Controling document functions from within an iframe

I'm interested in embedding a pdf document within an HTML iframe along with an iframe panel where i could manipulate the document via javascript. I've been told that this is possible by inserting some javascript on both the document and the panel iframe so that the two can communicate but i cannot find any documentation or examples of this. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Calling ORACLE Functions from within CF Builder report

Hi, I have an ORACLE function that I would like to call from within my CF REPORT.
I know there is a section in the report builder where you can write coldfusion code to perform tasks, but I would rather simply call the ORACLE function for each detail row in the report
I do not want to call this function from within my main ORACLE query that I use for the report, so please don't suggest that.

There's no difference between using functions in DML and using functions in any other SQL statement. Almost any place where a literal is allowed, you can have any kind of expression, including a an expression involving one or more functions.
For example, in
UPDATE table_x
SET column_a = 0
WHERE column_b > SYSDATE;You could use functions instead of 0, column_b, or SYSDATE. (Actually, SYSDATE is a function.) You can not use functions instead of table_x or column_a (since it is to the left of the "=" sign).

Need help to call a simple function from within another function?

I created a movieclip which has a function in its one and only frame.
function testx() {
x = x+2};
This movieclip is in the main timeline (in its own layer).
In another layer on the timeline I have created a single keyframe with a button instance called myBtn
myBtn.onRelease = function() {

testx(2);
trace (x);
What I want to do is call the function in the movieclip frame from the button press function. However, I can't seem to reference it properly.
Can anyone help me to basically call a simple function from within another function?

Yes am using CS4. Have saved it as CS3 now. Ok the file is somewhat complicated and what I am testing is not what I ultimately want to do but if I can pass that variable I can figure it out. In terms of describing the file I think the only parts of importance are what I put in my previous post (please let me know if there is something I should be telling you that I have missed). I am 99.9% sure that I am using the correct instance name.
Scene1 Layer3 Frame1 has the function call for the button.

Using 'export -f FUNCTION' from within a script doesn't work

Why doesn't the 'export -f FUNCTION' work as expected in the following:

Exporting functions is recommended in the parallel man page.
The command must be an executable, a script, a composed command, or a function. If it is a function you need to export -f the function first. An alias will, however, not work (see why http://www.perlmonks.org/index.pl?node_id=484296).
Also, how is this a cross post? The post you referenced is about parsing input, this one is about calling a function from within the parent script.

HP Photosmart 5514 all-in-one printer. Control copy function from computer?

I have a HP Photosmart 5514 whose touch screen is no longer working properly. It doesn't recognize any selection at the bottom right of the screen. I can touch any other place on the screen and it will respond. Because of this I'm no longer able to copy or scan from the printer. I can print from my computer as this doesn't involve using the touchscreen on the printer. What I'm wondering is if it is possible to use my computer to control copying. Is it possible to use the computer (rather than the touch screeen on the printer) to tell the printer to copy?

Welcome to the HP Forums.
I see that you are having an issue with the touch screen not responding.
One step that you can try is to please make sure that you have the printer power cable connected directly to a wall outlet and not a power bar/strip. Here is a document that uses a LaserJet printer as an example but it is meant for HP products in general. Please click on the following link that explains the Issues when Connected to an Uninterruptible Power Supply/Power Strip/Surge Protector.

As for controlling the printer from the computer, the only thing that you will be able to do is print or use the scanning software to scan to the computer.

Controlling printer formatting from within program

Hi Experts,
I have a requirement in which the user wants to that the printer's default setting of format 'X_65_1024' should be changed to 'X_65_255' in case of if he executes this perticular report.
The output of the report is ALV list display.
Is it possible to control printer's setting from within the program?
I serached and found two FMs.
'SET_PRINT_PARAMETERS' and 'GET_PRINT_PARAMETERS' .
But I am unable to understand how to use these FMs.
Is there any other way to achieve this?
Any pointers to resolve this issue would be very helpful.

