Core generated by java process when using TT jdbc connector

Hi everyone,
First I have been looking for similar issues in this forum and nothing I have found is conslussive regarding the problem I am about to tell you.
I have a java DB client running in a Solaris 8 machine and since about a month we have had our process killed because java was receiving a SIGSEGV signal.
It is very strange and I do not seem to be able to understand what is going on. Let me give you more data about the problem I am having.

Well, it looks like something in the Java layer is passing a bad handle to the TimesTen client ODBC driver SQLFreeEnv() function. Given the implementation of the TT JDBC driver this is quite possibly a bug in the JDBC driver though it is also possible that it is due to some invalid value passed in from a higher layer.
If the situation is easily and consistently reproducible then seeing the code that causes the problem would be very useful. If not then this wil be hard to debug. I'd suggest that you open an SR with support but of course 5.1 is now well outside its support window so...

  • Please Help me on BI Java SDK using BI JDBC Connector

    Hi, I'm new to sap BI Java SDK. I'm not getting how to get the primarykey columns, using BI JDBC Connector (for relational data sources). If anybody knows, please let me know. its very very urgent task to be done in my project. In the below following code.... I have written a code to connect to the database through resource bundle, reading table names, once user select table name, i need to show the primary key columns of that table to the user. here i'm not getting how to get the primary key columns . Please send me the code if there is any method to find out the primarykey columns or a logic to get them. I will be greatful to you.... if you can do this favour. Please check out the following code ........
    ManagedConnectionFactory mcf;
    IConnectionFactory cf;
    IConnectionSpec cs;
    mcf = new JdbcManagedConnectionFactory();
    cf = (IConnectionFactory) mcf.createConnectionFactory();
    cs = cf.getConnectionSpec();
    ResourceBundle rbLocal = ResourceBundle.getBundle( "xxxx");
    Enumeration propnames = rbLocal.getKeys();
    while (propnames.hasMoreElements())
    String key = (String) propnames.nextElement(); //out.print(key); //out.println("="rbLocal.getString(key)"");
    cs.setPropertyValue(key, rbLocal.getString(key));
    // Establishing the connection. // The IBIRelational interface provides an entrypoint to access // metadata and execute queries.
    IBIConnection connection = (IBIConnection) cf.getConnectionEx(cs);
    IBIRelational rel = connection.getRelational();
    IBIQuery query = rel.createQuery();
    String sqlStatement = "SELECT * FROM " + "BICQPERSON where type='pk'"; ResultSet rs = IBIDataSet dataset = query.execute();
    Thanks SreeKanth

    Well, I added two lines in OC4J.cmd
    set ORACLE_HOME=C:\OC4J\oc4j_extended_101350
    set JAVA_HOME=C:\JAVA\JDK7u7
    before
    set J2EE_HOME=%ORACLE_HOME%\j2ee\home
    and I restarted the windows. It looks try to run OC4J but failed, as I open services window, it shows OC4J is "stopping". When I try to run it manually, I got the same problem again. is there anything I missed? What is your OC4J, JDK and javaservice version?

  • Increasing memory used by java process when calling Runtime.exec()

    Hi everyone!
    I'm running a servlet Oracle iAS 9i, Jserv. It receives an image posted by a user and does a System.exec() which performs a call to convert (an image processing utility included in ImageMagick).
    After a few hours, java process start taking more and more RAM, until it crashes with an error like this:
    Memory: 5394008 free of 134217728 total. (I log this myself)
    Exception: java.io.IOException: Not enough space
    java.lang.UNIXProcess.forkAndExec(), line -2.
    java.lang.UNIXProcess.<init>(), line 54.
    java.lang.Runtime.execInternal(), line -2.
    java.lang.Runtime.exec(), line 553.
    ImageProcessor.convert(), line 235.
    ImageProcessor.createItemPics(), line 124.
    Uploader.doPost(), line 69.
    As you can see, this is not an OutOfMemoryError, but something else in connection with O/S.
    This is not related to hard disk space, since there is a lot of free space in every filesystems
    After restarting the webserver, everything goes back to normal and start increasing RAM again.
    Is there anything I can do? Any help will be gratly appreciated... Thanks!!!
    Dani.-

    Have you had any solutions to this pal?
    I am also suffering. I tried closing the processes by:
    Runtime runtime = Runtime.getRuntime();
    Process proc = runtime.exec("/opt/sta_rpms.sh " + sFileName);
    proc.waitFor();
    proc.getInputStream().close();
    proc.getOutputStream().close();
    proc.getErrorStream().close();
    proc.destroy();
    proc = null;
    but still after like a day...Though our codes are not alike, it sounds like the same reason.
    Cheers!

