Compiling a cfc/cfm coldfusion file

I've got the source code for an app in coldfusion that I'd
like to compile.
There are a bunch of cfc and cfm files. I have coldfusion 8.0
installed on the server too.
These cfc and cfm files work with java I believe.
Would anyone have any ideas how to comfile these cfc/cfm
files to work with java?
Any questions, please feel free to ask. Thanks!

Just to give you a heads up on that you are going to read
from JR's link.
CFML is, more or less, a scripted language and you do not
compile it.
The code does get compiled, but usually at run time when you
access a
.cfm or .cfc file on a web server configured with the
ColdFusion
application server.
There are methods to pre-compile code as of the latest
version I
believe, but it is often not bothered with.

  • I can't open .cfm (ColdFusion) files in Preview anymore.

    Hello, I was able to open a .cfm form in Preview last week but for some reason I can no longer open them and when I click the file Preview pops up but nothing opens. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    download adobe reader for mac. even with adobe it's still weird. if you open adobe and then hit file-->open, you cannot select the .cfm file. However, right right click on the file you want to open and then hit 'open with' and then choose adobe reader. that worked for me.

  • Trying to dynamically load CSS for project at compile time via config XML file to select CSS file.

    I'm using the same code base to compile different versions of a project. Each project has different base fonts. I've created multiple css files that use the same style names. The idea being that in the code I reference the style names, then the loaded CSS determines which font (and size, color, etc) is used for each style name.
    The CSS files are compiling to SWFs, and those SWFs are referenced in config.xml files. Before compiling, I select the config file to use.
    I am loading the CSS SWF files via the StyleManager in the Application.mxml, like so:
      styleManager.loadStyleDeclarations( _contentData.elements( 'cssPath' ).@path )
    The path traces out correctly as:
    assets_embed/styles/project2.swf
    For some reasone I must include an fx:Style line in the Application.mxml file or no fonts are recognized. Example:
      <fx:Style source="assets_embed/styles/project1.css"/>
    If I reference the css for project one (as done above) then most, but not all, styles work. Some styles reference the fonts from the project 1 css, others properly use fonts from project 2 swf. If I point to the CSS for the project I'm compiling in the <fx:Style > tag then all fonts work, but that defeats the goal of using XML rather than code to identify the styles.
    So, why do I need the fx:Style line if the css is being loaded via StyleManager?
    Why is there "cross talk" between style definitions?
    Is there a better way to select styles at compile time?

    I read this quickly so I might have missed a detail.  I think your describing an issue with recent Flex releases that is described in the fine print somewhere.  If you don't have any fonts embedded in the main app and are only bringing in fonts embedded in CSS SWFs, you have to force-link the EmbeddedFontRegistry by adding something like this to the main app's script block.
    import mx.core.EmbeddedFontRegistry; EmbeddedFontRegistry;
    (Yes, "EmbeddedFontRegistry" is in there twice, once to define the fully qualified name, the other to create a class dependency to force the linking).

  • Oracle EBS R12 - how to compile jsp and keep .java file

    Hello.
    When I compile the jsp file, it will create the _pagename.class file into $COMMON_TOP/_pages directory. Some of the time it also keep _pagename.java file in there.
    How can force the compiler to keep the java file always.  I am using following command which creates _pagename.class file.
    perl $FND_TOP/patch/115/bin/ojspCompile.pl --compile -s 'ptcResponse.jsp' --flush
    It keeps the _pagename.java file some of the times and not other, example if the compilation fails then java files stored there otherwise only class.
    There has to be some way/location to see/keep the _pagename.java file, we need them for troubleshooting runtime error.

    It keeps the _pagename.java file some of the times and not other, example if the compilation fails then java files stored there otherwise only class.
    This is an expected behaviour.
    There has to be some way/location to see/keep the _pagename.java file, we need them for troubleshooting runtime error.
    The "perl ojspCompile.pl" command doesn't offer this -- Issue "perl ojspCompile.pl" and you will see what options are available.
    Your option is to keep/save the java files in a different directory.

  • JSP compiler reading the web.xml file?

    Hi,
              I am trying to use the weblogic JSP compiler (weblogic.jspc) to
              pre-compile some JSP that use custom tags. Does the compiler
              read the web.xml file if there is one? In particular the taglib
              elements in that file so that the compiler understands the
              <%@ taglib ... %> directive.
              In the JSP I try to compile I use this statement to declare a taglib:
              <%@ taglib uri="xyz/xyz-taglib" prefix="xyz" %>
              and in my web.xml I have:
              <taglib>
              <taglib-uri>xyz/xyz-taglib</taglib-uri>
              <taglib-location>/WEB-INF/tlds/xyz.tld</taglib-location>
              </taglib>
              When I try to compile the JSP I get the following error:
              Could not parse embedded JSP code: weblogic.utils.ParsingException: nested
              IOException: java.io.IOException: cannot resolve 'xyz/xyz-taglib' into a
              valid tag library.
              Any ideas how I can resolve this?
              In advance thank you for any help.

