  • Inventory Cube Optimization.

    Dear All,
As I am having the requirement as per the following, need your inputs.
    Datamodell:
Inventory Cube 'X1' with data from source system S1 since 2007.
Inventory Cube 'X2' with data from source system S2 since 2007.
    Problems:
Queries are defined on X1 and on X2. And the performance of queries are poor due to high volume of data in cubes.
    Requirements:
    1. In order to avoid the above said problem, I have to create a new cube(History) and move data from X1 and X2 to new cube
(History) with data selection of year 2007 and 2008 and delete the respective data from X1 and X2.
    2. Is it possible to do the above said requirement? Regarding the special function of the marker update in inventory cubes and the
        calculates key figures?
I have some ideas that we can't delete data in Inventory cube due to the market update concept.
Any inputs and suggestions from your side will be really helupful.
    Regards,
    Kanagaraj.S

u can archive the dormant data
i.e u can say unused data
    create ur report
if u again want ur data back then again reload the data from the sap work directory to the same infocube

  • Inventory cube 0IC_C03 ,Stock on particular date

    Hi All,
We are trying to get the stock on a particular date using cube 0IC_C03 ,but we are unable to get the total stock on a given date.
1)Ex: I want stock on 01.12.2009 ,but in the query output I am getting  null values.
I am only getting the total stock quantity on the loaded date for ex:04.01.2010(which is my data loading date in to the cube).
2)And when we restrict 0calday with <=01.12.2009 ,i have to get the total stock till 01.12.2009
    Thanks&regards,

    Hi,
    Check

1)Ex: I want stock on 01.12.2009 ,but in the query output I am getting null values.
I am only getting the total stock quantity on the loaded date for ex:04.01.2010(which is my data loading date in to the cube).
For 2LIS_03_BX it will give the extracted date only
2)And when we restrict 0calday with <=01.12.2009 ,i have to get the total stock till 01.12.2009
    try with below options.
    Use :
    0VALSTCKVAL   " for Value
    0VALSTCKQTY   " for Qty
    0CALMONTH        " for Month
Use the above combinations in New Selections in columns and go it.
    For Qty Opening:
New Selection bad drag abd drop following things
    0VALSTCKQTY   " for Qty
0CALMONTH        " for Month and restrict with less then or equalto option variable (single value, user input)  and set the offeset
value = -1 bcoz if user will give 12.2009 , so it will display 11.2009 closing stock, this is opening for 12.2009.
    For Qty Closing:
New Selection bad drag abd drop following things
    0VALSTCKQTY   " for Qty
0CALMONTH        " for Month and restrict with less then or equalto option variable (single value, user input) .
In the same way build for Value and other Keyfigures on 0IC_C03.
    And
    Drag & drop
    0MATERAIL
0PLANT  " Give some Input Variable.
    See the steps.

If it is BI 7 then for BX in in DTP in Extraction Tab you need to select Extacrion mode = NON-Cumulative option.

  • Non-cumulative Inventory cube to snapshot Inventory cube scenario

We currently have a non-cumulative Inventory cube in production system and the stock values match to ECC data. Now we want to build a snapshot cube (to improve query performance) and the question is can we use the current cube (non-cumulative) as data source for the new snapshot cube or do we need to load it from ECC? Is there any special handling needed if it is loaded from current cube?
    Thanks!

    Hi,
You can use the existing cube, but make sure that you have implemented the OSS Note 1426533 before doing this.

  • Inventory Cube Loading - Questions....

This is the process I intend to follow to load InfoCube 0IC_C03 and the questions therein. I have the "how to handle inventory scenarios" document, so please don't suggest I read that.
    1A) Delete Set-up tables for application 03
    1B) Lock Users
1C) Flush LBWQ and delete entries in RSA7 related to application 03 (optional - only if needed)
2A) Fill set up tables for 2LIS_03_BX. Do Full load into BW Inventory Cube with "generate initial status" in InfoPackage.
2B) Compress request with a marker update
3A) Fill set up table for 2LIS_03_BF with posting date 01/01/2006 to 12/31/2007 (Historical) and load to Inventory Cube with a full update
QUESTION1: Does this need a marker update?
QUESTION2: Is this a good strategy  - do movement documents that old get updated once posted?
QUESTION3: Does the posting dates restriction depend on on how far back in history we want to go and look at stock values?
3B) Fill set up table for 2LIS_03_BF with posting date 01/01/2008 to 9/9/999  (Current) and load to Inventory Cube with a delta init with data transfer.
3C) Compress load in 3B without a marker update
4A) Fill set up table for 2LIS_03_UM  and load to Inventory Cube with a delta init
4B) Compress load in 4A without a marker update
QUESTION4: How should we select the posting date criteria? Do I need to load from 01/01/2006 to 9/9/9999 since that's the range used for BF?
    5) Start V3 update jobs via Job Control
    6) Intiate subsequent delta loads from BF and UM and compress with marker update
QUESTION 5: Is the sequence of loading BX first, then BF and UM fixed? or can I do BF and then BX, UM
QUESTION 6: Any tips on minimizing downtime in this particular scenario? Please don't suggest generic steps. If you can suggest something specific to this situation, that'd be great.
I hope you can help with the 6 questions I asked above.
    Regards,
    Anita S.

