How do we connect from a remote client to a Tuxedo server?
When we tried to build a workstation client using buildtuxedo 8.0,it is unable
to link "libnwi.lib" file. But there is no "libnwi.lib" file in the system
please resolve this error

subhash,
You should be able to build a workstation client using buildclient -w
{other options}
If this isn't woking, you should contact BEA support.

  • New install issue-unable to connect to DB server from a remote client.

    Hi experts,
I am new to setting up oracle server so pls bear with me...
I setup a db server (11g on top of 64bit Oracle Linux) at home (static 192.168.1.90). I verified that db, listener are up and running. However, I tried to connect to the server from a different client machine (192.168.1.108) within my home network but the server cannot be reached. I was able to ping both client and server using the IP addresses and hostnames. I followed the following steps to perform troubleshooting but was unable to move on beyond step 3, telnet-ing the server on port 1521. Can someone help me out what I should do make the port # (1521) is reachable by the client?
    1. Check with "ping" using the IP address ("ping 198.11.34.43"
    2. Check with "ping" using DNS name (e.g. "tnsping uranus")
    3. Try telnet to the IP on port 1521 (telnet 1.2.3.4 1521)
    4. Check with "tnsping" using TNS service name
    5. Invoke SQL*Plus from the OS command line "sqlplus fred@flintstone". If this fails, check to ensure that your listener is the flintstone service defined.
    6. Sign-on to SQL*Plus and connect with the TNS name ("connect fred/flintstome@service_name"
    7. Within SQL*Plus, try a select from table@remote_db_link
    thanks a lot in advance.

Is COPY & PASTE broken for you?
It is really, Really, REALLY difficult to fix a problem that can not be seen.
use COPY & PASTE so we can see what you do & how Oracle responds.

  • Problem while connecting to Oracle 9i server from Oracle8.1 client

    Hi experts,
Could you please help in resolving the issue we are facing.
We are trying to connect from Oracle 8.1 client to Oracle 9.2 server and its giving error .This is on Linux environ ment.
FYI - we are getting errors when we changed the client as Oracle 8.1 instead of Oracle 9.2.
    Pls suggest.
    Thanks.

8i client can connect to the 9iR2 database, but beware wich client are you talking about, only 8.1.7 is compatible against 9iR2, even though you must be aware this is a no longer supported combination, which means in case you find a bug the only solution available is to upgrade the client version to 9iR2.
By the way, is there a real reason why you have to tie your client to 8i? Being 8i long ago dessuported.

  • Query a List of Open WMI connections on a server from a remote system

We are monitoring a specific windows service on a server using Sitescope remote monitoring. The sitescope system uses a WMI method to Check if the service on a specific server is up or not. Initially it works like a charm but over time the WMI connections from
sitescope time out and we have been told that Sitescope is not closing the WMI connection it opens gracefully and the open connections pile up.
I am looking for a way to list open WMI connections to a specific service and/or server from a remote system and a way to kill those connections via a scheduled PowerShell (or batch/perl) script. I was able to list specific classes by -list parameter
    of the Get-WmiObject cmdlet
but am unable to determine which class will give me the information that I require and the method to kill those connections.

Sitescope is not closing the WMI connection it opens gracefully and the open connections pile up.
    1. It's not clear what "not closing the WMI connection it opens gracefully" means. WMI is a management technology that uses DCOM to connect to remote computers. (Is it really a question about DCOM?)
    2. It's not clear what specifically "open connections pile up" means and what problem(s) it causes.
    3. This is really a support question for that software's developer, not a question about WMI.

  • How to connect to a Sql server from Oracle using db link

    Hi All,
Does anybody have any idea about how to connect to a sql server from oracle database using db link to syncronize the data? I need to pull the data from Sql server table to Oracle tables and relay messages back to the sql server.
    Thank you,
    Praveen.

    we have 2 products - DG4MSQL and DG4ODBC.
DG4ODBC is for free and requires a 3rd party ODBC driver and it can connect to any 3rd party database as long as you use a suitable ODBC driver
DG4MSQL is more powerfull as it is designed for MS SQL Server databases and it supports many functions it can directly map to SQL Server equivalents - it can also call remote procedures or participtae in distributed transactions. Please be aware DG4MSQL requires a license - it is not for free.
Check out Metalink and you'll find notes how to configure both products.

