Consuming Synchronous RESTful Web Service with PI

Dear experts,
i have a scenario for consuming RESTful web service.
i have followed all the steps showed in the following link for configuring my interface.
http://scn.sap.com/community/pi-and-soa-middleware/blog/2012/08/11/calling-synchronous-restful-web-service-with-pi--i
but still i am facing issues at the communication channel level, the trace of the communication channel is as follows

  • Protecting a REST web service with Policy Agent

    I have deployed a REST web service in Glassfish using Jersey Annotations. A UI in the same Glassfish instance is protected by a policy agent that forces users through a login page. I would like to protect the REST web service with BASIC Authentication using the same policy agent. Is this possible? Is there supporting documentation?

    Hi Daniel,
    When you publish a message through Rest, hope your Restful service will receive/process the posted message?
    So
    YourBizTalk -->(Post Message to)-->RestFulService
    From the error message, "the published message could not be routed because no subscribers were found.", it seems like the this Restful service is a
    wrapper (or service interface) for BizTalk at client end( where message has been posted thru Rest) and actual posted message is “processed” by BizTalk and the error "" is from BizTalk "after" Rest. This message says the message you posted
    through rest is not found subscription at their end.
    So
    YourBizTalk -->(Post Message to)-->RestFulService -->Clients'BizTalk.
    Here problem is at Clients'BizTalk as shown where the posted message to their BizTalk is not processed because no subscription has been found.

  • Regarding RESTful WEB SERVICES with SPRING MVC Framework

    Hi,
    Can anyone explain me about RESTful WEB SERVICES with SPRING MVC Framework .
    It is urgent for me.
    Thanks
    Venkat Jalli

    Hi Manoj,
    I am also new to Spring MVC portlet. But, I tried to see the difference between sample spring portlet and your code below. Issue that I can see is, in your code, you have not mapped your servlet container with portlet application. So, in theory, your servlet containder do not know that you have a servlet. Let me try to explain from sample portlet,
    In portlet.xml, they have something like below:-
    <portlet-name>swf-booking-mvc</portlet-name>
    <display-name>Spring Webflow Booking MVC</display-name>
    <portlet-class>org.springframework.web.portlet.DispatcherPortlet</portlet-class>
    And in web.xml, they have below:-
    <servlet-name>swf-booking-mvc</servlet-name>
    <servlet-class>org.apache.pluto.core.PortletServlet</servlet-class>
    <init-param>
    <param-name>portlet-name</param-name>
    <param-value>swf-booking-mvc</param-value>
    </init-param>
    <load-on-startup>1</load-on-startup>
    This web.xml is for Pluto portlet container and there will something similar for Weblogic portal as well that I am trying to figure out :(
    Thanks,

  • Help: consuming an external web service with user name token

    Hello Together!
    I need to consume an external web service secured with WS-UserNameToken. The way, how did I do it:
    1. I generated a web service consumer (proxy) in SE80 from the wsdl file
    2. I created logical port for the consumer in SOAMANAGER
    3. I created security profile in WSSPROFILE with telpmate SET_USERNAME and assigned it to consumer operation in LPCONFIG  (I use LPCONFIG, because I didn't find any way to do it in SOAMANAGER)
    3. I called the web service and got the error back:  session token is missing or invalid or has inspired
    My questions are:
    1. is this possible to consume an external webservice in SAP, which is secured with WS-Usernametoken?
    2. do I need therefore any settings in java stack? do I need java stack in general?
    3. Is this any way to configure the consumer without writing programs, which set header parameter manually?
    4. if the answer on the third question is no, do you have any examples, how to implement session management in report? (I mean sending session id and checking the validaty of id)
    I appriciate any help of you!
    best regards Anna

    Hi,
    it should be possible to use WS-UserNameToken for consuming web service. It should be available on AS BAP 7.0 and higher. This profile should be under category Document authentication. You can try to dump a message send from SAP to see what is going out of SAP. This should be supported in ABAP so you don't need a Java stack. What exactly do you want to configure? Do you want to just set user name and password for that service which will be used for any calls of that proxy?
    Cheers

  • URGENT: Rest web service with get method works fine in browser but not with java client(Android)

