Consuming RESTful webservive in SAP PI 7.3.1

Dear all,
I am trying to implement a scenario to consume a synchronous RESTful webservice in PI following the blog
Consuming Synchronous RESTful Web Service with PI - I As mentioned in the blog, i have taken actual request message type structure at source end and dummy message type with a single node as target message in request mapping. However i am not clear with the design objects in ESR. Could anyone throw lights on this.
Thanks in advance.
Regards
Koti Reddy

Hi Koti,
In the blog, it says that the ESR objects are used to dynamically set the URL. The HTTP method used is GET and it gets its input from the source message so yes, dynamic configuration should be used.

Mark

  • Http 302 found response while consuming rest service

    Hi,
    When Sap Pi consumed rest service in receiver rest adpater, the response is as following:
    HTTP PUT call to http://host:port/backend/v2/test/test1  not successful. HTTP/1.1 302 Found
    when i tried  with rest client tool:
    firstly it said :
    Redirect  To: http://host:port/login.jsp with status: 302 HTTP/1.1 302 Found
    Redirection information has not been cached.
    the second is:
    Status
    200 OK Loading time: 22
    How can i redirect in sap PI?
    Thanks,
    Nurhan

    Can you please post some of the values you are using to connect to your Schema Service? (please redact the hostname URL for security purposes)
    You can also follow this tutorial:

    Format is usually:
    username used to sign up
    password giving at sign up

  • PI Consume Restful Webservices

    Hi,
    I have scenario in which PI needs to consume Restful webservices.
    I am looking at HTTP receiver adapter in which I want to set appropreate action (POST, GET, PUT or DELETE) based on mapping.
    For example I want to DELETE purcahse order TXU-19282. The http request that sends to Restful webservice looks like as follows.
    DELETE /restfulwebservice-war/poservice/TXU-19282 HTTP/1.0
    Connection: close
    Content-Type: text/xml
    Content-Length: 0
    Pragma: no-cache
    Now my question is how do I set set above information on HTTP receiver adapater. I looked at dynamic configuration and could find it useful.
    Also I am interested in finding how do I set both heder and Payload via mapping?
    Please let me know.
    Thank you,
    Balaji

    I dont think, there is an option to mention (POST, GET, PUT or DELETE) in HTTP reciever adapter.
    usually , it is with JDBC adapter.
    Lets wait for someone to answer as well. am not much sure.
    Also I am interested in finding how do I set both heder and Payload via mapping?
    Usually, header can be filled with XSL mapping. payload can also be filled with XSL or else with simple graphical mapping.

  • Consume Restful Web Services

    Hi,
    I have experience consuming Soap Web Services using utl_dbws.
    Our client provides various rest web services that we need to access within the database.
    We wan't a pure pl/sql solution without any additional java components.
    Does anyone have any information on how to consume REST web services?
    Thanks

    Check out APEX_WEB_SERVICE.

  • Does anyone know about theAdvantco and Kate REST adapters for SAP PI?

    I'm looking for any info I can find on a comparison between theAdvantco and Kate REST adapters for SAP PI?
    Has anyone used one or both before?
    Thanks,

    Hi Gabriel - I haven't worked on Ka Te's adapter but have a look at the below blog for the advantages of using Advantco's rest adapter...
    Integrating REST Services on PI
    I don't see any major differences but below something i noticed in the release notes of Advantco's adapter.
    Endorses Open Data Protocol (OData), a Web protocol for querying and updating data using Web technologies such as HTTP, Atom Publishing Protocol (AtomPub) and JSON to provide access to information from a variety of applications

  • How to consume REST WebService using Axis2 in Adobe CQ5.5

    Hi All,
        How to consume REST WebService using Axis2 in Adobe CQ5.5 ?
    Please help me with this.Thanks very much for your help.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Kumar

    We had enough trouble getting the "osgi compliant" Axis2 library to run in OSGI without spooky failures that we ended up re-writing everything utilizng JAX-WS. JAX-WS is present in the underlying JDK, you just need to create an OSGI fragment bundle that exposes these classes from the JDK. So basically a bundle that just exports:

  • WebDynpro Application issue consuming asynchronous webservice from SAP PI

    Hello experts i ask you for help thie following issue:
    i am developing a webdynpro application which is supposed to
    send some data from inputfields, and a file, in order to achieve it, that dynpro application is consuming an asyncrhronous webservice , this service is running in SAP Process integration .it uses only a component.
    Iam having serious problems at mapping the asynchronous PI web service model -->to -->controller >and then to->view
    since when i deploy the application into the  SAP portal´s application server, it runs , but  inputfields cannot be written.i dont mean unabled, what i mean, is. cannot write anything on them.ECXEPT the file upload UI element.
    I have reviewed sap help page, 3 sappress books, about dynpro, and the procedure i am performind is agree with them.
    endpoint test answers the folloiwng:
    Message Servlet is in Status OK
    Status information:

    what i did is the same as before(in another projects weh i used to import rfc models):
    1.- import webservice model,and add it to component
    2.-map web service model to controller context
    3.-map controller´s context to view context
    4.-create actions and methods
    5.-binding context controller to ui elements
    Dear experts, my questions are:
    What am i doing wrong?
    should i permorm another steps because the web service is in another application server (SAP PI)?
    Should i create a stand alone proxy and then access it from webdynpro?
    when i call the web service model excution it seems does not run, neverthless the invocation does not have any syntax error , what coul it be?
    Thanx in advance!!

    just for the sake of other who may hit this thread , the solution is to add sap-client=<clientno> in the url for wsdl

  • Error in Consuming webservice proxy in SAP

    Hi,
    I have a webservice which I am not able to consume in SAP. I get an error 'Cannot generate Proxy (object <attribute name="arrayType"> missing in WSDL, see long text').
    When i tried to search in SDN, I found a post which says that SAP doesnt support soapenc:Array types and it can be converted to corresponding Sequence. I went through the help link
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/43/ce993b45cb0a85e10000000a1553f6/frameset.htm
    which has a link which shows an example.
    Accordingly, I have changed mine from:
    - <schema targetNamespace="https://tserver.perfectcompliance.com/4DSOAP/LLX_Guardian" xmlns="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema" xmlns:SOAP-ENC="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/encoding/">
    - <complexType name="ArrayOfstring" xmlns:wsdl="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/wsdl/">
    - <complexContent>
    - <restriction base="SOAP-ENC:Array">
      <attribute ref="SOAP-ENC:arrayType" wsdl:arrayType="xsd:string[]" />
      </restriction>
      </complexContent>
      </complexType>
      </schema>
    To:
    - <schema targetNamespace="https://tserver.perfectcompliance.com/4DSOAP/LLX_Guardian" xmlns="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema" xmlns:SOAP-ENC="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/encoding/">
    - <complexType name="ArrayOfstring">
    - <sequence>
      <element name="item" type="xsd:string" minOccurs="0" maxOccurs="unbounded" />
      </sequence>
      </complexType>
      </schema>
    After doing the above changes, I am able to consume webservice and create a proxy but it's not working. When i execute any method which is using the Arrayofstring, it gives me an error:
    Complex Types cannot be parsed.
    Is my above change in XML wrong. Do I need to do any other changes.

    There are several ways of doing this:
    1) Publish your web service onto the Services Registry. If you are using CE 7.1 EHP1, you could refer to my blog for this: /people/romit.ghose2/blog/2008/11/21/using-a-simple-ui-to-publish-web-services-to-the-services-registry-in-ce-711
    If you are using a previous release, you would have to use the web services available for publishing.
    2) Directly enter the WSDL path and create a consumer proxy for it in NWDS.
    Hope this helps.

    Romit

  • Consuming RESTful web service in Apex app

    Hi,
    I have created a RESTful Web service through an Apex application (4.0) and published as a public web service. Can someone point me to an example of how to then consume that service in another Apex app? The output is straightforward XML that I can retrieve just by pointing the browser to the URL of the service created, but when I go to create the REST Web Reference for the receiving application, I am not sure what to put for the Response Xpath or Response Namespace. The service is meant to just return report records that were created in the REStful Web service with no input required.
    The service XML looks like this:
    <ROWSET>
    <ROW>
    <PROJ_ID>132</PROJ_ID>
    <PSL_NETID>xxxxxxxx</PSL_NETID>
    <PROJECT_TITLE>11g- Oracle Upgrade to RAC 11g</PROJECT_TITLE>
    <CUSTOMER>OIT</CUSTOMER>
    <DIVISION>EIS</DIVISION>
    </ROW>
    <ROW>
    <PROJ_ID>132</PROJ_ID>
    <PSL_NETID>xxxxxx</PSL_NETID>
    <PROJECT_TITLE>11g- Oracle Upgrade to RAC 11g</PROJECT_TITLE>
    <CUSTOMER>OIT</CUSTOMER>
    <DIVISION>CSS</DIVISION>
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks,

    Hi,
    I have made progress in this. I created the RESTful report service in an Apex 4.1 application. (previous attempt was with 4.0 version of Apex)
    I then created a separate application and created a RESTful web service reference that I tested and it was successful in bringing up XML. However in Apex 4.1, when I create a report following the Wizard for creating a report based on that Web service reference I get the error: ORA-31013: Invalid XPATH expression Which I don't know how to get past. The Xpath provided in the Web service reference test gave output below and brought back a result. There was no where during the Report creation to provide an Xpath. Am I missing something or is 4.1 not quite Web service ready??
    This is what I get from the test of the Web service reference in the Apex App from which I want to create a report: (I see in this XML the data I was expecting from the test of the RESTful web service but it looks like the output I get from the Web service test is more like the Report xml itself.)

  • Is there a way to consume REST based pdf web service in PeopleSoft

    We have a requirement to consume an pdf REST based web service in PeopleSoft and display the pdf file on browser. I have configured the Service & Service Operation in PeopleSoft.
    I have also confirmed the request is making to target server. Also when using curl, confirm the target web service is working  and response seems to be binary bytes representing pdf file.
    How can I consume this response from PeopleSoft message object. Tried using contentstring() and trying to do %response.write
       &getrpt_RESP = %IntBroker.SyncRequest(&MSG);
       &strresponse = &getrpt_RESP.GetContentString();
       %response.write(strresponse );
    /* Open a file.pdf* - to do/
    /* Write the response from message to file - to do */
    /*Use view attachment to open the file on browser - to do*/
    But this returns nothing on browser.
    If I had to copy pdf file, I normally would use something like
       Local JavaObject &in = CreateJavaObject("java.io.FileInputStream", &SrcFullPath);
       Local JavaObject &out = CreateJavaObject("java.io.FileOutputStream", &filepath);
       Local JavaObject &buf = CreateJavaArray("byte[]", 1024);
       Local number &byteCount = &in.read(&buf);
       While &byteCount > 0
          &out.write(&buf, 0, &byteCount);
          &byteCount = &in.read(&buf);
       End-While;
    But I am failing to find a way to copy the bytes from message to a file?
    Any help is appreciated!

    Integration Broker supports MTOM. You can find an example here: Sending and Receiving Binary Data.
    The alternative is to use Java to make the HTTP request. You can use HttpClient, as Sasank mentioned, if you don't mind managing jar dependencies. The alternative is to use HttpUrlConnection directly. Not easy in PeopleCode, but possible. If you are on PeopleTools 8.53, then you can script it in JavaScript and run it on the server through the Rhino JavaScript script engine manager included with Java 7 and part of PeopleTools 8.53+. I find this MUCH easier because you don't have to deal with reflection.
    Once you get the binary file, the next task is sending it to the client in binary format. %Response.WriteBinary works great, but requires you to start with binary data. I am only aware of one way to read binary data in PeopleCode that is suitable for %Response.WriteBinary and that is to select the binary data out of the database and into an Any variable. I have not figured out how to convert Java binary data into something suitable for PeopleCode's %Response.WriteBinary.
