Configuring ADS in CE 7.2 SP03
Hi,
I am working on CE 7.2 configuration where I need to configure ADS and have to work on Adobe Interactive forms using Webdynpro Java.
Please suggest what are the configurations (and installations if any) to work on ADS.
Thanks,
Patana

Configuring ADS for ABAP stack
Hi,
I am trying to configure ADS for my ECC 6.0 server. It has only ABAP stack. WHen i execute the test report FP_PDF_TEST_00 with sa38 it gives me the following error:
Test Program: Version Information (for Analysis Only)
USAGE ERROR
ERROR CODE : 2
ERROR MESSAGE : ADS
Invalid HTTP connection: ADS
I do not understand how to create the RFC connection ADS since this is only an ABAP stack.Hi Sridevi
Olivier is right, You need to have ADS configured on Java stack.
Check out the following links for more:
https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/50fd998b-494f-2b10-c2ab-e3513a857f62
and
ADS connection test in ABAP failed with ADSUser
and

I hope this helps

Hint for those who configure ADS and faces Forbidden message in SM59
If after installing and configuring ADS you face Forbidden message when testing it in SM59 see this:
http://joeybear23.blogspot.com/2008/09/ads-rfc-test-results-forbidden.html
If this is the case, you will need to alter the security settings for the application/service.
Open your Visual Admin tool and to go Services>Security Provider.
Choose Policy Configuration > sap.com/com.sap.engine.services.webservices.tool~wsnavigator
Select the tab Security Roles. The applied security role for WSNavigatorRole needs to be "all."
The ADS RFC Connection in transaction SM59 should work now.Hello,
I had the same issue and I also solved it by the same way.
Thanks.

I trying to follow the manual for configuring ADS. (ABAP + JAVA on one server)
One of the steps is create a role ADSCallers role in ABAP. The manual says
1. transaction PFCG
2. create role ADSCallers (no authorizations required)
3. activate the role
4. Assign user ADSUser to this role.
ok. for steps 1, 2 and 4.
But how do I activate the role (step 3)? The tabs Menu, Authorizations are red btw.
Thanks
AndreDear Dezso,
Sorry for replying late and thanks for your helpfull suggestion. SP 22 is required and we are having SP 13.
Based on the given configuration, can you help me in finding the nearest best solution which can be used in order to configure ADS?
Thanks again.

Hi Gurus,
i want to configure the ADS-Server for printing Adobe forms.
Here are some Information to the Landscape.
- Java Instance is running on a Solution Manager 7.1
- I want to connect a ABAP Instance of a NW 700 System
I have done the configuration using the installation / configuratin guide.
When i try to test the ADS conntection in transaction SM59 i got the Status 302 "Found".
On another thread i found that i should check if the User ADSUSER is available, not locked and valid.
Everything seems to be fine. The user is type B, System. In Java Useradmin i see type technical.
Any other idea what i can try?
Best regards,
KlausHi Gurus,
I solved the problem 200 "Found". But now i have the next problem. Here are some information to the actual situation:
Program: FP_TEST_00
Error Message: ADS: com.adobe.ProcessingException: com.adobe.Processin(200101)
Message number. FPRUNX001
Program: FP_CHECK_DESTINATION_SERVICE
Option: with destination service
Error message: com.adobe.ProcessingException: com.adobe.ProcessingException: Problem accessing data from Destination: dest:FP_ICF_DATA_HP1//sap/bc/fp/form/layout/FP_FORM_SECURITY_TEST.XDP?fp-language=DE
I checked these points:
Test 1: RFC-Verbindung
- SM59 Test, Code 200, OK
Test 2: User
- Status of ADSUser and ADS_AGENT ok, not locked
- Passwords of the users are ok
Test 3: Destination in VA
- FP_ICF_DATA_SID extended on "/sap/bc/fp/form/layout/fp_test_00.xdp" erweitert, Returncode 200, OK
Test 3: Program: FP_PDF_TEST_00
- Version number: 802.20110310060822.822093
Test 4: Program FP_CHECK_DESTINATION_SERVICE
- Option: without Destination Service
7.746 Bytes transfered
Andy idea what i can do now?
Best regards,

