Confusing Specs for Master Collection

Hi Folks,
I have CS6 Master Collection from a download. Now I need to buy a computer. I'd prefer to get a laptop that's running Windows. I know. That's not the thing these days. But the only support I can get where I live is for Windows and I need a smaller computer. It's hard to run for the border with a desktop under your arm. And I travel a lot, too. The areas where I work don't have cloud access, generally.
I'm at the beginning of this process and I'm learning. Forgive me ahead of time if I make blunders. It's OK to send me in the right direction.
The minimum specs for CS6 are a bit confusing. I'll get more than the minimums, once I figure out the direction. Here's what I see as the big points. They're straight from Adobe's system requirements for CS6.
Intel® Pentium® 4 or AMD Athlon® 64 processor with 64-bit support; Intel Core™2 Duo or AMD Phenom® II processor required for Premiere Pro, After Effects, and Encore; Intel Core i7 processor required for SpeedGrade
Optional (I'll get this if I can): 7200 RPM or faster hard drive (multiple fast disk drives, preferably RAID 0 configured, recommended) for v
RAM (I'll get more than this) 2GB of RAM (4GB recommended) for 32 bit; 4GB of RAM (8GB recommended) for 64 bit
I definitely want to use Premier and After Effects. SpeedGrade would be great to use, too. But, are the specs on the first bullet point saying that SpeedGrade won't work or won't work well with the processor that will run Premier? I'm confounded, if that's the case.
Any ideas you can send my way would be much appreciated.

What I bought around January 2014 was a factory refurbished ASUS G750JW that was originally at BestBuy for about $1250 I found for $900. I got the 8GB unit and immediately upgraded it to 24 GB of RAM and then cloned the OS on the lousy 1 TB 5400 rpm drive to a 128 GB Samsung 840. And then installed a 256 GB Samsung 840 Pro in the second drive bay. This then made it a wonderful editing machine. In the process of many edits on this machine I found the some USB3 Flash memory drives worked absolutely great as read-only devices for holding the Project Files and the media. Unfortunately the PNY USB3 Flash Drives that I originally used which had great read speeds which originally had 180 MB/second read speeds were changed and now are lousy I am still looking for a replacement that will test as well or better than my original three PNY turbo, later versions were lousy
Both Asus with their newer G751, MSI with their GT 70 and 80 series and Lenovo with the Lenovo Y50-70 Laptop - 59421859 offer great possibilities.

AppleWorks is not legally available for download. You would need to buy a copy. HardcoreMac.com still lists AppleWorks 6 on their website. You could also try eBay but you would need to make sure it is AppleWorks 6.2 or newer to install on OS X.

That would seem to be the obvious solution. I have tried it but the reason I am asking is the blank fill in the password screen which is the result of this action.
1. open program.
2. License flash screen appears with sign in prompt.
3. Sign in with adobe creative cloud activated.
4. License entry required.
In a perfect world this would prompt an automated response which would read my adobe ID credentials and automatic sign in would occur. So this is my problem. I am stuck on this screen. So here are the options as i understand them. 1. Uninstall and start over. 2. Request support. 3. Search forums.
What am i missing?

Unable to enter serial number for Master Collection CS6 Upgrade

I recently purchased a Master Collection CS6 upgrade (from 5.5). My CS6 serial number was correctly recognised but it said it couldn't find any software eligible for the upgrade despite Master Collection CS5.5 being installed on my PC (running Windows 7 Ultimate). The screen to enter the serial number of the eligible software doesn't have Master Collection CS5.5 in the drop-down, only CS5. Using that option with my CS5.5 serial number doesn't work. I got no response to a case opened on the support site.
In order to install the CS6 software, I then installed it as a trial version. I now get reminders that I only have x days to go but there is no option to enter my serial number. I assume it thinks I've got a trial version of Creative Cloud.
Adobe Support keep closing cases raised on the spurious grounds that I haven't responded. It is they that are not responding! Anyone able to help?

if the serial number has been used, you won't be able to use that serial and that's the only thing you purchased.

Need Soundbooth CS5 for Master Collection CS5.5

When I loaded the Master Collection CS5.5 suite Soundbooth was not present. Have a CS4 version with Web Premium CS4, but only reason I have that suite loaded is for the Soundbooth.

I get the same error. Removed CS3, and used the CS3 clean script (which didn't find anything I hadn't removed). CS5 Premium installed fine. But when I run InDesign, I get the "Error 5" message. When I run Photoshop, it tells me I'm using a 30-day trial version; it prompts for a serial, but will not accept the serial number for the suite (it wants a Photoshop-specific serial, apparently). It tells me to uninstall and reinstall, but I've already done that now, and I still get the same result.

I'm using Adobe Master Collection CS5.5, mainly Photoshop (PSB files bigger than 15GB), sometimes Premiere (1080p) and AFX.
I need a new PC system and I'm kindly asking for help and recommendations.

Part Numbers for Master Collection CS4

Hi there,
I'm really sorry for asking what is a very basic question, however I was wondering if anyone knows the Adobe part number for the UK full retail Adobe Master Collection CS4? I'm thinking about it second hand however I want to make sure that the software is legitimate and licensed for use in this country. I have Googled this but, suprisingly, didn't find any results which I'd consider to be a bit odd.

Thanks for the information - I was quite surprised that the part numbers weren't available online anywhere. I contacted the seller who informed me the software was purchased in the UK, however the box said it was made in the US and I understand the UK releases say they're made in Ireland. The seller didn't confirm where the item was purchased from, so I decided against it. There was definitly something a little suspicious about the deal.

Log in to your Adobe account and you should have a link to download it from there.
The following steps will help locate your software for download:
Go to Adobe.com.

Locate the order number, and click the Download link in the Downloads column.

No single edition for master collection?

so, when i was deciding whether to buy the master collection and the creative cloud, i chose master collection CS6 because under “reasons to buy” its stated that toy can publish to the iPad , wish i could upload a sceenshot but there’s the link:

i just find a little frustrated to know that i bought the master collection and its only available to creative cloud subscriber, now when i call adobe they tell me “sorry, you have to upgrade to creative cloud.” my response is how can i upgrade and pay an extra $600 more when i already have the master collection. THIS is really frustrating and misleading. If i knew i would have returned it immediately and changed. How can i fix this? i cant be the only one going thru this.
i think adobe should at least come with a creative cloud membership for people who bought the licenses.

Sorry, don't know what to tell you. But no, I don't see a whole of people complaining about this.
People made their choice based on available information. On a positive you get to use CS6 pretty much forever while Creative Cloud members only get to use it for as long as they keep paying.
You can still move to CC at any time for $29.99/month for the first year. Paying for one SE app would be more then an entire year.

DPS Question for Master Collection Owners

I own the Master Collection and am not interested in subscribing to the Creative Cloud at this time.
My educational institution has a much easier time fiscally in one-time outlays (licenses) rather than monthly (continuing) subscription models.
For this reason I am interested in DPS however not in the Creative Cloud.
I have been having a bear of a time finding out any information regarding non-Creative Cloud DPS pricing.
I sense a real push from Adobe to the Creative Cloud where DPS is concerned.
I am interested in leveraging DPS in a classroom setting with approximately 40 computers, all licensed with at least Web and Design Premium.
If possible, I would be grateful for pricing for the Professional and Enterprise licenses for DPS.
Additionally, if anyone could explain the differences, along with costs for uploading apps for review and distribution by Apple, this would be wonderful.

The goal is to teach students to integrate the Creative Suite CS6 (in this case, primarily Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign/Incopy) and Lightroom4, into a convergent newsroom environment, with final portfolio in the DPS.
We are designing a curriculum where the final project for students will be a student-created magazine/journal to be distributed via the appstore for alumni outreach.
We have a campus site license with Adobe however our IT staff have no information on DPS, or at least they are unaware of it at this time.
Currently I am working on writing a grant with a deadline of next week, Friday January 25. I want to include costs for licensing of DPS for Education, however I have requirements to adhere to.
In particular, I am not permitted to allocate monthly subscriptions into a grant of this type, rather, the licensing costs must be based on 1-time outlays.
If there were additional charges necessary to upload a finished magazine, that would be fine, but monthly charges (ie subscriptions) would not be possible.