  • SQL Developer 3.2 crashes with java error when using OCI/Thick Driver

    I just installed SQL Developer 3.2 on my linux desktop. SQL Developer crashes with a java error when I select a database from the object tree.
    When I check Use OCI/Thick driver the application will crash when I navigate to the tree and open a database.
    The app does not crash then I have Use OCI/Thick driver unchecked.
    Here are some details of my environment:

    I also had the problem of SQL Developer crashing when using OCI/Thick driver but I've managed to solve it. My configuration is:
    - Windows 64-bit
    - Java 64-bit (1.6.0.34)
    - SQL Developer 3.2.09 64-bit
    - OCI Instant client 11.2.0.3 64-bit (without installation).
    The thing that solved the problem was copying two files, ojdbc5.jar and ojdbc6.jar, from Instant client installation folder to JAVA_HOME/lib/ext folder+.
    After that, I haven't had a single crash or error message.
    The same trick that solved the problem on 64-bit installation also solved the problem on another windows computer with 32-bit SQL Developer installation.

  • Problems with the ActiveX bridge for Java beans when using third-party .jar

    I encountered the following problem when using the ActiveX bridge for a java bean:
    I am using JDK 1.4.2_09 and MS Visual Basic 6.0 (SP6). I wrote a java bean called ProcessViewer (my class ProcessViewer inherits from JComponent and implements the interfaces Serializable and AdjustmentListener) which I would like to use within a VB 6.0 application. I used the ActiveX bridge (packager.exe) to generate a DLL (ProcessViewer.dll) and registered it successfully. The java bean GUI-control works fine within my VB 6.0 application unless my java bean (ProcessViewer.jar) uses any third-party .jar files.
    But when I tried to add a reference to some third-party class (com.sap.xxx.xxx....) I got some problems. I could solve the problem with packager.exe by setting the correct CLASSPATH. But at runtime my VB 6.0 application does not work. It crashes or it reports an error like this: "The control ... could not be loaded from axbridge.dll" (although I deployed my .jar file correctly to the directory C:\Programme\Java\j2re1.4.2_09\axbridge\bin and lib). Setting the CLASSPATH environment variable before calling my VB 6.0 application (exe) did not solve the problem.
    How can I teach my VB 6.0 application (containing the Java bean ActiveX control) where to find the third-party .jar file? Copying the third-party .jar file to the JRE lib-folder or to the axbridge\lib folder did not solve the problem either.
    I studied the documentation about the ActiveX bridge given at:
    http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.4.2/docs/guide/beans/axbridge/developerguide/index.html
    but I am missing informations on how the third-party .jar files can be found during runtime of the ActiveX container (e. g. a VB 6.0 application).

  • OOM Killer is killing the Java processes without using the swap?

    Hi All,
    We are using RHEL 5 64 bit on blade server CISCO UCS B230-M2.
    Below is the memory details on the server. I could see from the sar -r command it did not used the swap memory at all but it calls the OOM killer everyday.
    su@ /root-> free -g
                 total       used       free     shared    buffers     cached
    Mem:           125        119          5          0          2         81
    -/+ buffers/cache:         35         89
    Swap:          251          0        251
    The issue is occuring every day and doesnt allow any user to connect to the server in that perticular time, After some time we could see the below messages in /var/log/messages and once the java processes are getting killed it allow the new telnet connections.
    Any help on this is much appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Sachin.

