Coordinates of the browsable area

Hi,
I have a very long Flex application loaded inside a browser. When I create a Popup and give centerPopup it goes to the centre of the player which is not in the viewable area of the browser.
How do I move the focus to the popup?
How do I identify the coordinates of the area that I am currently viewing in the browser?
Regards
mxvx

Yes Flexharui.  We have embedded our application inside a weblogic portlet.
When the size of our application increases, we see 2 scroll bars, 1 is the flash players scroll bar and other is the browsers scroll bar.
We do not want to have 2 scroll bars, so using java script, we are setting the height of the flash player to avoid its scroll bar.

  • Inappropriate mouse event coordinates in the WebKit of HTMLLoader/StageWebView

    Hi,
    We have a desktp application which incorporates an HTMLRichTextEditor (implemented in HTML/JS and loaded into AIR).
    We have run into a big problem with text selection though. It seems that the both the HTMLLoader and the StageWebView are passing wrong mouse coordinates to the WebKit when the cursor is outside of the component.
    I've created a sample application which uses mx:HTML (which is a wrapper of the HTMLLoader) and a WebView class (a wrapper aroun StageWebView reference to which is given here).
    The application is located here in Dropbox. The source code of the app is here.
    The app was built with Flex 4.6 and ran in AIR 3.7
    The sample app has a WebView which loads loremipsum and HTML loading some dummy local HTML page. The HTML page uses the JS->AIR bridge to report the mouseevents to a function in AIR. In the snapshot below the selection was started from the first row and then slowly continued to the left. As soon as it reaches the green area the selection changes unexpectably. As it can be seen in the bottom right -> the WebKit has received a mouse event with incorrect coordinates. The reported mouse coordinates seem to be the mouse coordinates within the green component and the selection behaves like that. If the mouse is moved to the blue - the selection changes again (according to the coordinates in the blue area).
    The component which uses the StageWebView behaves in absolutely the same way.
    I'd assume that I have to post a bug but I decided to post here at first.
    I've tried a few workarounds in order to stop and ongoing selection or to change it's behaviour but none of them with any relevant success. Even disabling mouse children for the entire application has no effect on the selection once it's started.
    Any help and/or comments would be much appreciated.
    Thanks !

    Thank you for the heads up.  Do you know if this is a recent change in behavior with AIR (ie. does this occur in previous versions)?  Regardless, could you please open a new bug report on this over at bugbase.adobe.com?
    Once added, please post back with the URL so that others affected can add their comments and votes and I can follow up internally.

  • Content not lining up in the sidebar with the content located in the main area?

    Hello, I’ve created a website using Dreamweaver CS4 and have come across an issue while using a template. The template I’m using is: 2 column fixed, right sidebar, header and footer. The problem seems to be in the sidebar where the content does not start at the top, it seems to be about 15px below the content in the main area. I can't find any CSS or any reason why it's starts where it does. It seems to look like even and as it should in Firefox, Google Chrome and Safari but not in IE9. The page is live at www.Lots2Homes.com and you'll see the content is lower in the right sidebar than in the main area to the left. The code for the home page and CSS is below. This has me going in circles, any help or ideas would be much appreciated. Thanks!

    We’ve seen the effects of tight mortgage conditions over the last year. Existing and new homes sales have struggled and we are now left with sizable pent-up demand. Will this trend continue into 2012?<br />

      For starters, consumer prices fell in October, meaning low wage workers and others struggling to make ends meet will find more affordability...

