Conversion from query to ABAP report

Hi,
I have already a query (report), displaying some data.working perfectly.
now i want to convert that Query to ABAP report, with same selection screen and functionality?
Is there any process for conversion or i have to create just like a normal report and writing the code....

There is no standard conversion available as such, but you can find out the Query Report name and then copy that to another program and make your changes. But it is preferable to just write it from the start as queries are notorious for their select statements.
I don't know why you intend to write a report even though your query is working, but if you want to do it, write your own program. You can always keep the same selection screen.

Bex Query in ABAP report

Can i call a BEx query in ABAP report and display in ALV grid. if so please give me the syntax.

Look at the FM "RSDRI_INFOPROV_READ".
With this you can read data into a internal table of your program.
With this FM, you can do a selective read and select only the key figures and characteristics that you wish to read in your ABAP.
I am not ure, if you can call a BEx report in your ABAP. But with what I mentioned here, you can acheive what you want.

Hi,
A report is a piece of logic that you write in (this case) in a programming language (ABAP). It uses the syntax of the normal commands of the PL.
ABAP Query is a higher level tool, that reduces or eliminates the need to "program" in the PL, and rather uses more intuitive, graphic tools, to basically get the same results.
Generally speaking, if the reporting needs are simple and standard, it is easy and feasible to use the query. The more complex the logic gets, the more you'll probably need to use programming.

Quicker conversion from query to structure

I have about fifteen queries that I convert to a request
structure so the query results are available in all my custom tags,
etc. Even though I'm caching all my queries I'd still like to speed
this code up a little.
Currently I'm using CFLOOP to go over the query results. I
heard once that CFOUTPUT is quicker... but is there a simple
conversion function that does the same thing, but maybe quicker?
I'm running MX7

You are right CFOUTPUT is faster then CFLOOP but we're
talking milliseconds most of the time.
I can't think of any faster way (besides using cfoutput
instead of cfloop). However im not really seeing what you are
trying to "convert".

ABAP Query Need to Convert ABAP Report

Dear All,
We have 3 queries which are linked to service management, now, user wants to consolidated one ABAP report with feilds of 3 queries, which consist of total 100 feilds. he want provision of downloading each single query (in ABAP report).
Is ther anyway whee we can pass all the 3 quries values in internal tables and pass to ABAP report?? is there any better way so that we will reduce the writing of big logic for 100 feilds??

for every query there is a

      SPOOL PARAMETERS wa_pri_params AND RETURN.
COMMIT WORK AND WAIT.
"create spool like above for three query and and capture in Spool and format the three spools

ABAP Report in WebDynpro

Hi all!
Is there a way to integrate ABAP Reports in Web Dynpro Applications? - apart from changing the ABAP Report in a way like: return a stringtab with all the results of the write statements of a report.

a further possibility of integration is via SAP Enterprise Portal: you create iViews both for the Web Dynpro application and the ABAP report; a loose coupling of the two iViews can be achieved through Object Based Navigation (e.g. to transfer startup parameters from the Web Dynpro iView to the ABAP Report iView).

Calling ABAP report from BEx query

Good day!
I want to call ABAP report from BEx query by right-clicking on the field and using context menu. I know that transaction RSBBS is used (sender-receiver connecting), but I don't know how to transfare data to ABAP program
In ABAP program I want to know at least data from those cell in BEx query, that was right-clicked.

Depending on your requirement and environment, you have the following options:
1. Use an info spoke and make selections as you would in a query.
2. USe FM RS_VC_GET_QUERY_VIEW_DATA_FLAT to send the data to a file and your ABAP can read this file.

Error while executing report from Query designer

Hi All,
When I am executing from query designer, I am getting following error.
Even I can't execute it from another portal where i created source system of BI server.
But i can execute queriew from Query analyser and t-code RSRT.
When I execute from Query desinger the url is as follows.

How to convert an ABAP Query into a report?

