Compiling & Installing Example Jar

I have a Vodafone V710, just bought it.
I have created an sample application with NetBeans to run on my phone.
Installing the JAR over USB with the V710 tool doesnt work.
So I found out that there is a lot of discussions about the DRM.
I tried to find out how to create a DRM JAR, its pretty complicated, important is that you have i think a device key and application manifuctorer key or something.
I found a tool called DRM packer on sony-erricson site, but thats only for media files I think.
I have to use NMIT_41.zip (Nokia Mobile Internet Toolkit) i think, i did not test this yet.
I read some specs about DRM and theoretically via USB, Bluetooth,MMS,WAP its installable, but V710 only is WAP-enabled for JAR files, i think.
I can make or check for a WAP sniffer for special HTTP tags to determine what type of JAR to send...
But I would like to have:
- the A to Z of making a example JAR application
- thats compatible on all Java-compatible mobiles, so PHP code of the WAP side too
- and a list of what tools to use
- maybe a tutorial
Can some help,
I am looking for days now.

Hi ,
     As suggested by you we have installed Java5. But still the problem persists. The details configuration of the PI7.1 server is as follows:

  • CommandAction works through OnDeviceDebug, but not when installed from jar

    Hi everybody,
    I'm trying to run a HelloMIDlet example and if I run it on emulator it works fine, also when I run it on mobile through OnDeviceDebug from eclipse it works fine, but when I install a jar file and run the application it ends with Application Error message and it exits. I found out that the problem might be in the CommandAction method, because when I use this:
    public void commandAction(Command c, Displayable s) {
              notifyDestroyed();
    }then the application works also when installed from jar, but when I use this:
    public void commandAction(Command c, Displayable s) {
       String label = new String("Exit");   //just for test
       if (label.equals("Exit"))
         notifyDestroyed();
    }then it ends with Application Error right after I run the program (and it works when I use OnDeviceDebug). I'm using jdk1.5.0_06 and WTK from Sony Erricsson (my target device is W800i, which supports CLDC1.1 and MIDP2.0)
    My manifest file is
    Manifest-Version: 1.0
    MicroEdition-Configuration: CLDC-1.1
    MIDlet-Name: HelloMIDlet
    Created-By: Sun Microsystems Inc.
    MIDlet-Vendor: Sun Microsystems, Inc.
    MIDlet-1: HelloMIDlet, , HelloMIDlet
    MIDlet-Version: 1.0
    MicroEdition-Profile: MIDP-2.0
    MIDlet-Description: Hello Worldand I don't use the jad file when installing the application (seems to be unecessary when you have a manifest file inside the jar). And I'm unable to debug it because when debugging then it works normally. Also I tried to recompile the BluetoothDemo and the same error(and works through OnDeviceDebug). And when I installed the jar file, which is originally distributed with BluetoothDemo then it worked. When I compared original jar file and my jar file then the only difference was in the size the class files (class files compiled by me were bigger then the class files in original jar file (which work)).
    Any ideas guys and girls?

    I tried that approach but it doesn't work either. I think maybe my directory structure is wrong.

  • Error while compiling JMS example - package javax.jms does not exist

    Dear All,
    I am a newbie trying to use JMS. I have downloaded EE 5 SDK and installed (it contains Message Queue 4.1 as well). After the installation and going to some tutorials, I tried to compile the example 'SimpleQueueSender.java' which was downloaded from Sun website.
    Before running the application, I made sure that I have set the classpath, path environment veriables correctly, but still I got the error "package javax.jms does not exist". I have searched internet for help and in all places I found people replying to similar issues. But I was not able to apply the solution as either the folder names or file names specified in the solution is different from what is existing in my system.
    Please help me. Also could anyone help me in telling the pre-requisites to ensure a proper running of java application.
    Thanks in Advance
    Regards,
    San

    I'm not sure exactly what your JavaEE SDK installation contains (there are so many versions) but it will typically contain a Glassfish installation. Under the Glassfish installation, the imq directory contains all the files needed for MessageQueue.
    The javax.jms package contains the JMS API interfaces. These can be found in jms.jar, which is typically in imq/lib. At runtime you will also need imq.jar from the same directory, which contains the implementation of these interfaces for MessageQueue.
    Note that you will need to start a Message Queue server as well. EIther start a Glassfish server (which includes an embedded Message Queue broker), or (simpler) start a standalone Message Queue broker by running imqbrokerd (from the imq/bin directory).

  • Delphi doesn't compile the examples for DIO32HS

    Delphi doesn't compile the examples for DIO32HS
    Some libraries appear to be required,
    but there are none supplied
    According to the manual, one ActiveX should be sufficient.
    What version is the source provided ?

    The NI CD is Version 6.9.2
    There are examples : \National Instruments\NI-DAQ\Examples\Delphi
    There is no mention which Version of Delphi,
    I have 3,5 and 6. However there should be components
    to be installed into Delphi as DigitalWaveformContinous
    requires TCWNumEdit, TCWDI and so on.
    It also requires the units CWUIControlsLib_TLB,
    CWAnalysisControlsLib_TLB, CWDAQControlsLib_TLB which are not part of Delphi istself but have to be provided
    by NI.
    Today I'm going to try Borland C++Builder, of which
    I have version 4 and 5. This will also require some
    components to be installed in BCB, I couldn't find them
    yet.
    \National Instruments\NI-DAQ\Examples\BorlandC
    BTW: this ActiveX that was talked about couldn't be
    found on the drive either. no *.ocx
    It cannot be that hard. I just want a procedure
    to setup the PCI-DIO-32HS, in terms of what is input
    and output, how the handshaking is done and then
    read/write to the port.

  • Install a JAR

    Does anyone know how to install a JAR file? I downloaded the JCE, and the readme says "install the JAR files", but since I can´t even run a JAR (Failed to load main class... every time), I can´t install the file...

    Ok, the exact download link is https://cds.sun.com/is-bin/INTERSHOP.enfinity/WFS/CDS-CDS_Developer-Site/en_US/-/USD/ViewProductDetail-Start?ProductRef=jce_policy-6-oth-JPR@CDS-CDS_Developer, I assumed that by writing only the site, instead of the full address, there wouldn´t be any confusion.
    I typed java.sun.com, then clicked on the download tab, there I clicked on Java SE, scrolled down to Other downloads, and clicked on the download button, which sent me to the link I pasted above. Hope this is specific enough to avoid rising yet another question about the source of the JCE download.
    Now, the readme says:
    Installation
    Notes:
    o Unix (Solaris/Linux) and Win32 use different pathname separators, so
    please use the appropriate one ("\", "/") for your
    environment.
    o <java-home> refers to the directory where the Java SE Runtime
    Environment (JRE) was installed. It is determined based on whether
    you are running JCE on a JRE with or without the JDK installed. The
    JDK contains the JRE, but at a different level in the file
    hierarchy. For example, if the JDK is installed in
    /home/user1/jdk1.6.0 on Unix or in C:\jdk1.6.0 on Win32, then
    <java-home> is
    /home/user1/jdk1.6.0/jre [Unix]
    C:\jdk1.6.0\jre [Win32]
    If on the other hand the JRE is installed in /home/user1/jre1.6.0
    on Unix or in C:\jre1.6.0 on Win32, and the JDK is not
    installed, then <java-home> is
    /home/user1/jre1.6.0 [Unix]
    C:\jre1.6.0 [Win32]
    o On Win32, for each JDK installation, there may be an additional
    JRE installed under the "Program Files" directory. Please make
    sure that you install the unlimited strength policy JAR files
    for all JREs that you plan to use.
    Here are the installation instruction:
    1) Download the unlimited strength JCE policy files.
    2) Uncompress and extract the downloaded file.
    This will create a subdirectory called jce.
    This directory contains the following files:
    README.txt This file
    COPYRIGHT.html Copyright information
    local_policy.jar Unlimited strength local policy file
    US_export_policy.jar Unlimited strength US export policy file
    3) Install the unlimited strength policy JAR files.
    To utilize the encryption/decryption functionalities of
    the JCE framework without any limitation, first make a copy of
    the original JCE policy files (US_export_policy.jar and
    local_policy.jar in the standard place for JCE
    jurisdiction policy JAR files) in case you later decide
    to revert to these "strong" versions. Then replace the strong
    policy files with the unlimited strength versions extracted in the
    previous step.
    The standard place for JCE jurisdiction policy JAR files is:
    <java-home>/lib/security [Unix]
    <java-home>\lib\security [Win32]
    So, in point "3" almost at the end of the readme, it does say "install the jar files".
    The part that I "have trouble understanding", is, as the question which I started this topic with described, how to install a JAR: do I simply overwrite it, create a new directory, or is there a command (which I presume was posted in a previous answer) to accomplish this task.

  • Trace example in examples.jar

    Hello:
    The Trace example in examples.jar that comes with JDK 1.4 is very
    useful, but very slow.
    I was thinking how could the source code be modified so that I could
    use the same by connecting to a running JVM so that it doesn't log at
    startup. The application is too big and hence the process is very
    slow. Excluding or including packages I guess doesn't make a
    performance difference.
    Or, if there is any other way to make it faster let me know?
    Thank you.

    To attach jdb we use like-
    java -Xdebug -Xrunjdwp:transport=dt_shmem,address=5000,server=y,suspend=n

  • How install my jar+native package for JRE plugin

    I cannot figure out how to deploy a plugin consisting of a Java package that calls native code. The calling order is:
    Applet -> installed classes in lib/ext/my.jar -> DLL in C:\\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32
    I have gotten my plugin to work on Windows IE using the Microsoft JVM, and on Netscape using LiveConnect, and on Mac using MRJ. It also works with stand-alone Java applications. But I cannot get it to work with Applets when I am using the SUN JRE plugin for Java!
    I can call the classes in the JAR file but they can't loadLibrary( the DLL ).
    I put my JAR file in "C:\Program Files\JavaSoft\JRE\1.3.1_04\lib\ext".
    I put my DLL in "C:\WINDOWS\system32" which is in the "java.library.path".
    I was hoping that by installing the JAR file in the lib/ext folder that it would elevate its privelege and allow it to call loadLibrary().
    I don't want to have to sign each Applet. My plugin is installed using a digital certificate. Once installed it should give regular Applets the ability to call my native code.
    I am hoping to simply use a signed Java installer for the plugin that will copy my JAR file and DLL to the right places.
    If you use IE or Netscape without the SUN plugin, you can try my plugins here:
    http://www.softsynth.com/jsyn/plugins/
    http://www.javasonics.com/plugins/
    I'm tired of telling people to disable the SUN JRE plugin and enable the Microsoft JVM in order to use my plugins.....
    Any ideas?
    Thanks,
    Phil Burk

    I found a solution to my own problem. The problem was that classes in a JAR file installed in the "java.ext.dirs" path could not call System.loadLibrary() when called from an Applet.
    The solution was to explictly make use of the priveledged status of the extension classes as follows:
    Boolean result = (Boolean)
    AccessController.doPrivileged(new PrivilegedAction()
    public Object run()
    System.loadLibrary("mylib");
    return null;

  • I can' t compile Stratus example from Adobe sample...

    Hey guys !
    First, please sorry for my bad english, I'm french and it's a pain to explain this kind of problem in foreign language...
    I 'm trying to compile the example code found in Stratus sample (the audio/video chat), but I think some package are missed because Flex found a lot of error. Flex tell me that I'm trying to use some class or properties that doesn't exist...
    Here the list of the missing elements :
    - NetStreamInfo
    - Microphone.codec
    - NetStream.DIRECT_CONNECTIONS
    - Microphone.encodeQuality
    - NetStream.farId
    - Microphone.framesPerPacket
    - NetStream.info
    - NetConnection.nearId
    - NetStream.peerStream
    - SoundCodec
    I 'm using Flex Builder 3.02 (downloaded from the link at the bottom of the stratus' presentation page).I have my Stratus Key, but the problem is not here because I'm unable to launch the compilation...
    Where can I find the class / package I need ?
    In other terms, how can I compile the stratus example with no error.
    Thanks a lot !

    you probably forgot to set the minimum Flash Player version to 10.0.0 in the Flex build settings.  open the Properties for your Flex project, go to the "Flex Compiler" property, and in the "HTML wrapper" section's "Require Flash Player version" enter 10.0.0 in the boxes.  that will enable the compiler to recognize Flash Player 10 APIs.

  • How to install examples?

    There are supposed to be some example databases that are used with some tutorial that are in the same download directory as the zip files for Oracle 11g.
    So I finally have sqldeveloper connecting to the new instance of the database.
    When I try to run the setup program for the example databases, I get the following error:
    [INS-32025] The chose installation conflicts with software already installed in the given oracle home.
    [INS-52001] Oracle Database Examles can only be installed into an existing home.
    Ok, I installed using all the defaults (except the character encoding, I chose UTF8).
    But no directory I specify works! I have tried
    C:\app\siegfried
    C:\app\siegfried\product\11.2.0\dbhome_1 (the home directory for the database).
    C:\app\examples
    I always get error INS-32025. What am I doing wrong?

  • How to Install Remote Jar File?

    Hi all
    I Would know how can I implement a application that download files and then i can run them.Specifically , I would like download a jar o jar file, and then install it.
    How can do it?
    I`ve thought in download by httpConection:
    HttpConnection c = (HttpConnection)Connector.open("http://localhost:80/cosa.txt");
    InputStream is = c.openInputStream();
    is.read()...
    ...Then I dont know what to do.I can save the stream in a file coding it in jar extension and then, try to run it in order to install it.
    But I dont know do any of those things.Could I do this?
    I have readed that it is easier to use of RMS, without save anything.But I ask myself how can i store the info so that i can install the jar o jad file.
    Any Idea?
    Thank you very much!