  • How to compile and execute a generated file

    Hi,
    Can somebody help me please? My program goes like this:
    I'm creating a program wherein there are two TextArea, left and right, and a button. The role of the left TextArea is where I will type a Java code (what i mean is a class). After typing, the next thing is to press the button. The role of the button, in a user side view, is to show the output of the written java code from the left TextArea to the right TextArea. To have an idea of the program I am creating please refer at this link, http://w3schools.com/html/tryit.asp?filename=tryhtml_tables. This is similar to what im doing.
    My idea is to transfer all what are written in the left TextArea in a file using FileOutputStream and name the file by default as "Testing.java". Definitely the user shall be forced to write a class named Testing.java in the left TextArea. My question is, how am I gonna compile the generated Testing.java, run it at once and post the output at the left TextArea?
    I hope somebody could help me regarding this matter. Below is my code I've done:

    Hi, thank you for your replies, I found out few things about my servlet, and its portability
    and i have few questions, although i marked this topic as answered i guess its ok to post
    I am using javax.servlet.context.tempdir to store my files in that servletcontext temporary directory. But i dont know how to give hyperlink
    of the modified files to the user for them to download the modified files.
    What i am using to get the tempdir i will paste
    File baseurl = (File)this.getServletContext().getAttribute("javax.servlet.context.tempdir");
    System.out.println(baseurl);
    baseurl = new File(baseurl.getAbsolutePath()+File.separator+"temp"+File.separator+"files");
    baseurl.mkdirs();so i am storing my files in that temp/files folder and the servlet processes them and modifies them, then how to present them as
    links to the user for download ?
    and as the servlet is multithreaded by nature, if my servlet gets 2 different requests with same file names, i guess one of them will be overwritten
    And i want to create unique directory for each request made to the servlet , so file names dont clash.
    one another thing is that i want my servlet to be executed by my <form action> only, I dont want the user to simply type url and trigger the servlet

  • Matisse Compiler ...convert xml files into java files.....

    We have a matisse compiler which reads the *.xml files and converts this into *.java files. Do we have a plugin
    for this compiler which can by used with MyEclipse or Eclipse.

    Does anybody know how to convert x.class file back to a x.java file.As Dr.Clap said, that's decompiling.
    Or in other terms, extract .java files from a jarfile??That isn't quite the same thing. You can decompile a .class that's in a jar, but a .class file doesn't have to be in a jar and a file in a jar isn't necessarily a .class.

  • How to compile and run a .java file from another java program

    hello,
    can any one tell me how to compile and run a *.java* file from another java program which is not in same directory?

    Well a smarter way of implementing this is by using a solution provided by Java Itself.
    If you are using J2SE 6.0+ there is an in built solution provided along with JDK itself and inorder to go ahead with solution the below are set of API which you;d be using it for compiling Java Programs (Files)
    http://java.sun.com/javase/6/docs/api/javax/tools/package-summary.html
    How do i do that ??
    Check out the below articles which would help you of how to do that
    http://www.ibm.com/developerworks/java/library/j-jcomp/index.html
    http://www.javabeat.net/javabeat/java6/articles/java_6_0_compiler_api_1.php
    http://books.google.com/books?id=WVbpv8SQpkEC&pg=PA155&lpg=PA155&dq=%22javax+tools%22+compiling+java+file&source=web&ots=XOt0siYe-f&sig=HH27ovuwvJgklIf8omTykUmy-eM
    Now once we are done with compilation.In order to run a Specific class all you ought to do is create an object and its specific methods of a specified class included in the CLASSPATH which you can manage it easily by usage little bit reflections.
    Hope that might help :)

  • Put the debug point in coldfusion file for line by line debugging

    I need to debug the existing coldfusion project line by line. so i configured coldfusion9 and coldfusionbuilder2. I installed coldfusion9 in inbuilt server mode.
    I have window7 as os. I set the line debugging property via launch Adminstrator.
    Now i am able to see the debug output on browser but not able to put the debug break point in coldfusion file.
    Please provide the necessary steps to put the debug break point in coldfusion file so that i am able to debug line by line.

    You just need to double click in the left hand gutter (on the line number if you are displaying line #'s) at the line for which you want to set a breakpoint.  The breakpoint will appear as a blue dot in the gutter and will appeaer in the "breakpoints" view in the ColdFusion Debug perspective.
    You will also need to set up the server information within CFB2, and point your project to the server for debugging to function.

    The compiler is complaining about the file name being too long. This is happening because the java classes when generated from XSD contains deep nesting of inner classes. So when it comes to compile the .class name file is too long for the operating system.
    I am trying this on unix box.
    I wonder if there is a way to configure XJC so that it does not produce inner classes but instead keep them out.
    Any help would be appreciated.

    Flattening your schema definition will flatten the output files, too -- that will probably be nice for coding as well since you wont have to use class names such as SomeTypeNestedInAnotherTypeThatHasYetAnotherType. Instead of having all of the elements defined directly within the enclosing root element, define logical chunks at the top level and incorporate them in the definition of real root element of your documents by reference.

  • How to Compile (Overwrite .Fmx) if fmx file is opened?