    Hi Anita,
Please find my answers below. I have worked enough with this scenario and hence feel that these would be worth considering for your scenario.
3A) Fill set up table for 2LIS_03_BF with posting date 01/01/2006 to 12/31/2007 (Historical) and load to Inventory Cube with a full update
QUESTION1: Does this need a marker update?
In this step we dont need marker update while compressing.
QUESTION2: Is this a good strategy - do movement documents that old get updated once posted?
I am able to get the question quite clearly.
QUESTION3: Does the posting dates restriction depend on on how far back in history we want to go and look at stock values?
Yes. We need to start from latest and then go back as backwards as we want to see the stock values. This holds true when we are using non cumulative key figures
4B) Compress load in 4A without a marker update
QUESTION4: How should we select the posting date criteria? Do I need to load from 01/01/2006 to 9/9/9999 since that's the range used for BF?
No need to provide any selection criteria for UM while loading to BW, as this would fetch the same data filled in setup of revaluations.Unless you are looking for only some history other wise you can fill that for company code list and bring the whole data to BW  by a single full load, as the data wont be that huge as compared to BF
    6) Intiate subsequent delta loads from BF and UM and compress with marker update
QUESTION 5: Is the sequence of loading BX first, then BF and UM fixed? or can I do BF and then BX, UM
This is fixed in terms of compression with marker updates.
QUESTION 6: Any tips on minimizing downtime in this particular scenario? Please don't suggest generic steps. If you can suggest something specific to this situation, that'd be great.
*Yes. Most of time consuming activity is for filling BF history. Negligable for BX and UM comparitively.
Either try having multiple BF selective setup filling based on posting date based on available background processes or filli open months setup during downtime and rest history once you unlock the system for postings. The reason for this being we dont expect any posting for history*
Feel free to ask any further questions about this.

  • Query performance on Inventory Cube

    Hi All,
I have a query on Inventory Cube with non cumulative key figures, when I ran a query with them its taking 60 to 70 minutes. When I ran the same query by removing non cumulatives its displaing results in 25 seconds. Is there any way we can improve query performance which is effected  by non cumulative keyfigures.
I have checked the performance related tools like RSRV on cube and master data no errors, in RSRT> execute debug the more time query consumes in data manager, ST03> DB and data manager time and also unassigned time is more.
I know that query consumes time because of non cumulative keyfigures as it need to perform calculations on fly but its taking lot more than that. I apprecate your inputs to this query in advance.
      I will reward points.
    Regards
    Satish Reddy

    Hi Anil,
Its nice to see you. We have compressed the cube with marker update and we are using only two infosources to the cube(BF and UM). As there are 150 queries on that cube I don't want to build aggregate especially for that query. I also treid DB stats refresh, there is a process chain to delete and recreate indexes, analysed cube and master data in RSRV etc. it didn't really helped me. Would you please suggest any good solution for this. I apprecaite it in advance.
When i check in Application log in Cube Manage it is displayed that Mass Upsert of Markers update so I assumed that markers are updated.

  • Inventory cube non cumulative KF displaying incorrectly.

    Hi
I have created a inventory cube which is a copy of 0IC_C03, fed from a DSO which has the all the Material documents.
I have intitialised using the BX extraxctor to the cube, then loading data from r/3 via the dso. Have MP on top of inventory and revaluation cube.
Due to an error in the code logic i had to drop the cube and reload the data from the BX PSA and subsequently the DSO.
my problem started then, the cumulative key figure have gone haywire ie they the balance display rubbish data. the data loaded into the cube is correct
also if I delete the latest request and reload the request, then the  KF display correctly. strange!
I also the same problem for value as i have a revaluation cube. the inventory values are wrong, when i do a list cube from the MP all is ok.
i checked the validity slice rsdv, it is ok.
i also only have 0calday as the non cumulative setting.
Another thing i noticed was if filter the material by one plant then i get the correct value, if i try to display all plants then it all the balances go incorrect.
also if i see the balances by month only the latest month is incorrect.
if you need more info please feel free to ask.
appreciate if some can propose a solution

    Hi Lawrence,
SAP suggests to upload non-cumulatives NEVER from a DSO but from the PSA in parallel to DSO and Cube.

  • Need help with PC build for use with Photoshop CS4 Extended - Have I made the right choices?

