Content sharing/linking

Hello everybody!
I'm reposting this message, cause I didn't get any real useful answer yet and the problem still remains active.
I have a real big problem with iFS. What i need is the following functionality. You should be able to make some references to a master document object. Each of this references must be able to have totally different attributes like name, ACL etc. Nevertheless they must share the same content. In particular this means that it must be possible to edit one of the references and update all others automagically. This is much like a soft link in Unix like systems. At the moment i have seen two, possibly three, possibilities to solve this problem.
The first possible solution is to use the shareContentObject (ContentObject, LibraryObject) method in the DocumentDefinition class. As a result the content was shared in the state it was in at the creation time of this sharing. But if i change one or both of the copies afterwards, the changes are not shared, so they never become visible in the other copy.
The second one is to extend the DocumentClass Object by adding an extra attribute for the id of the original document. As the next step the Document has to be extended as well, especially the getContentXY () and related methods. The idea behind is to call the getContent () method of the original object, which is referenced by the extra id attribute. This would make the extended objects simply wrappers for the original object at least concerning the content. The other methods would not be overwritten to enable the new objects to have different attributes like name or such.
The third method would be to establish a set of relationships between the master objects and its, lets call them slave objects, related objects. All of this relationships contain the master object as LeftObject. This allows the synchronisation of all slaves with the master but requires a heavy overhead for managing all updates.
My question is if there are other possibilities or implementations of one the methods above. Especially i want to know if there are faster methods with far less overhead, as computing time is not unlimited as you know.
Thanks in advance!

Waldemar,
I would say that the "parenting" option using the setSharedContentObject method would be the best option. This would satisfy your need of having each document having its own ACL, but would ensure that there was only one copy of the content.
The extended class method would I think mean that you would need to check each time you opened a document to see which content object to use.
The relationship method would mean that you would have to check again each time the document opened and you would have to maintain the relatonships.
I would guess that the "parenting" option would be the most efficient.
Anyone from Oracle able to comment?

Is CDN built in Azure Websites or CDN needs to be created and linked to website for content sharing...

    Hi
CDN is a separate service in Azure and you can serve your content there.
Then your azure website can use those CDNs that you provide in azure (just like any other CDN out there like Jquery Ajax etc ..)

  • How do I remove the shared link that's shares my contact information? I need to remove the link off all my contacts and not just on an individual basis. Somehow my boyfriends iPhone can see all of my contact information.

Unshare my contact information so no one is able to see it.

In addition my icloud is turned off and I also removed the shared linked off of my boyfriend's contact information on my phone but he still has access to all my contact information. I see the shared links in all my other contacts as well but I'm not sure if unlinking each contact will help. Is there another way to unshare the contact information?

  • Content type "Link to a Document" to content type Document SET

    Hello,
    Could you please assist.
I have a customized document sets.
I added the content type "Link to a Document” to content type Document SET.
I uploaded several documents to each document set.  There are several identical documents in different document sets.
How can I arrange for uploading just a link to the documents, but not the additional documents?
In other words, how to arrange for convenience for users to download a link?
I mean them not to enter
    http://server/files ,
but a certain “dropdown” appeared, a kind of menu with a choice of downloaded documents.
Suppose, I added to each file its own attribute link and this link. I want to present  in form of creation “Link to a Document”
There are 2 forms of creation. The first one is where we point a link. The second one is where we point the attributes.
    For example:
I have two document sets: Project 1 and Project 2.
There are 2 documents “instruction.doc” and “invoice.xls” uploaded to Project 1.  Each document has a field – link (a link to this very document).
I want to add a link to “invoice.xls” in Project 2.
I want to do it in that way a user could choose a list of links from a dropdown menu.
    Thanks

Lookup column is the attribute of file. Attribute can not be upload! . Did you try to use the content type of link to document? If yes, you can understand my question. I want to change uploaded.aspx ( link of document) and add lookup column to this form.
Standart scenario: User create link to docunent. 1. Prees button start. 2. Input text link to upload.aspx form 3. Set attributes new. Aspx I want: 1. Press button. 2. User press dropdawn menu and choise neddeng link. 3. Set attributes Plese read my question
again. Sorry for my not good english

I am from Lion co and purchased sx 10 recently.

Can you please provide us with a little more information on your systems and configuration / topology, such as, what call control are you using (Cisco VCS, CUCM, other?). what type of "Bridge" are you using (is this a Cisco MCU, or Cisco TelePresence Server, or other device?), what versions of the software are on each of the devices, etc.  The more information we have about your environment will help us assist you better.  But saying that, if all your core equipment isn't Cisco, you may have more luck in the forums for the manufacturer of such equipment (ie Polycom's Support Community).

It sounds like there may be a misunderstanding about our link property feature.
That feature is not for web hyperlinks. For that you can just use a string property. The links feature is for pointers to other pieces of content.
    (from: http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E13155_01/wlp/docs103/cm/contentTypesCm.html)
    "Using Link Properties
You can create properties that allow content contributors to associate content items. Content contributors can link to content within the same or different repositories within the Virtual Content Repository. For example, if you have related content items that are stored in different folders, you can use content link properties to create relationships among content items. These relationships are used by developers in their content queries when retrieving content to display in your portal.
Link properties can also be multi-valued to allow content contributors to link to multiple content items. For detailed instructions on adding a link property, see Define the Properties of a Content Type."

  • How to find out web content files linked in folio through scripting

    Hi all,
Please suggest me, how to find out web content files linked in folio through scripting.
    Regards,
    Moorthy

@Moorthy – can you tell us a bit more? By mentioning "folio", I think you are referring to Adobe Digitial Publishing Suite (ADPS or short: DPS). If yes:
    1. Do you want to analyze Folio files *.folio and get the linked web content files?
    2. Or do you want to check an InDesign file with an overlay and check what files are linked as web content?
    3. Or something else?
    Where is your base problem?
Packaging the InDesign files and copy/relinking the web content files after the packaging process?

  • HT202213 can home sharing link automatically or do I have to connect each time after connection is lost ie if i leave house for day with phone do I have to connect shared library again on phone in evening when back in house?

Can home sharing link automatically or do I have to connect each time after connection is lost ie if i leave house for day with iphone or ipad do I have to connect shared library again on iphone/ipad in evening when back in house? It would be good if it just links automatically

Well then maybe I misunderstood what you meant even though now that you explained it again, I should have though about that.
When you leave the house in the morning with your device, you lose the connection to the library because you are no longer on the same WiFi network as you are at home. You have to be on the same network in order to use Home Sharing. Once you get home again, you have to select the Shared Library again.
I apologize for the confusion or misunderstanding.

  • Block Content Sharing

This may be a stupid question but
    If we have two users.
User A who is enabled for conferencing features and content sharing.
User B who is restricted to only basic IM&P.
The experience we observe is that (by using meet now for example) users attending a meeting hosted by user B can only IM as expected.
All users joining the meeting hosted by user A, such as user B, can now share their desktop etc. This is an issue
Is there anyway to ensure user B is never able to content share? (No matter whose meeting they join)

... I don't think so through the policy, but perhaps on the workstation itself.  This will disable whiteboard and sharing throughout the entire app.  I haven't tried it myself just yet.
For Lync 2013 try creating this REG_DWORD and setting the value to 1.
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\15.0\Lync\DisableCollaborationApps
    For Lync 2010:
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Communicator\DisableCollaborationApps
