Connection to Master Repository on Informix DB failed

Hi,
I have problem with connection on Master Repository which is installed on Informix DB.
When I tried to test connection, the connection was successful. But, when I tried to connect to Master Repository the message was:
Connection to repository denied
java.sql.SQLException: Transactions not supported
Is it problem in DB user and pwd which is not snpm/snpm? Is it necessary to use this user/pwd?
Can You suggest me some other solution?
Thanks in advance,
Mario

I have exactly the same configuration and the same problem.
1.     I have created a Master repository on Oracle DB, username: snpm, passwd: snpm
2.     Worked fine with odiparams.bat:
set ODI_SECU_DRIVER=oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver
set ODI_SECU_URL=jdbc:oracle:thin:@xx.xx.xx.xx:1521:orcl
set ODI_SECU_USER=snpm
set ODI_SECU_ENCODED_PASS=gPypo6mbWwertzGIFKhUlp
set ODI_SECU_WORK_REP=WORKREP1
set ODI_USER=SUPERVISOR
set ODI_ENCODED_PASS=LELKIdsfliiejfrgrFefeeFfGH
3.     Created Master repository on Informix, user:informix, changed odiparams.bat:
set ODI_SECU_DRIVER=com.informix.jdbc.IfxDriver
set ODI_SECU_URL="jdbc:informix-sqli://xx.xx.xx.xx:9088:informixserver=ol_imix;database=stores_demo"
set ODI_SECU_USER=informix
set ODI_SECU_ENCODED_PASS=b9yXqoaisjdOIJDkdkOKDksf
set ODI_SECU_WORK_REP=
set ODI_USER=SUPERVISOR
set ODI_ENCODED_PASS=wokdOKWdvnriosefSDDFDGGH
4.     Test connection passed successfully.
5.     Trying to connect and getting (with and without ODI_SECU_URL in double quotes):
Connection to repository denied
java.sql.SQLException: Transactions not supported
From „Connection ...denied“ I'm guessing it has something to do with grants and permissions to Informix user
Anybody has a suggestion?

    Hi,
I am in trouble to connect on TOPOLOGY MANAGER at first time. I've created the Master Repository but when I went to Topology Manager to create the Work Repository it failed. Below is a list of what I did:
    Click New
Fill up (Login Name) <I choose an Alias>
    User - SUPERVISOR
    Password - SUNOPSIS
    -------Database Connection (Master Repository)-----------------
User - <my database user - same I used to create the Master Repository>
    Password <same as above>
Driver List - Oracle JDBC Driver
    Driver Name - oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver
    URL - jdbc:oracle:thin:@<host_name>:1521:<database_name>
So when I click in Test buttom, I got Connected Succesful, but when I click in OK I got the error below:
    java.io.FileNotFoundException: .\snps_login_security.xml (Access Denied)
So does someone has any idea about how to solve it?
    Thanks

  • ODI can't connect to Master Repository(SQLS05)

    Hi guys,
my ODI can't connect to the MASTER REPOSITORY (SQLServer2005)!
It gives me an JDBC error when I try to test the connection!
The USR and PSWD are ok, what's the problem?!
    Any suggestion would be appreciate!
Thanks in advance, bye all ;)

    Hi,
Are you using the SQL server 2005 JDBC drivers, if so then it is a different connection string than in 2000
    The connection details are :-
    com.microsoft.sqlserver.jdbc.SQLServerDriver
The URI should look like this:
    jdbc:sqlserver://myHost:1433;selectMethod=cursor;databaseName=myDB;integratedSecurity=false
    Cheers

  • Unable to connect to Master Repository - AE Tool

    Hi,
We are implementing LSO and are on the latest version of 604. Initially we had an approach to save the courses to SAP KM. Everything worked fine until we decided to use a new Content Management Server (CMS). The BASIS team has setup the CMS properly and have successfully tested it.
They have created a file system in an ECC System and have requested to use the URL http://<QA ECC>:1090/saplsq/lsqcs/contrep/Z_LSO_CONTENT
I would also like to mention that the BASIS team have setup the Z_LSO_CONTENT repository in OAC0 with a Staorage Type as "HTTP COntent Server'.  Under CMSADMIN, I am able to see things OK for this repository.
When I run this URL on the browser, I can see the files and folders.
But I am unable to connect to this folder from the Repository explorer tool.
I get the below error message.

