Context Node Selection Mapping

Hello
According to
https://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/WDJava/ContextMappingandSelectionMapping
it is possible to "choose not to map a node's selection", such that "two independent selection lists will be maintained".
But how to do that? Is this possible in NWDS 7.0?

I want to share the node content among different controller contexts.
But I do not want to share also the corresponding selection information. Every controller context should maintain its own selection information therewith the selection in one controller does not affect the selection in another controller. But the data on which they operate has to be the same.
According to the information I posted before this should be possible. But I do not now how.

hi developement Themis,
I think u didn't diclare "node" as context node. So declare it as a context node before using as a context node..as below
DATA node TYPE REF TO if_wd_context_node.
or u can use "lo_nd_child " as ur context node in ur program in place of "node"
then I think this error will be removed.

7. Create an additional node called u201CflightSu201D, this time with the cardinality 0..n.
8. Use the Create Using Wizard option of the context node again to define attributes from the SFLIGHT structure for this new node (see part 1, step 15). Choose the following fields: CARRID, CONNID, FLDATE, PRICE and PLANETYPE.
See the flights node , if there are no attributes the perform the steps as described in 8.

Dynamic reverse context node mapping at runtime

Hi!
I have an application which uses another embedded component containing a ALV table which shows the data of a transparent table.
Everything works fine if i'm working with a static table with static attributes and map the context node of the application to the node in the embedded component. The context node in the embedded component is reversed mapped and gets its data from the application's context node.
Now i want to do it dynamically. Inside the application the user should choose the name of a table and I'm using RTTI functions to get it's technical informations. At runtime i'm adding dynamically attributes (i.e. fieldname, type, length) to a static context node called 'DATA'.
The ALV component of the embedded component is mapped to an interface context node named 'DATA' which uses reverse mapping to receive data from the applications context node 'DATA'.
What I need to know is how to create the mapping between application context node and interface context node of the embedded component at runtime after i have created the attributes of the node dynamically. Is that basically possible?
I've already tried to map the both nodes statically to see if the dynamically created attributes are mapped automatically then. The mapping seems to be fine at node level, but doesn't work for the later dynamically added attributes.
Could someone point me to informations if dynamic mapping context nodes is basically possible and how to do it?

Thanks for the link! The problem isn't to fill the context node dynamically. That's already working using RTTI etc.
It seems to me that the interface context node of the ALV in the embedded component doesn't recognize the dynamically added attributes. As i wrote the binding on node level (DATA->DATA), which i'm doing at design time, is working as expected, but the added attributes are only shown in the context node of the using component but not in the embedded.
I'm still thinking there must be a way to do a binding at runtime. On the other hand the comment of Glenn in the thread you've pointed me to, seems to suggest that the ALV itself might have problems with dynamically appended attributes.

Map context node web dynpro to context DATA of interface controller ALV

I have started creating simple ALV by following the example in the below mentioned link.

I have completed 95% development but stuck with last bit of
Set data to ALV for display (via reverse context mapping).
When Click on the Controller Usage button. The component controller of your Web Dynpro component DOES NOT appears on the right side of the screen.
Therefore I can not Map context node NODE_FLIGHTTAB of your Web Dynpro component to context DATA of the interface controller of the ALV component.
Could you please shed me light on this.

Hi Chandra,
You need to add component controller first. Just go to the property tab of interface controller of the alv component and click on create button and then add the component controller. After that you'll be able to see the node in the context tab.

External context mapping issue: cannot create nodes,no mapping defined yet

I'm trying to use the external context mapping as it is explained in http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/d7/e551cf896c3a49bb87bb4ce38c99c8/frameset.htm
I did it in the past without any problem, but now, when i try to create a new node, i get the error "cannot create nodes,no mapping defined yet." This error appears as i try to create an element of the node (in the Internal Component), this way:
     IPruebaNodoElement elto = wdContext.nodePruebaNodo().createPruebaNodoElement();
     elto.setPrueba("Esto es una prueba");
     wdContext.nodePruebaNodo().addElement(elto);
The mapping is correctly done in the "Embedder Component", and the attribute "isInputElement"=true in the Interface Controller of the "Internal Component".
Any idea, any clue?

Read it carefully and try to implement that example, that could be really helpful.

How to implement Dynamic Context Node Mapping between Components

Hey genuis:
I am looking for how to implement context mapping bwteen two components. I read some threads, and try to use external context mapping. The example works fine. However, my requirement is more than that.
I have a context node in Component B, and the attributes in it are dynamically generated. Component A is the main component which use Component B's function. Both A and B work fine by theirselves.
When I assemble A and B (external mapping), the system gives me a exception:com.sap.tc.webdynpro.progmodel.context.ContextException: MappedNodeInfo(T8UploadCompInterface.data): cannot create nodes, no mapping defined yet.
Please give me some suggestion?

Problem with a context node mapped

hi all,
i have a problem in a WD application, when i execute a certain RFC, the model node in the controller mapped to that RFC (model), does not fill itself with the data that the RFC suppose to bring as a result. it seems to get lost in some point (the data). i check and all seems to be fine. I bind the node, then i execute it and later i invalidate it. It's not a role problem i've checked already, and the RFC in the backend when i run it, shows me data. Anyone knows what could this be?...

How to map XML to Web Dynpro context nodes?

Could anyone tell how xml string can be bound to context nodes ? In my requirement i need to serialize context nodes value to string and deserialize it back to nodes for implementing back naviagtion between views.
I didnt see much threads achieving this giving details on class cl_wdr_xml_convert_util and methods if_wd_client_conversion_util~string_to_struct.
I am using wd_context->to_xml to convert into xml.
From this format, i want to bind it back to context node.
When i use this below approch i get short dumb.
Serialization to xml:

Using this way, i get a short dumb as assert statement is failed as value for typedescr->type_kind is '*'.

