Concurrent report export using enterprise SDK question

Hello, 
Our company uses Enterprise SDK to export report to PDF. We test our software using CR Server 2008 trial version. I am looking for advices for following questions: 
1. As out testing server is trial version at the moment, it does not complain or generate any warning messages on numbers of concurrent users (we can only view current sessions and licenses from CMC). Could someone please let me know what will happen when full version CR server detects that max limit concurrent users access has reached? Will the server notify SDK, and SDK will generate exception; or the request will be queued until any other concurrent user end his session. 
2. We implement an EJB to invoke SDK process. While EJB itself is thread safe, I am not quite sure if enterprise SDK is thread safe too. My assumption is that one SDK will be instantiated per JVM (like JRC?). It will issue a new thread to each report request (from EJB). Please correct me if I am completely wrong. 
3. This is about licensing. Our scenario is there will be multiple (and concurrent) end users use our J2EE system, and may request report from CR server. Our J2EE system, however, will use one user account to login to CR server through enterprise SDK. In the other word, CR server will treat our J2EE system as one user (even if there are multiple or concurrent request). My question is that does it violate legal agreement with Business Object if I configure the user account our J2EE system uses as Named user?! If it is, we will get concurrent user licenses instead. Please advice. Thank you =)

As for point 1, what exact SDKException will SDK throw (e.g. SDKException.Unexpected)? 
In point 2, "There have been issues reported previously that only occur when using EJB's.". Is it possible to let me know what kind of issues they are? 
In point 3, as CMS supports Window AD authentication, and our system uses same mechanism to perform authentication, I guess the best strategy is to implement single sign on? Please advice. Thank you

i have set a repository and OMS on my machine...the Databae name is ORCL and repository is in the same local database where OMS is running...now when i tried to Export the schema of scott and scheduled a job the job fails and the error is as follows
VNI-2015 : The node prefered credentials for the target node are either invalid or do not have sufficient privileges to complete the operation
On windows platform, the node credintials specified for the windows target should have the "Logon as a batch job" privilege
kindly tell me what is the problem...i have set the credentials for my this node where database and OMS are running..may be i didnt set correct

your windows OS user should have the said priviliages. give the OS user Logon as a batch job permissions.

Failed to view report when using ActiveXViewer.cab of Crystal Reports XI

I failed to run Active Server Pages sample application that uses Crystal Reports XI Developer Edition on windows server 2003 machine ie 6.
What i am getting is a grey page with tiny x mark, meaning that activex failed to load (if i am not mistaking)
I have followed "Troubleshooting Report Designer Component Application Issues" document and succeded in
1. manually activeX installing (checked in ie and it a matching object appeared there).
2. succesfully ran the "test.wsf" (xsl was created)
but still in ie activex won't load.
Any help will be appreciated...

Try this code, the report source uses Enterprise but you should be able to replace that with local file:

Use the following query in the query builder

SI_NAME, SI_SCHEDULEINFO.SI_STARTTIME
FROM
CI_INFOOBJECTS
WHERE
SI_RECURRING = 1
SI_NAME: The recurring report name.
SI_SCHEDULEINFO.SI_STARTTIME: The date and time the report is scheduled to run next.
The query above will return all the recurring reports .

The following query will list all the last successful instances of a report.
SELECT * FROM CI_INFOOBJECTS

AND SI_INSTANCE_OBJECT = 1
AND SI_SCHEDULE_STATUS = 1
AND SI_PARENTID= 22842
ORDER BY SI_ENDTIME DESC.
The last Infoobject from the Infoobjects returned would give the latest instance id (SI_ID).

How to create cross tab reports using RAS SDK api with Crystal Reports XI

Hi Everybody,
Iam generating reports in a web-based application with Crystal Reports XI using Report Application Server(RAS) SDK API. The columns in my report exceed that of an A4 sized page. So, when I export that report to pdf, only those columns that fit to a page are showing up. To solve, this problem, I thought of using cross tab. But, I donot know how to generate cross tab report using RAS SDK API. I have tried to get some code from the internet. But, I did not find any java code for that.Can some one give me some sample code.It is very urgent.

Hi,
The easiest way I use is to create the worksheet as regular table and then when i verify the data I get (non aggregate) I duplicate it as a cross tab.
In the duplication wizard I just need to define the axis (using drag and drop).
if you want to create a cross tab from the beginning you need to define that in the new workbook wizard (check the "cross tab" rather then "table"), chose your fields and define the place you want them.
The data point (the center of the cross tab) is aggregated as to your machine definition and will happen automatically.
for example: to find the amount of receipt by months:
On the left put the "Buyer Name", on top put the "Months" and in the data point put the amount.
What you'll get is something like:
months: jan feb mar apr ......
buyer_name
jhon_smith 100 50 30 250 ......
jhon_doe 80 45 90 453 ........
and so on.....

SAP BO Report Scheduling and Save as report using Java SDK

Hi All,
We have a java product which is integrated with SAP BO using Java SDK and we have certain java screen through which we select report prompt values and webi report gets run.
Now we want to give a functionality to save report to BO repository.
When user select certain check box from java screen a separate copy of the webi report should get saved under default folder on BO repository.
Also, we want user to choose the scheduling option from java screen only (and not the one which we use from BI Launchpad) due to certain access restriction. User does not have access to BI Launchpad. Only he can run report by selecting values through Java screen.
If i need to create a separate screen for scheduling as well as saving webi report then also i am ok with it.
P.S. i guess we need to work on Java SDK level. But could somebody please help me with the right direction?

As you are on version BI 4.0 SP5 and would be migrating to BI 4.1, the best SDKs to use would be the Restful Webservices SDKs.
You have the options to schedule a webi report with prompts as well as the save feature which you require.

Creating a sample report using JAVA SDK

Hi,
I am trying to create a sample report using JAVA SDK.
I slelect 4 "free cells" and pass 4 different strings to it.
I even slelect the font colour and size. When i run the class and try to view the report in Infoview, I only seeblank blocks without any data. Now if I edit the report from infoview, and save the changes, I am able to see the data.
My issue is, Why am I not able to see the data when I run the java code.

Hello all!
I am using Denes Kubicek's Export_Excel_Pkg in my application and I'm having trouble exporting reports based on report regions created using a PL/SQL function body returning SQL query. I realize this is not an Oracle supported package, but was hoping someone here could shed some light on it. When I open up the Excel file, I get an error such as: Report Values Error: ORA-06550: line 22, column 5: PL/SQL: ORA-00907: missing right parenthesis.
I've searched the forum and already have done as others suggested by modifying the REPLACE on the v_sql variable in Export_Excel_Pkg.Get_Usable_SQL, but it did not work. My assumption is that there is an issue with the value being passed to the wwv_flow_utilities.get_binds function. I could not find documentation on this function, but I'm thinking that it cannot extract the bind variables within a PL/SQL block. The report only works when I have just use SQL with bind variables...doesn't work for PL/SQL. Nor does it work for dynamic SQL reports that use a "lexical" parameter (e.g. using WHERE &p_and_condition.) to build the WHERE clause.
Has anyone come up with a work-around to this? I somehow need to be able to extract reports based on dynamic SQL (or PL/SQL) to Excel.
