Configuring Flash Media Live Encoder to launch at system startup

I followed the instructions and am able to get FMLE3 to launch at start-up but I would like it to start with the GUI screen up instead of running in the background. Is this possible?

Write a batch file with following code:
cd\"[windir]:\Program Files\Adobe\Flash Media Live Encoder 3"
FlashMediaLiveEncoder.exe /p "C:\sampleProfile.xml"
sampleProfile.xml can be anywhere. Just give the correct path. Save the above batch file ( C:\fmlecmd.bat)
Now invoke this batch file when the system starts using below script-
Set objShell = WScript.CreateObject("WScript.Shell")
objShell.Run "C:\fmlecmd.bat"
'Give FMLE time to load
WScript.Sleep 5000 'milliseconds to wait
objShell.SendKeys "{ENTER}" 'Start encoding
Copy-paste above lines in a notepad and save the file as launch_fmle.vbs Invoke this .vbs file using system startup or scheduled tasks. You can avoid the batch file by doing a couple of extra steps:
1. Add the FMLE installation directory as an environment varaible.
2. Add this line (after the 1st line) in the above script  - objShell.Run "FlashMediaLiveEncoder.exe", 9

  • Configuring Flash Media Live Encoder

    Hi All,
I am looking to encode a stream from STB. choosed custom on the preset codec section,
There is flexiblity on selecting the codec , bitrate, frame rate and resolution. But de-interlace option is 'hided' ( i mean i can't play much around options).
There seems to be limited options available on the deinterlace (currently it is hiding - i can't select it), quantiser, aspect ratio, threads, first pass/second pass etc.
Bassically except video/audio codec, bitrate, frame rate, resolutio i don't see much options on the encoder.
Does FMLE uses any softwares ( imean vlc, ffmpeg etc) internally? Does it has any config files where i can play around with the encoding options?
Since my input is HD quality, when i encode with
300 kbps, H264 mp @2.1, aac with 15fps quality screws a lot. I tried with different bitrate, but no upgrade in the quality.
Can anybody share their thoughts on configuring/tuning FMLE...
    Thanks.

    Hi,
from what I can tell, FMLE uses MainConcept H.264 encoder which resides as a DLL in the FMLE directory. I don't know if it uses this encoder directly by API or DirectShow, but I would guess the second, as it most likely uses DirectShow to access the media source too.
Deinterlacing should only become available when your source is sending interlaced input, for example a 1080i signal. (i for interlaced). If it sends 1080p (p for progressive), the input is not interlaced and thus needs no deinterlacing at all.
Also I have not found any config files to further tweak the encoder.
    About the quality issue:
300kbps seems to be a very low bitrate for HD input. H.264 defines a 1280x720@30fps at H.264 MP 3.1 with around 14 Mbit/s - with half the number of FPS, it would be still 7 Mbit/s tops.
Depending on the quality you like to achive and the bitrate you have available as upstream, you would either have to reduce the resolution until the target bitrate yields an acceptable quality, or you have to really push the bitrate in terms of Mbit/s instead of Kbit/s.
From my experience, a smaller resolution with good quality always beats high resolution in bad quality - expecialy because the first often can be brought to a higher resolution by scaling up a bit on client side. But as with so many things, thats very dependend on the eye of the beholder
    Best regards,

  • Flash Media Live Encoder won't connect to server

I am trying to configure Flash Media Live Encoder 3.2. I followed the instructions provided by the chatroom I am working for, and it seems to be working until I press the "Start" button on the bottom. When I do that, I get an error message that says
    "Problem with Primary Server
Failure to connect to primary server. Please verify that your Server URL and application name are valid and that your internet connection is working and retry."
I get the same message when I hit the "Connect" button on the dashboard.
I have Windows 7, and more than adequate processing power/connection speed. My performance meter says it is only taking up 9% of my CPU, and my connection speed is at least 15, usually more like 30megs.
    Any suggestions?

    Most of the time is is due to;
    Ports or firewall blocking connections
Settings put into FMLE are not correct, check FMS URL for spaces and the Stream key not being what was expected.
Application no present on the server
Good way to debug is to use the Admininistration panel that Adobe provides in the FMS install.

  • Adobe Flash Media Live Encoder 3.1 crashes at launch!

    Hi there,
Accidently asked this question in the flash area--oops.  Here it is, in the correct section now.  :-)
I have used this Encoder extensively on my PC over the past couple of years and have never had any problems.  I am thinking that an update on some other device might have stealth updated on me and is now causing the Encoder to fail?  I have tried deleting and removing the software then re-installing.  I also tracked down the startup xml file I believe it was and deleted that as well.  Also have rebooted the computer multiple times and aside from throwing my laptop through a window I am lost.
    Help!