Hallo,
I have a problem with the Configuration of the ADS,
I don`t have the Node Document Service Configuration
in my Visual Administrator.
Thanks
RemoHi Remo,
First, Welcome to SDN.
I guess you have not installed ADS properly.
If you have installed ADS then you should get this servcice in visual administrator.
Refer following link for the same:

Help needed in configuring ADS
Hi
I finished installing the Adobe Documeny service (of NW2004s) in a 32 bit win 2003 server with both Java+ABAP stack.
As described in the ADS Configring Guide, I wanted to check Basic Authentication and when I try the link http://<Servername>:50100/AdobeDocumentServices/Config/
I get a page cannot be displayed page. When I tried to login to VA I get the message unable to lookup conenction default, http://<servername>:8100/msgserver/text/logon returned empty list of connection parameters
also I created a direct connection to a dispatcher node and still unable to login, I used the admin username and the admins passowrd.
Pelase help
Thanks
Regrards
LukeHello Luke,
As your problem seems to be a more general one (i.e. independent from Interactive Forms by Adobe), I would propose to either post this question to another forum or to create an OSS message. It really seems that your installation failed somehow...

Thanks and Regards,
Shashikiran.BHi,
You can manually create the required folders and deploy the .pfx file. It should then work.
Also, It seems like you have multiple posts on the same issue. Can you please close the rest so that we can resolve this issue on a single thread.

ADS configuration error - PDF form not displaying for Java WebDynpro
Hi Experts,
Sub : Problem with configuring Adobe Document Services
We have installed .. NW2004s SP12 on HP-UX OS.
As of now all the services are working fine, recently started configuring "Adobe Document Services", followed all the instructions given in the guide.
Environment :
=============
- Configuring ADS Webservice for "BASIC" Authentication, not for SSL
- Poratl (AS JAVA) and BI (AS ABAP) are running in different systems.
- Portal using UME as the data storage.
- OS is HP-UX
Configuration Check for Interactive Forms in Web Dynpro for Java
=================================================================
1. Checking the User and Password ---
http://<server>:<port>/AdobeDocumentServices/Config -- the system displays the version number of the Adobe document services in the response area.
2. Configured Webservice for Basic Authentication -- success
In the process of testing this configuration -- i've developed a Java Webdynpro interactive form and deployed into my DEV server (NW2004s Sp12).
Unfortunately, form is displaying in my sneak preview version (Nw2004s SP9), getting error when deployed into Dev server - NW2004s SP12 on HP-UX.
We haven't installed ADS separately, making use of ADS comes with the default installation.
Error :
=======
java.net.SocketTimeoutException: Reatimed out
com.sap.tc.webdynpro.clientserver.adobe.pdfdocument.base.core.PDFDocumentRuntimeException: Failed to UPDATEDATAINPDF
I found that the following directory is empty in DEV server ... /usr/sap/EPL/JC03/j2ee/os_libs/adssap/XMLFormService, but not in sneak preview version.
Please do let me know to solve the problem.
ThanksThanks for quick response.
Installed Reader in my PC, i can view the deployed interactive form thru sneak preview, but getting the following error when running the same application thru my development server.
java.net.SocketTimeoutException: Reatimed out
com.sap.tc.webdynpro.clientserver.adobe.pdfdocument.base.core.PDFDocumentRuntimeException: Failed to UPDATEDATAINPDF
I've installed Adobe Reader in the client PC not is the server system.
Thanks

