Content Management Configuration in WebLogic Portal 9.2 Beta

Hello All,
I am aware of configuring Content Management System to Third Party CMS using a DMBase directory reference in the application-config.xml in WLP 4.0, 7.0 and 8.1 Versions...
This also include the DocumentConnectionPool to point to the Database where the METADATA is stored.
But how do I do this in 9.2 Beta Version. I did read thru the cm.pdf where they talk about the CMS configuration.
Where do I configure the DMBase direcory?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks and regards,
Pazhanikanthan. P

Hi,
You can use the "i18n" tags associated with resource files.
http://e-docs.bea.com/wls/docs92/i18n/utilities.html
Also, in netuix-config.xml, you can enable localisation and choose the default locale:
<localization>
<enable>true</enable>
<default-locale language="fr" country="FR"/>
</localization>
By default, the locale will be chosen from attributes in the request. But if you want to change this behavior (for example decide the locale from the URL), you can develop a custom LocaleProvider (com.bea.netuix.servlets.l10n.LocaleProvider)
Best regards
Stéphanie

  • Web content management tools for enterpise portal

I'm currently trying to research web content management tools for enterprise portal.
    My general requirements are:
    -  Tool should sit on top of the portal/km and not require another landscape infrastructure, in other words we don't need another document management repository, but rather a way an easier interface to KM.
    -  Should be geared towards end-user management of actual content.  In other words IT provides the site framework and the business user handles the rest, with approvals with business unit
    -  Compatible with EP 7.0
My research so far has turned up two possible solutions:
    - Webpage composer delivered by SAP
    - EasyWCM by btexx
Are there any other solutions that people are using which might meet these needs or alternative web content management tools that could live with the portal on the same physical hardware environment?  I have searched this forum and ecohub and have not found much besides this thread which is now almost 4 years old:
    https://forums.sdn.sap.com/click.jspa?searchID=24164203&messageID=448870
    Thank you,
    Stephen

    Hi Stephen
I'm not aware of too many other options than the ones already mentioned here. Also Iu2019m probably not the right person to ask as I have been part of the development team for the KMD product.  So Iu2019m a bit biased on that part.
You could try to have a look at this presentation where other WCM solutions are mentioned (page 5):
    https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/d07b5354-c058-2a10-a98d-a23f775808a6
However if you are looking for a WCM solution with no extra landscape infrastructure and low initial setup effort you are (in my opinion) down to 3 options (Web Page Composer, Btexxu2019s or KMDu2019s product). I think all of them can be used for external content. Try to have a look at this web site u2013 made entirely with the web page composer:
    http://www.kmd.dk
It was no easy task but it can be done.

make sure LDAP connection is working. Make sure use default ports for all connections. Most of the samples on the OTN uses default port, if you change them you, you have to modify sample code.

  • Best Practice to retrieve content from WCM in Weblogic Portal 10.3

    Hi,
Could someone tell us how to render static pages of WCM (which is part of UCM 10gR3) in Weblogic Portal 10.3.
Right now we are using WCM portlet & getting error when changing the portlet preferences. It was provided by oracle only.
Is there any other easy approach to develop static pages through UCM & then integrate in WLP considering the propagation frm Dev to Preprod to Production environments.

That typically happens when you have your database connections configured
incorrectly. WebLogic is timing out on accessing the database.

    Hi,
Have you correctly defined the call structure? Remember the client to be populated in the call structure should be the client where the CCM catalog resides. Also, the catalog id must match that of the published catalog in the CCM client, maybe paste the call structure in here so we can see how it looks.

  • Content Management in weblogic portal8.1

    HI,
Can someone help me understand/point to a document which explains where BEA keeps
the repository? I figure (purely a guess) that it stores the repository in a database
    - but i didnt configure any database while installing Weblogioc8.1 or during any
of the steps. But i am able to see a repository (BEA Repository) thru my admin
portal. This means, that it is using some database by default. How do i know where
all the information is stored? How do i get more information about this? If it
keeps the sample repository in Pointbase, how do i configure so i can point it
to some other database (say like Sybase) ? Obviously, we cannot use Pointbase
    in the production environment.
    Thanks
    Madhuri

    Hi, Markus et al,
So even with the binary content in the db, you're having no
performance issues? That would be great news for us, but
I'll have to convince my system adminstrator that it is true.
So far, we have about 800 MB of content (exludes metadata),
and would persist it in MS SQL Server. It's not much so far:
I'd expect it to grow approx. 25% per year. Any concerns?
    Thanks for the clarification.