    Hello,
I'm very new to the inner workings of a PC...this will be first time building one from scratch.  I know enough to be dangerous but not enough to be confident.  I will use the PC primarily for editing, secondarily for iTunes management.  I've heard that I should have, at the very least, an SSD for PS, other apps and the O/S.  I'll also have a hard drive for data storage.  Do I need yet another SSD for scratch?  If so, any recs for one?  Also, my current build (which does not include any SSDs) is about $800.  What can I skinny down, without sacrificing a huge amount of speed/performance?  I am looking for major guidance here...I'm ready to order, but I keep second-guessing my choices.  I want to make sure I get this right the first time around.  I want this machine to last me a good long while.  Any help at all will be HUGELY appreciated!

Make sure the motherboard is the third revision as the earlier two had problems with the i5-2500K (Sandy Bridge)
I prefer Asus motherboards but doesn't mean the Gigabyte is a problem. (I note that it scored 4 eggs...)
May not make a difference in Photoshop but for Premiere the Geforce video cards with GDDR5 are preferred.
The LiteOn iHas 224 does lightscribe which is a nice touch for clients/gifts.
There is no room to save as I would consider your build minimum specs for a nice photoshop experience.
As for SSD drives...my research of reviews and articles makes me feel the technology is not ready for mission critical work. So if you are running a business then I recommend not using SSD drives. Rather look at Raptor 10,000 rpm drive for Windows and Photoshop and use the Spinpoint for storage. If not business then I've read the intel x25 SSD drives are solid but I have no personal experience with them.

  • Inventory data load from Inventory Cube to another Copy Cube

    Hello Experts,
I am trying to load Inventory data from the Inventory cube(say YCINV) to a copy cube  say YCOPY_CINV(copy of Inventory cube), but the results appear inconsistant when I compare the reports on these 2 cubes. I am trying to populate a fiield in copy cube so that I can populate the same data back to the original cube with the new field in it, I am doing this reload back and forth for historical data purpose only.
I have seen lot of posts as how to run the setups for Inventory data, but my case does not need to perform set up runs.
Does the note 1426533 solve the issue of loading from one cube to another ? we are on SAP BI 7.01 with SP 06 ,but the note specifies SP 07 ?
I have tried note 375098 to see if it works, but I do not see the options as mentioned from  step "Using DTP (BW 7.x)" in BI to perform this note
Please advise on whether to go with implementing note 1426533 or is there any other way to load inventory data from one cube to other.
    Regards,
    JB

    Hi Luis,
    Thanks for your reply,
I do not see any setting like Intial stock in DTP except "initial non-cumulative for non- cumulative". I did try using the option "initial non-cumulative for non- cumulative" ,but the results still do not match with the inventory cube data.I do not see the check box for marker in the copy cube (under roll up tab). Please let me know if we can really implement this solution ,i.e. copying from inventory cube to copy cube and then re-loading it back to inventory cube for historical data. Currenlty, I am comparing the queries on these 2 cubes, if the data matches then I can go  ahead and implement it in Production, other wise it would not be wise to do so .

  • Loading to inventory cube - LBWQ ( entry MCEX03 missing )

    Dear Guru's,
My main idea is to store only last 1 years of data in inventory cube .
I do not want to load the movements & revaluation data from ECC but reconstruct.
I have successfully  initialized  only 2LIS_03_BX and filled the set up table and further loaded in to BW.
For movements data i wanted to recontruct , so i reconstructed .
BW --> opening stock is correct.when compared with MB5B
Movements ( some data missing ) -- If i check for the historical stock , results does not tally.
I further checked and  found some transactions missing in the cube  ( when compared to MB51 movements list )
I tried to bring in these into BW using full load of 2LIS_03_BF.
    it fetched 0 records.
I deleted the initialization request from info package in BW for 2lis_03_bf earlier
    RSA3 --> also 0 records.
LBWE --> Job control scheduled to run every 1 hour.
    RSA7 --> found job scheduled.
LBWQ -->  no entry for MCEX03
I have run init with out data transfer and then tried to load full . still 0 records .
    Also at rsa3 0 records.
Please help to advise how i can fetch these missing movements / records in to BW
    Thanks & regards,
    Sudhir.

    Hello Janardhan,
When ever a full update is complete, the next records  i.e. delta records moves into the Extractor Queue  (LBWQ ) and after this moves through Scheduled process in delta Queue ( RSA7) .
The role of Setup tables is limited when you need the full extraction from the Application tables . Setup tables are restructuring tables .. basically are pooled tables which are introduced in the LO Extraction to ease up the extraction . Here System doesn't need to look for the Application table for data , this saves down time and consistency of records.
From Reconstruction it is relevant in 3x. Could you please elaborate what you tried to do..!
You can refer to the below links

    Hope this helps...!

