Converting an sap file output program into xml output

Hi,
I have developed a program from which i am able to generate outptut as a file. Since this file is going to be used by the third party system, user has come back asking me to generate an conversion program into xml of the file output.
Since i have not handled previously about generating the xml conversion program. Please let me know how to do this or if you could provide me the sample program it will be great.
Thanks in advance.

Hello
Just for example:
data: itab type standard table of sflight.
data: xml_out type string,xmltab type swbhtmltable.
select * from sflight into table itab.
call transformation ('ID')
source tab = itab[]
result xml xml_out.
call function 'SWA_STRING_TO_TABLE'
exporting
character_string = xml_out
importing
character_table = xmltab.
if sy-subrc <> 0.
MESSAGE ID SY-MSGID TYPE SY-MSGTY NUMBER SY-MSGNO
WITH SY-MSGV1 SY-MSGV2 SY-MSGV3 SY-MSGV4.
endif.
call function 'GUI_DOWNLOAD'
exporting
filetype = 'BIN'
filename = 'C:\xmlfile.xml'
tables
data_tab = xmltab.

It's really a little difficult to answer your question without a bit more information. What version of JDeveloper are you using? What's your technology stack?
If this is JDeveloper 11+g+, with the Fusion technology stack, you can use a technique like the one described here:
http://groundside.com/blog/GrantRonald.php?title=jdeveloper_11_business_services_cascadin&more=1&c=1&tb=1&pb=1
If it's JDeveloper 10.1.3, with the default Web technology stack, look here:
http://radio.weblogs.com/0118231/stories/2004/09/23/notYetDocumentedAdfSampleApplications.html#62
If, as it looks like, this is really a question about generic JSPs (no JSF), you might actually have a bit more success on a generic JSP forum--using scriptlets hasn't really been best practices within JDev since...well, since JSTL became available, really. That was a number of years ago.
Like I said, there's really no direct way to use Javascript output in a scriptlet--unless you mean something like storing Javascript output in a hidden field, and using the value in a scriptlet on the next request. But by the time Javascript runs, any scriptlet from the current request will already have executed.

how do I convert a Pages file (a form) into another programme like Word or InDesign? I do not have Pages

In OS X Pages '09 v4.3, do not be tempted to File > Save... copy as Word document. Instead, you want to export (or Share as Mail), both the PDF and the Word Documents.
If you choose Share > Send as Mail > PDF (and/or Word), make sure that in Apple Mail, that your composition window has Send Windows-Friendly Attachments selected. You can enable this from the paper-clip icon on the Mail composition window toolbar.

• Need to reference file name within the XML Output

Not sure if this is possible, as I'm new to the livecycle/XML world. But I need to be able to reference a file within the XML output from the PDF.
The Scenario is that a pdf form of a business card will be issued to 50 franchisees for them to type in their names and mobiles, click submit and the XML file to be sent to myself, and be imported in to InDesign populating their data ready for printing. Up to here I have it working perfectly.
However as each franchisee have a combination of up to 5 logos to place in the bottom corner to save having to have various templates with different combinations of logos and having to ensure the correct templates are used. I intend to reference each companies combination as an EPS and make the reference within the xml out and have it import directly in with the other data. I can type the code directly within the xml but I would like to have the form reference it directly in the xml output. Is this possible or am expecting to much of livecycle? Any help/advice greatly appreciated.

• How to download and convert RTF/DOC file in DMS into PDF file

Hello.
We're on ECC6.0. We have a requirement to get the *.doc or *.rtf file checked in DMS, convert it to pdf format and download it as *.pdf file. The document data is stored in DRAO-ORBLK (LRAW data type). Has anyone programmatically done this? What is the process to achieve this? I've read in the forum that you should first convert RTF(.doc) data to OTF format using CONVERT_RTF_TO_ITF and then you will get the script format from rtf data. Generate the spool using the script data. Convert the spool to PDF using CONVERT_OTFSPOOLJOB_2_PDF. However, the fm CONVERT_RTF_TO_ITF uses RAW data type. There's also fm CONVERT_OTF_2_PDF but I don't know how to implement this for my purpose.
Also, if Adobe Distiller is installed on the SAP application server, can it be used from an ABAP pgm?
Thanks in advance for your inputs.