Use Tcode SQ01.
Give the query name press Enter.
The query will be listed in the table below.
Select the Query => From the Main menu select QUERY => More Functions => Display Report Name.
You will get the program name, now go to Se38 and display the program...

IP - Is it possible to call exit planning function from ABAP Report..

Greetings.
Is it possible to call exit planning function from ABAP Report (t-code SE38) ? Or I mean is not limited only to be called from ABAP Report, perhaps from BSP / Web-Dynpro / Function Module.
If somebody here has been doing it before, I'm keen to ask to kindly share it. Particularly how to call and transfer data to that exit function.
Or if somebody has done in BPS, appreciate if it can be shared too .

You can achive this as suggested by Mattias in your previous post.
Lets say you have next data structure:
CostCenter | Amount | PercentForDistibution |
Create input ready query in this format. Restrict cost center by variable type range.
Create WAD with analysis item.
When you run web page you enter range of cost centers (lets say you will enter 101004 to 101010).
I assume you have data only for 101004 in your cube (lets say 1000).
You will see only one record in your webpage.
CostCenter | Amount | PercentForDistibution |
101004       | 1000     | NOTHING
When you create WAD in analysis item properties set "NUMBER_OF_NEW_LINES" to lets say 1 (so in WAD you will see always one blank line for entering new data).
Just add 6 new records:
CostCenter | Amount   | PercentForDistibution |
101005       | NOTHING| 10
101006       | NOTHING| 30
101007       | NOTHING| 20
101008       | NOTHING| 25
101009       | NOTHING| 5
101010       | NOTHING| 10
Then run planning FOX function like this:
FOREACH Z_COST_CENTER.
IF {Amount, Z_COST_CENTER} <> 0
Z_AMNT_TO_DISTRIBUTE = {Amount, Z_COST_CENTER}.
ENDIF.
ENDFOR.
FOREACH Z_COST_CENTER.

It is not perfect FOX, but as an idead, it should work.

ABAP Reports and SAP Query

Hi Experts,
I have question regarding ABAP Reports, SAP Query, and Transaction with variant. How are we securing one the above reports that we assign them through pfcg. We can secure custom program by custom transaction or define the auth group in S_PROGRAM auth object but in this case we have to assign SA38 in production. is that correct?
Please help me understand difference between the ABAP reports and SAP query. Is the ABAP reports same as Program or they are different.

Hi,
1) End user security (role matrix coordinate with process team)
This role Matrix design is most important where we can put restrictions and use SoD.
2) Secure Table (by auth group)
Table TDDAT and use of transaction se54 for security tables to right auth Groups. Secure s_tabu_dis, s_tabu_cli.
3) Secure program (as you said ABAP reports are referred to Program)
Use of table TPGP and program RSCSAUTH for assignment of groups to Program. SA38 Running of SA38 requires a minimum SUBMIT in user Action. A user having SA38 is dangerous as he/she is now enabled to run any report. Hence protection in Auth Group is needed. Verify each and every program is having authority check statement and Auth Group or not before assigning sa38. As you mentioned its best to avoid SA38 and create CUSTOM TXN for each report.
(We should also SECURE S_DEVELOP in Production properly along with ur points. Please Note).
4) Secure some batch jobs roles for batch job
Secure by s_btch* objects and less access to se36.
5) Create support roles for cutover activity during Go-live
That is always needed. Go ahead.
6) Emergency roles & IT roles for support
This is very much needed as a role of Mitigation and Fire Fighting for Temporary access. Ensure to enable ur audit parameters in RZ10 (rsau* sm20,RSLG* for sm21). Give emergency access but enable audit via sm19 and get audit reports from sm20 and sm21 immediately after the use of emergency access.
There are also other auth objects we need to be care ful which is a long list and hope every body ensures that (s_cts,a_admi,s_trans, tables ssm_cust, prgn,t000) etc and a host of others. Besh wishes. Let us know if any issue.

As you said, I created virtual info cube based on function module.
In the info cube, I defined (4)dimensions and (1)key figure.
In the fucntion module, appropriate below parameters defined and code written for the data table (e_t_data)
