Configuring a5505 setup public server + DMZ

Please bear with me, as am I utter new to the a5505 and Cisco products in general.
Setup:
LAN (192.168.1.X, with .3 as gateway)
DMZ (192.168.2.X with .1 as gateway)
WAN (X.X.X.146 as primary public IP, .145 as gateway and .147-150 as additional public IPs)
I want to set it up so that X.146 is where all my outbound traffic appears to originate.
I want tcp HTTPS and SMTP to be allowed from the WAN (via the X.147 IP) to a specific server (192.168.1.11) on the LAN.
Also, HTTP traffic to X.148, X.149 and X.150 should go to DMZ and 192.168.2.8, 192.168.2.15 and 192.168.2.18 respectively, but I haven't added that to my config yet. Looking to get the HTTPS and SMTP ones working first, then I'll fix the others (one step at a time)
I've got contact with the outside world when I've configured it using the ASDMs "Public Server" interface, but it refuses to properly establish the connection, I get a "SYN timeout".
I'm sure it is a simple mistake I've made someplace, but some of this stuff is greek to me sofar, I must admit..

  • Can't get mobile device to auto configure the active sync server

    Hello
I am trying to get my costumer mobile devices to auto configure the active sync server name so they don't have to type it in. I believe I have everything in place Certificates are fine. I populated the external url on the active sync
    object in Exchange.
DNS is set up correct. I ran the Exchange Connectivity Analyzer and it runs perfectly. The only test step if fails on is the first attempt to contact the autodiscover service using just the domain name and that is because we have a
record in DNS so our domain name points to our public web server but all the other tests run fine. At the end, it even displays the xml file contents and shows me the external url of the active sync object.
I get a successful run but it first shows SSL certifiate of our public Web site and then hangs on the server config and then prompts me to enter in the server name and domain. My external url in Exchange looks like this:
    https://remote.domain.com/Microsoft-Server-ActiveSync
    Any Help??
    Eddie

Thank you for replaying but there is already internal A record that points to Exchange server. Firewall, DNS external and internal are setup like this:
    Firewall:
Port 443 and 25 points to Internal IP of our Exchange 2013 (only mail server in company).
    Port 80 not open.
    External DNS records:
autodiscover.mydomain.com à points to our WAN IP
remote.mydomain.com à points to our WAN IP
mydomain.com à points to external online webhosting
    Internal DNS records:
autodiscover.mydomain.com à points to ours Exchange 2013 internal IP
Remote.mydomain.com à points to ours Exchange 2013 internal IP
mydomain.com à points to external online webhosting
Test form "ExchangeConnectivityTest.com" is Successful but with warnings.
    Warnings are about https://mydomain.com/AutoDiscover/AutoDiscover.XML
    because
    https://mydomain.com is
pointing to website, which is hosted externally.

  • Configuring Sender HTTPS Connection -- Server/Client Authentification

    Hello together,
I need to configure an HTTPS Sender Connection with client and server authentication. I have already check the documentation however I am still not sure about the particular steps. My questions are as follows:
    - Do I configure the HTTPS connection on the ABAP or JAVA stack?
    - Is it necessary to setup an HTTP sender communication channel
    - How does the URL look like (compared to HTTP connection)?
I have provided XI certificates to the client and the client has provided the certificates to me already. So I guess I have to import them somehow on XI.
    Any help is appreciated!
    Thank you very much.

    Hi
Please follow below steps for HTTPS configuration as sender
You need to use either SOAP adapter or XI Adapter for HTTPS connectivity.
Here configure the Security Check for Inbound Messages.