  • Inventory Cube -

    Hi All,
I have a need for a customized inventory cube, and am planning to use BX, BF and UM extractors into the same cube. I will enhance all the 3 extractors where they have all the characteristics needed for my cube and queries to match my requirements.
    I have the following questions.
    1. Some of my reports will require to report weekly and some monthly and some adhoc or when ever they want to see (like daily). So we will be updating the cube every night. Since it gets loaded every night if I left 'No marker Update' unchecked, but COMPRESS the cube after daily load how the data will be kept in the cube? and the impact on the queries.
    2. How to decide which key figure should be non-cumulative. I have beginning balance, receipts, issues adjustments and turn rate for each week. But I believe except beg balance rest of the key figures can be cumulative.
If you have done inventory please advice.
    Thanks,
    Alex.

    Alex,
If I define the amount as non-cumulative (what ever the KYF) and gets calculated during the query run time and based on the time requested in the query (cal week, calmonth etc) the value will be internally calculated and displayed in the query. is this a valid stament?
--> Yes. That is the advantage of Non-Cumulative keyfigures.
--> Inventory CUBE: 0IC_C03 contains calday, week, month. Based on user selection it displays balances for day level or week level or monthe level. No need to do any speicific calculation at updaterules or transformation level.
--> Just do delta's daily and compress with marker update(means no check box).

  • Inventory cube 0CP_IC_C1 enhancement

    Hi,
I want to enhance the Inventory cube 0CP_IC_C1 inorder to get the Purchasing details in to the inventory cube. Because i need the PO details pertaining to the particular Good Receipt values.
Is there any way to get the PO details based on the GR values or can i go ahead and enhance the Inventory cube to get the PO Details.
    Please advise.
    Thanks,
    Sheshu

Remember thst if yo want the MM Stock related for materials for each 0PLANT you must use the infocube 0IC_C03 not the 0CP_IC_C1.
Check this document in order to see if the 0IC_C03 infocube is useful for you...

  • Compression to inventory cube

    Hi
I am  initializing data to Inventory cube (with cumulative key figures) from
    data sources 2lis_03_bx,  2lis_03_bf, 2lis_03_UM.
Could any body explain how to compress cube once data is loaded. I mean like non- cumulative cube do i need to use marker update and not marker update?
if yes whice data sources i need to use marker update.
    Regards.
    Sarath

Load opening Balance with 2LIS_03_BX. Compress with marker update(mandatory).
But your BI still does not know how this stock was arrived at, it needs the historical movements, should you need to know some stock value prior to initialization.
So you do a statistical setup for 2LIS_03_BF and bring this data to BW by an INIT. Now these movements are already accounted for, they reflect the current stock(marker) - means MARKER UPDATE is NOT required. Hence, when compressing historical data with 2LIS_03_BF, you check the "NO MARKER UPDATE" box. Because, if you update marker, it will ruin you current stock figure.
After this you open you OLTP system to users, they post new movements. You now load these to BI using BF datasource as delta. When compressing these, marker should be updated to reflect the new movements. Hence, you uncheck the flag "NO MARKER UPDATE". For subsequent loads too, this checkbox remains unchecked.
2LIS_03_UM does not deal with quantities, only valuations, compress it in the same way as you do for 2LIS_03_BF.
I hope this answers your question.

  • Aggregates for inventory cube

    hello
Can I use aggreagates for inventory cube (non-cumulative)?
    thanks

    Hi,
yes, you can suggest the aggregate for non cumulative (inventory cube) but with special care of time char.  You need to include all time char in aggregates.
also see the help doc for details on how to use aggregates with non cumulative data model.

  • No Selective Deletion on Inventory Cube 0IC_C03 via Calendar Day

    Hi,
I need to repair my Inventory Cube <b>0IC_C03</b> for a certain date. To do that, I need to perform a <i><b>Selective Deletion</b></i> on the Cube and perform a <b>FULL REPAIR REQUEST</b> limited on that day only.
But to my surprise, I could not find a Calendar Day entry in the "<i>DeletionSelection</i>".
Is there a workaround or do I need to switch on anything?
    --Jkyle

    Hi Roberto,
You are too humble! Everybody knows you are the <b>ONE</b>
(he heh from the <b>MATRIX</b> movie)
Anyway, I dont think Export Datasource would help. As you may know, Inventory Cube <b>0IC_C03</b> uses 2LIS_03_BX and 2LIS_03_BF data sources. This <b>CUBE</b> is somehow special.
To cut this problem short, I'll go straight to the point. <i>How could I perform INIT via 2LIS_03_BX and 2LIS_03_BF w/o R/3 downtime at all</i>? The reason I came to this <i>Selective Deletion</i> thing is to patch up the mess the INIT would introduce when there are users around by using a REPAIR FULL REQUEST only for that single day...
I hope you get what I mean...
    Thanks!
