  • How to convert Java Objects into xml?

    Hello Java Gurus
    how to convert Java Objects into xml? i heard xstream can be use for that but i am looking something which is good in performance.
    really need your help guys.
    thanks in advance.

    There are apparently a variety of Java/XML bindings. Try Google.
    And don't be so demanding.

  • How to convert java object to xml?

    Is JAXB the only way to do so?
    Can somebody help me?
    I have tried for almost a week,
    but I am failed all the time.

    Sax would be the best way to do it,
    Create a class that implements the org.xml.sax.XMLReader interface. Fire events at its ContentHandler (like open tag, element content characters, and close tag) and it can be used to create a javax.xml.transform.sax.SAXSource.
    I learnt how to do this by looking at example code that comes with the pache FOP project. They have a class which is "converted" to XML, and that output is fed through a transformation. I cribbed their code and used it in mine. Including their helper classes AbstractObjectReader and EasyGenerationContentHandlerProxy which help a lot.
    Of course you never see the XML from the object, that's just a transitional form, but you COULD output that if you wanted. Take a look at http://xml.apache.org/fop/ - the code is bundled with the installation under the "examples" directory.

  • Design pattern for converting multiple complex Java objects to XML

    What is the traditionally accepted high performance mechanism for converting Java objects to XML? Some options I have explored are:
    1. SAX-JAXP
    2. DOM-JAXP
    3. JAXB
    4. Castor
    Which of these usually performs the best for large, complex objects which contain multiple subobjects?
    Thanks.

    Take a look at XStream. It will simplify your life considerably.
    Typical code snipped
    XStream xStream = new XStream();
    xStream.toXML(someJavaObject);That's it. Regarding the others...
    1. SAX-JAXP
    Can be used for XML -> Java Objects, but you have to write significant amounts of ugly, high maintainenance code
    2. DOM-JAXP
    Slower and more memory intensive than SAX because you need to read the whole object into memory first. Just as ugly and high maintenance.
    3. JAXB
    Actually very good for going from a POJO to XML, but rubbish in the opposite direction. The worst part is it adds an extra step to your build process as you need to tell it to generate and compile the source for doing this.
    4. Castor
    Not used it since JAXB came out. Works pretty much in the same way but also supports XML -> POJOs.

  • Convert MBox into XML into Java Objects

    Hello all,
    this is a general question, i dont know weather there is such libs or not.
    However, please tell me what you know.
    i want to program a java application for searching purpose in Mbox.
    i thought its possible and easier to try to convert the emails from the MBox into XML files, and from these create java objects when i need or even convert the XML into html for viewing.
    Any suggestions are welcome.
    Also antoher solutions are greate.
    thanks in advance!
    Sako.

    I don't know what this MBox you speak of is - I assume it's not the thing I use to hook upa guitar to GarageBand. Maybe you mean it as a generic term for mailbox? The easiest solution (to my mind) would be to use a Java API provided by whatever MBox is. If there is no such thing, then if you get XML-formatted version of the messages I suppose writing code to parse the XML into Java Objects would be a good option if you wanted to do further manipulation of them, but if all you want to do is display them as HTML in a browser then just use XSLT to transform them.
    Good Luck

  • API for converting a Java object into XML?

    Do you know of any Java API that I could use to convert a Java

  • Converting XML to Java Objects...possible?

    Hi, Am a newbie to JAXB. As far as I read, JAXB has facility to convert "XSD" (not XML) to Java "classes" (not objects). This can be done using xjc compiler. Can XML files (i.e. ones with data) be converted to Java objects (retaining the data from XML files)? If yes, please throw some light on how it can be done. If no, then is there some java technology to do such a thing?
    Thanks.

  • Not able to convert SOAP object to java object

    Hi,
    I was able to get SOAP Response, but in that response string field is not able to be transformed into java object.
    Can you be able to give suggestion to solve this problem.
    Thanks in advance,

    Hi,
    You need to provide an example value that's failing and the date formats in the reference data you're using. It's more than likely you don't have the correct format in your ref data.