  • HPDM 4.6 - Master Repository Issue

I have set up HPDM, but I'm getting an error message.  I can run basic tasks on all discovered thin clients, etc, that part works fine.
    - "Error occurred when connecting to the Master Repository Controller.  Any operation requiring payload will fail.  Error Details: Failed to connect the Master Repository Controller.  Maximum number of retries reached."
In the Repository Management window, I only have one setup.  I've tried using both FTP (Port 21), and SFTP (Port 22), with no change.  When I "test" the SFTP Protocol Settings, the test is successful.
The HPDM Device Management Gateway and Management Server Control are both on a central server.  The FTP setup is web-hosted.  The Device Manager is running on my local machine.  I have admin rights to all locations including the credentials for the FTP site.

  • Issue in configuring the Master Repository in ODI

    Hi,
I just downloaded and installed ODI. I wanted to create Master Repository in Sql Server 2005 (service pack 2). I gave the following string for jdbc:sqlserver://<servername>:1433;selectMethod=cursor;databaseName=odimaster;integratedSecurity=false. I also entered a valid username and password. Apart from this I have copied the sqlJdbc.jar file in the OraHome_1\oracledi\drivers directory.
The above is resulting in an error. Has anyone faced this issue?
    Thanks,
    Amol

Thanks John and Ioggo for helping me.
I have got the Master repository configured by replacing the sqlJDBC.jar file that I intially had by 1.2. I also was able to configure the topology but unfortunately I am now stuck in configuring the work repository. I am following John's blog but each time I do a test connection it gives me connection failed. I have used the same connection string for JDBC. Following is my understanding on the different text boxes in the dialogue box, please let me know if my understanding is not right:
I have created a separate database in sql 2005 for this and I am entering the name of the database in the 'Name' text box.
For technology I am using Microsoft Sql Server
Server - I am giving the name of the machine.
Connection - I have created a sql user odiwork with relevant access in sql 2005 and I am passing the credentials here.
Following is the detailed error that I am getting:

  • Master repository creation

We directly tried to configure master repository from ODI installation then,
*"INST-07309:Specified Master Repository credentials are not valid"- this error occured, and couldnot let us proceed.*
We later tried with RCU but same error message occurred at the same stage.
What is the solution for this??
From where we can download rcu 11.5
We searched alot but we could not found it.
    Help is highly appreciated.
    Thank you.

    John,
Thanks for your help & patience.
So here is wht I did.
    1. downloaded the file from the link that you provided below unzipped that file & it has 2 files in folder enu one is sqljdbc & the other is sqljdbc4. I copied the file
sqljdbc4 to the drivers folder where odi was installed.
2 I restarted all ODI components and tried to run the master repository wizard it came up with following while i started :
A JDK is required to execute Web Services with OracleDI. You are currently using
    a JRE.
OracleDI: Starting Master Repository Creation wizard ...
Not sure if JDK is mandatory or we can go ahead only with jre
    3. I then made a connection for my master repository. checked connection got a connection successful. I then hit ok it did nothin so hit cancelled. Is there a way to test if it did something at this step ?? not sure if it creates some tables on backend i checked but there were none.
    4. Then i went to toplogy manager , hit on the new connection entered the details for the Oracle data Integrator connection & Database connection(Master repository) that we created in step 3. tested the connection it says successful connection.
    5. I hit ok on the screen & hit ok on the security repository connection screen & it does nothing. it keeps showing me the same screen without giving any errors.
Not sure if there is an error file that i can check to know where exactly is it failing or any other thought that might be causing this?
I have my server 2008 & ODI installed on the same machine
    Thanks in advance!

  • Error while Creating Master Repository: ORA-01031: insufficient Privileges

    Hi,
I'm trying to install ODI into my VM.
I have done the installation and while creating Master Repository, I'm getting following error:
    ORA-01031: insufficient Privileges
I'm using Oracle & have created user as ODI_MASTER with Admin Privileges.
I'll be using it to load metadata onto planning (Version 11.1.2)
Is there anything that I'm missing out on.
    Jitendra.

Seems missing grants on the user you are using to create Master Repository.
you are using Oracle .. grant connect, resource to <your_user>. These two rolesa have sufficient access to db to create the master repository.
execuute the sql from sys user

    Regards,
    Ahmed Salah

    Hi,
Copy the sql server driver into the oracledi\drivers directory and restart the create repository
You need to manually enter the driver name and url for sql server 2005
    e.g.
    com.microsoft.sqlserver.jdbc.SQLServerDriver
    jdbc:sqlserver://<sqls machine>:1433;databaseName=<db name>;integratedSecurity=false
    Cheers