  • Migration of oracle portal contents/applications to Weblogic portal

I have a website running on oracle portal. I want to migrate all those contents (applications/portlets) to weblogic portal. I dont know where to start from. Can somebody please guide me and give me some tutorials for this.
    Thanks
    Joseph

    Hi Ajay,
If  the configtool is showing the old information of instances , it has got two things
    1.  JMT phase of your migration has not been performed correctly.
    2. If you are using the same hostname , SID , instance name , then it will calculate the same instance number.
In JMT  phase it  should delete all the information of dialog instance  and calculated the new instance id
on the basis of box number calculated from the file cluster_id_switch.properties while migrating the CI.
checked the JMT folder inside sapinst_dir.
Checked the below parameter in cluster_id_switch.properties
    src.ci.sid=
    src.ci.instance.number=
    src.ci.instance.name=
    src.ci.host=
Checked the logs for java migration tool phase and java configuration parameter phase. Also do check the box number of the system. If the box number is not correct as per your input then you will not able to patch your system further.
Now in second case, If you are keeping the same hostname , instance name and SID , then it will calculate the same instance id so you don't need to worry in this case.

    Hi Tim,
Pls always mention WLP version for a question.
Looks like there has been a change in the class "KernelDebugMBean" between WLP 9.2 and WLP 10.0
9.2: public interface KernelDebugMBean extends weblogic.management.configuration.DebugMBean
    "http://edocs.bea.com/wls/docs92/javadocs_mhome/index.html"
    10.0
    public interface KernelDebugMBean
Not really sure. Something is messy about DebugMBean superclass.
    Might a BEA support question

  • Clustering weblogic portal 10.3 with apache plugin

    Hi,
we have configured a weblogic portal 10.3 cluster with two managed servers. We are using the apache 2.2 plugin module for dispatching.
It seems for us that the plugin is not working correctly. It dispatches all request only to one server (we have tested it from different client machines). When we kill one of the managed servers the plugin dispatches to the other server which is correct.
In our test case we have produced a lot of load with two jmeter instances from two machines. All requests are dispachted to one managed server. After the first server runs in an out of memory, the plugin dispachted to the second managed server until this runs also in an out of memory. Therefor we have no real load balancing.

  • Enterprise content Management

    Dear Friends,
Enterprise content Management is part of portal. But is it part of SAP DMS module.
I have confusion that a SAP DMS consultant should know SAP Enterprise content management.
As I know A SAP DMS consultant should have knowledge of Web DMS, Easy DMS. So in same way is it necessary to have knowledge of SAP ECM.
    With Warm Regard

    Hi Mangesh,
Enterprise content management is a systematic approach via a set of tools/methods that enable an enterprise/organization to capture, organize, store and deliver information crucial to its operations. This can be via solutions like SAP DMS,SAP Arhcivelink,SAP Enterprise portal,Open Text,Records Management Sytems,Documentum,Livelink et-al.
Document Management has some overlap with the concepts of other types of Content Management and is often viewed as a component of Enterprise Content Management Systems.
Coming back to your question, SAP EP/DMS are themselves components of  Enterprise content management system.
P.S. ECM in SAP parlance stands for Engineering Change Mangement.

  • Weblogic portal 4.0 problem

I am using user management tag with weblogic portal 4.0(sp2)
Problem is that when i do
    <um:getProfile scope="session" profileKey="<%=userName%>" />
    <um:setProperty propertyName="firstname" propertySet="userProfile" value="<%=firstName%>" />
it inserts another row in PROPERTY_VALUE table , whereas it should update the current property(firstname).
This is happening randomly, not always.
    Any sugestions are welcome.
    Thanx

    Hi,
Webflows are scoped to a web-application (a web-app is defined in the Servlet
specification - http://java.sun.com/products/servlet/ ). An InputProcessor is part
of webflow, so it is scoped to the web-app. You need to put the class where the web
application classloader can find it. Give the servlet spec a quick look...in
chapter 9, "Web Applications", it mentions the WEB-INF/classes directory for servlet
    and utility classes.
Put your class in the proper directory strucure (according to its package name)
    under <portal 4.0-install-dir>/applications/myJ2EEApp/myWebApp/WEB-INF/classes/...
You can see that webflows are scoped to a web-application (and Pipelines are
scoped to a J2EE application) at
    http://edocs.bea.com/wlp/docs40/wflopipe/overview.htm#1032978 , "The Relationship
Between Webflows and Applications". FYI, a J2EE application can be made up of many
web applications (and EJB jar files). See java.sun.com for the J2EE specification,
    which defines a J2EE application.

but i dont know where can i put my new class in the directory?

  • Search ranking (Autonomy) of weblogic portal's content management?

    Hi All,
I would like to know is there any methods for me to manually customize the ranking of the search results of the contents in the content management repository provided by the weblogic portal? Either in Autonomy aspect or in Weblogic portal aspect is ok.
What I prefer is to add some tags into the content document so that I can make the desired content to have a higher ranking in the search results.
    Thank you for yours help!
    Regards,
    Kevin

    Hi Kevin,
If there is a single search you wish to order results for, and the search results are generally of a single ObjectClass, one way to do this is to add a new property definition of a numerical type to the ObjectClass.
Make this an explicit property (which means you would need to manually add a column to the CM_NODE table).
For each Node in the search result, you could assign this property value.
You can then sort on the explicit property values in the search.
