Content Server alternate color bg

I have a news list and I want to alternate the cell color for rows of headlines. Can this be done in Contetn Server 6 ?

Can anyone respond to this? Im working on the same logic in my Presentation Templates.. and Have tried EVERYTHING.

    Deselect this checkbox to switch off the display of formatting, including icons and background color. Displaying formatting during navigation can be time consuming. You may therefore want to switch if off for performance reasons. An example is if you are navigating to achieve a result that you want to export to a text-based file.Scroll bars and scrolling icons are not affected by this setting.
    SAP Notes:
    Customizing Default Workbooks
    You can format a workbook using all the Microsoft Excel functions. The following options are available, for example:
    ●      Add a background graphic to the worksheet
    ●      Add additional worksheets with design items or charts
    ●      Embed a VBA macro that allows you to easily access the BEx Analyzer object model to enhance your workbook with BEx-specific custom VBA code
    ●      Format cells outside of design items with text, borders, and colors
    ●      Add a logo to a particular cell (outside the range of a design item)
    You can also format a workbook using the BEx Analyzer design functions:
    ●      Add or remove design items that you want to display by default
    ●      Change the locations of design items
    ●      Apply a BEx theme (see Workbook Settings)
    Cells belonging to design items themselves use a standard formatting.  Using Microsoft Excel functions, you can manually format these cells in analysis mode. For example, you can select a row of results in the analysis grid and set the text to bold. However, when you refresh the query, the standard formatting for the query cells is restored and the settings for these cells are lost.
    You can permanently format design item cells in two ways:
    ●        Using BEx themes, you can select different formatting themes, including formatting for design items. See Workbook Settings
    ●        With certain types of queries, you can work in formula mode, which gives you complete freedom to format the cells as required. See Working in Formula Mode.
    For example, your current default workbook consists of a background graphic and the Navigation Pane and Analysis Grid design items. You work with different queries in which exceptions were defined. You want to be able to display exceptions easily when you open queries in the BEx Analyzer. You want to display a background graphic that contains an exception alert symbol. You proceed as follows:
    ●        Create a new blank workbook using Microsoft Excel function New.
    ●        In analysis mode in the BEx Analyzer, choose Format ® Sheet ® Background in the Microsoft Excel menu, and select a different background graphic.
    ●        Use the BEx Analyzer design toolbar to insert a List of Exceptions design item. If you were not already connected to a system, you are prompted to connect now.
    ●        Insert an Analysis Grid design item to display the query results.
    ●        Choose Save ® Save Workbook As in the analysis toolbar, and save the workbook to the server.
    ●        Close the workbook.
    ●        Choose Open ® Open Workbook and open the workbook from the server. This is a prerequisite to be able to define workbooks as default workbooks.
    ●        In the analysis toolbar, choose Global Settings, and in the Current Default Workbook section, choose Use Current. Your customized workbook is now the default workbook.
    ●        Choose Open ® Open Query and select a query.
    Your query now opens in the workbook you have defined as the default.  The Exception design item is already embedded in your workbook and your custom background graphic is displayed
    Themes
    BEx themes, based on NetWeaver Portal styles, are shared services across the Business Explorer suite. In the BEx Analyzer, they are delivered as a set of Microsoft Excel style definitions for your workbook. Themes provide formatting information such as background color, font, and font size. To display the set of style definitions for a workbook, choose Format  ® Style from the Microsoft Excel menu.  The styles provided by the Business Explorer are prefixed with SAPBEX*.
    Themes are content objects that are stored on the server and that you can choose to activate.  Themes are stylesheets in which you can make important changes to a theme. All workbooks in which the theme is used are updated accordingly. 
    The following settings are available on the Themes tab page:
    Current Theme
    The list of available BEx themes is displayed. The BEx theme that is currently applied to your workbook, if any, is selected.
    New/Delete/Apply/Save
    If the following special authorization is assigned to your user name, you can change and save themes on the server: AUTHORITY-CHECK OBJECT 'S_RS_TOOLS' ID 'COMMAND'  FIELD 'THEMES'.
    If you have this authorization, these buttons appear:
    ●      Create a new theme by choosing New.
    ●      Select a theme from the Current Theme list, and choose Delete to delete it. This deletes your theme locally.
    ●      Select a theme from the Current Theme list, and choose Apply to apply currently configured styles to it. When you do this, the BEx Analyzer reads the Microsoft Excel style definitions of all the styles in the workbook that are prefixed with SAPBEX* and stores them in the selected theme. This allows you to edit the styles in Microsoft Excel and then create a theme with these customized styles.
    ●      To save all the themes to the server, choose Save.
    Reapply Theme Before Rendering
    Since BEx themes are saved on the server, they can be changed on the back end. Select this indicator if you want to retrieve the most up-to-date definition of the style from the server and apply it again.
    Apply New Styles
    Select this indicator to update the current workbook with any style that has been added to the theme on the server since the theme was originally applied. If, for example, new styles have been added to a theme during a patch release, you can retrieve them from the server with this option.
    Do Not Use a Theme
    Select this indicator to stop using the selected theme in your workbook.