  • Java objects to Flex

    Hopefully this is the right forum, if not pleas accept my
    apologies.
    We need to return dollars and percent type numbers from java
    back to Flex using the BlazeDS interface.
    When I create a Java test object to return that looks like:
    public class Test2 implements Serializable{
    private String abc = "abc";
    private Date sqlDate;
    private Time sqlTime;
    private Timestamp timestamp;
    private BigDecimal bd;
    private float lFloat;
    private Float bFloat;
    private double lDouble;
    private Double bDouble;
    The constructor fills in values and the java server (JBoss)
    returns the object back to Flex. The matching flex object looks
    like:
    [Bindable]
    public class Test2
    public var abc:String;
    public var sqlDate:Date;
    public var sqlTime:Date;
    public var timestamp:Date;
    public var bd:Number;
    public var lFloat:Number;
    public var bFloat:Number;
    public var lDouble:Number;
    public var bDouble:Number;
    } /* Test2*/
    when I print out the returned object using the trace command,
    I get:
    ReferenceError: Error #1056: Cannot create property BFloat on
    jdbcTables.businessdelegate.Test2.
    ReferenceError: Error #1056: Cannot create property LFloat on
    jdbcTables.businessdelegate.Test2.
    ReferenceError: Error #1056: Cannot create property LDouble
    on jdbcTables.businessdelegate.Test2.
    t2.bd=3.03
    t2.lFloat=NaN
    t2.bFloat=NaN
    t2.lDouble=NaN
    t2.bDouble=NaN
    If I read
    http://livedocs.adobe.com/flex/2/docs/wwhelp/wwhimpl/common/html/wwhelp.htm?context=LiveDo cs_Parts&file=00001103.html
    correctly these fields should be converted properly.
    Am I missing something or is the web page wrong? Is there
    another kind of Java object can I use to return a floating point
    number, I really don't like BigDecimal, it's sooo expensive.
    Thanks
    Bill Tims

    Ok, I figured out THIS problem. The real issue is the
    capitalization of the name. If I use an upper case character as the
    2nd character, blaze and flex don't see that they are variable,
    i.e. aBcd as a variable name doesn't work, whereas abcd does work.
    Since this problem doesn't appear on the PHP side, I'm guessing the
    problem is on the Blaze side.

    I have used a mapping file to get this output.Is there a way where i can get the output xml in the following format without changing the Java object structure.If yes then please suggest how this can be done.
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" ?>
    - <customer ID="fbs0001">
    <FIRSTNAME>Fred</FIRSTNAME>
    <MIDDLENAME>B</MIDDLENAME>
    <LASTNAME>Scerbo</LASTNAME>
    </customer>
    <ADDRESS>
    <FIRSTLINE>No 18, Sheshadri road</FIRSTLINE>
    <SECONDLINE>Gandhinagar Bangalore</SECONDLINE>
    </ADDRESS>
    - <ADDRESS>
    <FIRSTLINE>ITPL</FIRSTLINE>
    <SECONDLINE>Whitefield Bangalore</SECONDLINE>
    </ADDRESS>
    I mean the output xml file should have the address as a separate tag not withing the root tag customer.

    Hello,
    Castor's own discussion groups might be able to point you to the solution you're looking for (if this use case is possible using Castor).
    Oracle has its own object-to-XML mapping tool that is part of the TopLink product. It allows you to map existing objects to an existing XML Schema. This can be done visually using the TopLink Workbench, or programmatically using the TopLink APIs. TopLink OXM also supports the JAXB specification.
    Using TopLink OXM to get the desired XML result I would recommend the following. Map the Customer and Address classes to XML, but don't map the relationship between Customer and Address. Then make the calls to the marshaller something like the following:
    marshaller.marshal(aCustomer, System.out);
    for(int x=0; x<aCustomer.getAddress().size(); x++) {
         marshal(aCustomer.getAddress().get(x), System.out);
    Example - Using TopLink OXM to map an existing object model to an existing XML Schema:

  • Empty strings when passing a Java object to a Stored Procedure

    Hi,
    I'm using the interface SQLData to pass Java objects to StoredProcedures. All the object's attributes 'arrive' to the Stored Procedure ok, except the strings, which are empty.
    Here is my Oracle object:
    TYPE OBJ_ASJFF_OBJ1 IS OBJECT (
    ARG1 CHAR(3),
    ARG2 NUMBER(4),
    ARG3 CHAR(4),
    ARG4 NUMBER(7),
    ARG5 NUMBER(13,2),
    ARG6 CHAR(1));
    The nested table of that object:
    TYPE TAB_ASJFF_OBJ1 AS TABLE OF OBJ_ASJFF_OBJ1;
    The procedure declaration:
    PROCEDURE Pup_Instaura_Processo (                              x_crCert IN TAB_ASJFF_OBJ1,
    x_cResult OUT CHAR(4)
    My SQLData implementation:
    public void writeSQL(SQLOutput stream) throws SQLException {
                   stream.writeString(getArg1());
                   stream.writeInt(getArg2().intValue());
                   stream.writeString(getArg3());
                   stream.writeLong(getArg4().longValue());
                   stream.writeBigDecimal(getArg5());
                   stream.writeString(getArg6());
    Can anybody help me?
    Thanks in advance

  • Explicit cast needed to convert java.* to to oracle.*

    Hello,

    I keep getting the following error on the webserver:

              cstmt = con.prepareCall("call eaicl_p_requirement.open_rule_dtl(?,?)");
              ^
    I'm not sure how to fix it. I also need to pass the p_product_id parameter to the procedure.
    Hope someone can point me in the right direction. Thanks.

    Here's how you do an explicit cast:cstmt = (OracleCallableStatement)con.prepareCall("call eaicl_p_requirement.open_rule_dtl(?,?)");
