Content-Lengh Header Missing in Http Response

Hi folks,
          Our application uses JSPs and Servlets. To solve a TCP level problem, we would like to ensure that each response sent from the WebLogic Server includes a content-length header. All the pages are dynamic and therefore we cannot explicitly set the content-length.
          To ensure that WebLogic has the opportunity to set this header, we have increased the response buffer size by adding a <%@ page buffer="nK" %> header to our JSPs and a response.setBufferSize call to our Servlets. The responses still do not contain a content-length header.
          Is there anything else we can do to get WebLogic to set this header?
          Thanks in advance,
          Santosh

Anyway, this works for me:
try {
  URL u = new URL("http://localhost:9090/");
  HttpURLConnection c = (HttpURLConnection) u.openConnection();
  c.setInstanceFollowRedirects(false);
  c.connect();
  Map<String,List<String>> hs = c.getHeaderFields();
  for(Map.Entry e : hs.entrySet()) {
    System.out.println(e.getKey() + ": " + e.getValue());
} catch (Exception ex) {
  ex.printStackTrace();
}Where on localhost:9090 I have a server that will issue a redirect on / and content on anything else.
This code will issue the request, then read the response headers, including the Location: header.

  • Content-Length header not changed after url-rewrite... yields cut page.

    We use iPlanet6 ,service pack 4. The pages that return from the servlets are
    changed by the Application Server. The Application Server adds
    GXHC_GX_jst=901a10a6662d6164& to the all the URLs (which increase the
    page's size). The problem is that Application Server does not change the
    Content-Length header in the servlet response. This yields cut pages in the
    browser (IExplorer5).
    If we don't add the Content-Length header it works fine. (I.e., The pages
    are not cut.) Our problem is that we work with mobile devices that must have
    the Content-Length header to work properly.
    Q: Do you know if there is a patch that fix the problem?
    Q: Is it possible to configure the Application Server to prevent this
    url-rewrite?

    Hi guys,
    I would like to do url rewriting on our CF app but am worried I'll break something if I try and do it myself - is there anyone who would be interested in a bit of consultancy to help us achieve this?
    I want to turn http://www.allchichesterjobs.com/search-results.cfm?sector=21&q=part-time-jobs
    into http://www.allchichesterjobs.com/part-time-jobs
    I've tried this using IIS and URL Rewrite, when I browsed to http://www.allchichesterjobs.com/search-results.cfm?sector=21&q=part-time-jobs
    my browser was redirected to http://www.allchichesterjobs.com/part-time-jobs ok - but then I got a 404 error
    I'm wondering if I can pay someone to remote view my screen while we talk on skype and tell me what to do?
    Hope it's ok to post this sort of request on here
    Thanks very much indeed.

  • Missing Content-Length in HTTP response

    Hi All,
    I am experimenting with developing websevices using Sun Java Application Server. I have a working webservice using BEA Weblogic and I would like to have it ported to SUN. The application works like this: A client (Tuxedo application program) sends an XML document to the webservice, in response the websevice parse this document and based on certain fields it send back another document.
    The problem is that the SUN application does not return the content-length in its response and hence the requesting client rejects the message. Can anyone help?? Below is the response from both SUN and Weblogic:
    Weblogic

    Connection: close
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    env:Envalope xmls:env="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/"
    As can be seen the Content-Length is missing.
    Thanks for your help.

    Is there an option in Sun Java Application Server to include Content-Length in response to a client request? If not is it possible to generate this information from the service code?
    Thanks.

  • Unable to deserialize HTTP response content - SharePoint Designer Call Web Service Workflow Activity

    I am creating a workflow using SharePoint Designer 2013 and I'm using the call HTTP web service action.
    The web service call works (it is for a text messaging service, and I get the text message to my phone) however the workflow stops at this point with internal status "suspended" and gives the error message below when clicking on the "i"
    icon.
    I have tried setting the Accept and Content-Type request headers to "application/json; odata=verbose" (minus the quote marks) as other posts suggested but this doesn't make a difference (e.g. here: https://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/windowsapps/en-US/f0b18411-87d1-466b-aab0-1a0093605ed4/workflow-cannot-read-json-after-latest-sp15-patches?forum=sharepointdevelopment).
    I tried adding in the Content-Length header too but that made no difference.
    I tested calling another web service (https://sharepointurl/_api/contextinfo) and this works fine.
    Is there any way to get the workflow to accept this XML as the response? I don't actually really need anything out of the response content, but I do need the workflow to carry on after this step and carry out other activities after this call.

    We work with Microsoft Outlook, but I'm sure this could work with any email system.
    This error only came from external emails - what we did in the end is to get the third party to email a particular email (email1) in our company.  This is set up as a regular email account.  On this email put a forward rule to email2 for a particular sender/subject.  email2 is set up as POP3 so that XD1 can poll it - we also block any emails except from email1.
    Doing this accomplishes a couple of things:
    1)  We get around the error because XI polls email2 (which has adapter settings of IMAP4 so we can see MAIL adapter attributes ie. sender, subject etc...When we originally had as POP3 we were not able to see these - but setting as IMAP4 causes the error for external emailers)
    2) We have a SPAM filter - the XI email is clean from SPAM and the adapter will not have errors, as it only receives valid emails to process
    3) We have a central email (email1) which is used to archive all XI emails - we use this for all email scenarios (as we also save to folder and forward in the rule)
    Hope this helps your situation.

  • HTTP response contains unexpected content-type  (100.101)

    hello guys,
    I need your help on configuring adobe document services which runs on as java 7.3 with a netweaver 7.4 system.
    I didnt find documentation for NW7.4, I used this link:
    Adobe Document Services for Form Processing - SAP Library
    894009 - Adobe Document Services: Configuration
    according to note 944221 - Troubleshooting if problems occur in forms processing
    I ran:

    SYSTEM ERROR: SOAP Framework error: SOAP Runtime Exception:

    content-type  (100.101).
    I already check note 1587941 - ADS does not respond or error "CSoapExceptionTransport.."
    and enableSSL is false.
    the only thing thats different in my case: the rfc ADS does not work with path prefix
    /Adobedocumentservices/Config?style=rpc
    I left it blank.
    thx for any idea
    chris

    Hi Chris,
    What is the connection test response of ADS RFC(404,405,403,200..)?
    FP destination services are maintained with correct ADS_AGENT password?
    to test prefix path try the URL http://<adshost>:port/prefixpath (eg. http://smprod:50000/Adobedocumentservices/Config?style=rpc)

  • Not getting header of HTTP Response in Netweaver 7.1

    Hello,
    I m trying to use HttpURLConnection to authenticate with some site. I m able to send the request and recieve the response from the server. But I m not getting the header of the response. When I do it as simple java application everything works fine but when I deploy it as EJB on Netweaver 7.1, I m not getting the header information from the response.
    my code:
    URL  url = new URL(Some URL);
    HttpURLConnection  conn = (HttpURLConnection )url.openConnection();
    conn.setRequestProperty("Content-Type", "application/x-www-form-urlencoded");
    conn.setRequestMethod("GET");
    conn.setInstanceFollowRedirects(true);
    conn.setUseCaches(false);
    conn.setDoOutput(true);
    OutputStreamWriter wr = new OutputStreamWriter(conn.getOutputStream());
    wr.write(some data);
    sessionID = getSessionID(conn);
    wr.flush();
              // Get the response
    BufferedReader rd = new BufferedReader(new InputStreamReader(conn.getInputStream()));
    String resultXML = "";
    String line;
    while ((line = rd.readLine()) != null) {
          resultXML += line;
    Above I m getting the reponse from the site. But the header is not present in that response.
    So when I use  conn.getHeaderFields() I get emply Map.

    Hi Naveen,
      Please follow steps for deploying the application.
    1)open SAPMMC.
    2)You will see three green folder name and last two will contain some one digit number in last.
    3)Please note down these numbers say 1 and 2 (instance number).
    4)Open developer studio.
    5)now navigate to windows->preferences->SAP AS JAVA
    6)If any thing is listed under SAP System Instances please remove by clicking on Remove SAP System.
    7)Now under SAP Instance Identity, enter 1(see step 3)  for Instance number and IP address of your machine/ where SAPMMC is installed.
    8)Click on Register SAP Instance and press OK.
    I hope It will help you.
    Kind regards

    Hi,
    The 'Communication Channel' in Integration Builder was not configured right in the 'Service Number' field. There was a J2EE port instead of HTTP port.
    J2EE port: 5<instance number>00
    HTTP port: 80<instance number>
    Good luck to everyone,
    Dimitry

  • Invalid http response: HTTP/1.1 200

    Hi gurus!
    I have a problem with an asynchronous interface.
    We are calling a Webservice which we don't need any response. In sxmb_moni it's OK, but in our RWB we see it as failed, with this entry:  invalid http response: HTTP/1.1 200.
    I have search in logs, and in defaultTrace_00.0.trc we can see the following entry:
    Marked transaction for rollback for meesage 4b4ed19f-bbe6-0062-e100-8000ac1f041d(INBOUND). Reason: java.io.IOException: invalid http response: HTTP/1.1 200
    We have captured the HTTP header response, and is:
    HTTP/1.1 200
    Date: Thu, 14 Jan 2010 10:26:03 CET
    Server: Mule/1.2
    Connection: close
    Expires: Thu, 14 Jan 2010 10:26:03 CET
    Content-Type: text/xml
    Content-Length: 508
    X-MULE_CORRELATION_ID: d595447a-00ee-11df-a6a5-becd407b7daa
    X-MULE_CORRELATION_GROUP_SIZE: 3
    X-MULE_CORRELATION_SEQUENCE: -1
    Could it be problem of the X-MULE_CORRELATION headers? Or Maybe PI needs an HTTP/1.1 200 OK?
    Thak you!!!!

    Hi Ignasi,
    I personally donu2019t think you will have much luck getting XI to accept this response since itu2019s not an XI issue.  Itu2019s true that the client (XI in this case) is not required to examine or display the reason-phrase, but that statement doesnu2019t negate the requirement on the server to provide it.  The client has the option to look at it or not, but the server must still provide it either way.
    I didn't notice the http header before, but the server you are connecting to is actually Mule version 1.2.  This release dates back to 2005.  I ran a quick test and reproduced the issue using Mule 1.2 (hello-http sample).  This may not be the same exact issue, but I did observe the same issue with the missing reason-phrase.  The issue is fixed in the Mule 1.3 release.
    Perhaps they can request a patch for 1.2.  This may not be possible since they are working on the Mule 3.0 version now, but I really donu2019t know.  Itu2019s literally one line of code.   I made one small change and was able to get the hello-http sample working (code is open source):
    Class: org.mule.providers.http.transformers.UMOMessageToHttpResponse
    From this:
    httpMessage.append(status).append(HttpConstants.CRLF);
    To this:
    httpMessage.append(status).append(" ").append(org.apache.commons.httpclient.HttpStatus.getStatusText(status)).append(HttpConstants.CRLF);
    org.apache.commons.httpclient.HttpStatus.getStatusText is the method they are using in 1.3 to resolve the reason-phrase using the status code.
    Thanks,
    -Russ

    I have gone through the note. So, it seems that I have to put a Header tag with username and password. But such tag definitions do not exist neither in my WSDL nor in my XSD that gets validation on destination server. In that case what do I do? :(
