Comparing local installed plug-in to 'master' version for update checks?

I'd like to add the ability for my plugin to (correctly) state "An update for this plugin is available" when one is.
We have a network master location that contains the latest revision.
How would I check if the user's copy is older than that version?
Using Acrobat SDK 7 and Visual Studio 2005.

You'd have to develop your own method for doing this, there is no support for this functionality in the SDK. Updating is all on the developer, the SDK simply allows you to integrate with Acrobat.
Perhaps a const char* pluginVersion = "1.0" in your plug-in, and check that against some sort of update manifest on your server location, like most updaters do?

Installed the latest flash player version for safari on mac but not working

I have installed the latest version of flash player as prompted by facebook. when i go to use it, facebook keeps telling me to install the new update. Please help. I am running Safari version 6.0.5. I have run the install a couple of times, it says installation is complete. But Facebook keeps prompting me to upgrade. I have installed, shutdown the computer and restarted but yet I still get this message.

The latest OS X Lion version and OS X Mountain Lion include Gatekeeper, a feature that is set up to prevent the installation and opening of apps that don't come from the Mac App Store or are from identified developers (apps without Developer ID). See > http://support.apple.com/kb/ht5290
To install the TomTom application, you have two options:
1. Right-click the installer, and choose "Open". Do the same after installing the application, when you are going to open the application for the first time.
2. Open System Preferences > Security & Privacy > General, and choose "Anywhere" under "Allow applications downloaded from". This will work for all the applications

ITunes Match master account for updates

Is there a MASTER computer/mac/pc/itunes library that the cloud pulls information from and sends back too? I am "cleaning" up my itunes to include deleting duplicates, adding missing artwork and combining the compilations together such as the "NOW! That is what I call Music" CD's. I have spend days and hours making one machine right. I have some 23 thousand songs.
I want all my Macs (I have 4), my PC's (2) and my iPhones, Touch and iPads to have all the same artwork and compilations together. It does not seem to work as I expect it to.
Am I waisting my time doing all of this cleanup work? I also am running into this a lot. After I became a match user my itunes library has doubled. Why are my albums showen doubled? One on my iTunes and the other in the cloud?

When you enable iTunes Match the cloud is what becomes the "master" library. Although, I know I think of my laptop as the "master" that's not really how it works. However, what you can do is keep the actual files in only one iTunes library for purposes of keeping ID3 tags up to date. Any changes made in that library will then be automatically propagated out to all associated devices.

Did you purchase this particular album from the iTunes Store? If so you may be able to fix this particular one by deleting it from the iTunes library, and the cloud, then downloading it again from your purchase history. Just be sure you have a current backup first. You don't want to delete something and not be able to recover it.

? First log on to SAP R/3 server connections Go to SCC4 in R/3 & in Scc4 BW server. A screen opens in that logical name of the system would be opened in both (R/3 & BW).
? Take notepad in it save .R/3 & BW logical names go to R/3 & click SM59 to create R/3 connections click then a screen opens gives BW logical name in RFC Destination option & give connection. type 3 & give some description & then press enter.
? You will get another screen under it then at target host gives BW server name we will get it from BW logon change ID, IP address option & give the system no. The system no go to logon pad just drag it then you will see the name.

SimpleValidator only validate versions on updates with repeatabler read?!

I was testing the SimpleValidator and my example seemed to indicated that it ONLY checks that the enlisted (old) version is the same as the locked (current) version for UPDATED objects if the isolation level is repeatable read (or presumably higher)! I would have expected this check to be done no matter what the isolation level was... I thought it was ONLY reads that was not verified in the read commited isolation level compared to read commited...
It would also be nice to know if one can change how versions are calculated from cache objects simply by overriding the calculateVersion method (my tests indicates that this is possible but I would like to get it confirmed!). After introducing POF (using separate serializers) I was very happy to avoid having my cached busines objects implement Coherence classes or interfaces and would not like to break this again by using Versionable....

I also rewrote the original program only using transaction maps (my first version assumed that I could create detectable conflicts using dirty reads/writes outside of a transacvtion map just as well as complete and fully commited transaction maps) but this did not change anything either:

Driver version for NI4351 under XP

Hello,
I am trying to use a NI4351 board to acquire thermocouples under VB.Net with NIDaq 6.9.3f5. I have a driver on the CD that comes with the board. However, installing the driver shows a version for WinNT/95/98. I downloaded from NI Web Site and foudn an ni435x.exe that is supposed to work with Win2K/XP.
When installing it also shows version for WinNT/98/95.
When calling functions for the driver, I always get an error FFFFD800. Sample installed with the drvier show up the same problem.

Currently .NET is not a supported platform for that driver. I know some people have had success getting things to work, but it will take some know-how on your part. Here are some comments from another .NET user with the NI-435x driver. This customer was using C#.
1) The NI 435x driver must be installed
2) LabWindows/CVI support must be installed (under DAQ traditional drivers)
3) Each DLL method that is to be called must be declared using the DllImport attribute and both the extern and static modifiers.
For example, the following is the declaration for the NI435X_Getting_Started_No_Acc method:

BW 3.5 IDES version for x64 Urgent

JNLP javaws error: requested version of JRE...not locally installed

First: I am a user not a developer and have very limited understanding of JDK, JRE, and Java Web Start. I just want to figure out how to get these applications to run. I suspect it is a JAVA bug that is peculiar to my particular Windows XP-SP2 system configuration.
My Problem: When trying to run (two different/independent applications) java web start applications, I get the following error.
The application has requested a version of the JRE (version 1.4) that currently is not locally installed. Java Web Start is unable to automatically download and install the requested version. This JRE must be installed manually.+

I should note that the required JRE is installed. I have various builds of versions 1.4 through 1.6 installed on my laptop. And my gut tells me that it is not the JNLP file that is the problem. I believe it to be a problem (bug) with java, JRE, or javaws that shows up with my particular PC configuration (which I did not set up but don't believe is particularly unusual).
Another interesting and possibly related problem, is that when I goto the java application control panel (Start->Control Panel->Java) and select the "Java" tab, there is a lower section for "Java Application Runtime Settings". If I slect the "View" button a screen appears with two tabs: User and System. There are no entries under either tab. I can "Add" an entry under the user tab (and find the path to the correct java version etc.) and "Apply" the settings. I cannot add anyting under the system tab (even the my user ID is part of the administrator group and should have full system access). Even after applying this change, I still cannot run the java web start application. If I close the control panel and reopen it, the JRE path that I "added" is no longer listed under "View". This seems odd behavior. It is as if there is some configuration file or environment variable somewhere that is not getting set/saved.
Please....is there anyone that has seen this problem and has a suggested fix. I have googled this problem and found a very few seemingly relevant pieces of info but it seemed more of a developer issue and I do have the background to understand the proposed fixes.

Epson P.I.M. II Plug-in v2.2 install error with CS4 trial version

Hello,
I am using a trial version of CS4 that I just downloaded & installed (works fine). I tried installing Epson's ICC color profile for the 1280 printer with the P.I.M. II Plug-in v2.2 installer from the Epson website (http://www.epson.com/cgi-bin/Store/support/supDetail.jsp?BV_UseBVCookie=yes&oid=14387&prod oid=28907797&infoType=Downloads&platform=All). It doesn't install and gives the following error:
"Adobe Photoshop 6.0/7.0/CS or Photoshop Elements 1.0/2.0/3.0 was not found on your computer. The plugin was not installed."
Has anyone else encountered this? Epson tech support was no help ("...Call Adobe").
Q: Does this error happen with the full CS4 version (not just the trial?)
Q: Perhaps CS4 includes the Epson ICC's with no separate installation of Epson software? If I select print from CS4, there is a Epson Stylus Photo 1280 available in the Printer Profile drop down. I wonder if I am missing anything by not being able to install the PIM ICC profile.
?? Anyone have any thoughts??

You're trying to install a very out of date and unnecessary plugin.
The Epson ICC profiles come with the printer driver - they have nothing to do with the obsolete PIM plugin.
