Converting from Sinlge-Node Oracle Apps Instance to 2 Node Instance

Hi,
I am in the process converting my Single Instance Oracle Apps 11.5.10.2 instance on Windows 2003 server to a 2 Node instance. I want to move the DB Tier only to another Windows 2003 server.
Plz suggest how I can achieve this. Can I use 'adcfgclone appsTier' to get this done.
Rgds,
Thiru

1) Run "perl adpreclone.pl dbTier" on the source database node
2) Run "perl adpreclone.pl appsTier" on the source application node
3) Shutdown the application/database services and copy the(<sid>db, and <sid>data) directories to the target node
4) Run "perl adcfgclone.pl dbTier" on the target database node
5) Make sure the database and the database listener are up and running
6) Run "perl adcfgclone.pl appsTier" on the source application node
7) Start the application services

  • Migrate Oracle Apps Instance from one server to another

    Hi All,
We are planning on migrating our Production Oracle Apps Instance(11.5.10.2 and 9.2.0.8) on HP Tru64 UNIX OS on one server to a different server(Node name change) with the same OS. This is a single node, single OS user instance(Apps and DB on the same box). Can you please give me a brief idea on how to go about doing this?
    Thank you.

Since you will be using the same OS, then you can simply use Rapid Clone to migrate the Application/Database.
Rapid Clone Documentation Resources, Release 11i and 12 [ID 799735.1]
Make sure you have all OS pre-req. software and packages installed on the target nodes before you clone the instance.

  • Copying OA page definition from MDS of 1 APPS instance to other

    Hi,
    Summary:
How to copy page definition from MDS of one instance to other?
    In Detail
I am moving my OAF application from one APPS instance(say A) to other(say B).
In instance 'A' I have uploaded the OA pages using import command.
But I can do the same in instance 'B'
A third party vendor needs to copy the page definition from MDS in instance A to instance B.
    How can it be done?
    Thanks,
    Gowtam.

If a third party is involved, then I will suggest to use the Functional Administrator resposnsibility to export and import the personaizations through a nice GUI. It gives you the option to search for personalization by applications and document path. Exported docs get saved to a directory as specified throught the profile option "FND: Personalization Document Root Path". Same can be used to import to the next instance.
You can also look at the Dev guide for more details and note 370734.1.

  • Keys lost in converting from sybase to oracle

I am trying to convert from sybase 12 to oracle 10 using the migration workbench.
The oracle data base created does not have the primary keys that were in the sybase data base. I used the tool to create migration scripts, Create.sql and Drop.sql. These scripts create the tables but do not have primary keys in them.
Another question is I have user types from the sybase database. Is it possible to change them in the tool? Right now it looks like I can only change the basic database types as in smallInt.

    Hi <Please Supply Your Name>,
What version of SQL Developer are you using?
"Create.sql" and "Drop.sql" sound like old OMWB names, Just want to double check.
    Thanks

  • How to publish a report from Discoverer  to Oracle App. Server

    Hi,
I am just getting into this. I glanced through admin & desktop user guides(10g Release 2 (10.1.2.1)) for information on how to publish the end report developed using discoverer desktop onto Oracle Application server?
Do anyone of you know which tool allows me to do that?
( perhaps, this would be a silly question to ask. But I got a bit inpatient in knowing about it)
    Thanks,
    Sun

You are correct, the viewer will provide that functionality, it is a web tool that they can use to view the saved workbooks.
There are some differences between the plus and the desktop, for example:
    1. The desktop should be installed on every end user computer in order to run reports while the plus is installed on IAS server and all the user referred to it.
    2. you cannot install the desktop on any operating system other then windows.
    3. there are functionality differences between the 2 apps like: in the desktop you can perform sub query that you cannot create in the plus (you can use a pre built)
    4. in the desktop you can save the workbooks locally, in the Plus you can save to the database only.

  • Converting from rpt to oracle reports

    hello all
i ld like to know if i can convert report in RPT to oracle report ,and how i can do it , if its possible ?
    regards

    Hi ,
With what application is RPT is generated ? Oracle Reports supports extensions only like RDF, REX, REP, XML(Report XML type), JSP(Report JSP type), TDF(Report template binary file).
Oracle Reports converter application(rwconverter.exe in 9i) allows different conversions possible. This application has a UI which will list you all the source types that are allowed as drop-down list and one another drop-down for Destination types.
    Hope this helps.
    Thanks,

Can someone throw light on this? If someone has working sample of this, can you mail it to [email protected]?

    Nipun,
WebLogic and OC4J are not the same thing. That's like saying Oracle and SQL Server are the same thing -- or C++ and Java are the same thing.
I recall a posting to a forum (don't remember if it was this one), where the poster was complaining that some feature of the application server he had previously used, was not supported by OC4J. Turned out that the feature he was referring to, contradicted the J2EE specification -- which is why it wasn't available in OC4J. In other words, he didn't like the fact that OC4J was more compliant with the J2EE specification than his "other" application server. Go figure!
So, if you haven't already done so, I suggest you verify that this feature of WebLogic is something that complies with the J2EE specifications -- before expecting OC4J to support the same feature.
And if it's not clear, from the specifications, then every vendor is free to implement this feature (or not).
So if it turns out that WebLogic is a more appropriate application server for you -- then why not just stick with it (and forget the others)?
    Good Luck,
    Avi.

  • How to check the Oracle Apps version 11.5.10.2 or 11.5.10.1

    Hi,

I have a basic question. How can I check the version
fo my oracle apps instances. Whether it is 11.5.10 or
CU1 or CU2.- From the application, navigate to Help > About

    SQL> select release_name
    from fnd_product_groups;
Also, how to find what all patchsets were included in each version.Check "List of Included Patches" section:
