Consume Webservices with AXIS from within WebAS

I have problems invoking Web Services from within a bean running in WebAS. I am using Axis to create the calls to the WebServices.
From a WebService_A running on WebAS 6.4 I want to call WebServices both running on the same server (WebAS 6.4) and on different servers (e.g. Axis).
If in the endpoint I use the server machine's IP address, I get a server Timeout (502), if I use the machine's name I get the message "Unknown Host". Only when I call a WebService within WebAs and use "localhost" in the endpoint address, do I get the desired result.
I have already described the problem of calling a web service on a different server in the topic below,and have also tried to configure the servers proxy settings as described (which however showed no effect):
Proxy Settings for WebService invocation
As for the generation of proxies (Developer Studio generated deployable proxies) I do not know if they would work for calls on a different server (e.g. Axis), because Developer Studio for some reason would not generate the proxy for the Axis-generated WSDL file (no detailled error message). However I cannot use the generated proxies anyway, because I need to call on endpoints which are provided from a GUI, so I must do the calls by hand - or can I reset a proxy's endpoint?
Does anybody know which additional settings I have to set (Axis Engine, or in WebAS Administration?)
Every hint would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,
You don't need LCDS/FDS/BlazeDS to consume a web service. All
you need to do is to use the WebService component.
Hope this helps.

  • Webservice with axis given a wsdl

    Hi all,
    I am a newbie to webservices, I have been given a wsdl from another company and I have been asked to develop a webservice with it. I would like to know the steps which I would be requiring to take inorder to build a webservice with axis. any help would be appreciated.
    I want to know how should i proceed by looking at the wsdl. The wsdl given is quite huge and big. any starting point would be helpful.

    hey neeeded a help.. you had followed jacobs instructions.. in that it says and i quote !
    1. delete the plugin folder, restart Eclipse, update the lib in the plugin folder
    Copy 2 files: "backport-util-concurrent-3.1.jar" and "geronimo-stax-api_1.0_spec-1.0.1.jar" from <Axis2Home_Location>/lib folder to the <Eclipse_Location>\plugins\Axis2_Codegen_Wizard_1.3.0\lib folder.
    2. Edit the plugins.xml file in the <Eclipse_Location>\plugins\Axis2_Codegen_Wizard_1.3.0 folder as follows:
    <runtime>
    <library name="lib/geronimo-stax-api_1.0_spec-1.0.1.jar">
    <export name="*"/>
    </library>
    <library name="lib/backport-util-concurrent-3.1.jar">
    <export name="*"/>
    </library>
    </runtime>
    then copy the plugin folder to eclipse plugin
    restarted Eclipse and it worked.
    fix worked fine for me with Eclipse WTP (Europa) and jdk1.5.0_07
    Now my question is if i delete the plugin folder, and try to restart Eclipse, Eclipse does not start, it says missiing jars ..
    I am sorry to bother you with so much questions ..
    thanks 1

  • How to access HTTP Header from within Web service?

    Hello,
    Is there a way to access HTTP header variables like CONTENT_TYPE, CONTENT_LENGTH from within Web Logic web service.
    I was able to get the HTTP header variable from within Apache AXIS services by calling context.getProperty(HTTPConstants.MC_HTTP_SERVLETREQUEST
    How can i do this from weblogic web service.
    I need this to verify the client SSL_CLIENT_DN
    In access I can get the header as follows.
    HttpServletRequest req = (HttpServletRequest) context
              .getProperty(HTTPConstants.MC_HTTP_SERVLETREQUEST);
    clientID = req.getHeader("SSL_CLIENT_S_DN_Email");

  • Implementing a Webservice with AXIS, which calls CORBA objects

    Hi @all!
    First my aim is it to invoke a Webservice by a Client. As toolkit for developing this Webservice I use AXIS 1.0. This Webservice in turn should establish a CORBA connection to a third application.
    A direct access to the CORBA objects without the AXIS Webservice works fine. The Webservice without the Corba access is also running errorfree.
    When trying to implement a Webservice with AXIS, which calls CORBA objects following fault was generated:
    "internal Server Error(500)".
    Are there known problems with AXIS in conjunction with CORBA?