    Hi,
    How to Compile (Overwrite .Fmx) if fmx file is opened? Is there any parameter to be set on server or something else?
    i am using 10g application server

    I think W1zard is refering to the setting/usage of FORMS_MMAP=FALSE, which means NOT working with memory mapping, that is the problem.
    Both metalink notes advise against Setting FORMS_MMAP=FALSE in Production environments.
    I also found another website where they advise against it for Production environments.
    We do not use it because of that...
    Excerpt from Metalink note 151618.1 - Unable to Replace .fmx Files 'On The Fly' During Forms Runtime
    When the FORMSxx_MMAP value to 0 or FALSE, Oracle Forms by-passes the default memory mapping
    and writes the file to memory for each time accessed. Thus, the executables are left closed
    on the file system, allowing for updates even during Forms Runtime. The disadvantage is that
    this may increase memory usage and reduce performance because the whole file structure
    is loaded into memory.
    For production systems, it is recommended that FORMSxx_MMAP should be unset or set to a value of 1 or TRUE
    Excerpt from Metalink note 286762.1 - How to Replace Forms Runtime Files in Production Environments 'On The Fly'
    One solution for this problem is to use parameter FORMS_MMAP/FORMS90_MMAP/
    FORMS60_MMAP/FORMS50_MMAP/FORMS45_MMAP as described
    in the following document :
    Note 151618.1 "Unable to Replace .fmx Files 'On The Fly' During Forms Runtime"
    However as described in this document, this parameter should not be used in production
    environments.http://orafrm.blogspot.com/2007/07/formsmmap.html

  • Flex app calling CF cfc to download file gets "Channel disconnected" fault

    I am a newbie with ColdFusion and Flex. I am trying to implement file download/streaming functionality in my Flex 4.5 application and I am running ColdFusion 9 as my back end. More specifically, I have a component in my Flex app that displays a list of files - some of these files can be available for opening (or "previewing") via the client. I want the client to be able to click a button and download the file from the ColdFusion server, after the appropriate security checks are performed (also in ColdFusion). Right now I am just trying to get the basic download functionality to work with a very simple cfc. Here is the cfc code:
    <cfcomponent displayname="Preview Document"
         output="false">
         <cffunction name="streamFile" access="remote" returntype="any">
              <cfargument name="filename" displayName="Filename" type="string" required="true" />
              <cfheader name="Content-Disposition" value="attachment;filename=#filename#" >
              <cfcontent type="application/unknown" file="c:\myserverpath\#filename#">
         </cffunction>
    </cfcomponent>
    When I try this via a cfm, it works fine (I get a File Download window where I can choose to either open or save the file). But when I try to use this in my Flex app, I get an error.
    In my Flex app, I have a RemoteObject to access my cfc and a CallResponder:
    <s:RemoteObject id="PreviewDocument"
       source="PreviewDocument"
       destination="ColdFusion"
       showBusyCursor="true"/>
      <s:CallResponder id="PreviewDocumentResult"
        fault="Alert.show('CallResponder PreviewDocumentResult: ' +
        event.fault.faultString + '\n' + event.fault.faultDetail)"
        result="PreviewDocumentResult_resultHandler(event)"/>
    Then I created a button whose click even executes the following line:
    PreviewDocumentResult.token = PreviewDocument.streamFile("myfile.pdf");
    When I run my app, I get the following fault:
    faultCode = "Client.Error.DeliveryInDoubt"
    faultString = "Channel disconnected"
    faultDetail = "Channel disconnected before an acknowledgement was received"
    I have tried many different approaches and searched online for help with this fault, but I could not find any helpful clue to where I can start investigating this.
    Can anyone help with why I am getting this fault?
    Thanks in advance.

    @sir_teddy, thanks for your reply again.
    Yes I have created a simple cfc that returns a string successfully (in fact I had used the same cfc and basically just commented out the cfcontent and cfheader tags, and returned the name of the file being requested in the cfreturn tag). When I un-comment the cfcontent tag from the code, the error comes back.
    So I am really at a loss here...

  • ASC 2.0 ant - does not load compiler constants from config.xml files

    Constants added to the mxmlc task with a config xml file do not work.
    Below, the CONFIG::debug and CONFIG::release constants will compile, but the one defined in the config-common.xml file (CONFIG::pi) does not.

    <load-config filename="config-as-beta.xml" />
    <load-config filename="@{load-config}" />

    </define>
    </compiler>
    </flex-config>
    Compiling a ".as" file with something something like "trace(CONFIG::pi);" will result in "Error: Can not resolve config constant: 'pi'" with the ant macro.
    Using the Flash Builder 4.7 compiler with "Addition compiler arguments" set to "-define+=CONFIG::debug,true -define+=CONFIG::release,false -load-config+=config-common.xml -inline" does not produce the error.

    I'm not sure I added the bug to the right place anymore.  It's been added to bugbase.adobe.com under AIR 3.4, but  I'm not sure if that covers the actionscript compiler 2 or not because I found another bug tracker at bugs.adobe.com.  The actual bug is here: https://bugbase.adobe.com/index.cfm?event=bug&id=3339017
    Does anyone know where to post bugs for the actionscript compiler 2.0?
