(ExecuteThread.java:153) at weblogic.kernel.ExecuteThread.run(ExecuteThread.java:134)>
Could someone please help me solve this? What should I look for? How do I go about
resolving this?
I thank you in advance for your time.