    Hi ,
    I have created one REST web service which accepts two parameters send back JSON results.
    I tested the it in browser with URL as http://+Inteernal server+/ords/utimes/login_info?p1=+first_param+&p2=+second_para+
    Web service URL :  http://+Inteernal server+/ords/utimes/login_info?p1={p1}&p2={p2}
    But when java team wants to access it from java code it gives error as "400- Bad Request".
    one more IMP thing : when I test it in RESTful web service by using "set bind variable" , it only set value of first parameter.
    APEX version : 4.2

    ords : 2.0.8

  • Error in REST Web Service with Output Format as Text

    Hi All,
    I am referencing a REST web service, and can successfully connect to it and retrieve results with the Output Format set to XML.
    I don't need the individual node values, I just want to capture the entire XML as a string, and populate a table column with it.
    When I create a new Rest web service reference, with Output Format set to Text, and then create a form/report to run it, I get the following error when I click 'Submit':
    ORA-06550: line 1, column 63: PLS-00103: Encountered the symbol "end-of-file" when expecting one of the following: ( - + case mod new not null others avg count current exists max min prior sql stddev sum variance execute forall merge time timestamp interval date pipe
         Error      Error sending request.
    There are control characters in the XML, but surely this is handled by Apex, so I'm not sure what the problem is here.
    Any ideas most welcome.
    Thanks,
    Rhodri

    Rhodri:
    Application Express expects text response to actually be text response, delimited by other characters denoting a new value, and a new record set. You should leave the response as XML. The XML document will be stored in the xmltype01 column of the collection you specify. You can then convert that xmltype01 column to a clob if you like using .toClobVal().

  • Create RESTful web service with CSV format (bug??)

    Hi All:
    I am using APEX 4.2.2 with APEX listener 2.0.2.
    I have create a RESTful web service to retreieve some data from a table. The format is "CSV" (the other option is JSON, which I am not faimilar with).
    then I tested and it generate with below sample data.
    United States,"Zhang, Kevin",IT
    Above data means: Country, fullname, department
    As you can see value of fullname is double-quoted and also contains a comma (,) in it.
    Then I create a web service reference in a test application. Then I create a a form and report on web service.
    The problem is the fullname. The output looks like below:
    Country                 fullname                    Department
    United States        "Zhang                      IT
    As you can see, APEX is not able to get fullname correctly.
    Anyone see this issue and how to resolve it?
    Thanks!
    Kevin

    Kevin,
    I'm not sure I would classify it as a bug so much as an enhancement. We need the ability to set the "Text qualifier" as one can from Excel. This would allow the above to be seen a single a single field and, then, to do what you want. However, as I'm sure you realize, this just doesn't exist at the moment.
    So; you could store the first and last names in separate fields in the table (don't forget that you could use virtual columns for this purpose) or simply alter your query to pull them out as if they were separate fields, i.e. use SubStr and InStr.
    If you simply must see them in this format when the CSV is opened, you could create a formula in Excel to do this for you.

  • Consume an external web service with an ABAP proxy

    Hello,
    I'm working on creating an ABAP Proxy to consume my first web service.  In searching SCN I haven't found a comprehensive list of steps to complete the process, but I have found information on generating a proxy from a WSDL and creating a logical port.
    My first issue arises when I go to SPROXY to generate a proxy from a WSDL, I see the message 'Local objects only (No Connection to ESR)', and I have no ability to 'create'.  The Enterprise Service Repository seems to be the new name for the Integration Repository, if that helps.  Do I need the ESR installed to create a proxy?
    A follow-on question, assuming I do need the ESR, would be what do I do with it?  It appears to serve the purpose of design for interfaces, messages, and mapping, but I thought that happened when I created a proxy in SPROXY.
    We're on ECC 6.0, with a 702 / 0007 basis release.  I appreciate and light you can shed on the topic.
    Thanks

    ESR is part of the PI system, and it is where all interfaces details are stored.You could create an ABAP Proxy from a pre-defined WDSL yet stored in PI as part of some communication, but you can also import directly a WSDL from a local file or even from a URL.
    ABAP proxy generates a proxy class and a set of abap structures , fields and data elements. Simply by filling the data and call a method in the proxy class (depends of syncrhonization a different method name) you can consume your service. No PI is needed if you use the local option.
    There is a very good Tutorial from Thomas Jung. I'll try to find it.