Do you have all your devices hooked up (and on) when you launch FMLE?  For example -- your camera or digitizer?  When FMLE launches it will try to launch with the last known settings... including input devices.  If it can't find these devices (they're not hooked up and on) it can crash, although in most situations it will simply show a default screen with default settings.
If you do have your equipment hooked up (and on) when you launch FMLE, try unplugging them and then launching FMLE so that it opens up in default configuration mode (no input devices selected; all default settings).  Then uncheck the "preview" boxes for both your input and output preview windows.  Close FMLE and then plug in your equipment (and turn it on) and relaunch FMLE.  I offer this suggestion as FMLE can sometimes act funny when the preview windows are open with certain types of input devices.  Don't worry -- you don't have to keep the preview windows off forever.  If you can get FMLE to successfully launch with the preview windows off, then you can set your settings however you like and save the profile.  Then quit and relaunch FMLE and then turn the preview windows back on and see if it works.  If it does, great.  Just be aware that making any settings changes while the preview windows are open could result in FMLE crashing.   Again -- this only happens with some capture devices, such as certain Dazzle capture boxes.
If none of this works, you could always try to upgrade to FMLE 3.2 and see if that solves your problem.

    Hey everyone,
I have installed the Flash Media Server v4.3 and Flash Media Live Encoder v3.2...
Question: How do I launch FMLE?
    Thank you,

on windows its start icon/all programs/adobe/   and you should see flash media live encoder  if that doesn't work and you are on windows 7 then you can use the search bar of the start menu......if you on XP you could always look for the .exe in C:\Program Files\ and look for adobe or flash media live encoder Once found right click and create shortcut it may put it on the desktop or you might have to drage the shortcut to the desktop. I haven't used XP in almost 2 years and its becoming a memory for my memory

  • Flash Media Live Encoder high latency

    Hello,
we are trying to stream via Flash Media Live Encoder over a satellite connection (high latency of 1500 ms) and we get data rates no more of 500 kbps although there is available bandwidth to use. Is there any configuration parameter value to compensate the high latency issue. I searched in the knowlegdge db and I found that there were configuration settings for the TCP window size that were solved after the version 2.
    Any ideas?
    Thomas

No... FME does not have any facilities for negotiating with a
webservice or communicating with a browser. You can create an FME
profile xml document and distribute that (sort of like Justin.tv
does), but your users will need to apply that profile
    manually.

  • Flash Media Live Encoder 3 Audio Input Level Resets (XP)

I am using Flash Media Live Encoder 3 on a Windows XP computer, with an Ospery-100 capture card for video and a generic sound card line in for audio input. It works fine, except for every time I launch the encoder or even just stop and start encoding (i.e. without closing the application), it  resets the line in audio level of my sound card to maximum--not good, as the appropriate setting is actually the minimum. If I don't remember to open the Windows mixer and turn it back down, the audio clips like crazy. No other application I use changes the input leve of my sound card in this way. What is happening here? Any ideas? Any solutions? Thanks.

Have you checked volume slider position in FMLE? If it is set at 100% it would increase the audio level of sound card. Drag slider to lower value to reduce the volume level.

  • Proxy between Flash Media Live Encoder and Adobe Media Server

    ciao,
I encode from a pc with Adobe Flash Media Live Encoder to a server with Adobe Media Server. And this configuration works well.
    The actual configuration is:
    1) computer A (es: 192.168.1.5 - gw 192.168.1.254) point to computer B
with FMS url: rtmp://COMPUTER_B_WAN_IP/live and StreamName
    test?user=useruser&password=userpassword
    2) computer B (es: 210.22.11.134) with Adobe Media Server
But now I need to encode from Adobe Flash Media Live Encoder (computer A) to a pc (computer P) and then redirect the rtmp stream to the Adobe Media Server (computer B). Those 3 computers have different lan configurations. If I use rtmpsuck (http://rtmpdump.mplayerhq.hu/) on computer P, can I use it like proxy to redirect the computer A rtmp flow to computer B?
    I suppose:
    1) computer A (es: 192.168.1.5 - gw 192.168.1.254) point to computer P with FMS url: rtmp://COMPUTER_P_WAN_IP/live and StreamName test?user=useruser&password=userpassword
    2) on computer P (es: 10.10.10.8 - gw 10.10.10.254) I install
rtmpsuck, I open port 1935 on his firewall and I configure iptables
    like: iptables -t nat -A PREROUTING -p tcp --dport 1935 -j DNAT
    --to-destination COMPUTER_B_WAN_IP:1935
    3) on computer B I do nothing.
    Now I have 3 questions:
    1- Can it works?
2- On computer P (the proxy) I must install rtmpsuck and rtmpsrv or I can install only rtmpsuck? I don't necessary need to record the stream
3- Is there another way to do this? Is there another software to redirect the stream?
    Thankyou
    M.

Please update us when FMLE OSX is deployed.  BTW, I get that the server market is dominated by LINUX/WINDOWS and this is a FMS add on. But, my shops creative workflow is Mac based for obvious reasons.  Encoding is part of our editing workflow and thus needs to be mac based.  Throw us a bone please.

I am using EXE file installed on my PC.

What's the brand/model of HD IP Cam? Please check whether HD IP Cam use Direct Show or not? as FMLE looks for a "Microsoft DirectShow compatible video capture device".

  • Flash media live encoder 3 - Problem when opening program

    Hi,
I've just downloaded and installed the flash media live encode 3 software. The trouble i'm having is upon launching the software i see the UI for a few seconds before i get a full screen video of my webcam.
From there i don't seem to be able to get back to the UI.
Seems a strange problem, even if i do ctl-alt-del and go to task manager i get back to the desktop for a few seconds and then stright back to the full screen video.
Anyone any idea's on what i'm doing wrong?
    Cheers Paul.

I have the exact same problem and no solution found. Does anyone actually respond on this forum?
