Converting objects to images..possible?

hi,
is there a way to convert an object, of my own type, into an image? suppose i wanted to allow the user to draw an image using there mouse and now wanted to convert that into a jpg once saved, can this be done?

When you say "image", do you mean "image file"? If so, you'll be pleased to know that there's lots of source code for saving BufferedImages as JPEGs in the Java2D forum.

Hi.I am new to Jave and am developing an application
which has to send painted shapes(using SWING) to a mail id.
I think it can be done in two steps
1) Converting the paint objects to images.
2} sending the image
However I don't have a clue regarding the first step
and have only a rough idea about the 2nd.
Please suggest a solution.

you can try using the Robot call and calling the screencapture method, giving the the correct parameter values should allow it to get the image you want only, this will return a BufferedImage object, you can search the forums on how to convert a BufferedImage object to an image there are plently of examples floating around.

WDJ convert base64binary to image

Hi Guys,
I have an issue where I want to display an image that is stored in a base64binary Business Object attribute on an application service and convert it back to an image on the WDJ view.
I have tried first displaying the response content as text, what comes back seems to be a relative path i.e. ../../folder1/folder2/image.jpg
followed by a whole stream of session-id looking numbers.
That obviously didnt work as it was relative & i tried adding the correct start for the path but that didnt work either.
I then tried looking at taking the .toString() of the response attribute & setting that as reference for an image. Unfortunately that doesnt work either.
I'm now stuck with ideas. I know that it is possible as the WS Navigator can provide the file as a download.
Any ideas or pointers for where to look.
Also, any thoughts about whether base64binary is the right attribute to be storing the image as.

Problem in converting text to image.

Hi I am trying to convert a text to image. The code for the same is pasted below. The problem is how do I change the background color. No matter what color I give with Graphics2D object, the background is always black. I want a white background.

Probably because you didn't draw the background. Use the fillRect(...) method to paint the background using the color your want.

Pages for iOS converts movies to images on ePub export

It appears that Pages for iOS is able to use the Apple-supplied template for ePub export that was originally developed for Pages in the iWork '09 suite. However, when I add video to a document and then export to ePub, Pages for iOS issues this message in the Export Details:
Some changes were made to your exported documnet.
Movies were converted to images.
The movies play fine in Pages for iOS, they just don't get exported when ePub is chosen despite the fact that iBooks for iOS will handle video embedded in ePub perfectly well.
Since Pages for MacOS X exports to ePub without converting movies to images, this appears to be a major parity issue. Apple has gone to some lengths to reach parity between MacOS X, iOS and iCloud with respect to iWork and iLife app suites and has gotten considerable heat over those efforts, I have to wonder whether I've missed something in coming to this sad conclusion. Have I?

It sounds as if your caption is beneath the object to which it's referencing. If so, you can either do one of two things. The first thing (and doesn't require any XHTML knowledge) is to place the caption above the image (a bit unconventional in comparision to dead-tree printing). This will cause the e-reader to begin the page with the caption (the linked item) and thus contain the object of reference below, ensuring it's on the same page for viewing.
Another option, and a more elegant solution (but more technical), is to open the EPUB file with an app like BBEdit or TextMate. Both of these apps can open an EPUB file without having to unzip the file. With the file open, navigate to the file in which you want to make your edit (which will be located in the OEBPS folder). Run a Regex search for your caption title (regex \bcaption\b) and ensure you've found the correct location. Locate your <a id="caption" /> destination anchor. The code just above this anchor should be your image. Remove this code above the image with a p class, like so: <p class="caption"><a id="caption1" /> </p>. This effectively forces the ereader to display the object of reference.

