Connecting to enterprise wifi

I work in a univesity and previous to 4.1 update had no problem connectin to the wifi.
After the update I'am unable to join the network. I have tried resetting network settings, forgetting the network and rejoining, even a complete restore but still with no joy....
Is this a common problem? are other experiencing the same issue? I have a workmate who is also experiencing this so we are trying to establish if it is a problem with the iphone update or the netwrok

What do you mean by enterprise WiFi (I know it means WiFi at your office)?
The problem is be related to access security - WEP etc or perhaps access control using MAC addresses

  • Can only connect to enterprise wifi the first time each day, then does not reconnect and got the "Association Failed" error

To save battery, I leave my wifi off when the TP's screen is locked.  At home, my TP has no problem reconnecting to wifi after the screen is unlocked.  However, at work, which uses enterprise wifi, I can only connect the first time.  If I lock the screen and then unlock it (causing the wifi to turn off and on again) then the TP will not reconnect and I would get the "Association failed" error over and over again.  If I were to turn the TP off and on again, I would still get the same error.  Here's the strange part, if I come in work the next day, it would be able to connect to the wifi.  If I were to leave the wifi on all the time, it would not disconnect even if I lock the screen.  Now if I were to turn off the wifi and then turn it on again, the TP would not reconnect.  So it seems like the TP can only connect the first time each day....very strange...and frustrating.

Scimmia is right.  But you AcousticBruce are still very wrong.  You claim there were no error messages.  Yet after much proding and denial you finally provide small portions of error messages which fully identify the problem and can be found in many other posts in these forums.  Yet still, you haven't actually provided full output - instead you paraphrased the output after a couple of "//" symbols.
If you don't give us the actual output we can't help - except in this case the error is so common we could very easily help.  So could the wiki page on wpa_supplicant if you had read it, as your problem is explictly listed there in a "NOTE" box.  But more importantly if you are reluctant to give us actual output we will not want to help you.
This issue would have been solved instantly if you would have provided the actual output instead of lying about it.

  • WPA2-enterprise WIFI can't connect after upgrading to 6.1 or higher

    Hi. Please help.
We have a campus wifi with two ssids: one open for everyone and one closed with wpa2-enterprise (PEAP) security for staff. All iphones and ipads works just fine on ios version 6.01 but they can't connect to secured wifi network after updating to ios ver 6.1 and higher (tried 6.1.2). They still able to connect to open wlan ssid. Our WIFI equipment is: Extremenetworks WM3600 controllers and AP4600/AP4511 access points running WM5.4.1. WMM enabled.
WM3600 controller use Windows2008 r2 NPS server + active directory for authorization (selfsigned certificates is 2048 bit length).
    WM3600 wlan staff configuration settings:
    wlan Staff
    description TOGU staff network
    ssid STAFF

    bridging-mode tunnel

    no answer-broadcast-probes
    protected-mgmt-frames optional
    radius vlan-assignment
    no motorola-extensions symbol-load-information
    use aaa-policy Domain_aaa
Here is the log from iphone configuration utility with connection error:

    Hope to get any help.

Yes. We tried to reboot iphone(s), tried also with ipads 6.1. We tried to reset network settings.
We tried to add wifi profile to clean new iphone using iphone configuration utility.
Wireless supplier can't help - they told it is an ios issue and I think this is true because all
ipads/iphones works just fine on  ios5 or 6.0.1 but can't connect on 6.1

  • IPhone 5 WiFi Stopped connecting to Home WiFi

So as of a few months ago, my Iphone 5 stopped connected to many WiFi networks (hotels, Free WiFi etc). I thought this was a network load issue. As of about a week or so ago, it stopped connecting to my Home WiFi.
I have tried EVERYthing. Reset network settings. Reset router. Power cycled both several times. Hard wipe and restore. Static IP. Changed password of network. Changed SSID of network. Changed WiFi version. Changed Channel. Changed security settings of network (WPA/WPA2/WEP). Another iPad running older versions of the OS has no problem connecting to the network and neither does the MAC and a samsung galaxy.
It still does not work on SOME networks. It DOES WORK on enterprise networks and other places.
I went into the genius bar this am - RUDE customer service. Didnt understand the problem. Brought the manager over and he didnt have a solution either. I am hoping someone on the communities has an answer.
    Thanks!!!

I'm having the EXACT same problem!  My iPhone 5 used to connect easily to our and every other network till about a month ago.  Now it rarely connects and if it does, is showing speeds of 0.25/0.25 Mbps.  There is another iPhone 5, two 5c's, an old iPad, and several computers at our house and NONE of them have a problem connecting. I read about this problem on another forum, tried all the suggested fixes and nothing helps.  Genius bar is the next stop.  I'll let you know what they say...

  • Support for WPA-Enterprise, WPA2-Enterprise wifi s...

    hi all
I try to connect my phone to corporate wifi but failed because the phones hangs. my company uses WPA2-Enterprise wifi. my phone clearly works with WPA2-Personal wifi security at home. will these profiles of security be supported in future update?

Although this is the right section for this question, let us continue with your original post …

  • Why does the WPA Enterprise Wifi Network not get displayed?

I wanted to connect to the wifi of my university via eduroam and was not able to even get the eduroam network displayed in the list of Wifi networks. I'm sure that it was there, because I tried it on several spots and my laptop was always able to find it and connect to it. Could it be that WPA Enterprise is not supported? It's quite standard already, isn't it?
There would be a second option to connect to an open network and add a VPN tunnel, but I could not find any vpn-Application for Firefox OS.
Did I oversee something or is there really no possibility to access any of my university networks?
I am using an Alcatel One Touch Fire (German language set) with current Firefox OS 1.1.0.0-prerelease

It seems to me that WPA Enterprise is not currently enabled in Firefox OS.
There are several bugs regarding this feature, among others: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=790056
Regarding VPN, there is a recent thread, which also indicates that this feature is not currently supported. See the discussion here:
    https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/967948
It also lists the bug-id related to this features.