  • A script that captures the coordinates of the mouse clicks and saves them into a file

    Hello,
    I'm trying to create a cartoon taking a movie (I've chosen blade runner) as base. I've got the real movie and I've exported all the pictures using VirtualDUB. Now I have a lot of images to modify. I would like to modify the actors faces with the faces generated by Facegen modeller. I'm thinking how to make the whole process automatic because I have a lot of images to manage. I've chosen to use Automate BPA,because it seems the best for this matter. I'm a newbie,so this is my first attempt using Adobe Photoshop and Automate BPA. I wrote a little script. It takes a face generated with Facegen modeller and tries to put it above the original actors faces. But it doesn't work very good and I'm not really satisfied,because the process is not fully automated. To save some time I need to write a script that captures the coordinates of the mouse when I click over the faces and that saves them into a file,so that Automate BPA can read these coordinates from that file and can put the face generated with Facegen Modeller above the original face. I think that Automate BPA is not good for this matter. I think that two coordinates are enough,X and Y. They can be the coordinates of the nose,because it is always in the middle of every face. It is relevant to knows how big should be the layer of the new face,too. This is the Automate BPA code that I wrote :

    and this is a short video to explain better what I want to do :
    http://www.flickr.com/photos/26687972@N03/5331705934/
    In the last scene of the video you will see the script asking to input the X and the Y coordinates of the nose. This request is time consuming. For this reason I want to write a script that captures automatically the coordinates of the mouse clicks. The only thing to do should be click over the nose and the script should make the rest. As "c.pfaffenbichler" suggested here : http://forums.adobe.com/thread/775219, I could explore 3 ways :
    1) use the Color Sampler Tool’s input with a conventional Photoshop Script.
    2) use After Effects would provide a better solution.
    3) Photoshop’s Animation Panel might also offer some easier way as it might be possible to load two movies (or one movie and one image) and animate the one with the rendered head in relation to the other.
    Since I'm a totally newbie in graphic and animation,could you help me to explore these ways ? Thanks for your cooperation.

    These are the coordinates of the contours of the face that you see on the picture. Can you explain to me how they are calculated ? The coordinates of the first colums are intuitive,but I'm not able to understand how are calculated the coordinates of the second one.
    Thanks.
    1 COL     2 COL (how are calculated these values ?)

  • How do I get the coordinates of the text block (TextFrame) help me please!

    Dim myApp As New Illustrator.Application
    Dim myDoc As Illustrator.Document
    myDoc = myApp.ActiveDocument
    Dim textRef = myDoc.TextFrames.Add
    For Each ArtPageItems In myDoc.PageItems
    If TypeName(ArtPageItems) = "TextFrame" Then
    '========It is necessary to obtain the coordinates of the text block and move closer to the object (ie the text)============
    Else
    End If
    Next

    Hi Todd, you're welcome, please explain better, I don't understand the question.
    are you trying to "move" a textframe (Dim textRef = myDoc.TextFrames.Add) closer to other text frames? or do you want to "zoom" to this textframe?

    Try calling SetCoordinates on the annotation's Caption property. This method lets you explicitly set the x and y coordinates of the caption.

  • Finding coordinate of the line?

    Here is my code. Here I make some drawing and transformation.
    I have problem finding the coordinate of the line after I have done some transformation on it.
    How should I code it so the program will let me know the start and end coordinate of the line once it's translated?
    In this case, I want to find the coordinate "d". Coordinate a, b and c are given. (Pliz compile and run to be clear with it).
    Thanks.

  • Query the coordinates of the viewing image.

    Hi,
    I'd like to ask if the following can be done.
    I've an image, the following as an example.
    Then in the photoshop, I zoomed in to view only an area of the image (part of the hill).
    Can I get the pixel coordinates of the four corners of the image currently showing on the Photoshop screen using script?
    I need draw a rectangle selection (of the visible image) over the full image on another program at the exact spot.
    Is this possible?
    Your help is greatly appreciated.
    Thank you.

    I have also never found a way to get a document window's size or position on the screen. You can get the current zoom and the position of the pixel that is at the center of view in the window if that would help you. Both of those are in the document's Action Descriptor.