There may arise some smaller corruption states that may be cured by what you did, as you can see in the list. Sometimes, restarting thrice is needed.
The following is a general list of things you may try when the issue is not in a specific file (you may have tried/done some of them already); 1) and 2) are the easy ones for temporary strangenesses, and 3) and 4) are specifically aimed at possibly corrupt preferences); 5) is a list in itself, and 6) is the last resort.
If possible/applicable, you should save curent artwork first, of course.
1) Close down Illy and open again;
2) Restart the computer (you may do that up to 3 times);
3) Close down Illy and press Ctrl+Alt+Shift/Cmd+Option+Shift during startup (easy but irreversible);
4) Move the folder (follow the link with that name) with Illy closed (more tedious but also more thorough and reversible);
5) Look through and try out the relevant among the Other options (follow the link with that name, Item 7) is a list of usual suspects among other applications that may disturb and confuse Illy, Item 15) applies to CC, CS6, and maybe CS5);
Even more seriously, you may:
6) Uninstall, run the Cleaner Tool (if you have CS3/CS4/CS5/CS6/CC), and reinstall.

Web-UI error message "Access via 'NULL' object reference not possible"

I need some help, I'm not a Basis person but I need to get this connection problem resolve.
This problem is in our DEV ICWeb system. After logging in to Web-UI, I got a error message "Access via 'NULL' object reference not possible". We have 3 clients (100, 220, & 310) in DEV and all 3 clients are giving me the same error message.

but in the document it asked to go to SM59 to check the ESH_APPL_WS_TEMPLATEENGINE destination. But we don't have that destination setup in all our systems.

Convert a Tiff Image to png and show

Numbers the iWorks program? Not sure you can convert it to that or just a list of numbers. Never heard of anyone that would even want to convert an Image file, Photo, to any other format. Other then another image format like JPG, PNG or a PSD Photoshop file.

Im getting the below error , actually recently i created my own custom table zstudent, later i wrote select query to fetch data from the same and dump at internal table and then bind this to the table node.
But im getting below error, even i removed the select query still same error is occuring.

Acutally i accidentally commented the lo_nd_student = wd_context ....etc
this line was commented .
i have one small requirement to fetch data from local customised table and fill the same to internal table and bind that to table node.
my table node is student having attributes as name , city and number , all are of type strings.
now i created one custom table zstudent having ID - char of length 10,
name of type string
city of type string
num of type string
i have inserted records
but when i use select query to fill data from this zstudent to my internal table of type lt_student type wd_this->elements_student ,
im getting same above error.

How can i convert object to byte array very*100 fast?

i need to transfer a object by datagram packet in embeded system.
i make a code fallowing sequence.
1) convert object to byte array ( i append object attribute to byte[] sequencailly )
2) send the byte array by datagram packet ( by JNI )
but, it's not satisfied my requirement.
it must be finished in 1ms.
but, converting is spending 2ms.
network speed is not bottleneck. ( transfer time is 0.3ms and packet size is 4096 bytes )
Using ObjectOutputStream is very slow, so i'm using this way.
is there antoher way? or how can i improve?

now, i use udp socket for communication, but, i must use hardware pci communication later.
so, i wrap the communication logic to use jni.
for convert a object to byte array,
i used ObjectInputStream before, but it was so slow.
so, i change the implementation to use byte array directly, like ByteBuffer.

hi ,
The attribute M_HANDLER is an attirbute of component controller (as told by your post) and so you cannot access it as you have done it.
You will have to access it as .
WD_COMP_CONTROLLER->M_HANDLER->GET_RANGE_TABLE_OF_SEL_FIELD(I_ID = 'S_CARR_ID' ).
Try doing it.
Or else , if you have created a similar attribute in your view itself , then it is "INITIAL" and hence you are getting the dump.
You will have to assign the view attribute "M_HANDLER" with the value of your component controller attribute "M_HANDLER" ,because all the initializations are done in WDDOINIT of comp controller and on component controller atribute "M_HANDLER".

Runtime error in WebDynpro - Access via 'NULL' object reference not possibl

    Structure of the CONTEXT in the VIEW::
     WDSCREEN1
          --> IMPORTING
                     --> S_KUNNR   <- its a select option
          --> EXPORTING
                    --> T_REPORT <- Which is table to hold the output data (with 4 fields)
   In the context area i have root node (WDSCREEN1) and Sub nodes are IMPORTING and EXPORTING and child nodes as shown above. When i am referring them everything is fine except T_REPORT.