No configuration is required in the adapter-specific sender channel configuration (inbound) of the Integration Directory.
The authentication/authorization is performed by the J2EE Engine and therefore needs to be configured with the Visual Administrator. This configuration is described in the J2EE Engine Administration Manual and is outlined in the following section.
When a message is to be sent to the Adapter Engine (and ultimately to the Integration Server), the J2EE Engine serves as the SSL Server and presents its server certificate to the client as part of the SSL handshake procedure.
    Client-Side Configuration (Required)
The public certificate of the trusted authority (CA) that signed the public certificate of the SSL server needs to be imported to the list of trusted certificates of the SSL client. This allows the SSL client to accept the certificate of the server in the SSL handshake.
    Server-Side Configuration (Optional)
If basic authentication is used, no additional configuration is required on server side.
If client certificate authentication is requested or required by selection of the corresponding option in the SSL service and configuration of the ClientCertLoginModule in the SecurityProvider service (using the J2EE Administration Tool), additional configuration steps are required.
If the server certificate check on the client side is successful, the client sends its public certificate to the server as part of the SSL handshake (when requested). The server needs to map the certificate to a user for authentication and will then check the authorization based on the security roles of the user.
Perform the following steps to allow the J2EE engine to map the client certificate to a user:
           1.      Import the CA cert of the client certificate to the list of trusted certificates (TrustedCAs keystore view in the keystore service) and import the client cert to an arbitrary keystore view.
           2.      Map the client certificate to an existing user with role SAP_XI_APPL_SERV_USER by using the Visual Administrator, SecurityProvider service, UserManagement tab page.

  • How do you setup a server to use multiple DNS servers that are not connect to each other?

Is there a way to setup a server that connects to two different domains to use the proper DNS server for name resolution?
Let say there are two DCs: serverA.subdomaina.domain.com and serverB.subdoamainb.domain.com.  The domains are independent and not connected.  Now you need a common server that is connected to both and need to resolve names from both
    domains.
    Is this possible?
I have setup a server in a workgroup.  One NIC has the subdomaina.domain.com connection specific suffix and the other nic has the subdomainb.domain.com.  Each NIC has the DNS server listed for the domain it is connected to.
This configuration will resolve FQDNs of one domain but not the other.  This I believe is due to the fact the server only querys one DNS server and doesn't try the other DNS server.
Is there any way to make the server try another DNS server, if the first one doesn't have the entry?

    Hi,
Thank you for posting in Windows Server Forum.
Here adding to the words of “Tim”, a forwarder is a DNS server on a network used to forward DNS queries for external DNS names to DNS servers outside of that network. You can also forward queries according to specific domain names using conditional forwarders.
A DNS server on a network is designated as a forwarder by having the other DNS servers in the network forward the queries they cannot resolve locally to that DNS server. You can refer information regarding forwarders and how to configure from beneath link.

  • What is "best practice" to set up and configure a Mac Mini server with dual 1 TB drives, using RAID 1?

I have been handed a new, out of the box, Mac Mini server.  Has two 1 TB drives in it.  Contractor suggested RAID 1 for the set up.  I have done some research
and found out that in creating the software RAID, this takes away the recovery partition, so I have been reading up on how to create a recovery "disk" using a thumb drive.  this part of the operation I am comfortable with, but there are other issues/concerns that I have.
Basically, what is the "best practice" to setup the Mini, configure the RAID and then start the server.  I am assuming the steps would be something like this:
    1) start up the Mini and run through the normal Maverick setup/config - keep it plain and vanilla
    2) grab a copy of the Server app and store it offline in a safe place
    3) perform the RAID configuration / reinstall of OS X Maverick using the recovery tools
    4) copy down and start the server app
This might be considered a very simplified version of this article (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4886 - Mac mini server (Late 2012 and Mid 2011): How to install OS X Server on a software RAID volume), with the biggest difference being I grab a copy of the Server App off of the mini before I reinstall, since I did not purchase it from the App store, but rather it came with the mini.
Is there a best practice /  how-to tutorial somewhere that I can follow/learn from? Am I on the right track or headed for a train wreck?
    thanks in advance

I think this article will answer your question. Hope this helps: http://wisebyte.blogspot.com/2014/01/best-configuration-for-mac-mini-server.html

  • What is entire process to setup internal server?