    Okay here's the error log file:
    1000 of lines, which aren't very helpful for me.
    As ORB I use JacORB.

  • Consume WebService with Assertion Ticket in CE 7.2

    Hi masters
    I am using netweaver ce 7.2 and the problem is that I just can consume webservices with User ID/Password (Basic), but I need to do that with something like Assertion Ticked (like RFC connections)

  • Problem using webservice method consumer proxy with rawdata from abap

    Hello Gurus,
    I am struggling with an error using a proxy consumer service from ABAP. The proxy was generated using the WSDL from the web service provider. For a specific method we need to send a rawstring as seen bellow:
    The file to be sent on this call is a ZIP file XAdES-BES signed and on BASE64. I’ve implemented the proper code to get the original file from local PC, and convert it to BASE64 before moving the content to the webservice structure and call the service proxy. At SOAMANAGER I also configured the webservice and the proper port with the WSDL:
    The communication is working properly but my problem is with the binary content. When calling the webservice the response is that the structure of the file is wrong. I found it very strange since I used a tiny SOAPUI project with the same WSDL and it worked with no problem.
    After debugging I could see that the content moved to the rawdata string before calling the proxy does not match the content that I can see from the call payload on web services util (srt_util)!
    So the sample code for my method:
    * get the file from the specified folder
    call function 'GUI_UPLOAD'
    exporting
    filename                = ld_zipfilename
    filetype                = 'BIN'
    importing
    filelength              = zip_size
    tables
    data_tab                = t_zip_data[]
    exceptions
    file_open_error         = 1
    file_read_error         = 2
    no_batch                = 3
    gui_refuse_filetransfer = 4
    invalid_type            = 5
    no_authority            = 6
    unknown_error           = 7
    bad_data_format         = 8
    header_not_allowed      = 9
    separator_not_allowed   = 10
    header_too_long         = 11
    unknown_dp_error        = 12
    access_denied           = 13
    dp_out_of_memory        = 14
    disk_full               = 15
    dp_timeout              = 16
    others                  = 17.
    * convert to string
    clear buffer_zip.
    call function 'SCMS_BINARY_TO_STRING'
    exporting
    input_length = zip_size
    importing
    text_buffer  = buffer_string
    tables
    binary_tab   = t_zip_data[]
    exceptions
    failed       = 1
    others       = 2.
    * encode base 64
    perform encode_base64 using buffer_string
    buffer_zip.
    form encode_base64 using in_string type string
    out_string type xstring.
    data: l_sbuff     type string.
    * convert the file to BASE64
    call method cl_http_utility=>encode_base64
    exporting
    unencoded = in_string
    receiving
    encoded   = l_sbuff.
    call function 'SCMS_STRING_TO_XSTRING'
    exporting
    text   = l_sbuff
    importing
    buffer = out_string
    exceptions
    failed = 1
    others = 2.
    endform.                    "encode_base64
    calling the webservice:
    l_input-xxxx-dokument = buffer_zip.
    try.
    call method l_proxy_test->webservice
    exporting
    input  = l_input
    importing
    output = l_output.
    catch cx_ai_soap_fault into lr_exc_soap_fault.
        endtry.
    From my understanding rawstring should be the same as ABAP xstring. If I debug the program and check the content of the  l_input-dokument before calling the proxy I get binary content: “Izw/eG1sIHZlcnNpb249IjEuMCIgZW5jb2Rpbmc9InV0Zi04Ij8…” that is in fact correct
    If I check the payload after call I can see that the binary content sent on the XML is not the same, in fact it is totally different: ”SXp3L2VHMXNJSFpsY25OcGIyNDlJakV1TUNJZ1pXNWpiMlJw…” !!
    I’ve tried a lot of different conversions, changed configuration on the communication, port, etc and nothing seems to work. I really can’t figure out why the binary content on the call is not the same as I move to the webservice structure.
    If I use the project from SOAP UI and send the proper binary content, that is “Izw/eG1sIHZlcnNpb249IjEuMCIgZW5jb2Rpbmc9InV0Zi04Ij8…” it works perfectly and the response is successfully.
    Anyone has a clue what could be causing this?
    Appreciate any kind of input.
    Regards,
    João Silva Pinto.

