Connecting to forms server through firewall.

Hi.
Opening form on forms server behind a firewall gives me "FRM:92050 Failed to connect to the server:myhost:9000"
I'm using forms6i release 2, I start f60ctl using mode=http and use ConnectMode=http in the formsweb.cfg file.
If I inspect this inside the firewall I see that port 9000 gets opened. If I open port 9000 in the firewall this works. If I change from mode=http to socket (and keep port 9000 open in the FW) every thing continues to work.
So what is the use of this mode=http? Am I misunderstanding something here?
Please inform me if this works for you, I have spent 2 days reading manuals and trying this.
thanks.

Http mode lets you enable port on firewall for http transport only. Anyway you have to open this port.
How to avoid using additional port:
1. I've read that configuring forms servlet (requires 9iAS with Apache) instead of forms CGI lets using a single port
2. If you configured Web server on one IP and Forms listener on another IP - both on ports 80. I think it should work but haven't tried it yet.
Both solutions are hard for me - first requires to buy and deploy 9iAS and second requires to have another IP and another certificate (if you want https).

  • How to track IP's of clients connecting to DB server through Apps Server

My Application server address is like http://192.220.0.75:7779/forms90/f90servlet form=TEST.fmx&userid=@abc
I can connect to Apps server from any computer using explorer with this address .
for auditing when I connect to db server through Apps server then my audit table detect only server IP- 192.220.0.75 each time but when I connect by oracle DS or toad then my audit table detect each computers defferent IP address.
how can I detect different users and IP addresses connecting to database server using apps server instead of apps server IP?

You can try to use WebCache event_log, this one will show your clients IP or you can uncomment UseWebCacheIP ON in httpd.conf file, so you ensure that the access_log show the ip of the user and not of the server.

  • IPhone connection with B1i Server through internet

    Dear All,
iPhone is successfully connected with my B1i server through intranet (wifi connection).
But When i am trying to connect my B1i server through internet, I am getting the following issue.
I am getting an error as follows when i try to browse the tomcat homepage in IE
XCL198 HTTP-access currently not allowed from remote clients, as B1iP runs in local-mode or safe-mode.
I followed the solution given in B1iC troubleshooting Guide.
I am using SAP 8.81 patch level 6.
    Maintenance->CFG Runtime parameters as
    B1i Http port :8080
    B1i Https port : 8443
B1i Server : My server ip
Please help me to resolve this problem.

    Ken, George, Dear all,
in given context of problems running the mobile solution, please do NOT change B1i server Xcellerator properties at all.
Quite frequently there are ideas to change the default settings of WebDAV and remote settings of B1i server. This is simply a waste of time and definitely not required for troubleshooting or making the mobile
    solution working.
Simply check the documentation 'Administrator's Guide for the Integration Component' for the purpose, the default settings, and further info about these properties you instruct to change:
    a) About xcl.http.localOnly
Administrative Web access is limited to the local machine only. After installation, it is possible to manually allow access by remote machines by changing the particular setting in the operating system configuration file
    (Xcellerator.cfg).
For additional documentation, choose Start → All Programs → Integration solution for SAP Business One → Integration framework, and then choose Help → Ref 04 – Operations, chapter 6.2.
    b) About WebDAV-based access
WebDAV-based access to BizStore content is disabled. SAP does not recommend enabling this kind of access for productive systems, as this is typically needed for development systems only.
For additional documentation, choose Start → All Programs → Integration solution for SAP Business One → Integration framework, then go to Help → Ref 01 – Dev Environment, chapter 3.
For checking the connectivity from mobile to server / excluding network issues, B1iP can definitely run in local mode. When calling the server from mobile, B1iP would give you a fully sufficient, proper
    response:
SAP B1iP detected an error: Emitted HTTP-Code 403 - Forbidden
Internal Reason XCL198 HTTP-access currently not allowed from remote clients, as B1iP runs in local-mode or safe-mode.
    - This is exactely the alleged 'error', Tamizharasi mentioned at the beginning. Behind the internet connection issue from iPhone to his B1i server (which was unfortunately not described at all) must have been a quite different root cause - changing xcellerator properties is unfortunately a wrong recommendation here in order to clear such general iPhone issue.
I am concerned here from security side, such settings may not be amended lightly, and lead the problem-solving in the wrong direction - beside your additional efforts.
We do recommend to keep the default values and undo such configuration changes again, if not needed.
For troubleshooting the mobile solution please check SAP note 1602674.
    Best regards, peter

  • Can't connect to Exchange2003 Server through WRT54GS (via wireless)

I'm having problems conencting to my MS Exchange 2003 server, from an Outlook 2003 Client, when using wireless on a WRT54GS.
    Hard wired - works fine.
Wireless - connection times out ("unable to connect to exchange server")
I can browse the internet through the wireless conenction, download (legal) music, etc. Cannot use Outlook/Exchange.
I disabled the "firewall" features on the router. (block external requests, etc)
    WEP is enabled.
The Router was bought about 6 months ago (original firmware)
any suggestions? anyone successfully using Exchange across a wireless conenction?

first i'd suggest that you upgrade to the latest firmware....also open ports 443-447 under the port forwarding section of the router.

