Comparing 2 HashMap with the equals method
Hi,
Im trying to compare 2 HashMap with the equls method like this:
saveAnyWayMap.equals(keysMap)
The 2 HashMaps contains the following values and keys:
saveAnyWayMap: {P_PERSON.PA_TIDPKT=null, P_PERSON.P_PXXX92=xxx, P_PERSON.P_P
XXX91=xx, P_PERSON.P_PXXX90=xxx}
keysMap: {P_PERSON.PA_TIDPKT=null, P_PERSON.P_PXXX92=xxx, P_PERSON.P_PXXX91=
xx, P_PERSON.P_PXXX90=xxx}
Why dose the equals method return false?
When P_PERSON.PA_TIDPKT is not null the equals method returns true. Cant the values be null if you want to compare HashMaps or what is wrong?
Can someone please help?
Thanks!
/Lisa
Works fine when I use null objects in a hashmap. Are you sure it is the null values that gives you the problem? And is the key in both maps?
What if the only key-value pair you have is P_PERSON.PA_TIDPKT and null?
Do you use string objects as keys?

Over ride the equal method in java
Hi ,
I have doubt about on over ride the equal ? What is the main purpose of over ride the equal method ?
If equal method is override then why hash code method can be over ride?
sorry , If i am not post the right place .You have to override the equals method when your class has a notion of logical equality, because in that case you need more that the default one (the default one return true only if the reference of the compared Object is the same).
A good exemple is Date, where we consider that is two Dates have the same getTime() they are equals.

Hi all,
From Page 354 of the the Book "Pro T-SQL 2008 Programmer's Guide" written by Michael Coles (published by apress), I copied the following code (Listing 12-9 Retrieving Job Candidates with the query Method):
--Coles12_9.sql // saved in C:/Documemnts/SQL Server Management Studio
-- Coles Listing 12-9 Retrieving Job Candidates with the query Method
-- Doing XQuery and the xml Data Type in AdvantureWorks
-- 17 March 2015 1105 AM
USE AdventureWorks;
GO
SELECT Resume.query
N'//*:Name.First,
//*:Name.Middle,
//*:Name.Last,
//*:Edu.Level
FROM HumanResources.JobCandidate;
I executed this set of Listing 12-9 code in my SQL Server 2012 Management Studio and I got the following error messages:
Msg 105, Level 15, State 1, Line 4
Unclosed quotation mark after the character string '//*:Name.First,
//*:Name.Middle,
//*:Name.Last,
//*:Edu.Level
FROM HumanResources.JobCandidate;
Msg 102, Level 15, State 1, Line 4
Incorrect syntax near '//*:Name.First,
//*:Name.Middle,
//*:Name.Last,
//*:Edu.Level
FROM HumanResources.JobCandidate;
I am not able to figure out why I got the error messages. Please kindly help and advise me how to correct this set of sql codes.
Thanks in advance,
Scott ChangHi Scott,
I don't have that book at hand, but your problem is the "Unclosed quotationmark after the character string",as the error message shows. You have to enclose the 'XQUERY' string quotation in the
query().
SELECT jobcandidateid, Resume.query
N'//*:resume,
//*:Name.Middle,
//*:Name.Last,
//*:Edu.Level' --enclose the quotation here
FROM HumanResources.JobCandidate;
For XQUERY learning, here is a good
link.
If you have any question, feel free to let me know.

Problem with the renameTO method in the Linux environment
Hi
I got a problem with the renameTO method in the Linux environment. The file is not moving.
This method is returning false. the same code executed successfully in Windows environment.
Can anyone give some fix to this one or an alternate solution to move the files in both windows and Linux.
boolean success;
File root = new File(tempPath);
File f = new File(root, phyFileName);
File dest = new File(targetPath);
success = f.renameTo(new File(dest, actualFileName));actualFileName = 400.doc

Can u solve the below doubt.
Will renameTo method wont work in Linux? If so why?Did you not read what I said? I suspect you are trying to rename a file so that it actually has to be moved to a different volume (partition or hard disk) so it won't work. One would have the same problem on Windows trying to rename a file on the c: drive to a name on the d: drive.