  • Zoom the selected area in an image!!

    hi,
    can u solve ome more problem for me as u seem to be very comfortable in 2d.my problem is that once i'm able to zoom my image ,if i want to zoom it further either on mouse click or selecting a rectangle again on mousedrag,it throws an exception coz i'm not able to get either size or bofferedimage from the once zoomed image.
    do u have any suggestions:

    I think you are using the wrong drawimage method. If you have the selection retangle coordinates, you will need a method that draw this selection in a new retangle selection (your canvas or panel)
    Where goes my paintMethod:
    protected void paintComponent(Graphics g)
    g.drawImage(image, START_WINDOW_X, START_WINDOW_Y, WINDOW_X, WINDOW_Y, px1, py1, px2, py2, this);
    Take a look in the drawimage methods in the java web page. I think it will help.

  • Liquify (CS6) is fading the affected area

    When I use liquify under CS6 (not previous versions of Photoshop), the affected area (as defined by a bounding box) appears to be strangely faded if it had any alpha on it.
    Example: I make a smooth gradiant from full-alpha black to nothing. I then use liquify to make squiggles in the lower right. The result: a rectangular area defined by the squiggles is visibly lighter than the surrounding region.
    http://i45.photobucket.com/albums/f57/ADamiani/LiquifyProblem.png
    Seems to work fine if (but only if) the whole image is fully opaque.
    Not really sure what to do about this.

  • Mouse coordinates on the screen

    is it possible to get mouse coordinates on the screen? i want to make a program which makes screenshots of areas on the screen and i want use the mouse to mark them.
    how could i do that? is it possible to get mousecoordinates even if the mouse is outside the java JFrame?
    there must be a way! i searched in the forum but i found no answer.
    please don't tell me i have to use jni, the app should be platform independent.

    Yeah, basically there's no way to do this. This should be requested if it hasn't already (too lazy to check). It's not hard for sun to add, they just need to add it. Ok, anyway, I looked into it and see if there was a way to do this even somewhat reasonably in Java. I was very disappointed. I pretty much had no luck, but I did get a lame way of implementing this :P After some thought, this is what I ended up with:
    import java.awt.*;
    import java.awt.event.*;
    import javax.swing.*;
    public class MousePosition extends JFrame implements MouseMotionListener
        private int x = 0;
        private int y = 0;
        private boolean isAP = true;
        public MousePosition()
            setSize(300, 300);
            setLocation(200, 200);
            addMouseMotionListener(this);
            addMouseListener(new MouseAdapter()
                public void mousePressed(MouseEvent e)
                    isAP = false;
            setVisible(true);
            try
                Robot r = new Robot();
                r.mouseMove(getLocation().x + 50, getLocation().y + 50);
                r.mousePress(InputEvent.BUTTON1_MASK);
            } catch(AWTException e) {}
        public void mouseDragged(MouseEvent e)
            System.out.println(e.getX() + getLocation().x + ", " + (e.getY() + getLocation().y));
        public void mouseMoved(MouseEvent e) {}
        public static void main(String[] args)
            new MousePosition();
    }So it'll "lock" the program getting the absolute coordinates until you press the mouse, then you're free to do what you want. You could also do this with keyPressed or anything else you want. JNI would be the real solution as of now, until then I think sun should address the problem.

  • Retrieve coordinates of PDEElement which are in PDEForm

    Hello,
    I try to retrieve the coordonates of PDEElement using PDEElementGetBBox() and I have a problem while the PDEElements are defined in PDEForm which are defined in another PDEForm etc...
    Here is a summarize of my implementation :
    1. Retrieve PDEElement --> Check the type
    -- If PDEForm
    2. Retrieve the PDEElement --> Check the type
    -- If PDEForm
    3. Retrieve the PDEElement --> Check the type
    -- If PDEPath
    4. Retrieve the BBox Using PDEElementGetBBox. I also retrieve the Matrix of the Form using the PDEFormGetMatrix (using it I have the CMT).
    Then I apply the Form matrix to the BBox and normaly I must have the coordinates of my PDEElements.
    Unfortunately it does'nt work while the PDEForm have different BBox. I mean that the BBox have differents values and the llx and lly values are different than 0.
    So do you have to take into account the BBox to have the correct coordinates of the elements which are stored in Form?
    Thanks in advance,
    Joe
    Edit : Actually in my sample I retrieve the Form matrix at each level and concat them. It works but I guess I'm lucky because normally the last matrix is already the concatenation of all (but it isn't).
    Message was edited by: joeln3

    Aren't the element's BBox relative to the page, regardless of whether it's in a Form or not?
    If not, then you will need to follow the algorithm described in ISO 32000 on how to go from inside a form to page coordinates.

  • Feature Request: Javascript libraries of which the versions are in better control

    This essentially aimed at the developpers:
    Anyone who browsed with noscript, or used ghostery, knows the web is full of javascript. These are often downloaded from separate websites.(for no apparent reason, they can easily be hosted locally) This is a bad thing:
    * Accessing these gives the the http-referrer(presumably) so it indicates someone where you are browsing.(though other resources do this too)
    * Javascript is nowhere as secure as html in terms of potential weaknesses.
    * Javascript is -plainly- designed to have access to the web page, or the current url.
    * These are often accessed via http, it could be spoofed to return a different
    * The servers it came from can outright change it at any point, and the user has little control, even if the javascript source code unobfuscated, there is no time to do so as it is in the hands of the users immediately.
    For this reason i suggest implementing a library(package system) for these javascripts, of which the packages are signed, and the user controls when they are updated. It should be easy to use and add these libraries for developpers, preferably, additional people can attest they read the source code and approve of it.
    Well, to be honest, i cannot really suggest entirely how to do it, i just dont know enough. And it has to be entirely transparent to users, at least. Some kind system that detects that people have checked the source code, and/or a default time duration.(depending on the package)
    Of course this has to be coordinated with other browsers/standards creation. This sounds hard and it seems like you're already doing a really good job at it.(And at developping FF in general)

    Hi Jasper, to give a specific example, if Firefox were to find a site using a particular version of jQuery then it would instead use a pre-validated copy of that library from a trusted site or from the Firefox program folder?
    I think this would be a complex project, but perhaps an extension developer would consider building it, at least to demonstrate how it could be done?
    This forum is like an emergency room so your suggest may get lost here. You can submit a version to the Input site (Help > Submit Feedback connects you) or on a Mozilla mailing list. Not sure which one would be right for this idea, but you could take a look here: [https://lists.mozilla.org/].

  • Opening PDF files using preview on some PDF file result in the content not displaying properly. The file I tried to look at has pictures and text. The pictures are displayed ok but the text is shown as pixalated boxes. The same file opens ok via a PC.

    Solutions please. Accessing PDF files online using preview normally works ok. However there are a clutch of files on the mothers union web site that although can be opened, present text as pixalated boxes. The pictures contained in the documents are however displayed OK. I experience the same problem on my Imac and my wifes laptop that runs Lion. The same site has other PDF files that can be opend OK. If I access the same problem files using a PC laptop running microsoft windows, they are opened OK with the text displayed as it should be. This is driving me mad....

    The offending PDF files were created using word
    Yes. Word 2007. (You can see it in Preview if you do ⌘I or choose Tools > Show Inspector.) And it's the transparency issue. The three pics attached show the Jan 2012 newsletter (a) in Preview, (b) in Acrobat Pro, (c) again in Preview, after I saved it in Acrobat, flattening the transparency.
    For you, the solution is to use Adobe Reader -- with due note taken of
    <http://www.adobe.com/support/security/bulletins/apsb12-01.html>
    For them, I don't know. Presumably, they wish max compatibility for their newsletter, but I really don't know how Office 2007 generates PDF. Maybe they should check transparency settings and flatten before generating PDF? Or perhaps save as PDF v1.4 instead of PDF v1.5? I would use Distiller, but perhaps they can't afford it.

  • I've imported from a video camera and the files on the laptop are not playing the sound, is there any way to retrieve it?

    I have just uploaded a large number of files from a panasonic video camera on to imovie. I have never had this problem in the past, but when I try to play back the files on my laptop there is no sound. I have tried increasing the sound and normalising via the audio settings, and the sound is playing fine on the video camera. Is there anything I can do?

    I have also checked that the files are MOV not MPEG etc