  • Problem with RESTful web service with header value

    Hi,
    I am on Apex 4.2.2 and Listener 2.1 and the listener is on WEblogic.
    I succeeded to get a RESTful web service working in an application with no header to obtain a full set of data. The data set is very large, so I am now just trying to set up a web service to get a set of data based on a student ID.
    I followed the examples shown in the RESTful web service module of SQL Workshop and set up a handler of this type:
    https://ourweblogicserver/apex/bnr/ace/students/course_grades/{stid}
    The test for this handler succeeded both for JSON output and CSV output in the Workshop test environment.
    However, when I try it from a Web Service Reference that I created for my application following what looked like the same approach used on the example video, I get NO data back. If I put a 'stid' directly into a URL of a web browser and do the basic authentication I get the data!!
    This is what I have for the Web service reference:
    https://ourweblogicserver/apex/bnr/ace/students/course_grades/{stid}
    Basic auth set to Yes -- and this is working -- I am able to authenticate
    HTTP method Get
    output format Text
    no response Xpath
    no response namespace
    defaults for new record and parameter delimiter
    NO REST input parameters
    Output set for all the fields in the data set queried (same set of data as in my rest service which does not have any http header)
    REST HTTP Header : Name stid
    I there something I am missing. I am not sure how to troubleshoot this further.
    Pat

    Hi,
    I have posted a simple application with the RESTful reference:
    http://apex.oracle.com/pls/apex/f?p=13758
    I can give you full privileges on this so you can look at the WEB service reference. Shall I send to you separately for login user?
    It is using the RESTful service: http://apex.oracle.com/pls/apex/nd_pat_miller/demo/employee/{deptno}
    This RESTful service tests fine when I test from within the RESTful web service module of the Workspace.
    I based this on the Video demo tutorial for RESTful web service that Oracle published for 4.2 release. The video seemed to exclude the {deptno} in the URL but when I try that, it doesn't work either.
    This is the error I am getting when I run this on my Apex environment: (it, of course, will not run the web service in the apex.oracle.com environment)
    class="statusMessage">Bad Request</span>
    </h3>
    </div>
    </div>
    <div id="xWhiteContentContainer" class="xContentWide">

  • Consuming an external web service with WAS 6.40

    Hi all,
    I know this thread isn’t 100% XI forum related, my apologies for that. However, I believe somebody here has experience with this subject.
    I’m trying to consume an external web service through WAS 6.40 with se80. When I try to create my proxy object <u>“package Choose Create > Enterprise Service / Web Service > Proxy Object > URL type</u>”, I receive an error message (SPRX084) -> <i>During proxy generation, an interface description in WSDL format is fetched from the integration builder or from another source and interpreted. This WSDL document must describe the whole interface correctly.</i>
    I don’t have sure, but it seams something within WSDL object/element. Nevertheless, these external web services are working well with other third party client applications, why SAP WAS can’t take this WSDL?
    Anyone has faced an issue like this one?
    Thanks in advance,
    Ricardo.

    Hi,
    some tools do not generate WSDLs correcty (not with all the standards
    or with obsolete parts) and then in ABAP you cannot generate a proxy from it
    you should be able to see the some more details in disgnosis section
    sometimes you just have to change one or two things in the WSDL
    and it will be ok for WAS but you need to find the exect cause
    of the error - it can be done by debugging

  • Consume JSON rest web services

    Hi experts,
         I have a requirement to Consume rest web services from a URL, which is in JSON format. Help me out to make it.
    Thanks
    ~Faseeh

    Hi Faseeh,
    As Anthony has mentioned earlier, you need to specify the accept header as application/json. The Business Intelligence platform RESTful web service SDK also supports providing responses in JSON format. Please refer to the document links which Ludek has pointed out. There are 2 formats which are supported - XML (BIP SDK follows ATOM specification) and JSON.
    For eg. for a particular request, below are the responses in 2 formats:
    XML format:
    <entry xmlns="http://www.w3.org/2005/Atom">
    <title type="text">5432</title>

    Could anybody guide me in this.
    Thanks in advance.

    I had this error again so I thought I would post my solution:
    The issue is SAP needs to know the certificates being used by the web site being called.  These certificates are automatically installed in your browser but need to be manually installed in SAP.  This is what I did:
    How to find/install new certificates
    Make sure you run Internet Explorer as an Administrator so you can export the certificates
    Go to the web site that SAP is trying to call in Internet Explorer
    Double click on the lock in the address bar
    View certificates
    Find the certificates that are being used
    Tools --> Internet Options --> Content --> Certificates
    Click on the “Trusted Root Certification Authorities” tab
    Find the certificate identified in step iii
    Export as a CER certificate
    Click on the “Intermediate Certification Authorities” tab
    Find the certificate identified in step iii
    Export as a CER certificate
    Go to STRUST in SAP
    Import the Certificates in the “Anonymous” or “Standard” SSL client
    Save
    RESTART the ICM via t-code SMICM  <-- Critical!!!