How to populate a context node on the basis of the values in another node?

Hi,
I have a Webdynpro application which has to run on Portal as well as BlackBerry.
In this application I have a scenario where I need to have a sub node inside a node but as Blackberry doesn't support sub nodes with Singleton value false, I have to use another node for storing the values which earlier wre present in the sub node.
The actual scenario here is that we have two tables A & B. For each row of table A we have a no of rows in table B. This can be easily accomplished for Web Browser but we need to do this for Blackberry.
My question here is that how can i populate the data in table B at runtime using the concept of onLeadSelect. I am not able to fully undersans this concept.
According to my approach I have two a while loop which generates data for table A and inside this while loop I have another while which generates data for table B corresponding to each iteration of the outer while loop. I create the node elements for the rows of the table B and store them in a list and then store this list in a HashMap corresponding to a key formed by combining the values of all the elements of the row of table A.
Now I am not able to understand how can I display this data into table on user slecting a particular row.
Please guide ASAP.
It wille quite useful if you can provide me with some code snippets for the same.

Hi Manish,
In WebDynpro u can use the onLeadSelect event of table A and do all the processing in that method.Like u can use this method to fill ur context node,which will be the source node for table B. So this way u need not to use any hash map.Fill the source node of table B with data corresponding to ur selected data of table A.

How to populate the context nodes based on an event

I am having a basic problem. I have created a new Webdynpro Abap application. Here, in the main view, i have define a text view as well as a table. I have created context nodes A and B in component controller. The attributes under A are A1 and the attributes of B are B1,B2, and B3. I have also created an action button C in the same view. These have been mapped to the context nodes in the main view. A1 is mapped to the text view and B1, B2 and B3 are mapped to the table.
My requirement is as follows. When user Clicks on execute, i want to use the value A1 from the text view in a function module and return the values to B1, B2 and B3. B1, B2 and B3 are multiple values mind you.
I have successfully executed the function module within the WDONACTIONC method. How to i accomplish this Basic Task. Please Help

Step 3 is as follows...
Say you have a context node, you have to bind this node with table UI element, now this node must contain some context attribute which you have to bind with your columns of table. now say name of context node is cn_table. now what you have to do is get data from FM in the internal table..........
now move data by using move corresponding or by looping depending on requirement to an internal table which has fields with the same name as that of name of your attributes... this is imp to display the data...... now you can bind this internal table with context node using code below.......

Error while genetrating gettter method on Context node attribute

Hi,
I am working in SAP CRM 7.0 Ehp1.Now I need to create get_p_a and set_p_a method
on context node attribute.But while selecting attribute and clicking on right and selecting
on generate P-Getter,getting an error (error message - View not copied or enhanced with wizard; processing not possible).
This is a custom context node attribute and need to create gettter,setter method.
Kindly assist on this or suggest is there any way to create method on required context node attribute.

Hi there,
Creation of Getter Setter is not possible for the AET Generated Views and Components.
It seems your view is generated using AET Table enhancement feature of Ehp1 and the context node is thus a based on a Z BOL object created by a feature of AET of Ehp1
For such context node, generation of getter setters is not possible with right click.
If you need any of GET_ , SET_, GET_P_ or GET_V , then you need to copy the GET_P_XYZ etc method you find on context node class.

The component usages can be accessed from the component controller
You should however assure that the context node is present in comp controlelr of the used component.View context nodes cannot be accessed.
if not ,then you need to goto the component BTSTATUS ,add the context node explicitly to comp controller,and do correct bindings to the view context node.
Once you add the context node to the com controller,yo also need to expose it.
go to runtime repository->component_interface->interface_controller->context->right click and select ADD CONTEXT NODE, and add you newly creatde context ndoe of comp contorller here.
Now you cann access it using the code below in your comp SRQM_INCIDENT_H
data:lr_comp_controller type ref to <ur comp controller class>lr_comp_controller ?= me->comp_controller.
    lr_comp_usage ?= lr_comp_controller->get_component_usage( iv_usage_name = '<name of the comp usage as in runtime repository' ).

Is it possible to use two context nodes in a single table view?

I have a window context node which is mapped to a dictionary structure. I have created a second node which contains some texts. I've mapped both nodes with the context of a view. In this view I have created a table which shows lines of the first node (the one mapped to a dictionary structure). What I want is to show some text from the second node in a column of the table.
Both of the nodes are populated upon initialization of the window. And they have a 1:1 mapping. (i.e the first line of the second node has some text for the first line of the first node ) . When the table is displayed what I get is the first line of the second node for all the lines of the first node. How can I change that? How can I make the second (text) node show the relevant text of the relevant line?

You can make it work by using the logic of populating the node itself with modified values.
i.e. during the population of the first node populate the text with the text from the second node by looping through its elements
one by one.
node 1 -- during its population or may be after its population loop though its elements and modify the value of text
with the proper value taken from the corresponding value of text from the corresponding element of node 2.

I am trying to create a new node. That is
CONTEXT

As you see above I am trying to create 'DYNFLIGHT' along with the 2 attributes which are inside this node. The structure of the node that is, no.of attributes may vary based on some condition. Thats why I am trying to create a node dynamically.
Also I cannot define the structure in the ABAP dictionary because it changes based on condition

Ok, I think I found a bug... It seems for adobe forms in WD4A, the root context node must be 1-1 and you must nest the 1-n node within that... Not sure why, but it worked. So in my case my context would look like this:
