Complex attributes mapping with webservice

I have an entity service which contains a complex attribute.
I have imported a webservice and have made the mappings between the attributes of operation from webservice to entity service attributes in its operation.
When i test my entity service, though i am able to retrive the data for simple attributes from the web service, i am unable to get values for COMPLEX attribute.
Structure of the complex attribute is in sync with the complex structure in webservice.
Note : NWDS Version: 7.0.09 and
J2EE server version : 7.00 SP10
can version difference be the problem ?
Any pointers to this problem will be appreciated.

Actually the service browser doesnt show any error message.
It fetches all other information except for the complex attributes.
Note : In wsnavigator, i find only the "Key" and "Parent key" attributes for the complex type of the webservice, but other attributes within the complex type are not displayed.

Attribute mapping not working with complex searches

Hi all,
We are using "attribute mapping" for some attributes and that works fine as far as we don't make a complex search. We are doing the attribute mapping at the Directory proxy 6.3 so we map businessSector to businessUnit. Everything work fine if we just put businessSector in the search, but if we add something else to the search filter, it will not work.
So, if we use filter businessSector=XXXXXXX, it will work and make all the mapping, but if we use something like "(&(pocketSizeOffice=Yes)(businessSector=XXXXXXX))", it will not work.
We have look at the logs and we see the mapping happening in the first case, but not in the second one.
Have somebody seem this before or is facing this problem?

Hi Federico,
I was not able to reproduce the problem with DPS 6.3 in my labs... so the conditions to reproduce it may be more tricky than described. Anyway, this is not a known problem.

It worked nicely. But, I just found out the coding that was downloaded from the website of Apress and I just executed was different from the coding of Listing 4-8 listed in the book: all the <xs: ....> and </xs: ..> in my SSMS2012 are
listed as <xsd:...> and </xsd:...> respectively in the book!!?? The same thing happens in the Listing 4-3 Simple XML Schema, Listing 4-5 XML Schema and Valid XML Document with Comple Type Definition, Listion 4-6 XML Schema and XML
Document Document with Complex Type Using <sequence> and <choice>, and Listing 4-7 Complex XML Schema and XML Document with Model Group Definition (I executed last week) too. I wonder: should xs or xsd be used in the XML
Schema Collection of SSMS2012? Please kindly help, clarify this matter and explain the diffirence of using xs and xsd for me.

Using xs or xsd depends on how you declare the namespace prefix.

Error with Complex Attribute in NWDS in Core CAF

I created complaint as the entity . and implemented ComplaintAppService as application services . and complaintHistory as complex attribute
following were the instance created

ComplaintHistory hist = new ComplaintHistory();
when i write

It gives error in the method comp.setComplaintHiistory(histList)
error is " The method setComplaintHistory(List) from the type Complaint is not visible"
can you please tell how to resolve the error

I need your expert opinion on how to create a map with multiple conditions.
I have a procedure (which i cannot import or re-create in OWB due to the bug), so i am trying to create a map instead :-(
How can i create a cursors within the map?
My function creates table and cursor.
Then it will have to check for duplicates in the tables (the one created and another table) - the criteria for finding duplicates is a number of fields.I then need to place few different conditions (if some attributes are not available) and it has to load cursor based on this conditions. The next step is to fetch the data into the cursor based on what attributes are missing.
The next thing it will do is insert the data into table (if record doesn't exist), output the error in separate table is record is corrupted, or update the record with changed information.
In short i need to re-create match / merge but with conditions, iterations etc 'built into' it.
I can read up on available functions - it's just what would be the best options? and what would be the best approach to do so?
In my function i use %rowtype - but cannot use it in owb - so what would be the alternative? i don't really want to create a lot of variables and then have a nightmare of maintaing it. are there any tips regarding this?
having looked through Oracle dedupe - it's not really what i need because it is just DISTINCT.
I would appreciate any help / advise on this.

it is a bit more complicated now as i have to re-create the match / merge and then somehow 'tweak' it to achieve the result i need.
At the moment i am looking to breakdown the package into smaller chunks 'functions' and try creating the map that way.

AP_EXPENSE_REPORT_HEADERS_ALL attribute mapping to AP_INVOICES_ALL

Hi,
We need to have some values in AP_INVOICES_ALL in some DFF ( For example Attribute10 ) for invoices we import via expense express. When we update attribute10 of ap_expense_report_headers_all after import i dont see it in the ap_invoices_all table.
What is the mapping of the ap_invoices_all attributes to the ap_expense_report_headers_all attributes.

Hi,
The Attribute Mapping must be exactly matching between AP & Iexp.
For example, if you are having a DFF in iExpense called DFF1 (Attribute12-Expense Headers), then you need to create a Attribute in AP Invoice Headers with the same Attribute Number 12.
If you are creating in Expenses Report Lines, the create in AP Invoice Lines category. Pls remember that Attribute No. must be same. If it is done, then data will move exactly from iExpense to AP when Expense Report Export program is run.
The DFF Names need not be same.

XSU attribute mapping error

I've encountered an attribute mapping problem when using the Java OracleXMLQuery class in XSU (Oracle XML Developer's Kit for PL/SQL on Windows NT - 9i 9.2.0.1.0). As an example, take a look at the following object type containing one field whose name is prefaced with "@". This should cause XSU to map the field as an attribute rather than an element:

Hi am a newbie......in XML-Java related issue.
Am trying to map an XML with Java objects.
Take this XML for example:

The answer to this depends on whether you're using the table crawler or the database crawler, and what the datatypes are for job_name and vacancy_name.
If we assume they're VARCHAR2 it's quite straightforward...
If using the TABLE crawler, then recreate your join so that instead of two columns job_name and vacancy_name, you concatenate the two together in the join into a column called (for example) CONTENT, and use that as the text column to index.
If using the DATABASE crawler, then simply concat these columns as part of your SELECT into the column named CONTENT.