  • Not able to connect with Oracle server through VBScript without DSN

    Hi
I have both Oracle9i and Oracle10g clients installed with local system.
I am able to connect to Oracle Database 11g Enterprise edition server though sqlplus through command prompt and also through AQT without any error.
As the server has lots of database ,whenever I connect to a particular database through sqlplus from command prompt,I connect as below
    C:>sqlplus username/password@service_name
and it gets connected without any error.
When I am trying to connect the same database through VB Script,I am getting ORA-12560 TNS:Protocol Adaptor Error.
Below is the connection string I am using:
    Database_String = "SERVER=xxxx.vvvn.Com;Driver={Oracle in OraHome92};DATABASE=service_name;user id=userid; password=passowrd"
I have installed a Oracle10g server in my local system and tried to connect the same way and I was successfully ,but its not working when the server is running remotely.
Does it make any difference with the version of driver being used ?Should I need to modify my connection string anyway.
Please help me as to identify the issue.Thank you very much in advance.

Make sure that the receiver webservice is up and running and in a state to receive the external calls. Confirm if the data you send is as per the requirement of the webservice and they haven't changed anything at their end.

  • Getting problem when connecting to SMTP server through java code

    Hi all,
I am getting problem when i am going to connect with "Kerio SMTP server" through java code. The error what i am getting is :
"[16/Sep/2008 15:59:09] Sent: Queue-ID: 48cf8a73-000000f9, Recipient: <[email protected]>, Result: failed, Status: 5.3.2 554 5.0.0 Too many hops (101, max 100), message looping" when sending an email from [email protected]

Looks like something is set up wrong on your server that's causing messages
to be forwarded around a loop too many times without ever reaching the destination.
For instance, if server A forwards to server B, and server B forwards to server A,
    this would happen.

  • Having problem while connecting to SQL Server through a application

    hi guys ,
having one problem while connecting to the SQL SERVER 2008 R2 through a application (Dynamics NAV), by using the concept of Linked Server.
But one more thing , i am able to access that very SQL server through my app , when i am working locally , i mean to say that when i am working on the machine itself on which the server is installed then its working fine .
But when i am working on another system the query doesn't work.

by using the concept of Linked Server.
Why through a linked server and not directly as a simple remote connection? I don't think you app is aware of linked server.

  • Not connected to Forms Server ???

I am trying to deploy some of the 6i forms on web using OAS on UNIX
    machine.
I have two applications running on 2 different ports of web server
    namely
80 and 81.Apparently they use the same port 9000 of the Forms Server.
When I call the baseHTML for port 80 , it connects fine and asks for the
    connection string.
But when i call the baseHTML for port 81, it says
Applet oracle.forms.engine.Main intitiated and then gives this error
FRM-99999 Failed to connect to the server:servername:9000
Could any one give me some idea about whats happenning.?
Also where can i find (physical directory) the configuration files for
    the forms server setup.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Santosh.

The getNextDatabankRecord() call is at the beginning of my run code. I use one step just for this line code.
    Code :
    public void run() throws Exception {
              beginStep("CHARGEMENT DES DONNEES SUIVANTES");
                   info("Chargement des prochaines données...");
                   getDatabank("NouvellesIA").getNextDatabankRecord();
              endStep();
Stop the user after this step and goto the finish section should not be a problem...
If I use the "When out of records" option, does it jump directly to the finish section ?
    Thanks,
    Benoit.

  • Issue while connecting to managed server through WSLT

    Hi All,
we have one Admin Server and 6 managed server.
we are successfully able to connect to Admin server which is running on port 7001 but
when we are trying to connect to any of the managed server at port 8001 we are getting below error:
    Traceback (innermost last):
    File "<console>", line 1, in ?
File "<iostream>", line 22, in connect
File "<iostream>", line 646, in raiseWLSTException
WLSTException: Error occured while performing connect : Error getting the initial context. There is no server running at t3://<host>:8001
Use dumpStack() to view the full stacktrace
Please let us know how to enable WLST to connect to managed servers.
    Thanks

This was a silly mistake from my side.
Actually our server hosts multiple managed server on same machines using VIP.
hence using Alias in WLST connect command solved the issue,
    Thanks.

  • Cannot connect to J2EE server through Visual Admin

Our WAS640 based EP7.0 trial license got expired after 30 days. Then we applied permanent license on the WAS. .

Our J2ee server instance no is 03
I have seen many people posted this question on SDN, but no one updated with the resolution found. Can anyone suggest debug/resolution??
    Thanks

Multiple causes can generate this error. Some possibilities:
    a) the ciphers between your client and server don't match; validate the Ciphers line /etc/ssh/sshd_config:
grep Ciphers /etc/ssh/sshd_configb) your sshd is running without host keys (p.e. manually adding sshd to your system after install); generate the host keys:
    /lib/svc/method/sshd -c
    svcadm restart ssh

  • Fireftp can establish a connection to a server through my LAN

I am trying to use fireftp to connect to a college server for a class I am taking on the web. The college support is not at all helpful for mac users. I have a local network set up through my Airport Extreme. I have tried various changes to the settings of the proxies through the advanced tab on the network preferences and nothing is letting me get out to the server. After each change to the settings I have restarted fireftp and still can't get out. Any ideas would be most appreciated.

I realized that the topic headline should have said "fireftp cannot establish a connection...."
