Configuration Manager 2007 - For multiple forest.

I have a primary server in a forest A. Now i've a client requirement that it should be able to manage clients on forest B.
The trust between these forest is 1 way trust. Could someone please guide me how to do this...

I have been doing that for 2 day now, reading the book, and technet. This is why I came here in hopes someone could give me a better idea than what I can find else where.
Maybe someone has some ideas on a certain log file on the server or a desktop to get some ideas?

Configuring optimizeit profiler for multiple kjs

Hi,
I am facing problems in configuring optimizeit profiler for multiple kjs. It
works fine if i have a single kjs in my app server and i am able to read the
profiler output. I am using iAS6.0sp2.
When i try to change the script that attaches the profiler with kjs for
multiple kjs all the kjs start on the same port i.e 10819. I want all the
kjs to start on different ports so that i can read the profiler output for
all of then at one go.
If any body has done this before with success then please help me at an
earlier date.

There is three things important While you working with custom member ship and FBA to work.
1. If you have developed Custom membership extending SQLServerMembership provider then make sure to check for Machine Key. as internally if usese combincation of this to encrypt password, so if you used first userid using some other method of creating user
then probably it does not use machine key in that configuration file.
2. if you doing brand new implementation from base classes you probably want to check your query & stored Procedure. make sure to run sql profiler to see what query is getting fired.
3. this one is most least and mostly not will be problem but do check Application Name,
Note: Key to get this working is Machine key, Application Name, your custom code revisit, sql profiler and you should be good,
Also do review FBA Code from CodePlex you can save significant time in developing from scratch.

Configuration Managment Pack for Non Oracle Systems (new)

Hi ,
There is a pack called "Configuration Management" for the database. This pack manage hardware , software , updates, patches, etc for host that have installed any Oracle Software.
Now, in EM Release 2 there is a new pack "Configuration Managment Pack for Non Oracle Systems" wich basically will allow me to the same but without the requirement to have any Oracle software installed.
The question is : Where can i find a white paper about it? i been looking around and there is only mentions of the product, but not extra info. I know is out already 3k p/processor..
Any ideas?

Configuration manager 2007 sp2 component manifest was not found or it was not valid.Configmgr 2007 manifest.cab

I finished installation of my SCCM 2007 Server on (AD/SQL2007R2/SCCM 2007R2 - combined) after so many attempts on separate servers. I am now facing the issue of configmgr component manifest to continue the configuration. I searched
google for possible resolution and finally found one to download the missing files. I did and replaced the old one (same as the original one in download folder). Yet I kept on getting the error.
The installation completed successfully, but cannot run the configuration manager console. This is the where I could not continue the set-up
I ran SCCM 2007 update which I downloaded and ran the setup, but it would not connect to the database. I had to remove it and back to square one.

Have you looked at this?

Is Oracle Configuration Manager Available for Hyperion Planning Servers?

The "My Oracle Support" site (https://support.oracle.com) describes the values of installing the Oracle Configuration Manager on servers.
Question: is this available for the Hyperion products or just Oracle databases? If available for Hyperion products, does it add value to tech support?
Any comments would be appreciated.

This is partially correct. If you user12136418 are looking for a way to monitor health automatically and get access to web ex session technical support from one console OCM is a great tool. The fact that it is not a thick client in nature nor a windows service makes it ideal for having agents monitor network traffic SNMP and still have all hyperion health monitored without having to run a tool like SCOM. I have been waiting for this tool for a year . Now if only Hyperion would work with IE8. But we all can not have egg in our beer.