    Anyone? Any clue would be appreciated.

  • How to create a webservice with axis specific WSDL

    Hi all
    I want to know if anybosy can provide with me any documentation or information link from where i can find the way how to deploy webservices using axis specific WSDL(i mean WSDL is created using axis jars) on to the application server like Weblogic.
    I would like to know the following
    1 - How to create the web.xml
    2- How to create the deployment descriptor.
    3- How to pack the EAR or WAR file.
    Thanks and Regards
    Manoj

    You can't as File is nor serializable. It won't make sense as you would try to give a handle to a file on the server hosting the service to a remote system.
    Can you explain the use case in more detail?

  • PDF link of type "open a file" won't work from within web-browser

    Hi!
    I have a pdf-document in which I have created a link of the type "Open a file" ( in this case it is a word document, but the type of file doesn't matter).  When I click this link directly in Acrobat (Acrobat 9 Standard) it works just as excpected, that is, the document opens in word, after I've confirmed to Acrobat that it's ok to open.
    Opening the pdf itself from within a web-browser (IE8) is no problem. The document is opened by the Acrobat plug-in, inside the web-browser, as expected. The "hot-spot" to the link is also there, but when I click on the link, Acrobat (I think it's Acrobat and not the web-browser) asks me if it's ok to "Connect to file://///C:/testdoc.doc". And when I confirm this nothing happens (of course, since there are way too many slashes added after the "File:" beginning of the string.
    When I doublecheck the link in Acrobat Standard with the link tool, it look perfectly allright (under "Actions" I find the heading "Open a file" and under that the text "File: C\testdoc.doc").
    Anyone know where the problem lies?
    Thanks for any help!
    Regards

    I found mention online that linking to a zipped pdf file will cause the browser to download the PDF to the local user's PC where they can complete and submit the form (the mailto: command button works when the PDF is opened locally rather than within a browser window).  If there is a more "elegant" solution, I would be grateful for your advice.

  • Accessing JAXR registry from within web service

    Hi I'm having trouble accessing the registry from within a web service running in the tomcat server.
    The service should register with the registry at startup, but in the logs from the tomcat server I can see that a JAXRException is thrown:
    javax.xml.registry.JAXRException: Unable to create ConnectionFactory: Provider com.sun.xml.registry.common.ConnectionFactoryImpl not found
         at javax.xml.registry.ConnectionFactory.newInstance(Unknown Source)
    If I run the program from outside the tomcat server as a standalone program, it registers perfectly.
    I believe the problem is that it is missing one or more jars.
    I have tried to put the jaxr-jars under shared/libs but that hasn't solved the problem.
    Has anyone an idea of what I'm doing wrong?
    Help is greatly appreciated!
    / Bo

    Hi swatdba
    I know that the build file states alle the packages that I need, and as I said, if I run my program like the regular JAXR examples, it works fine.
    The thing is, the JAXR examples are not web services on their own. They are merely Java programs that access the registry.
    In my case I am building a web service that should run in the tomcat server. When it initialises, it should register with the register, and also be able to search for other web services.
    I thought this would be possible per default, ie. the jars that the web service needs should already be available in the tomcat server, but it doesn't work. I have tried to put the jars that I've found in the build script in the folder C:\jwsdp-1.3\shared\lib, which according to the tomcat manual should be used to put jars that you want to share between your web services.