  • AppleTV in corporate, WPA2-enterprise wifi networks

    Hello,
I would like to use AppleTV in my institution's corporate WPA2 secure wifi network, in order to mirror my iPad. I am looking for a stable solution.
iOS devices require the installation of a profile. I have tried to install a profie in an AppleTV (2nd generation). I don't think the profile "stuck". Should a profile stay in the AppleTV, would iOS devices "see" the Apple TV across the secure network? Also, I've read that the problem is that first time the AppleTV tries to connect to the internet, it tries to set date and time, and it remains in there in a loop unless it sets it from a wired connection (then, it can connect to the wifi network)
Another solution would be using an Airport Express to distribute dynamic IP's to the AppleTV and the iOS devices. But, can a WPA2-enterprise profile be installed permanently in Airport Express?
Linking the AppleTV or the Airport Express to ethernet (RJ45 cable) is not viable: those are fixed IP's which must remained assigned only to desktop computers. The solution must be wifi to wifi.
I would greatly appreciate any suggestions.
    Thank you very much,
    -celso

That depends on the settings in the network you're trying to connect to. You need to check with the administrator of that network.

  • Mac cannot find WPA-2 enterprise wifi when updated to Mavericks

My MacBook air cannot find WPA-2 enterprise wifi on the network list when updated to Mavericks, but I can add the network by choosing "joining other network" and typing username and password manually. Anyone knows how to solve this problem?

    Hi everybody,
I'm having your same problems connecting to my Wi-Fi, which worked perfectly since this morning when I upgraded this Macbook, bought at the end of 2008 (actually quite old )
Wireless connect to the router and lease for the IP correctly, but after that show the ! icon and doesn't surf on the Internet...Diagnose Wireless checks everything but the problem still occur.
I sincerely hope they will fix this issue as soon as possible!

  • Can't connect to my Wifi

    Hello!
My iPod Touch 3g is giving me trouble. I can't connect to my Wifi-network at home. I've tried to restart both Ipod and Router. I've trided to rebooth wifi settings.
The wierd thing is that i can connect to the network when i remove the security password, i use the WPK security. But i don't want to have it open like that all the time, what can be worng?
    Thankful for help!
    /Glenn

Here's the encryption protocols that I know - WEP, WPA, WPA2. I'm not familiar with WPK.
When you set up your router WEP is the least preferred as it requires that limit your password characters based on the strength of encryption (5 characters, 48 bit; 13 characters, 128 bit). For WPA and WPA2 you have a choice between personnel and enterprise. Personnel is what you want for home use. You should also see the term PSK (pre-shared key) which just means that all devices use the same password.
Passwords on the touch are case sensitive so be sure considering that when typing.

  • OS8 not connecting with Leap WIFI (corporate WIFI)

    Hi,
I updated my iphone5s with iOS8 now its not connecting with Leap WIFI (corporate WIFI) .
It used to work with WPS2 enterprise option, but now not working with any options.
Tried to restore to factory default settings and tried different devices with Os8 non of the are working.
Any one can help me please

Turn your Home Wi-Fi Router OFF... wait for 30 Seconds... Turn it ON.
If no joy... On your iPhone...
    Reset all settings
Settings > General > Reset > Reset all Settings.
This will return all iDevice settings to factory defaults... you will not lose any data.... But you will have to re-enter all of the device settings.

  • Enterprise wifi problem

I've noticed a problem with the 3GS (and it is the 3GS, since it doesn't seem to occur with iPhone 3G or iPod Touch 2G with 3.0 software) and Enterprise wifi where a WiFi profile will successfully install, but the 3GS will not autojoin the network upon waking from sleep. Confirmed that auto join is properly selected. It will connect, but by going through a process (select network from popup list, approve the joining of enterprise wifi, wifi settings is then launched and network is connected).
Anyone else encountering this problem? It's a real pain!!

I have the same issue, still not fixed.
Effectively means I cannot use wi-fi at university. Useless. No fixes as of yet.

  • Not getting login page when I connect to public wifi

I'm here at a hospital with free wifi. However, when you first connect, it redirects you to a webpage which describes their usage policy and a form for you to submit your email address.
It works fine with my iPhone and iPad, but, with my Windows 8.1 Enterprise laptop, when I choose to connect to that wifi network, I am never redirected to this webpage. Windows only tells me that the connection is "Limited".
    How do I fix this?

    Hi,
Did you resolve your issue? Could you connect other WIFI using your Windows 8.1 laptop?
If no, please troubleshoot your issue as below article:

  • My iPod Touch will no longer connect to the wifi?

I have a 4g iPod Touch with IOS6.0.1. My  iPod was connected to my wifi and working fine two days ago. I went to get on about 7PM yesterday, but there was no connection. I have tried shutting the wifi on and off, airplane mode on and off, reseting the network connections, have made sure I put the password in correctly each time, powered off the iPod, restarted it, and even rebooted it back to factory settings. Nothing has worked. I did get connection finally about an hour ago, but it lasted three minutes and then disconnected again. I know it's not the router because all my other devices that use wifi are working just fine. Does anybody have any other clue as to what to do?

    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Power off and then back on the router
    - Reset network settings: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings
    - iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections
    - iOS: Recommended settings for Wi-Fi routers and access points
    - Restore from backup. See:
    iOS: How to back up
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
    - Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store.