Can u give a sample or good link to do the above work which works fine in all environments.?Just follow the pseudo code I gave. 15 minutes work. -
Need some help with the String method
Hello,
I have been running a program for months now that I wrote that splits strings and evaluates the resulting split. I have a field only object (OrderDetail) that the values in the resulting array of strings from the split holds.Today, I was getting an array out of bounds exception on a split. I have not changed the code and from I can tell the structure of the message has not changed. The string is comma delimited. When I count the commas there are 26, which is expected, however, the split is not coming up with the same number.
Here is the code I used and the counter I created to count the commas:
public OrderDetail stringParse(String ord)
OrderDetail returnOD = new OrderDetail();
int commas = 0;
for( int i=0; i < ord.length(); i++ )
if(ord.charAt(i) == ',')
commas++;
String[] ordSplit = ord.split(",");
System.out.println("delims: " + ordSplit.length + " commas: " + commas + " "+ ordSplit[0] + " " + ordSplit[1] + " " + ordSplit[2] + " " + ordSplit[5]);
The rest of the method just assigns values to fields OrderDetail returnOD.
Here is the offending string (XXX's replace characters to hide private info)
1096200000000242505,1079300000007578558,,,2013.10.01T23:58:49.515,,USD/JPY,Maker,XXX.XX,XXX.XXXXX,XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX,USD,Sell,FillOrKill,400000.00,Request,,,97.7190000,,,,,1096200000000242505,,,
For this particular string, ordSplit.length = 24 and commas = 26.
Any help is appreciated. Thank you.Today, I was getting an array out of bounds exception on a split
I don't see how that could happen with the 'split' method since it creates its own array.
For this particular string, ordSplit.length = 24 and commas = 26.
PERFECT! That is exactly what it should be!
Look closely at the end of the sample string you posted and you will see that it has trailing empty strings at the end: '1096200000000242505,,,'
Then if you read the Javadocs for the 'split' method you will find that those will NOT be included in the resulting array:
http://docs.oracle.com/javase/6/docs/api/java/lang/String.html#split(java.lang.String)
split
public String[] split(String regex)
Splits this string around matches of the given regular expression. This method works as if by invoking the two-argument split method with the given expression and a limit argument of zero. Trailing empty strings are therefore not included in the resulting array.
Just a hunch but your 'out of bounds exception' is likely due to your code assuming that there will be 26 entries in the array and there are really only 24. -
What would be the result if we overrode the equals method properly
import java.util.*;
class Nearly{
String value:
Nearly(String v){ value = v;}
public int hashCode(){ return 1;}
public boolean equals(Nearly n){
if(value.charAt(0) == n.value.charAt(0)) return true;
return false;
public static void mian(String [] sss){
Nearly n1 = new Nearly("aaa");
Nearly n2 = new Nearly("aaa");
String s = "_";
if(n1.equals(n2)) s += "1";
if(n1==n2) s += "2";
Set <Nearly> set = new HashSet <Nearly>();
set.add(n1);
set.add(n2);
System.out.println(s + " " + set.size());
}Ans: b) -1 2
Reason: Two different equals() methods are invoked, because the equals() method shown in the code doesn't properly override Object.equals(), which takes an Object
Ok so what would have been the result if the equals() method was something like this:
public boolean equals(Object n)
{I guess my question is about the overriding the equals() method which i am not able to understandpksingh79 wrote:
what would be the result if we overrode the equals method properlyThe result would be a method, the functionality of which would adhere to Object#equals()'s contract:
public boolean equals(Object obj)
Indicates whether some other object is "equal to" this one.
The equals method implements an equivalence relation on non-null object references:
* It is reflexive: for any non-null reference value x, x.equals(x) should return true.
* It is symmetric: for any non-null reference values x and y, x.equals(y) should return true if and
only if y.equals(x) returns true.
* It is transitive: for any non-null reference values x, y, and z, if x.equals(y) returns true and
y.equals(z) returns true, then x.equals(z) should return true.
* It is consistent: for any non-null reference values x and y, multiple invocations of x.equals(y)
consistently return true or consistently return false, provided no information used in equals
comparisons on the objects is modified.
* For any non-null reference value x, x.equals(null) should return false. -
Please help a newbie with simple equal methode
With my little know how of java I have written this methode
to test the equality of two LinkedSet data structures.
provided that the linkedSet class and the iterator are
implemented correctly , can some one help me please to
figure out what is wrong or give an alternate solution.
Thanks in advance
* Return true if this set and the parameter contain
* exactly the same elements
public boolean equals(SetADT setADT) throws IllegalStateException
boolean result=false;
if(this.size()!=setADT.size())
throw new IllegalStateException(" Two sets are not equal");
Iterator a=this.iterator();
Iterator b=setADT.iterator();
LinkedSet temp1=new LinkedSet();
LinkedSet temp2=new LinkedSet();
while(a.hasNext())
temp1.add(a.next());
temp2.add(b.next());
Iterator c=temp1.iterator();
Iterator d=temp2.iterator();
if(c.next().equals(d.next()))
temp1.remove(c.next());
temp2.remove(d.next());
result=(temp1.isEmpty()&&temp2.isEmpty());
return result;while(a.hasNext())
temp1.add(a.next());
temp2.add(b.next());
Iterator c=temp1.iterator();
Iterator d=temp2.iterator();
if(c.next().equals(d.next())) // <- Watch missing braces !
temp1.remove(c.next());
temp2.remove(d.next());
result=(temp1.isEmpty()&&temp2.isEmpty());
}Whay are you doing all that extra iteration stuff?
I mean, I see what you are getting at ...towards the empty final objects. But isn't that a really exhaustive way the get to the end of this problem? The end doesn't justify the means.
Start assuming result = true
In your while loop...
Just test 'if (!(a.next().equals(b.next())) {'
If it ever does, something didn't match.
So set result = false and 'break' from the loop.
At the end of the method, result will be either true or false accordingly.
Code that up and it should work better. But ...can we assume the iterators traverse the set in the same order always? That is the question I would ask here. -

You can use your balance for your own purchases only. -
Hi! I want to know if it exist a way to use the mailForm method (this is javascript) in adobe reader 9.3?