  • Consuming Webservice in ESB from Flex

    First thing I would suggest is getting rid of the MXML tags and use the all actionscript method shown on my blog post, SAP Web Services in Flex Builder(http://blog.danmcweeney.com/57) [http://blog.danmcweeney.com/57].  This will make it easier to tell if you are having issues loading the WSDL or in crafting a correct SOAP request to the server.
    Also, please check that you can get to the WSDL in a browser and that it does not contain any Policy tags.

    I doubt there is any different in the approach for XI web services or ones generated from the Web Application server, I mean that is the point of SOAP right?

    Flex has no clue about what is "behind" the web service.  The crossdomain.xml only matters in regards to where the Flex SWF is being served from and where it calls web services from.
    Was the Flex App able to load the WSDL like my example?
    If so, can you create a XI web service that doesn't take an importing parameters and try and call that?
    Can you post the WSDL here so we can see it, to see if the XI server creates anything different?

  • Consuming WebService with 1-to-many relationship in one request, multi MBO?

    Hi
    I recently have started working on SUP. I was trying to create MBO from a webservice that provides me details of an Employee like name , age , ID and address. The employee can have many adress in this case. The webservice returns all the things in one request. I need to know how to create multiple MBO from this in one request. That is when I request to the webservice the name , age , ID to goto one table and addres should be populated in a separate table with ID as the realtionship parameter in both tables.
    I have connected to the webservice and can see data in preview. I had on demand cache policy with default parameter as employee ID, so it populated CDB with as many number of rows as the addres exists for the same employee which was not the desired result.
    Please let me know the most efficient way to do the same.
    Thanks
    Preksha

    I am able to consume the webservice and make multiple MBO with single call.

  • Making call from within web service to CRMOD

    I have a page success.jsp and inside success.jsp I am calling logon() method of Session.java which makes connection using HttpURLConnection.open()
    while it opens, it checks for DemoTrust.jks, although I tried disabling this, but I could not in the Application Settings, Default project settings. So, it did all that and somehow deployed the application on the server.
    but the page comes out and displays error. I have nothing in the success.jsp but a <%%> scriplet call to Session.java, it brings back nothing.... how to solve for this ?

  • Stacked Bar Chart with data from a Web Service

    Hi,
    I'm working on Dashboard Design (version 14.0.1.287) and I'm trying to create a chart linked to data from a webservice.
    With a Year in input, my webservice gives an Amount per Cities and Products
    Data retrieved look like this (Sheet1) :
    Paris          Tablets          45
    Paris          Laptops          12
    Paris          Cellulars          89
    New-York     Tablets          56
    New-York     Laptops          36
    New-York     Cellulars          1
    Londres          Tablets          150
    Londres          Laptops          3
    Londres          Cellulars          45
    Then I use a Pivot Table (created manually in Excel) looking like this (Sheet2) :
                   Tablets     Laptops     Cellulars
    Paris          45          12          89
    New-York     56          36          1
    Londres          150          3          45
    The chart is a Stacked Bar Chart plugged on the previous Pivot Table
    I create 3 series (one per Product), values (X) are set with Amount
    Category labels (Y) are set with Cities
    The goal is to have a dynamic chart (series and categories must update if a new city or a new product appears)
    So my question is : how can I set up the chart directly with data retrieved from webservice on Sheet1?
    Thx a lot !

    hi
    First thing , bad news if you are using .Net framework 1,
    just forget it, Flex 2 doesn't work well with framework 1, but 2nd,
    good news, if you want to use webservices, you'll have to make an
    array of objects on .Net Side and send it as objects to flex, i saw
    an example on the net but i can't seem to remember where, on the
    other hand,if you want to simply use, like i do, HTTPSERVICE its a
    very nice way to talk with .Net and you can see my example here
    http://flex1-for-dummies.blogspot.com
    By the way, in your code, you have a request tag , but you
    aren't requesting anything, because if you were you would have to
    make like this
    <mx:request>
    <Artist>{yourinputtext.text}</Artist>
    </mx:request>
    So if you don't have an input text, you don't need a request
    tag, only the operation.