Trial for Master Collection says "Trial Expired" after I just downdloaded.

I just downloaded Abode CS4 Master Collection Trial Version and all the programs in the suite except CS4 Photoshop (64-bit) say "Trial Has Expired". PhotoShop (64-bit) comfirms I still have 29 days left. I am running Win 7 (64-bit) Professional. Please help thanks.

We can't. Once the clocks goes, it's gone.
That said, this is the type of thing that might happen if you don't install the 32 bit apps in the Program Files (x86) folder.

Missing Installation Disc for Master Collection CS3

Greetings....I need to reinstall the Master Collection CS3 because my PC drive got wiped out. I was just reinstalling it and realized Disc 4 is missing when I was asked to insert it. It's been a year or 2 since last time I had to install. I've looked and can't find it. No money or interest in updgrading at the moment. Can anything be done?

hi guys, just a newbie here. i'm a web/flash game-animation hobbyist, just thought to take the notch next level by adding production softwares of adobe by taking in mc cs5.
I got a few questions before buying this monster suite.
my machine is a laptop dell stud 17 core i5 2.93Ghz max, 4MB RAM, 1GB VC, 64bit W7. 500GB HDD 7200rpm
my machine has only 1600x900 video display - mc cs5 recommends 1280x1024; what is the disadvantage, if i don't use their recommended spec and stick to my min display?
what is the "DVD-ROM drive compatible with dual-layer DVDs for?" is it required in installation or just a requirement in video production; say burning/reading dual layer format disc as reference and or burning in that format as final projects? my dvd is just the regular +/- single layer RW drive. No blue ray at the moment.

Yes it is. The system requirements are there for a reason, not just for fun. These apps all have tons of palettes and require extra space for displaying timelines, compositions and video previews and even if they could be installed with such a small screen res, working with them would be no fun at all because things would get cut off or you would be forced to shuffle palettes around all the time. You really need a qualified computer.

Notebook Specs for Adobe CS5 Master Collection

Hi guys, I am currently in process of buying a new notebook.
I will be running a Adobe CS5 Master Collection and few other programs.
Can you guys let me know what are best specs that this notebook must have?
I know Mac is best option but my company is not willing to get one, they are willing to settle for HP / Dell / etc…
I will need this notebook to handle multiple applications at a time (dreamweaver, illustrator, photoshop, etc etc…).
I dont want the basic specs, what more can i include to get this notebook running like a super machine?
eg. 8GB Ram, i7 processor?
What do you guys advise?

I was curious about your experience with CS5 Master Collection, since I purchased the CS4 Master Collection more than a year ago.
I had previously bought the CS3 Master Collection and upgraded. The original CS3 collection was reasonable to work with because there was a Disc for each different program. If you needed to reload a program you could figure it out. When I upgraded to CS4 which was a decent price, I figured what I would get would be comprehensible in the sense that CS3 was. What I received was (I believe 5 discs...I don't have them with me) labeled Content
and Applications. It wasn't long, because of the general 64-bit confusion, that one of the programs (Acrobat Pro) became corrupted. I wasn't sure which disc or discs to load. There are absolutely no instructions or anywhere you can go to find them. Adobe provides nothing for Master Collection
owners, or rather up-graders...try sending an email...good luck. Try calling...to find out how to load a program? By the way when I try to load one of the Content discs, I get a message that says my laptop, with all the bells and whistles, and which originally accepted the Master Collection, cannot load the software, whatever that means. I wrote several emails to Adobe asking for help, I'll even pay for it...no answer. I also subscribe to the Professional Photographers podcast and Adobe is frequently mentioned as having terrible customer service and having over-priced software. I'm seriously thinking of alternatives, but everyone uses Photoshop, which you're probably better off buying by itself. Or, you could wait for another frustrated customer to post his/her complaint to the Adobe Forums. I don't think the Adobe administrators will let this be posted, but please, be forewarned about the terrible customer service.