ADS Configuration issue in HA cluster environment
Hi All,
We have HA cluster environment in which we have installed primary node, secondary node and additional application server. We have configured ADS in HA cluster but when we execute "fp_test_00" program in SE38 it throws "ADS: com.adobe.ProcessingException: com.adobe.Processin(200101)" exception. As well as RFC destination "FP_ICF_DATA_<SID>" in java system throws "Error during ping operation: Error while silently connecting: org.w3c.www.protocol.http.HttpException: Connection refused: connect" while we ping destination.
I have checked URL,Port and Logon data all information provided for RFC is fine. Please help me to resolve this issue.
ThanksHi Reagan
As you suggested I have checked the URL(http://hostname:8000) has been used for connection, logon data is also fine. Below I have attached dev_icm trace file and there I can see that system throwing error while "reading data from message server"

hello Gurus,
We wanto to configure ADS but we have some issues that made the ADS doesn't work. our system is SAP ECC 6.0 with EhP 4 on HP-UX - Oracle:
The issues are:
====================================================================
Issue 1
RFC connection ADS was automatically generated during the installation. But when I try to test the connection with ADSUSER, I get the below error.
Status HTTP Response 403
Status Text Forbidden
Duration Test Call 81 ms
Accordong to SAP Note 1177315 - ADS RFC destination test return 403 - 404 code, I execute ABAP report FP_PDF_TEST_00 instead of using SM59 connection test.
Issue 2
Report FP_TEST_00 does not work. I get the error:
ADS: SOAP Runtime Exception: CSoapExceptionFault : SOAP(100102)
Issue 3
Report FP_CHECK_DESTINATION_SERVICE doesn't work when I test it by checking the "With Destination Option".
In Visual Adminstrator, when I try to test the below URL in Services --> Destinations:
http://<server>:<port>/sap/bc/fp/form/layout/fptest_00.xdp_
I get the OK response.
Issue 4
When I click on security provider from Visual Admin, groups:
the group ADSCallers not show the user ADS_User but if I see the user the groups is show.
I am not sure what how to resolve this.

Thanks
Hernandohello,
I made some changes according with your recommendations. Now the update:
1. FP_TEST_00 --> OK
2. FP_PDF_TEST_00 --> OK
3. http://<server>:<port>/AdobeDocumentServices/Config --> rpdata(test.u2026) --> OK
4. FP_CHECK_DESTINATION_SERVICE --> OK
5. FP_CHECK_DESTINATION_SERVICE With Destination Service --> OK
6. FP_CHECK_HTTP_DATA_TRANSFER --> OK
7. FP_CHECK_HTTP_DATA_TRANSFER With Destination Service --> ERROR
SYSTEM ERROR: com.adobe.ProcessingException: Problem accessing data from Destination: dest:FP_ICF_DATA_SID//sap/bc/fpads/formdata/ADS_4B6B369A1CED4011E10000000A003708.xfd
8. http://<server>:<port>/sap/bc/fp/form/layout/fp_test_00.xdp --> OK
9. VA --> http://<server>:<port>/sap/bc/fp/form/layout/fp_test_00.xdp --> OK
10. RFC --> ADS -->
Status HTTP Response 302
Status Text Found

How we can correct this error?
SA38 --> FP_CHECK_HTTP_DATA_TRANSFER With Destination Service -->
SYSTEM ERROR: com.adobe.ProcessingException: Problem accessing data from Destination: dest:FP_ICF_DATA_SID//sap/bc/fpads/formdata/ADS_4B6B369A1CED4011E10000000A003708.xfd

Adobe Document Services (ADS) Configuration
Hello,
I need to configure ADS for Form Processing (ABAP). However, I got the following landscape:
AS JAVA instance: Netweaver 7.01 (EP/BI-Java)
AS ABAP instance: Netweaver 7.4 SR1
Is there any restriction or consideration regarding this scenario? I mean, having an ABAP stack higher than the JAVA. Is it possible?
Regards,
JAMHi JAM,
Please find pre-requisite information in SAP help as below
Configuring Adobe Document Services for Form Processing (ABAP) - Adobe Document Services for Form Processing - SAP Libra…
Prerequisites
The AS Java where the ADS are running should have at least the same release as the AS ABAP.
Caution
The following functions for PDF forms require at least the ADS version on AS Java 7.20:
Parallelization of large print jobs
Stitching of PDF forms
Hope this helps.
Regards,
Deepak Kori