  • Connect the SAP B1 server to the Remote SAP B1 client

    hi experts..
i want to know how to connect the SAP B1 server to the Remote SAP B1 client machine.

    Hi Raleigh,
The reason why it is slow or hanging, is u need to upgrade the RAM in your Server. we have implemented the same concept and the speed is also good.
But we have done with one Single Server in the Office, which can be accessed both through Local LAN and via internet, for this we had given two IP Address for the Server.
One will be Public Static IP and the other is Local Static IP.
    Hi raleigh,
I configured static ip with Nat mode in router. It was connecting from out side and while connecting it was asking Licence server ip,then i have given ip after that it was showing ths error"connection to the Licence server failed (60070-15)".Please help me.

  • Connect to Sybase SQL Anywhere from a remote location.

    BH
Hi, we are running SQL Anywhere 16.  Currently our client computers are connecting through ODBC.  Is there a way to connect to our server from a Remote Location (over the internet)?  If yes, how?
    Thanks
    Aron

    Hi Aron,
Is there a way to connect to our server from a Remote Location (over the internet)?
    Yes, there is.
    If yes, how?
You will need to supply a HOSTNAME (or direct IP) and PORT to the server running the network database server, communicating over TCP (Note: This may involve opening a TCP port on your firewall to provide a direct TCP route). For the SQL Anywhere client, this information can be set in the ODBC DSN entry as the following screenshot shows:
Note that this is unencrypted traffic across TCP/IP, by default.
If this communication is over the Internet, using an unencrypted channel directly to the database is not recommended. Instead, we would recommend that you also configure Transport Layer Security (TLS) with strong encryption enabled using a certificate (either self-signed or provided by a Certificate Authority (CA)). To do this, you need to create the certificates and then start the SQL Anywhere database server with the (private) server-side identity certificate.
Once the database server is started, you will then need to configure the client for secure communication with the public certificate. When configuring Transport Layer Security on the ODBC client, the security settings (e.g. trusted_certificates, certificate_unit, certificate_company, certificate_name) can be entered on the "Network" tab:

I need to control a Lion Server from a remote location and need to poke some holes in the firewall, unfortunately, I have no idea what ports those need to be. I can control the Server via the Server Admin application, but it will simply not connect via the Server.app.
    Suggestions?

I need helping configuring RDP access to my local server from a remote location on my Cisco ASA 5505 Firewall.
I have attempted to configure rdp access but it does not seem to be working for me Could I please ask someone to help me modify my current configuration to allow this? Please do step by step as I could use all the help I could get.
I need to allow the following IP addresses to have RDP access to my server:
    66.237.238.193-66.237.238.222
    69.195.249.177-69.195.249.190
    69.65.80.240-69.65.80.249
My external WAN server info is - 99.89.69.333
The internal IP address of my server is - 192.168.6.2
The other server shows up as 99.89.69.334 but is working fine.
I already added one server for Static route and RDP but when I try to put in same commands it doesnt allow me to for this new one. Please take a look at my configuration file and give me the commands i need in order to put this through. Also please tell me if there are any bad/conflicting entries.
THE FOLLOWING IS MY CONFIGURATION FILE
Also I have modified IP information so that its not the ACTUAL ip info for my server/network etc... lol for security reasons of course

Unclear what did not work.  In your original post you include said some commands were added but don't work:
    static (inside,outside) tcp interface 3389 192.168.6.2 3389 netmask 255.255.255.255
and later you state you add another command that gets an error:
    static (inside,outside) tcp 99.89.69.333 3389 192.168.6.2 3389 netmask 255.255.255.255
You also stated that 99.89.69.333 (actually 99.89.69.233, guessing from the rest of your config and other posts) is your WAN IP address.
The first static statement matches Cisco's documentation, which states that a static statement must use the 'interface' directive when you are trying to do static PAT utilizing the IP address of the interface.  Since 99.89.69.333 is the assigned IP address of your WAN interface, that may explain why the second statement fails.
Any reason why you are using static PAT (including the port number 3389) instead of just skipping that directive?  Static PAT usually makes sense when you need to change the TCP port number.  In your example, you are not changing the TCP port 3389.

