Cookie functions for Forms C/S ???

Hi,
cookies in the web world are very important
but can we also create a value transfer from / to
Forms C/S and Web Forms with setter and getter functions ?
Any suggestions ?
Thanks
Friedhold

Friedhold,
for Webforms, there exist a cookie sample in the Forms9i demos that allows to read and write cookies from/to teh client browser. For client/server you could use waht is suggested by Eugeniy, but I wouldn't suggest the registry for this because it seems to be a too sophisticated place to mess up with for exchanging messages.

• Additional functions for form creation

Is there any additional functions for selecting members for forms.
For example ILvl0Descendants used to be hidden and if you knew the syntax you could type it in. Now of course it is an option but wondering if there might be others that are still hidden but work.
Specifically I want to use @UDA but if there are others they might fufill my needs.
Ultimately kind of annoying that forms don't allow for all the standard functions available in Planning and Essbase

Hi,
You can't currrently (11.1.1.3) use UDA, the current list is :-

• Built-in functions for Forms in Oracle AS 10g

Hi,
We have recently installed form and report services for AS10g.
Altough we have successfully converted and deployed static 6i forms to the server, the built in functions (like CALL FORM etc.) doesn't work.
For instance a form is diplayed and is able to retrieve data but it does actually nothing when a button is pressed with underlying CALL_FORM, SET_WINDOW_PROPERTY functions.
In our developer's devSuite these functions work fine, so I wonder if some service to be added to the server side.
Any help will be appreciated,
Thanks,
Guney Hanedan

If your development and target systems are different make sure you regenerate the FMX files...also make sure you have the correct case....in windows CALL_FORM('FormA') is will call a form called FORMA or ForMA or FORma..if you are deployed on unix or linux this will fail .

• Border function for form elements

Hi Photoshop Team,
in Photoshop CC there is the option to change the border radius. For the beginning it's
working fine so far. But what I'm still missing is the option to set the stroke only to determined
sides (top, right, bottom, left). Well there is a workaround for this using inside shadow, but
this is not very userfriendly and I can't add the border only to the top and bottom of the
element.
Anyway, cool would be a function to add such styles (border-radius, borders) via predefined
style option. If I would have 5 boxes I just want to add that style via one click and if I think,
the border radius is to much, I only have to change the parameters at one place.
This function would be also very useful in InDesign and Illustrator.
Thx.
Florian

I would use an HTML parser for that sort of task. But if you're planning to use plain old String methods for breaking the file apart, two of the methods you might consider are toUpperCase() and toLowerCase().

• Equivalent Sql function for Forms NAME_IN() built in

Please let me know, is there any equivalent Sql function equivalent to Forms Name_in() built in. Thanks.

What would such a function do in pure SQL? Or are you asking if you can refer to Forms variables in SQL that you issue from Forms?
The answer to the first question I will delay until you define what it is that you want to do. The answer to the second question is that there is no way to do that. The database has no way of knowing how to resolve references to variables defined in client side PLSQL.

• Issue for Form 16 and tax Computation on Salary to Employees

Dear All
Can Anybody suggest a way out for the following -
We have to issue form 16 as per Indian income tax laws to employees. is there any method for computation of tax on salary or any development is required for the same. As per the Indian income Tax law a computation sheet is to be issued to an emmployee wherein his actaul salary earned ( say for two months) plus his estimated salary for remaining 10 months is to be given and employee in turn returns back the form duly signed in. how this computation sheet works in SAP ?
Pl guide.
Regards
Rakesh Choudhary

Hi Rakesh,
this computation happens inside INTAX payroll function for India Payroll. ya its true that there is no standard SAP report to do this. But u can all the annual computation wage type in the RT (/4** wage types).
If u want a seperate report to this then u can go for some Z development. But u dnt need to write the whole computation logic inside that. Instead of this u can use /4** wage types for the same.

• Logical Functions In Forms?

We have a basic Excel form that we are converting to PDF since our users don't have Excel on their PCs. Anyway, it is a very simple form where the user enters data into three fields and then two calculations are automatically performed using Divsion. But when we put it into PDF, it keeps telling us one of the calculated fields is in the wrong format when one of the entry fields is empty. The calculated fields are set as Percentage. This is the formula in Excel? Can we transcribe it over to PDF? =IF(R)=0,0,(W/R)
Or is there a better way to have it ignore empty fields?
Thank you

Yes you can test for a logical true or logical false value and control the execution of the code. It is even possible to set an object's property that has a true of false value with the result of a logical comparison. This can be done with a document level function for the division that can be used within the entire form and custom JavaScript calculation for a field.
// document level function for use in entire form
function Divide(nDividend, nDivisor) {
// divide nDividend by nDivisor and return result
return nDivisor == 0? 0 : nDividend / nDivisor;
} // end Divide function
// end of document level function
// custom calculation script for a field
// values to process
var W = this.getField("W").value;
var R = this.getField("R").value;
// perform division
event.value = Divide(W, R);
// end of custom calculation script

• Error when running URL returned by GET_RUN_FUNCTION_URL for form INVIDITM

Hi All,
I'm trying to launch form INVIDITM with an URL returned by PL/SQL API FND_RUN_FUNCTION.GET_RUN_FUNCTION_URL. To generate appropriate URL I call GET_RUN_FUNCTION_URL like the following:
DECLARE
P_FUNCTION_NAME VARCHAR2(200);
P_RESP_APPL VARCHAR2(200);
P_RESP_KEY VARCHAR2(200);
P_SECURITY_GROUP_KEY VARCHAR2(200);
P_PARAMETERS VARCHAR2(200);
P_OVERRIDE_AGENT VARCHAR2(200);
P_ORG_ID NUMBER;

P_ENCRYPTPARAMETERS BOOLEAN;
v_Return VARCHAR2(2000);
BEGIN
P_FUNCTION_NAME := 'INV_INVIDITM_ORG';
P_RESP_APPL := 'MSC';
P_RESP_KEY := 'MANUFACTURING_SUPER_USER_ASCP';
P_SECURITY_GROUP_KEY := 'STANDARD';
P_PARAMETERS := 'org_id=208 item_id=216955';
P_OVERRIDE_AGENT := NULL;
P_ORG_ID := NULL;
P_LANG_CODE := 'US';
P_ENCRYPTPARAMETERS := NULL;
v_Return := FND_RUN_FUNCTION.GET_RUN_FUNCTION_URL(
P_FUNCTION_NAME => P_FUNCTION_NAME,

P_ENCRYPTPARAMETERS => P_ENCRYPTPARAMETERS
DBMS_OUTPUT.PUT_LINE('v_Return = ' || v_Return);
END;
With this I get an URL like:
http://<hostname>:<port>/OA_HTML/RF.jsp?function_id=1192&resp_id=56233&resp_appl_id=724&security_group_id=0&lang_code=US&params2=org_id%3D208%20item_id%3D216955
Running this URL, I get the error message:
"APP-FND-01016: Routine FDFRKS: Unknown structure ID for flexfield code GL number with application ID 101"
Can anybody tell me how to fix this, or if I missed specifying any more parameters in P_PARAMETERS?
Any help is highly appreciated...
Thanks and Regards

Hi,
I got some help for this problem from Oracle support community: Setting paramter CHART_OF_ACCOUNTS_ID.
This seems to solve the problem. I don't get the error message any more, when setting the following:
P_PARAMETERS := 'org_mode=N chart_of_accounts_id=101 org_id=208 org_code=S1 item_id=216955';
Nevertheless, I still have problems with getting the correct parameter settings for form BOMFDBOM (form functions: BOM_BOMFDBOM, ENG_BOMFDBOM):
1. Trying to display a BOM with a specified alternate (e.g. EBOM) doesn't work. I pass the following parameter values to funtion GET_RUN_FUNCTION_URL:
P_FUNCTION_NAME := 'BOM_BOMFDBOM';
P_RESP_APPL := 'MSC';
P_RESP_KEY := 'MANUFACTURING_SUPER_USER_ASCP';
P_SECURITY_GROUP_KEY := 'STANDARD';
P_PARAMETERS := 'org_id=204 item_id=240996 zoom_org_id=204 zoom_item_id=240996 zoom_flag=Y zoom_alternate=EBOM current_rec=1 item_rev=A';
P_OVERRIDE_AGENT := NULL;
P_ORG_ID := NULL;
P_LANG_CODE := 'US';
P_ENCRYPTPARAMETERS := NULL;
The returned URL doesn't behave as expected: Though the form for respective alternate is displayed, the alternate field is empty and it isn't possible to select any field on the form, as following error message is displayed:
"APP-BOM-20087: This bill already exists. Please enter another alternate to create an alternate bill, or use Query Find to find an existing bill."
2. Trying to set query only mode for this form alway displays an empty "Find Bills" form, instead of the specified BOM in query only mode. I try to set this mode by the following:
P_PARAMETERS := 'org_id=204 item_id=240996 zoom_org_id=204 zoom_item_id=240996 zoom_flag=Y zoom_alternate=EBOM current_rec=1 item_rev=A query_only=YES';
Please, can anybody help me with this...

• API/package/procedure/function for updating physical attributes in Org/Mast

I need some kind of procedure or function for updating the weight, volume, and dimensions in the organization and master items forms. We have almost 350,000 items and I want to update them in batch. Is there an API of some kind for this? I would do a simple update but I want to make sure there's no additional logic necessary (other tables that are updated during the process of updating those fields, etc).
Thanks!

here is for API's you need to check...
You can use Decimal & UOM Quantity API
These APIs are used to handle item decimal quantities:
Convert from one UOM to another
Validate quantities at input time
Validate quantities at display/output time
Quantity Comparison
Get UOM information
For your convenience, I am giving you the API as below:
/*===========================================================================+
Copyright (c) 1999 Oracle Corporation
Redwood Shores, California, USA
All rights reserved.
+===========================================================================*/
/*-----------------------------------------------------------------------+
This package contains procedures relevent to item decimal quantity
processing. This package contains routines to:
(1)validate item quantities based on UOM and decimal precision rules
(2)validate whether the UOM controls and decimal precision rules
themselves are correct based on functionality planned. For reviewing
UOM and decimal quantity functional design details, please visit the
following URL:
"http//apps-us.oracle.com/inv/development/designs_120/
decimal_precision/decimal_precision.html"
But here are a few basics to give background context:

"Item Quantity" -- The item's quantity is described by the item
identifier, the unit of measure (e.g. grams, kilos, etc), and a
number value to indicate the amount in that unit of measure.