I am struggling to setup an internal server for a client on a network. I have found bits and pieces of the puzzle, but can't seem to get every piece in the right place.
The two .php files -- must they live in the ROOT directory of the server?
Do I need to create the CaptivateResults folder, or does that happen automatically?
Do I have to have an IP address in the path to the internal server or can it look something like:
              http:\\h:giverney\Captivate-HR-Results
How can I tell if Adobe AIR is properly installed and working (I do not have admin rights to the PC)?
If there is some place to get a complete cradel-to-grave instruction set with the little nuances about Captivate 6 and internal server, I would be forever grateful.
    Thanks.

I am still struggling with this ... I cannot figure out why Captivate cannot make the connection to the internal server.
I have internal server setup as:   \\infrafile\company\IT eLearning\internalServerReporting.php
the .php file is in the folder above.
If I press F8 from the Captivate file and run the quiz, and submit, I get the message "Connecting ..." but the dots fade in and out repetitively and nothing happens after that.
If I take the quiz from the published file then I get the message "No Connection"
If I go to the browser and type in the URL as configured to the internal server above, I get the results from the .php file in the browser -- so somehow it can be accessed, but not written to?
Is the "space" in the final folder name a problem?
I checked the permissions for the file -- I have full read/write permissions to the folder and file.
    What am I missing?
    thanks

    Hi,
best would be to take the actual version of Oracle (11gR2), which fixes a lot of bugs (also in installation), than to analyze problems based on old versions.
Even if you need older databases (10.2, which I don't hope since support is ending soon), you should at least think about taking the newest version for Oracle Clusterware (Grid infrastructure), .

  • How to setup vpn-server in Mountain Lion 10.8.3?

Before I updated my mac mini server to 10.8.3 I used Server Admin to setup a vpn server. After the update Server Admin isn't supported anymore and my vpn settings are gone. Now i want to setup the server again, but have no clue what settings to enter where.
I suppose it starts with adding two vpn-interfaces: PPTP and LT2P.
But how further? I can't find a tutorial or manual.

    I do now :-)
And many thank, that's the application I was looking for. My vpn is back online. Well, the mac-part. I still can't connect with a Win7 system. Connecting to a vpn-server of another company works fine, so it's something in the configuration of de Mini Server.
    The error code is 629.
Hopefully someone can help me with this part too?

  • Conect clients to public server!

    Hi everybody!
I want to conect clients to one public server. I read SAP meterrial and they constraint that SAP Business One does not support Microsoft Windows XP operating system in a server
configuration either as the SAP Business One Server or as a standalone system. I don't understand.
    Could you explain for me!

    Hello,
you are right. The XP can't be used as server, means that you use it as server standalone and there is no client. You must use server that its OS is W2K3 standard or enterprise edition.
Actually SBO server standalone means that you install SQL server 2005 developer edition, SBO server and license server. if you use another XP and install SBO client there, you will fail to connect to server standalone. This server standalone also means that it will not publish in the LAN or WAN system

  • Use proxy server/ DMZ with ECXpert https

Can anybody tell me how to set up the Integration server when the outgoing XML https is going via a proxy.
The AS2 plugin has special fields for this in ECX.ini.
We have our backlan seperated from the internet by a DMZ. The integration server is situated in the Backlan. How should we setup the server so that messages coming in via https (internet) go into Ecxpert.

What type of internet service do you have?<br />
    i.e., dial-up, cable, DSL or ?
    http://whatismyipaddress.com/
Do you have a fixed IP address? <br/>Most broadband providers use "dynamic" assignment of IP address via DHCP, so you may not always have the same IP address. Those DHCP assigned IP addresses usually expire in 72 hours, so if you wouldn't use your PC from that connection for 3 days chances are your IP address may have been automatically changed.
And you might want to check with your ISP to find out if you can change your IP address via a "refresh".