I Have tried desabling the firewall, disabling the antivirus protection. Tried by changing the default rule Please Help.

    Hi Sagar,
First, please check if the RAM is exhausted. When there is not enough RAM, this issue may occurs.
Please try to run iisreset on the WSUS server, then try to reconnect.
Also, please try to run the server cleanup wizard to remove the unused update.
    Best Regards.

  • Connecting to a NT server from another server

Hello, All. I was wondering If anyone knew the best and more efficient way to connect to a NT server from another server. Once the connection is made I need to be able to execute .cmd file on the NT server.
    Thanks
    Donald

I doubt if there is a "best" way. Do you want to do this programatically or interactively?
    Interactive methods include:
Run a terminal server on the NT box and telnet to it.
Run a webserver on the NT box and create some simple server side script to execute the .cmd
    Programatically:
Create a simple server to listen on a port, recieve connections, and execute command that are passed. (This is signicantly more arduous than the interactive methods, especially if you want some user authentication).
    Use RMI or CORBA

  • Connecting to network SQL Server from SQL Developer

    Hi All,
I am trying to connect to network SQL Server from SQLDeveloper but I am unable to connect( I am getting could not connect to SQL Server...). I have searched many sites but could not find the solution. I am giving HostName as MachineName\InstanceName and keeping the port as 1433.
Can anyone explain how that connection string should be given.
    Thanks.

    From help with additional comments
Host Name: Host system for the Microsoft SQL Server or Sybase Adaptive Server database.
E.g., sybase.myCompany.org (DNS name or IP address)
Port: TCP/IP Port on which Microsoft SQL Server or Sybase Adaptive Server will listen.
As mentioned by others, need to know how server is configured. Common values: 1433, 5000
Retrieve Database: Name of the Microsoft SQL Server or Sybase Adaptive Server database.
Once the other data is correct, press this to populate list box and select which database you want associated with this connection. E.g., pixar, pubs2, etc.

  • Can't connect to my VPN server from the WAN addres...

I've setup a PPTP VPN server on a Raspberry Pi, so that I can connect to it when out and about and avoid having my android internet use sniffed by random public wi-fi hotspots.
It seems to be working as I setup a Windows 7 connection to it using the LAN address (192.168.1.85) and that connected fine but I can't get it to work through the BT HH3 via the WAN address. I've forwarded port 1723 to 192.168.1.85 and tried disabling the firewall, enabling port clamping and putting the RPi in the DMZ, none of which made any difference.
Is anyone able to help please?

Did some testing from my parents house yesterday and whilst connected to their router (Virgin Media) and/or a local BTWiFi hotspot (I can't honestly remember if I tried both or if I only tested with one or the other), I was able to connect to the VPN Server from my phone.
I can also connect from my home PC using Putty to the VPN Server on SSH (port 22) with that forwarded in the router using the WAN address, so NAT travesal doesn't seem to be an issue.
Yet I still can't connect to the VPN Server from home, whether connected to my HH3 or a local BTWiFI-with-FON hotspot, using the WAN address, only the LAN address, which doesn't make any sense to me.
I don't think it's relevant to this problem but I want to ask a question about the router firewall as the description for Default (which is what I have enabled) says "Allow all outgoing connections and block all unsolicited incoming traffic. Games and application sharing is allowed." but it doesn't appear to block unsolicited incoming traffic as otherwise I don't think I'd have been able to connect to the VPN Server from my parent's house, or on SSH from my PC using the WAN address. So is the description incorrect?