Calling a function from within a movieclip

How do I do this, and Is it wrong to do it this way?
I have a movieclip on the timeline and within that movieclip
it has buttons which I've placed listeners. I'm doing it this way
rather than putting the code in the document class because the
buttons don't appear right away in the movieclip (not until around
frame 10). The function is defined in the document class because it
is used with other movieclips.
Anyone have an idea on how to properly do this?

Well, I'm at least not getting an error - however, nothing is
happening when I click the button to call the function (which is
indeed public). Inside the function is a simple trace. I've even
added a param to the function just for fun, and there's no error
when calling the function from the button.

Call RFC enabled function from within VBA in BI 7.0

the problem that we have should be general, i have found some postings on this forum concerning it, but unfortunately no proper solutiont.
I just want to have the possibility to call the rfc enabled function module from within the callback function in VBA after executing of some query.
I have seen the suggestion to build a new RFC connection in VBA, but therefore you should hard-code all connection parameters (including user + password)
in the VBA code, this solution is for us not acceptable due to the security reasons.
Is there some way to use the existing connection of BEx Analyser in order to execute the function calls?
This functionality was possible in 3.5 but not in 7.0 since many functions that were available in 3.5 are not supported now.
Do you have experience/suggestions for this problem?
Any help would be great.

Calling a Member Function from within a Cursor in a Procedure

I'm a newbie to oracle and am in the process of learning 10G. My question is:
I created a type called row_po and defined a member function getCost() which returns the total cost of the order with line items as nested table, which i intend to call from within a procedure. In the procedure my SELECT returns multiple records and hence I need to use a cursor. For each record I've got to display the order_no, qty and order_cost (qty and order_cost are part of a line items nested table). I'm able to get to the order_no and qty but don't know how to call the member function to get the order_cost. Here's my procedure:

One way would be to just run the query in a editor (sqlplus or toad) and see whats the column name.
Before that can you show us the structure of the type.
If you declare a table type without an object then the default column name is COLUMN_VALUE else the object filed name is taken.
Example without object in table type.

Trying to call a root level function from within a loaded swf

I'm not very familiar with AS3... I'm trying to have a loaded swf file call a function from the parent to unload itself when it comes to the end (on the timeline, not as a button). I'm assuming I need to be calling the function (that is used for the close button) from the loaded swf (perhaps I'm mistaken though?).
Here's the code from one of my buttons that loads an swf. I'm guessing I need to call the closeSWF function from the timeline of my loaded movie but having no luck figuring out how to do that.
Any help would be appreciated.

You're exactly right. If you attach an event listener to the Loader before you add it to the stage, you can then use event.currentTarget to refer to the loader. And this is definitely the better way to do it if you're planning to use the loaded swf from multiple places or could ever need to do this in the future.

How do you save a pdf to Adobe Document Cloud from within Acrobat Pro DC?

I have a full Creative Cloud account so I now have the updated Acrobat Pro DC for both my pc and my iPhone.
On my iPhone, when I opened a pdf I was given the option to save the file to Document Cloud. But on the PC, how do I open this file or others on Document Cloud, and how do I save a file to Document Cloud?

Is it possible to control IP devices from within Muse?

I want to create a simple iPad app for my own use that will send IP commands wirelessly to devices on a LAN like video projectors. So simply explained these devices have a unique IP port and IP addresses that will accept ASCII strings to call inbuilt routines such as "PowerOn" or "Run Main Timeline", etc. I know this can be dine itch Flash or Air but I don't know how to code on those platforms. Is there a simple way to add buttons in Muse to send these kinds of IP messages?

Muse is not the right product for this. You're trying to build a native iOS device application.

Calling a Function from another Function within CFC

Hi all,
I have many functions in my CFC that do various things, but
one query is a query that selects absolutely every record from a
table.
The thing is, I need to do a query like this in another
function to obtain only a recordcount of the same table used in
both separate functions. Instead of writing the query out again,
how can I utilise the function already written?
My question is, how can I invoke and use the results of a
query in one cffunction for another cffunction in the same CFC
component?
An example may look like the code attached...