How to create a Mapping with Input Parameter?

Use a map input operator in your mapping. In the outgroup add an attribute, mapp the attribute with the column and then you can start the mapping with an extra input parameter.

UME attribute mapping for lastpasswordchange to AD

We are on EP 7.0 and are using Microsoft Active Directory 2003 as our user repository.
I am using a writeable datasource configuration file to update passwords in AD from portal (SSL configured)
For users who had password reset done through the portal, portal has the information for "Date of Last Password Change".
However, for users who do password resets with other mechanisms (outside of SAP portal), portal does not have this information.
I am trying to map the UME logical attribute "lastpasswordchange" to the corresponding physical attribute on Active Directory - which I believe is "pwdLastSet".
My XML configuration looks like the following

You may google "pwdLastSet convert" a try to find out some scripts to convert pwdLastSet to another timestamp.
As I got from some Google's [links|http://anothersysadmin.wordpress.com/2010/10/22/convert-pwdlastset-to-a-human-readable-date/] pwdLastSet it counts time in nanoseconds.
Consult you MS Active Diractory team for help to create the converting script of create another attribute in AD with the format that match the portal's timestamp. Then you'll map the new AD attribute to the "lastpasswordchange" attribute of the portal.

We declare something as EntityBean because it perform some action like a Entity
For Example,A Man Contain some attribute, or A File with some attribute,
usually we have store this in the database ,so EntityBean Usually map with data table.
but you can also store the data in the file format as you like,you can control it in the BMP model
in my opinion ,Entitybean is the object base on the attribute , the Sessionbean is the object base on the action with the user.So we can distinguish them��:-)

However the expected behavior is not achieving. Still the PTE prices if off the OM/ASO's Quantity field, and not based on the number that goes into the attribute field.

When I create the Sales Order in OM, at the line level after entering the item, I entered a number in attribute10, then
also a value in the standard quantity field, and Save. The item had price
breaks defined in the pricelist. But the price returned was based on the value
in the standard Quantity field, not the value in attribute10. Even when I
reprice the line (Actions-->Price Line), there is no change.
Expected behavior is to get the Price off the Attribute that mapped to the 'ITEM_QUANTITY' field (which is a standard/seeded attribute).
Does anyone made such expected behavior to work (without being used with a Customer Price API)?

Im already using the Value Mapping with Master data Replication on several graphical mappings. Unfortunately, some changes happened for one mapping program, the complexity increased and the graphical mapping doesnt fulfill these new requirements. So, I thought to use ABAP mapping, because is a language that I know well.
I understood your concern; we are talking about two levels, ABAP and Java stack. It will be needed a call from ABAP stack to Java Stack, but maybe there is an API for that? But, about system performance, I guess Value Mapping its better then RFC lookup, right?
My mapping problem is: I need to generate two nodes (not a field) every time the code MODI (modification) comes in a source field. Inside these two nodes, I have to fill a field, into first node, with an old id and for the second node with the new id.
I cant found any standard function to fulfill this requirement. Maybe this is easy with UDF, but Im not filling comfortable with Java and I dont know how to do it. If you know, please let me know.

EclipseLink Direct Map with Joining mapping issue

Hi EclipseLink Team,
We encountered an issue to map an attribute as Direct Map with Join Fetch enabled in EclipseLink Workbench 1.1.1 (Build v20090430-r4097).
Basically, we have the following data model:
SESSION
SESS_NO (PK),
PARAM_SESS
SESS_NO (FK) (PK),
PARAM_NAME (PK),
PARAM_VALUE
Then we have Session.java persistent entity associated with SESSION table. This class contains Map attribute sessionParameters which we map as Direct Map with PARAM_SESS.PARAM_NAME as key and PARAM_SESS.PARAM_VALUE as value (referenced by PARAM_SESS.SESS_NO = SESSION.SESS_NO).
The described mapping works fine without Joining enabled (both for Lazy and Eager Loading).
But we have cases when we want to get parameters for a number of sessions. And disabling of Joining leads to a number of performed SELECT SQL queries (both for Lazy and Eager Loading) those are bad for performance.
So we have chosen the Eager Loading and set the Join Fetch option to Outer. Then we have got the following:
I see in the log the only SQL query performed: SELECT DISTINCT t0.SESS_NO, …, t1.PARAM_VALUE, t1.PARAM_NAME FROM {oj SESSION t0 LEFT OUTER JOIN PARAM_SESS t1 ON (t1.SESS_NO = t0.SESS_NO)}. This is pretty good for us. This query returns exactly what we expect when executing on the database. But the Map attribute for every session is populated incorrectly: Maps are empty (not corresponding to available relational data).
Could you please let us know if this is a bug, or kind of known issue or we made something wrong? Some hints and proposals would be very helpful and appreciated.
I should mention that for now we want to map all of this for read only purpose.

I've tried both 1.2 release and 2.0 (v20091121-r5847) but received the same result - empty Map.
Moreover, for both versions the following string was absent in deployed XML file:
+<direct-key-field table="PARAM_SESS" name="PARAM_NAME" xsi:type="column"/>+
Therefore, on application initialization I have got an exception: org.eclipse.persistence.exceptions.DescriptorException with message This descriptor contains a mapping with a DirectMapMapping and no key field set.
So I was forced to add the line manually.
This seems buggy to me...

Binding Map with TableView

I have a Map<String,String> which i want to display in a TableView with 2 colums(Key column and Value column). I am able to display the data by creating an ObservableList of objects having the key and value attributes but i want to bind the Map with the TableView. I have not come across anything related to this yet. Please help,