    Emunicio,
    Have a look at javax.microedition.midlet.MIDlet.platformRequest() method. Providing that you use URL pointing to a JAD file, and that your web server will send the right MIME types with JAD and JAR files, this call should trigger OTA installation.

  • How to compile and creat JAR with native function

    Hi there,
    I wrote some native function for J2ME. But it seems like using J2ME wireless Toolkits, we can not compile native function. Is it right?
    Is anyone knowing how to compile and make JAR with J2MEWTK or command line?
    Thanks,
    Merry Christmas!!

    [zack327],
    JNI like or native interfaces APIs is not supported in the CLDC/MID Profile 1.0 specification. If you have J2ME code that includes JNI code, the J2MEWTK tool will not compile successfully for you.
    To package the compiled code to a MIDlet suite .jar file, use the 'Package' command in the J2MEWTK toolkit. It is found on the top menu bar 'Project' option as item on the dropdown list.
    To package the MIDlets into a MIDlet suite .jar file from the command line, you can execute the usual jar file command:
    jar cf MyMIDletSuite.jar Midlet.class
    You will also need to create a MIDlet .jad Application Descriptor file as well.

    Hi esi_stents,
    The compiler is complaining here because it can't find the correct library file to link to. Therefore, each of the above errors are function calls that the compiler does not have a prototype for.
    The library file you want to make sure to link to is visa32.lib. The path for this library file differs slightly based on what compiler you are using:
    Borland: C:\VXIPNP\WinNT\lib\bc
    Microsoft: C:\VXIPNP\WinNT\lib\msc
    Then follow the instructions for your compiler on how to set up links to a library.
    Now the compiler should stop complaining at you and you're good to go! Have fun!

  • Is it possible to compile/convert class/jars to DLL?

    Hi all,
    Is it possible to compile/convert class/jars to DLL so that my VB program can use it? If yes, how do i do it?
    thanks for your time.

    No it is not (afaik). But as far as the VB stuff goes, somebody who posted here earlier mentioned passing data to VB functions. Can't remember which post it was.
    One thing you can do is use sockets to send data between your Java code and VB application using sockets. Sockets are easy to use in Java, and in VB you just need to use the stuff in ws2_32.dll. You can find VB modules for sockets all over the place.

  • Compiling with external JARs using Eclipse

    I've spent 3 days on this and I still don't seem to be any nearer solving the problem. I am using a couple of external JAR files within my project and everything is working fine within the IDE, it's when I come to compile my own JAR that I'm having problems. I've tried created my JAR by choosing file->export, but it doesn't seem to pull in the external JARs. My class paths must be correct as I can run it within the IDE, but I'm missing something.
    Next I discovered ANT and had a play with that. After some toil I got it to generate a JAR, but it has two problems. 1. The manifest file cannot be found, but let's forget about that for now, as I haven't really looked into it. 2. The generated JAR is only 250Kb, when (if the external JARs are packaged with it) it should be closer to 5Mb. Again I've set my class paths in the External Tools dialog, but still nothing.
    Could someone please try and point me in the right direction. I've even spent a couple of hours at Borders reading up on ANT and Eclipse, that where my ANT script came from, but it hasn't got me the result I need. If it's any help my build.xml is below
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding = "UTF-8"?>
    <project name="C_G" default="Main Build" basedir=".">
        <property name="bin" location="bin"/>
        <property name="src" location="."/>
        <property name="jardir" location="${bin}/lib"/>
        <property name="jarfile" location="${jardir}/c_g.jar"/>
        <property name="build.compiler"
        value="org.eclipse.jdt.core.JDTCompilerAdapter"/>
        <target name="Main Build" depends="Initialize, Compile, Jar">

        </target>
        <target name="Initialize">

            <delete dir="${jardir}"/>
            <mkdir dir="${bin}"/>
            <mkdir dir="${jardir}"/>

        <target name="Jar" depends="Initialize, Compile">
            <jar destfile="${jarfile}" basedir="${bin}"/>
        </target>
    </project>

    Damn it, so I do have to tackle the 'manifest not
    found problem' first then. I would have though
    Eclipse would have made a better job at making the
    manifest file.All I can say: RTFM. This is not an Eclipse support forum. Maybe it does, and you use some incorrect settings.
    I just placed it into the root of the JAR, but when I
    run it can't find itIt doesn't belong there. It goes into a directory named META-INF