When I run my javascript, I got the following error: "NotAllowedError: Security settings prevent access to this property or method.

(Here, FI_ENVOYER is the name of my button).
Tanks for the help!My document have this rights:

Print: Allowed
Assemble the document: Unauthorized
Copy of content: Allowed
Copy of content for accessibility: Allowed
Extract pages: Allowed
Comments: Allowed
Filing form fields: Allowed
Affixing signature: Allowed
Creating pages models: Unauthorized
Is "Creating pages models" or "Assemble the document" can prevent the use of the mailForm method?
I know that the mailForm requires privileges, but how can I allow these two rights who are unhauthorized?
Is there something else I can do to be able to use the method "mailForm" without having the "NotAllowedError"?

Problems with the dispatchEvent-Methode
Hallo,
I have a strange problem with above mentioned methode
I have a JTextField, and I want that only numeric inputs are
accepted, so I used a KeyListener -Interface in the following way
public void keyTyped(KeyEvent e)
JTextField field =(JTextField)e.getSource();
char c =e.getKeyChar();
if(c>57 | c<46 |c==47 &&c >31)
field.dispatchEvent(e);
the other methodes keyPressed and keyReleased are implemented in the same way.
So if I type in now in my JTextField an 'a' or whatsoever
then the following Exception occurs:

Mmh, and this is not the whole Exception message.
There are missing a couple of lines.
But may be one of you knows what my mistake is.
Thanks advance.This is not the best way to validate for numerics. Check out the "Creating a Validated Text Field" section from the Swing tutorial:

Automated process to compare new data with the existing
Below is the requested task and I am not sure if I can do this with only Database and ETL skill.
"New customers access out site and I get a http:// request notifying me with new people accessing our website. I need to somehow take this new customer and compare with the existing customer table and make sure that it is not an existing one.
If it is new , I need to send a http:// notification back to a third party saying that this is new. Also, this all has to be done REAL TIME. "
I am not sure if I can do all these real time by just using SSIS .
Any input is much appreciated. Stay warm Folks!A new customer has to register, am I right? Then issue SELECT * FROM Customers WHERE Customerid=@CustomerID IF @@ROWCOUNT=0 that means it is a new one... You can use EXEC msdb.dbo.sp_send_dbmail to send a notification ....

Prevent save with the DO_HANDLE_DATA methode
Hiii,
I want to check some input values with the methode DO_HANDLE_DATA method. After pushing the save button, I check the input values and if the input values does not match certain criteria, I throw an error message with the following code:
global_messages->add_message(
condition = co_cancel_event_prefix
message = TEXT-010
severity = cl_bsp_messages=>co_severity_error ).
dummy = me->component_id ).
At the first time, It is possible to prevent save the input values but if I push the save button again, the input values are saved. The method DO_HANDLE_DATA is not invoked again.
I have not the possiblitiy to redefine an event like EH_ONSAVE, that will be invoked every time when pushing the save button.
Could anyone explain me, how to solve my problem? Should I use a different method instead of DO_HANDLE_DATA?
Kind Regards,
JohnHi Harris,
Although the DO_PREPARE_OUTPUT would be triggered, normally we dont code the before save logic there. Its recommended to put the logic in EH_OnSave or other such event handlers.
I am not aware of your exact scenario but normally you can get an instance of your context node in Eh_OnSave using the following template if the eventhandler is at the view controller impl class.
me->typed_context-><<Context Node>>->collection_wrapper->get_collection( )
Otherwise if your context nodes are bound to custom controller,you can get to the typed context node via custom controller instance
lr_cuco TYPE REF TO <<CustomController Impl class>>
lr_cuco ?= get_custom_controller( '<<Name of CuCo>>' ).
lr_entity ?= lr_cuco->typed_context-><<Your Context Node>>->collection_wrapper->get_current( ).
Hope this helps.

Weblogic 8.1 SP2 does not support 'Order by' clause in EJB-QL
It seems that Weblogic 8.1 SP2 does not support 'Order by' clause in EJB-QL. EJB 2.1 spec supports 'Order by' clause in EJB-QL. Am I right when I say that it indicates : "Weblogic 8.1 SP2 does not support EJB 2.1" ? In that case, what can be the alte