  • Content server is not running.

    All,
    I have rather peculiar issue. The external 10.1.3.1 content server is setup against EBS 12.1.3.The content server is running fine and I was able to upload content using it. I fail to upload content all of the sudden until EBS is bounced. Nothing changes on content server side and again it works for day or two and stops and throws "Content server is not running" error. Is there any EBS configuration that can cause this behavior? I do not even see the request being logged in default-web-access-<date>.log on content server that indicates that it is not even reaching content server. It works fine in TEST environment and in PROD it is behaving in this manner. This is a new setup.
    Any pointers are appreciated.

    The fact that bouncing EBS fixes the issue temporarily indicates that the problem is most likely on the EBS end, but we haven't encountered that specific issue. What OS are you using to host EBS? Are you purging the J2EE cache when you bounce the services?
    Feel free to reach out to Anne or myself if you'd like to dive into this. We could test with an alternate content server to see if that helps isolate the problem.

    Good day, I need help regarding content profiles for content server, I want to know if I can create a specific metadata filed related to specific area such as HR (empno, emp name, department, job title....etc), I don't want to make all the required fileds available (content id, type, security group,..etc
    How can I manipulate fields in the Rules? and then attached these rules to profiles? and what is the use of the trigger field within the profiles?where will it be important?
    can I customize the check-in page adding fonts, colors, whatever fields, images as well as metadata fields? if there is a document for this I will be grateful.

    I can create a specific metadata filed related to specific area such as HR &lt;I did not get this question clearly but You can create all you want to&gt;
    I don't want to make all the required fileds available (content id, type, security group,..etc &lt;You first need to assigne them some default value and make them hidden&gt;
    How can I manipulate fields in the Rules? By selecting a metadata filed you may assign some dynamic value, hide them or make then read only.
    and then attached these rules to profiles? &lt;yes this will invoke the rule, when the Contributor selects a particular profile.&gt;
    and what is the use of the trigger field within the profiles?where will it be important?&lt;trigger field is the thing that binds together a profile and a rule. So even if you try check in something from standard checkin page. But if for the value of trigger filed there exist a profile. Then rules associated with that profile would run&gt;

This can be sped up by compressing the data first - and then transferring that across the network.
    For example: using +bcp+ to export the data on the SQL-Server box to a CSV file, compress/zip the file, scp/sftp the file to Oracle, and then unzipping it there. Parallel and direct load processing can now be done using SQL*Loader to load the CSV into Oracle.
    If this is a Linux/Unix base system, then the unzip/decompress process can be run in parallel with the SQL*Loader process by creating a pipe between the two - where the unzip process writes uncompressed data into the pipe and SQL*Loader reads and loads data as it becomes available via the pipe.
    Alternatively, you can do you own PQ processing. Let's say the data is date ranged. You can create a procedure on Oracle that looks something like this:

  • Content Server Portlets Not Displaying

    Help!
    We're running Portal v5.04, Java under Windows, Content Server v6.0, Tomcat v4.1.31. Multi-machine installation...
    After logging into the portal as Administrator (or some user with admin privileges), we get an error where the Content Server Administration portlet is placed saying "Content Administration cannot be displayed due to an unknown error.". Get the same thing with any other Content Portlet...
    This installation was fine beginning of last week, but started showing this problem late in the week. All of the diags I know of for testing Content, Collab, and Studio (all installed on the same server) show all greens. Tried looking at logs - nothing. Tried PTSpy during login (portlet is on "My Home" page - should display automatically) - nothing remarkable.
    We have multiple admins, and it's possible that something was changed (unbeknownst to me). Frustrated and not sure even where to start looking for a solution to this. Any Ideas?

  • Error While defining the content server

    Dear Folks,
    We are trying to define the content sever in our sever. It is required for integration of SAP with documentum. We are trying to define in below path.
    Cross-Application Components - Document Management - General data - Settings for storage systems - Maintain storage system -
    It already have DMS_C1 content repository with storage type R/3 database. We are creating a new content repository with storage type HTTP Content Server. We are giving below inputs.
    Vesion No. 0045, HTTP Server - (My machine's FQDN and port is 8080), HTTP script as - sap/bc/contentsever/300.
    After giving above inputs, if I click on test connection, I m getting error as Error in HTTP Access:IF_HTTP_CLIENT -> RECIEVE1 ICM_HTTP_CONNECTION_FAILED.
    If I define the HTTP content sever as sap-qas.vsnl.co.in (i.e. My quality servers host name) it works fine i.e. connection test goes OK. Does any one know how we can define the content server and what all steps required for the same?

    YOu have to provide the details as fallows
    Storage type : HTTP content server
    Version no. : 45 (based on the content server version)
    HTTP server : <content server IP>
    Port Number of content server : 1090 (default port)
    HTTP Scrip : ContentServer/ContentServer.dll
    Once after these details you can check
    Also install the DBM gui in your local PC and add this content servers database (if the content server is on MAX DB) then you need to star it from the console or else use the command to start it once after the installation.
    /sapdb/programs/bin/dbmcli -d <SID> -u control,plmcont db_state - to check the database status
    /sapdb/programs/bin/dbmcli -d <SID> -u control,plmcont db_online - to start the database

  • Content Server 6.40 Presents a Save As dialog for ContentServer.dll file

    hi All
    we have installed successfully the content server 6.40 on a windows 2008 with iis 7 environment. The installation wen successfully with no errors. however when we run a test by calling the URL http://<server>:<port>/ContentServer/ContentServer.dll?serverInfo URL, instead of getting a response, we are getting a save as file dialog to save the dll file.   Also, after the installation, even with the install website tick checked, the website was not installed. we had to do the installation of the website manually for the port.
    With content server 620 on windows 2000 this was never the case
    if anywone has an idea on how to resolve the issue, please advice

    GOT the Solution
    to anyone else who could be going through the same issue, see if the solution below solves your issue
    The website should get created if all the roles in IIS 7.0 are installed. Therefore, please try to install the IIS 7.0 by selecting
    all the roles followed by installation of the SAP Content Server. By doing so, websites should be created automatically.
    In the IIS 7.0, all the roles are not selected during the installation by default. Please make sure all the below roles are included and IIS 7.0 is installed, as per the installation manual for the Content Server on Windows 2008:

    That simply sounds like the PATH for libucb.so.1 is not maintained in your env variables.

    Good day! Could someone explain me what's the difference between Telepresence Content Server and MSE 3500? Why do I need to obtain two these devices for sorting out my tasks? I want to understand gist of the first and the second devices.