"Unit of Measure" -- Units of measure belong to unit of measure
classes(e.g. weight, volume, length, etc). Each unit of measure class
has actual units of measure that belong to that class (e.g. the
weight class may have units of measures like, "grams", "kilos", etc).

"UOM Conversion" --Users can set up conversion rates between UOMs in
them same UOM class, by defining conversions to the base UOM. These
are standard conversions. Item-level intra-class conversions may also
be defined. When doing intra-class conversions, item-level
intra-class conversions are used first if defined, and then standard
conversions are used.
Users can define inter-class conversions. Inter-class Conversions may
also be defined at the lot/sublot levels. For inter-class conversions
sublot, lot, and then item inter-class conversions will be used in
in order. If lot-lvel conversion is not defined, then item-level
conversion is used. A strict hierarchy is imposed.

"TU" -- Trasactable Unit.A UOM may have a TU. This implies
that when transacting in this UOM, any item's quantities will be
forced to be integer multiples of this TU quantity. The TU may also
be declared at the item level. The TU quantity at the item level may
be different from the UOM level TU, and if defined, item level TU
takes precedance.

"Decimal Precision"--Users have a choice of setting decimal precision
at the base UOM for each UOM class. All other UOMs in that class get
get their decimal precisions derived from the base UOM decimal
precision, the converison rate, and TUs, if they are
being used.

"Conversion Rate Tolerance" -- This is a tolerance that may be set
when conversion rate cannot be not strictly fixed. Example:
1 Chicken = 2 pounds (plus or minus 0.7 pounds). This 0.7 pounds is
the conversion rate tolerance. Conversion rate tolerance is only
definable at inter-class UOM conversions, at item or lot/sublot level

History
04/08/99 Mansoor Jafri Created Package Spec
04/26/99 Mansoor Jafri Updated with TU at 3 levels as
opposed to MTU at 2 and atomic at
UOM class level.
04/29/99 Mansoor Jafri Updated document with lot/sublot
conversions. Also, removed
"atomic" as a separate control,
since this can
implemented as a TU at base UOM
level with an integer quantity.
05/03/99 Mansoor Jafri Updated the package with sublot
level control. Also, changed name
of DTU to TU, so that it fits

• How To create Library Functions for Validate Items

Hi all,
My form Consists data block blk_user with two items
username and password
Both user name and Password are required Fields.
When user left these items Empty To show Alert
I Created Below Procedure and Called in Form_Level ON-ERROR Trigger.
PROCEDURE pcd_io_alert IS
         itm_name VARCHAR2(20);
BEGIN
         IF Error_type ='FRM' AND Error_code = 40202 THEN
         Message(get_item_property(NAME_IN('SYSTEM.CURSOR_item'), PROMPT_TEXT )||' Should
Not Be Empty');
         SET_ALERT_PROPERTY('ALT_IO',ALERT_MESSAGE_TEXT,
              (get_item_property(NAME_IN('SYSTEM.CURSOR_item'), PROMPT_TEXT ))||' Should Not
Be Empty');
         itm_name := Show_alert('ALT_IO');
RAISE FORM_TRIGGER_FAILURE;
         END IF;
END;
It working fine.
Could You Tell how to call or create this procedure as Library functions and call the created library in form To SHow Alert. Actually I want to create library functions to Validate and Show Alert Mesages.
Regards
R.MaheshBabu.

Hello,
Could you give Some examples or links related to how To create and call library functions For validate Items..For creation you already created one procedure and you called on error. So for creation and call it is clear. Now you are talking about validation for items. It depends on your requirement. As you check validation in items's triggers you can also check validation in function/procedure of library. You can use parameter to pass values and check the validations. And you can create the procedure/function in library like this...
PROCEDURE My_Proc(Parameter_Name IN DATATYPE) IS
      Variables Declarations...
BEGIN
      -- Here check the validation on the passed value.
EXCEPTION
      -- Exception Handling part...
END;
FUNCTION My_Proc(Parameter_Name IN DATATYPE) RETURN DATATYPE IS
      Variables Declarations...
BEGIN
      -- Here check the validation on the passed value.
      RETURN <ANY VALUE>;
EXCEPTION
      -- Exception Handling part...
END;
Is it Possible to use system variable ':system.cursor_value' while creating PL/sql library functions?Yes, because it is clear as you used for CURRENT_ITEM like NAME_IN('SYSTEM.CURSOR_item') so you can use SYSTEM VARIABLES.