  • How to consume Google REST web service

    Dear All,
    I have a task to embed Google Maps into web dynpro and/or CRM WebUI.
    There is no problem with embedding only map with route on it, but I need also calculated distance.
    In WebDynpro I've just created iFrame CHIP component which targets: http://maps.google.pl/maps?output=embed and two CHIPS with import parameters to give source and destination address. Route is calculated and drawn.
    Problem is with the distance, because the only way is to consume google web service (which is not SOAP, so I can't use service consumer). It must be something like web request.
    URL which I need to access is:
    http://maps.googleapis.com/maps/api/distancematrix/xml?&mode=driving&sensor=false&origins=Warsaw&destinations=Hamburg
    or
    http://maps.googleapis.com/maps/api/distancematrix/json?&mode=driving&sensor=false&origins=Warsaw&destinations=Hamburg
    where origins and destinations must be connected with import CHIPS. How to access such service in a proper way?
    Second thing is that I have to parse response.. it could be XML or JSON format. I just need summary distance. Any idea?
    Btw - I'm quite fresh with WebDynpro and WebUI, so I'm looking for good 'HOW TO' guide. Can you recommend something which is good to start with?
    thanks in advance

  • Consuming RESTful web service in Apex app

    Hi,
    I have created a RESTful Web service through an Apex application (4.0) and published as a public web service. Can someone point me to an example of how to then consume that service in another Apex app? The output is straightforward XML that I can retrieve just by pointing the browser to the URL of the service created, but when I go to create the REST Web Reference for the receiving application, I am not sure what to put for the Response Xpath or Response Namespace. The service is meant to just return report records that were created in the REStful Web service with no input required.
    The service XML looks like this:
    <ROWSET>
    <ROW>
    <PROJ_ID>132</PROJ_ID>
    <PSL_NETID>xxxxxxxx</PSL_NETID>
    <PROJECT_TITLE>11g- Oracle Upgrade to RAC 11g</PROJECT_TITLE>
    <CUSTOMER>OIT</CUSTOMER>
    <DIVISION>EIS</DIVISION>
    </ROW>
    <ROW>
    <PROJ_ID>132</PROJ_ID>
    <PSL_NETID>xxxxxx</PSL_NETID>
    <PROJECT_TITLE>11g- Oracle Upgrade to RAC 11g</PROJECT_TITLE>
    <CUSTOMER>OIT</CUSTOMER>
    <DIVISION>CSS</DIVISION>
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks,

    Hi,
    I have made progress in this. I created the RESTful report service in an Apex 4.1 application. (previous attempt was with 4.0 version of Apex)
    I then created a separate application and created a RESTful web service reference that I tested and it was successful in bringing up XML. However in Apex 4.1, when I create a report following the Wizard for creating a report based on that Web service reference I get the error: ORA-31013: Invalid XPATH expression Which I don't know how to get past. The Xpath provided in the Web service reference test gave output below and brought back a result. There was no where during the Report creation to provide an Xpath. Am I missing something or is 4.1 not quite Web service ready??
    This is what I get from the test of the Web service reference in the Apex App from which I want to create a report: (I see in this XML the data I was expecting from the test of the RESTful web service but it looks like the output I get from the Web service test is more like the Report xml itself.)

  • Biztalk 2010 - Consume Web Service with Certificate

    Hi
    I have to consume a java web service with Biztalk that requires authentication via a client certificate. Until now I have not been able to consume any web service where any kind of authentication was needed. Simple web services without authentication are
    no problem. Also using SoapUI works perfectly fine.
    I am generating the XSDs and the port binding with the WCF wizard in VS2010. I've read several comments that it's not possible to consume web services with the WCF-WSHttp adapter when the message format should be SOAP 1.1. Therefore I'm trying with the WCF-BasicHttp
    and WCF-Custom adapters, but I did not suceed in receiving a positive response yet.
    The web service I want to consume uses a client certificate (with a private key) and two root certificates. When I use the BasicHttp adapter I choose either 'Transport' or 'TransportWithMessageCredential' but none of them work. I also have to supply a client
    and a service certificate. I always use the one with the private key for the client but I'm not sure which one I have to use for the service. Is there a possibility that I have to provide both root certificates and if so, how can I achieve this?
    Hope the question makes sense somehow... thanks for any input.
    Error message that I receive currently is that the server needs a client certificate. However I attached it in the send port properties under the tab "Security" => mode "TransportWithMessageCredential".

    Adapter: WCF-Custom
    Binding: customBinding
    Cannot send pictures (yet).