    In addition to what Jonathan posted above, here is a Capture Transform Share Solution Guide that goes over a little bit of what the TCS and MXE are and some possible deployment scenarios.
    In short, TCS is used to record video conferences or lectures that can be streamed on demand or live using various streaming or distribution methods.  One such distribution method is using the MXE 3500 to ingest the recordings from TCS and convert them to different media types and add in-video content such as logos etc.  However, from the MXE, you can't send the video back to the TCS for viewing, you'd need to send that off to another viewing portal such as Show and Share.

    Error on update of document stored in content server
    On a regular basis (but not reproducible) we find that after updating a document, it is deleted from content server (or at least it cannot be retrieved).  These problems have only been experienced since we switched to using content server as our storage repository, as opposed to R/3.
    We create and maintain documents through a bespoke transaction, which calls standard SAP functions BDS_BUSINESSDOCUMENT_CREA_TAB and cl_bds_document_set=>update_with_table.
    Whilst the errored documents are listed in the BDS via transaction OAOR (business document navigator), an error is received when you try to display it (in our case an MS-Word error indicating file/pathname invalid). 
    We are satisfied that file/pathname are valid and find that this occurs occasionally when a document has been updated.  It appears that the document has been deleted. 
    This bespoke transaction has been running successfully for almost two years, and these problems have only been experienced after switching to content server as a storage repository (as opposed to R3 previously).  Has anyone else experienced these problems? 
    We are running :
    R/3 Enterprise 620,
    SAP HTTP Content Server Version 6.30 Patch 13
    SAPDB version 7.3.0.54

    To check the connectivity between your content server and Workstation and SAP Server.
    Pls goto the command prompt of your workstation
    give the command like this example.
    C:\>Ping 117.123.45.201
    you will get the reply from the server. here 117.123.45.201 is your content server IP.
    If you are getting the reply then it means that your contentserver and workstation are connected propely.
    Like that pls check the connectivity between your systems.
    Pls check the hosts file of your systems also.
    If the hosts file entry is not maintained, you can check-out file from content server but you cannot check-in the original.
    Pls let me know what kind of error Message you are getting?
    From where you are trying to check-in the Original? From the DIR screen or from CAD Desktop screen?

    I am working on Adobe Content Server 3.0.1 and able to configure it to ecommerce site but i am unable to package the books when both library and store is configured on my Adobe content server 3.0.1 at a time.
    please let me known the version of the content server i using is licensed to use only store or a library at a given time.

    We configured Adobe Content Server 3.0.1 and created one store and one library, when we want to lend a eBook i am unable to locate the option for lending the eBook in "Availbility" tag page of "Books" Tab when i set the "Adjust" option to value "Loan".
    Please let me know whether my version of content server allows us to package a eBook for lending if so where can i find the option for lending the eBook.

    I've created operator.p12 according to the instructions in the Quickstart guide

  • Content Server 10gR3 installation problem on Windows 7

    Hi,
    I just started working on UCM. I tried to install Content Server 10gR3 on my machine with Windows 7 OS. When I try to install, the installation suddenly aborts or hangs until I abort it. Web server (Apache) and DB (Oracle 10g) are running fine.
    System has got adequate configuration: Enough Disk space, 2GB RAM and 2 GHz CPU
    The same installer worked perfectly on Windows XP Pro 2002 SP2. Can some one reply if UCM 10g is support on Windows 7 ? This, however, is only for learning purpose on my home PC and not for production use.
    I also tried running the installer in Windows XP compatible mode. But this didn't help me either. Do, I need to install Win XP to run it or is there any alternative to make it run on Windows 7.

  • Installation problem in Oracle Content Server 10g

    Hi,
    I am trying to install 'ORACLE CONTENT SERVER 10g', as a part of this trying to click on 'Installer.exe' in '/win32'. When i click this installer.exe, it is prompting one COMMAND PROMPT SCREEN and it is disappearing soon. In fact it was suppose to ask language preference as per installation guide.
    Dont know how to resolve this issue. please help me out.
