Concatenating date and time and then performing time calucations on this

Hi,
I have complex date/time calculation to perform in QD. Scenario is as follows:
Objective: I want to calculate the difference in hours:mm:ss between the start order time and the end order time
1. I have two fields one date & one time for each startorder time and an endorder time.
2. I want to combine these together to get a date & time field for both startorder and endorder
3. I want to calculate the difference between these 2 fields (datetime-start order & datetime- end order) to find the difference in hours:mm:ss
Question is this possible in QD if so how?
Or if it not possible in QD then is it possible in the transformation, if so how?

Hi Amir,
In the QD it only possible to get the date difference using replacement path and time difference cannot be calculated.
You can achieve this by writing a routine at transformations level. You need to call a function module to time difference.
/SDF/CMO_DATETIME_DIFFERENCE
SD_DATETIME_DIFFERENCE.

Regarding Point 3 - You can create multiple simulations of a project, make changes to the simulations and then transfer back the desired simulation to the operative project. Use transaction CJV4 to transfer operative to simulation and vice versa. You can edit simulations in Project Builder or CJV2.
4. Off line working is still not possible in PS. But you can transfer the data to MS Project. Make changes in MS Project and transfer it back. Refer to help documentation on OpenPS
5. You can attach documents to WBS elements or activities. This requires corresponding settings in DMS. Or you can use PS Texts.

=IF(I127,NOW()," ")
I127 equals a check box. The formula retuns a value of the current date and time when a check is placed in the box. How does one lock that date and time so that it cannot be changed?

I don't think it is possible to lock in the date and time using a formula. You could put NOW() in a cell, copy, and Edit Paste Formula Results where you want the result.
Or if you are "time stamping" a lot, you may find this Automator Service (Dropbox download) helpful. It puts a "Today" function (actually it should be named "Now" because it includes both date and time) in your Services menu like this:
Just doubleclick the .workflow package to install it. You may have to click "download anyway" in System Preferences > Privacy & Security.
If you want you can assign the service a keyboard shortcut in System Preferences here:

My ibook keeps shutting down completely with the date to reverting back to 1969. i restart only after i plug in charger it lets me, then change date and save. the next time i use same thing happens, safari, iphoto, email are the only ones i have used.

The iBook does not have a backup (PRAM) battery. It only has the main battery and a small capacitor which maintains the settings long enough to do a battery swap. If the battery is dead, what you are seeing can happen.
If the battery is not a problem (or even if it is), you could try resetting the PMU and see if that helps.

My Mac is 15 months old and all of a sudden it has started resetting the time and date then I get a message saying not all apps will work because of the pre Jan date any help as to why ? Causing problems with wireless router.

Seems the time isn't being saved to your computer correctly, it may be a corrupt file that isn't saving the time anymore.
You can move the
com.apple.systempreferences.plist
file out of your Users/Library/Preferences folder to the desktop and reboot.
then go to your System Preferences > Date and Time and set a time server close to your location (or in your time zone)
(trash the file on the desktop if no ill issues occur later on)
or you can follow/bookmark these support docs to reset your PRAM and SMC (and for future reference)

I don't remember exactly where OS X is keeping it time settings now, but I think one of those choices should help resolve your issue and won't hurt anything giving them a shot. Perhaps someone else could refresh my memory.

Hi i ran into the same problem Ithoght it was the control, i changed the batteries the the control, and stil did not work, in the same connection (network and everything) i installed a new one and it worked perfectly, i can deduct the unit is nit working properly

izzyjay.... I am having the exact same experience you are with Itunes.... everything worked fine in Itunes version 10.5 but has gone south with something they have done to quicktime.... it has further messed up the connection to AppleTV as well.... another upgrade that seems to break everything..... just to test out my theory I opened quicktime separately and navigated to my movies directory and tried to play a movie directly .... it won't play.... or even appear as a playable file..... I think they have screwed around with this separation of quicktime and Itunes and basically broken everything.
Try to reinstall version 10.5 Itunes and 7.7.1 of quicktime, which seem to work correctly

Time and date reseting - Faulty charger? Please help!

I have a macbook pro (summer 2011 model). My charger broke so I bought a cheaper, non branded replacement online as my husband has a macbook and has the same replacement charger for around one year and never had any problems. While waiting for my replacement to arrive, when charging my macbook with my husbands charger, it completely cut out, totally dead! When I turned it back on the date had reset to 2000 and I got an error message that reads something like, "The date and time have been resest to a date before 2001. Some applications may not perform correctly....." - something along those lines!
Today my new, non-branded charger arrived and the same thing has happened 4 times. If it wasn't for the fact that this has only ever happened when being charged with one of these AND 4 times today with the new one, I would have thought the two not connected. But now I am convinced.
I must add that for a period of a week befor my charger arrived I borrowed a friends Apple charger as my husband needed to take his to work.
So my macbook never had this problem before, then it occured when using my husbands charger, then was fine for a week with an apple charger and has now happened again with the new one!
Has anyone else had this problem? Is it the charger that is the problem or something in my macbook that is somehow being triggered by the charger?? Any info would be greatly appreciated!
I know that I should have just bought a proper Apple charger to start with but c'est la vie!

With my friends apple charger eveything was totally normal. Her family all have macs from different years so i'm not sure which charger she will have leant me (i'm guessing it would probably be quite a modern one though as they always have up-to-date kit!).
My husband has an old macbook, from roughly 2006/2007, the charger he is using now I bought from amazon quite a while ago. As I mentioned, he has had no problems with it but I did. Before I had these problems I re-ordered the same charger for me as it had been pretty good.
So my macbook pro was fine with a proper apple charger, then it broke and i ordered a new non-apple charger, in the meantime borrowed my husbands non-apple charger a couple of times and my computer kept cutting out. Then borrowed a friends proper apple charge and had no problems at all for a whole week. Then today my new non-apple charger shows up and so far my macbook pro has cut out 3/4 times when plugged in. Totally fine when unplugged.

Time and Date Stamp Format and User name

I am very new to adobe acrobat so forgive my ignorance. I am trying to add a date and time stamp to pdf files using adobe acrobat so that when they are printed using adobe acrobat the print date will be automatically added. First I have found the below script on the forum which is entered as a field, will this work using acrobat version 5 or version 7? Also i believe that the date format is 10/01/2009. How can I change this so that it will be in the 01 October 2009 and 24 hour clock format? Finally how do I also add some descriptive text before the date and time i.e. 'print date' and 'not valid 24 hours after printing'?

As noted, you need to change the formatting string to generate the date appearance as you need. You can add additional text to this string using the concatenation string operator, '+'. So you can do:

I cant ever set the time and date of my nokia E71. Anytime i access the time and date settings, it just doesn't go through. Please help me out.

In order to fix this issue, I advise you to perform a soft reset on your phone: type *#7780#. Default lock code is 12345. If the issue persists, perform a hard reset. First of all, back up your data using Nokia Suite (Tools > Back up). Once your data is fully backed up, type *#7370# on the keypad.
Alternatively, you may also check for updates on Nokia Suite (by going to Tools > Updates).
Then try to set the time and date again.

I want to assign both time and performance warranty to equipment for that i created master warranty and assigned counter to that.
my warranty is working fine when i assigned time and performane warranty seperately ie. start and end warranty for time or only start date with master warranty .
But i want to assign both at same time ie start and end time with master warrant for performance but its not allowing.
so can anyone tell me how to assign both.

There are time-dependent and performance-dependent warranty counters:
If the indicator for time-dependence is set in Customizing, then the warranty counter is time-dependent. In this case, you must create a characteristic of the same name, which has a unit of the u201Ctimeu201D dimension, in the class system.
The system can use this to determine from the warranty start date and the value that was stored in the master warranty for this counter, whether the counter check is still valid for the key date.
If the indicator for time-dependence is not set in Customizing, then the warranty counter is performance-dependent.

TS3274 ipad is locked but it keeps repeating time and date?

My ipad air is locked but the voice says the time and date and camera infor. when touched?

Thanks King_P, but I tried all that last night but no avail.
Each time I press the 'Restore ipad' button, it comes up with the message to say my ipad software is up to date and itunes will check for an update the next day.
Then it comes up with the message, itunes could not connect to the ipad 'ipad' because it is locked with a passcode. You must enter your passcode on the ipad before it can be used with itunes. (This is like a catch 22 situation whereby I cannot perform this action until I restore, but it will not allow me to restore....arrrrrrgh)
Also, After pressing the Restore button, it comes up with the message 'The ipad software update server could not be contacted. Make sure your network connection is active.' But there is nothing wrong with my connection.
Also it comes up with another error message, 'itunes could not connect to this iphone (even though it is an ipad). An unknown error occured (OxE8000084).
Other messages are 'We could not complete your itunes stores request, An unknown errror occured (Ox80092013)....................arrrrgh

I have a loop made to read temperature 30 times and averages it down to one value which is then displayed on the screen.

My problem is that this loop is not permitting me to abort instantly because I have to wait until the for loop is done. I am using event structure which is allowing me to interrupt at any time and jump to something else in the software but nothing stops the for loop and I really need to calculate temperature by taking at least 20-30 points. I have been moving this part of the software all over the software and if I solve one problem wherever I put this vi it slows down that part of the software where I put it. I need to read te temp. all the time whle software is running.
Do you have any ideas how to speed up this VI so that it doesn't take t

Hello,
Here is a simple VI (saved in LabVIEW 7.0) that uses a control reference to pass a front panel control's value into a subVI. You can run the VI, then press the "Start SubVI" button, which will cause the subVI to start running. It waits until you press the "Abort SubVI" button, at which point the "Value" property of the boolean inside the subVI is read, and terminates the loop. I am then resetting the boolean value after the subVI returns a value (this is because you cannot use the Value property on latch booleans). This should be enough to get you started.
Keep in mind that you cannot perform this operation inside an event case of an event structure, since the UI is locked while the event structure is processing the event...t
hus, you wouldn't even be able to press the abort button. In your case, you should probably have a loop handling the UI events, and a separate loop handing the data acquisition.

Bi Dashboards issue works properly some times and after not display pointers data and give un expected error and throw login window

I have toff situation where we deployed bi dashboards in our site and it works some time and some times not,
and some times it keep loading and throw a login window.
works when
we restart performance point service and if not work
we re create secure store service and generated new key and create new pps service application
before that we stopped secure store and pps service using c.a in application server
we are using ssas for datasource to connect from dashboard designer
we have seperate server for ssas dbs
seperate application server running: pps service and secure store service
two web front ends: one of running secure store
1 Domain controller + central admin service running
some times after 4 -5 hours bi dashboards works , we dashboards not display data and throw un expected errors,
also when we try to connect using a dashboard designer from a seperate client machine in same domain ,we have same issue , we unable to connect to ssas datasource server, and if connect some times unable to deploy dashboards.
we tried every thin icreased server time out values in ssas server