I realize this a rather old post, but was wondering if you managed to do this as I am having a similar requirement. Appreciate if you could share any solution or findings.

• Extracting xmltype from table into xml output: redundant nodes

Hi guys - see the below example. (edit: sorry, haven't used these forums for a while and can't seem to figure out how to format code.....)

11              )
12  select 1,x_data

SQL> select *

ITEM_ID
X_DATA
1
<x_data dummyattr="1">

blah

more blah

</x_data>
1 row selected.
SQL>
SQL> select xmlelement("outerelement"
2                   ,xmlelement("itemID", item_id)
3                   ,xmlelement("x_data",x_data)
4                   )
5     from mytesttable;
XMLELEMENT("OUTERELEMENT",XMLELEMENT("ITEMID",ITEM_ID),XMLELEMENT("X_DATA",X_DATA))
<outerelement><itemID>1</itemID><x_data><x_data dummyattr="1">

more blah

</x_data>
</x_data></outerelement>
1 row selected.
[/code]
As the above, I have an xmltype in a table which has other non-xmltype columns. I have a requirement to extract them out into a single xml document in a similar way to the last SQL there.
the problem is if I do it as per the above, I artificially add a redundant node. the first <x_data> node is not necessary, but how do I go and add the xmltype column to the result without having to qualify it with another element around it?
i.e. how do I get the following:
<outerelement><itemID>1</itemID><x_data dummyattr="1">

blah

more blah

</x_data></outerelement>

nevermind.. I was having a dumb moment:
select xmlelement("outerelement"
,xmlelement("itemID", item_id)
,x_data
from mytesttable;

• Convert text string file to object array without outputting to file first?

I have a log file that is just a text string file which is appended to with Out-File. If the log file does not exist I pipe headers to it so that I can import the data as CSV. For example:
DATA.LOG
DATE,TIME,RESPONSE_TIME
05-28-2014, 14:47, 132
05-28-2014, 14:50, 94
05-28-2014, 14:53, 72
I'm using Microsoft Chart Controls to graph the data; it takes it in via CSV format. If I'm going to chart all the entries in DATA.LOG I can simply IMPORT-CSV DATA.LOG. But I only want to graph the 20 most recent entries.
Perhaps there is a better way to do this, but to maintain the header and get the 20 most recent entries I'm using select.
$DATA+=Get-Content .\data.log | select -first 1
$DATA+=Get-Content .\data.log | select -last 20
The problem is $DATA is of type system string so I can't use it directly with Chart Controls; I need to get it in CSV format first. I can Out-File $DATA and then use IMPORT-CSV. But I'd prefer to not have to use
the temporary file. Any suggestions on how I can accomplish this objective?

Import-CSV creates an object with the 'header' becoming the named values in the array. The code I posted does the same thing as your 4 lines of code in one line of code:
Much more quickly:
PS C:\temp> (1..1000 | measure-command {import-csv .\data.log | select -last 2}).totalseconds
0.4792951
PS C:\temp> (1..1000 | measure-command {$DATATMP=@();$DATATMP+=Get-Content .\data.log | select -first 1;$DATATMP+=Get-Content .\data.log | select -last 2;ConvertFrom-CSV $DATATMP}).totalseconds
1.6227726
You're more than welcome to use whatever code you want, but if you want to improve your Powershell knowledge you should try to understand the object model around which Powershell is built, it is powerful and efficient.
I hope this post has helped!

• Convert MBox into XML into Java Objects

Hello all,
this is a general question, i dont know weather there is such libs or not.
However, please tell me what you know.
i want to program a java application for searching purpose in Mbox.
i thought its possible and easier to try to convert the emails from the MBox into XML files, and from these create java objects when i need or even convert the XML into html for viewing.
Any suggestions are welcome.
Also antoher solutions are greate.
thanks in advance!
Sako.

I don't know what this MBox you speak of is - I assume it's not the thing I use to hook upa guitar to GarageBand. Maybe you mean it as a generic term for mailbox? The easiest solution (to my mind) would be to use a Java API provided by whatever MBox is. If there is no such thing, then if you get XML-formatted version of the messages I suppose writing code to parse the XML into Java Objects would be a good option if you wanted to do further manipulation of them, but if all you want to do is display them as HTML in a browser then just use XSLT to transform them.
Good Luck