Configuration Manager & Licenses for AIX, Linux

All,
I have read the SCCM 2012 licensing document (System Center
2012 Licensing Pricing and SKU Overview) but I'm still unable to understand the content. Does one pay, having a datacenter license, for every configuration manager client used on each device (based on cpu) and does this also count for the SCOM
client?Or having paid for the scom client means that the configuration manager client is covered as well.
Also, how does this model applies when installing a client on an AIX LPAR which is part of a Power 5 or Power 6 system. (with for example 64 cpu's). Does this simply mean the need to have 32 CAL's ?
Bit confused about the following statement in the document "SC 2012 Datacenter allows for any # of managed OSEs per license."

to get a valid legal answer, I would recommend to contact your licensing Partner.
But from my Point of view:
You are right, for the Server with 64 cpu's, you will Need 32 System Center 2012 R2 Datacenter/Standard Server Management Licenses. But then, all available Clients are usable (SCOM, SCCM, DPM)
The Statement simply means: When you have a datacenter license, which only has to cover the requirements of the cpu's, it doesn't matter, how many virtualized Systems (OSE) are running on this Server, on all of those OSE's you can use the System
Center Clients (or manage them without). Other than with Standard, where you got to check, if you have to license the cpu's or the OSE's.

Configuring Management VLAN for standalone Nexus 5k

Hi All,
The architecture in the attachment doesnt require redundancy and hence has a single N5k with N2k as FEX. The setup is working fine except for the management vlan and mgmt 0 interface being down.
As of now, mgmt0 interface has no link connected to it. The VLAN for nexus management is also down as mgmt0 cant be assigned to vlans.. Configuring management IP to Loopback interface also doesnt allow adding the same to management vlan.
Is mgmt0 an RJ45 compatible port with N5596? and is there a way I can have out of band management for Nexus 5596? Is there a way I can assign a management IP to the FEX?

Hello Balachandhar,
Mgmt interface on N5K exists to provide out of band management to the device.
Mgmt interface belongs to management vrf. You can reach the N5K on mgmt interface once you configure IP to mgmt interface and connect it to upstream switch port belonging to mgmt vlan.
The FEX cannot be seperately managed. You need to connect to the parent N5K device and manage it.

Programmatically change management cert for multiple (600+) subscriptions

Our service has 600+ subscriptions, and they all share the same management cert.
Due to security reason, we would like to change management cert on the subscriptions periodically, but I have not yet found a way to do so programmatically.
I have found the "Add Service Certificate" cmdlet but it only allows you to upload the "Service certificate per service",
and I need to be able to change "Management cert" for all 600+ subscriptions.
Could you please tell me if there is a programmatic way to do so?

How to configure request manager service for multiple website in one web application

I have set up sp 2013 as below:

sp site: site1, site2
I used 2 WFE, 1 APP, how can I use request manager service to control site1 to wfe1, site2 to wfe2?

That's not what i'd describe as load balancing.
A better description would be load-isolation. In your description then if the load on site1 was large (and growing) but site2 was quiet then site1 would struggle and eventually become unable to handle the number of users but site2 would still be ok. That's
fine from a QOS point of view but it's not the norm for load balancing. It would work in simple scenarios but the out of the box load balancing tools are much better suited than that sort of approach.

Manager Process for Multiple DB's

Hi Experts,
I am trying to understand goldengate for my setup in LAB.
Currently I have the below setup and need some clarification(s).
Source & Target - 2 node RAC(11.2.0.3); RHEL 6
GG Version : 12.1.2.0
On Source i have 3 databases and of them 2 targets are corresponded to same source but the third target is different
so do we need to have same manager , that will take care of othere process for EACH db or we need to have seperate MGR for each DB.
If i understood clearly having a dedicate mgr process for EACH DB will be much better making more sense. ( correct me if i am wrong) but now comes the question with single binary setup how can we maintain multiple manager process
If only 1 mgr is allowed how do we know which process is responsible for which database.
Appreciate your thoughts. ( sorry if i was wrong . . . just in learner mode)

Hi,
You can have a single manager configured with multiple extract/replicat processes which connects to its respective databases through sql net connection.
Manager doesnot need to connect to any of the databases except for doing the maintenance tasks at the os level to delete the trail files, managing the processes to start automatically when it is started, etc.

Best Practice for managing variables for multiple environments

I am very new to Java WebDynPro and have a question
concerning our deployments to Sandbox, Development, QA,
and Production environments.
What is the 'best practice' that people use so that if
you have information specific to each environment you
don't hard-code it in your Java WebDynPro code.
I could put the value in a properties file, but how do I
make that variant? Otherwise I'd still have to make a
change for each environment to the property file and
re-deploy. I know there are some configurations on the
Portal but am not sure if that will work in my instance.
For example, I have a URL that varies based on my
environment. I don't want to hard-code and re-compile
for each environment. I'd prefer to get that
information on the fly by knowing which environment I'm
running in and load the appropriate URL.
So far the only thing I've found that is close to
telling me where I'm running is by using a Parameter Map
but the 'key' in the map is the URL not the value and I
suspect there's a cleaner way to get something like that.
I used Eclipse's autosense in Netweaver to discover some
of the things available in my web context.
Here's the code I used to get that map:

In the forum is an example that gets the IP address of
the site you're serving from. It sounds like it is going
to be or has been deprecated (it worked on my system
right now) and I would really rather have something like

Now if you can gets the ip of your server or the name of your site you can do the next thing:

String remote_address = request.getRemoteAddr()
String remote_host = request.getRemoteHost()
Only you should export the servlet.jar in your project properties > Build Path > Libraries.

How to configure FTP Adapter for multiple endpoints?

Scenario: I have multiple ftp endpoints (5-15) and depending on some business logic, I have to send data to the right destination. With default ftp adapter configuration, I have to add a n adapter connection factory reachable via JNDI for each destination. But I want to read the different endpoints dynamically from e.g. a database and configure my ftp adapter at runtime. That's because the endpoints do change quite often.
Interconnect had such a feature: FTP Sender: The FTP adapter supports sending to multiple FTP endpoints. This feature provides flexibility for sending messages to different remote FTP servers.
Any ideas on that for SOA Suite?

Managing apps for multiple users in one iTunes library

Hi - my wife and I both have iPhones and separate iTunes ID's. We both share music in one iTunes library and sync to the same library. We also backup our phones to that same computer. We have some apps on both phones (for example, Pandora) and when we backup/restore our phones, iTunes apparently will put "my" version of apps on her phone and "her" version of apps on my phone. Afterwards, when I update apps, my phone will ask for BOTH my iTunes ID AND her iTunes ID. Similarly, her phone asks for both her ID and my ID. Presumably, this also uses two of my FIVE authorized devices, which is also a problem.
My question is how can we manage our apps separately on iTunes so that we can get rid of this annoying behavior? It is very common for families to share one common iTunes library, so I don't see why this would be unsupported.

Managing contacts for multiple email accounts

I am (as of yesterday) a convert from a Blackberry to the iPhone 4s (IOS 5.0.1) (32GB)
I have had iTune (10.5) on my computer for a long time, but strictl to manage an iPod for email accounts - no contacts or calendars involved. And I have never played with iCloud before.
When I purchased my iPhone at BestBuy, they copied my BB contacts to my iPhone local contacts.
FWIW, on my BB, I used BB Desktop Manager to synchronize selected Outlook contacts to my BB.
   Outlook, in turn, was used to talk to Exchange on my corporate network.
What I would like to do is a follows:
a)     Use Exchange, Gmail and Yahoo email all come to my iPhone. This is already being done.
b)     Using iTunes (or whatever) sychronize selected Outlook contacts to my iPhone
              I am assuming this is different than using the iPhone to synchronize Exchange contacts via Push. And I don't want to sync all 5K Exchange contacts with my iPhone, just the ~500 selected contacts in Outlook. All togethter there are about 1000 contacts in Outlook, 500 of which were marked with a sync category.
c)     Bonus points if I could take my Gmail and Yahoo contacts (all personal and mostly not in Outlook and certainly not in Exchange) and get them synched to my iPhone as well.
             I noted that there was an option to synch Yahoo with the phone and keep (at the risk of duplicates) local contacts. I did not see such an option for Gmail. What I did see was that there was an option to call Gmail an Exchange Account, and then synch contacts; but only if I really didn't have a Microsoft Exchange account defined, which I do.
How, if at all would iCloud fit into this picture

I recently saw news of an app to enable this, I think. The workflow was something like you open up the app, select a signature, then hit a button and it takes you to Mail and pre-pastes the signature into a new mail message. So I don't think it would work for replies.
I'm afraid I have no idea where I saw it discussed. Search the App Store?