  • Certificates setup in server / keychain

I have a server running OS-X Server 4.1. I had to reinstall completely and need to set up my SSL Certificates the right way.
    A) Since I am new to Certificates I think I might have messed up something. Since it did not work immediately and since I had te reinstall everything I tried to install all certificates I received everywhere: LOGIN + SYSTEM.
    In LOGIN I now have:
Certificate hostname (issued by StartCom Class 1 Primary Intermediate Server CA)
    Certificate StartCom Certification Authority
Certificate StartCom Class 1 Primary Intermediate Server CA
Certificate StartCom Class 3 Primary Intermediate Server CA
    IN SYSTEM I have
Certificate hostname (issued by IntermediateCA … OS-X Open Directory) + 2x public + 2x private keys
Certificate hostname (issued by StartCom Class 1 Primary Intermediate Server CA)
    Certificate StartCom Certification Authority
Certificate StartCom Class 1 Primary Intermediate Server CA
Open Directory Server = hostname I don’t know if this is causing trouble, because I ended up with two certificates with the same name in keychain?
I learned that I don't need the underlined entries in LOGIN, but on "Symantec SSL checker" website it recommends for best practices to remove the self-signed root from the server. Is this right? How do I do this? At the same website it says:
"Multiple certificates were found with the same common name.
The certificate installation checker cannot determine which certificate is correct. Remove the incorrect certificate and try again."
Is this a problem? Why is this so? Maybe because SSL certificate and OD certificate have the same name?
    B) In OS-X Server I now have two certificates listed:
         1. Certificate: hostname - issued by StartCom Class 1 Primary Intermediate Server CA
         2. Certificate: hostname - hostname OD Intermediate CA
I understand I need to use 1 (issued by SSL provider) to secure services? Could you use also the OD certificate?
    C) When I try to manage the server from a client and try to connect via SERVER APP I get a message saying:
'Server can't verify the identity of the server "server-hostname".'
Why is the connection not secured with my SSL certificate? I saw that you have KEYs and CERTIFICATEs in the Keychain in 4 different levels: Login, iCloud, System, System-Root. Sometimes you have "IDENTITY PREFERENCE". I guess that in identity preference you can choose which certificate to use for a particular service.
In the Identity Preference for COM.APPLE.SERVERMGRD I have 18 certificates listed. 3 of them have the name of my SERVER. 2 of them where issued by my SSL CA and one belongs to OPEN DIRECTORY. Are the 2 SSL CA issued Certificates the reason why SSL checker reports multiple certificates? How can I solve this? I only see one instance of Certificate hostname (issued by StartCom Class 1 Primary Intermediate Server CA) in SYSTEM Keychain?
If I try to change the Identity Preference for COM.APPLE.SERVERMGRD to one of the two Certificate hostname (issued by StartCom Class 1 Primary Intermediate Server CA) and try to login it does not get recognised on the client and is declared as self assigned CERTIFICATE.
    Can someone help?

    Hi Mikey,
I am not sure why you have kept the corporate network under the dmz zone. In general security practice we use to keep the dmz zone/dmz firewall for having the server/hosting environment where external parties requires access to those.... for example web server / application server.....
So your design requires some change in order to have a better architecture....

  • WIndows 7 64-bit system printing to a Windows 2000 server configured as a print server

Is there any way to configure a new Windows 7 64-bit computer to use a Windows 2000 server configured as a print server ?
The printer that I would like to connect to is an HP 4240n LaserJet. I appears that there is only a 64-bit Universal Print Driver available. The server currently uses HP 32-bit PCL5e or PCL6 drivers for all other connected computers. Connection is through a Hewlett-Packard Network Port, using DLC/LLC transport for the embedded 4240n print server.
Installing  the HP 64-bit UPD to the WIndows 7 64-bit system, and then attempting to redirect the local port to the Win2k network print server has not worked.
    Thanks for any advice.

    Hi:
    See if this works...
    Run msconfig.
In the System Configuration screen, Boot tab, Advanced Options, if there is a check mark in the box next to Maximum memory. Remove that checkmark and save your changes.
Reboot and hopefully Windows recognises all the Ram ( minus the reserved ) after restarting.
Please give that a try, and post back and let us know if that frees up some system memory for you.
    Paul