    It looks like you experience low memory exhaustion. The kernel uses low memory to track allocations of all memory and the more memory you have, the more low memory will have to be allocated. When low memory is exhausted, it doesn't matter how much high memory is available, the oom-killer will begin killing processes to keep the server alive. There are a number of bug reports and patches available regarding this problem affecting Enterprise Linux kernels 4.4 - 4.8. Other solutions are to move to a 64-bit kernel or use 32-bit hugemem. Are you running NFS?
    Perhaps you might want to try the following:
    # cat /proc/sys/vm/lower_zone_protection
    You can try to increase the value and see what happens:
    # echo "250" > /proc/sys/vm/lower_zone_protection
    To set this option on boot, add the following to /etc/sysctl.conf:
    vm.lower_zone_protection = 250
    As a last resort effort, you can disable the oom-killer. This option can cause the server to hang, so use it at your own risk.
    Check status of oom-killer:
    # cat /proc/sys/vm/oom-kill
    Turn oom-killer off/on:
    # echo "0" > /proc/sys/vm/oom-kill
    # echo "1" > /proc/sys/vm/oom-kill

    They each seem to point to some degree or another to using Versioning, but I've gotten those errors whether the "Use Delta Versioning..." checkbox is checked or unchecked.  I do have the standard versioning settings set in the IMG, the standard delivered settings.  And it's referencing the same file, _groupManProps.txt, that doesn't exist in any of the packages I've tried to publish/check-in.  I've tried both AICC and SCORM content and I get the same errors.
    We have an ECC6 system on EHP5, and using Authoring Environment version LSOAE09_0-10006103.
    I'm running the Authoring Environment on a 64-bit Windows 7 PC.
    I've tried to publish/check-in with the following versions of the Java SDK:
    1.4.2 Update 13
    1.4.2 Update 19 (the latest in 1.4.2 with a Windows installer available)
    6 Update 14 (a colleague is using this version successfully with the AE)
    6 Update 23
    Each of those were the 32-bit versions after trying a 64-bit version of one (based on my PC's OS) and getting an unrelated 64-bit error.
    I would appreciate any experience or wisdom any other users here have to share.
    Thanks!

    It was an adjustment we made on our ISA 2006 server. Under
    1. Open Array - Configurarion - General
    2. Select Additional Security Policy - Configure Flood Mitigation
    3. On the Flood Mitigations Tab, there are a number of flood mitigation settings that can be configured.
    The setting we had to adjust is under the "Maximum HTTP requests per minute per IP address (Click on Edit)
    Increase the  "Limit:"  setting. We set it to 1500 which resolved our problem.
    4. Apply the policy and wait for the configuration to be updated on all array members ( may take several minutes)

  • REDIRECT JDBC URL WHEN USING DYNAMIC JDBC CREDENTIALS SO NOT HARDCODED

    I have taken over an application that uses row-level security and ADF (using
    dynamic JDBC Credentials). I have been able to set the internal_connection to
    a JDBCDatasource, but cannot set the Connection Type in the Oracle Business
    Component Configuration to a JDBCDatasource. When I do, I receive errors that
    tables are not found. When I set the value back to a JDBC URL, everything
    works fine again.
    I am looking for a solution where the userid and password are not hardcoded in
    the BC4J.xcfg or a way to redirect this information, as we change our system
    passwords every nighty days. Otherwise, I will have to redeploy the
    application every nighty days.
    I did not create this application, but I am sure that you could simply follow
    the "How to Support Dynamic JDBC Credentials" article. From that point, you
    will probably be where I am, where I have the internal_connection set to a
    JDBCDataSource and working properly, but cannot set the Connection Type to
    anything where the userid and password will not be hardcoded or cause failure.
    I wanted to let you know that I have
    found the updated How to Support Dynamic JDBC Credentials
    (http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/jdev/howtos/bc4j/howto_dynamic_jdbc.h
    tml) and was going to run through the "Advanced: Supporting Dynamic JDBC URLs",
    but once I was done keying in
    env.remove(ConnectionStrategy.DB_CONNECT_STRING_PROPERTY); I received a
    depreciation message on the DB_CONNECT_STRING_PROPERTY. (Note: I am coding in
    JDeveloper 10.1.3, so this may be depreciated as of then, but the ADF Libraries
    for JDeveloper 10.1.3 are on our Oracle 10gAS 10.1.2 server.)
    I thought maybe this would resolve my issue, but I can't be sure as the
    deprecation message leads me to believe that this solution may not be viable in
    the future.
    UPDATE
    =======
    The article you are referencing is definitely an older version.
    There is a newer article for 10g at:
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/jdev/howtos/10g/dynamicjdbchowto.html
    Please see if that helps.
    I have already reviewed this article.
    In fact, I have reviewed many versions of this document. I have not seen one
    created yet for 10.1.3 though (especially without JSF as our 10.1.2 AS server
    will not support it). I need to find an example or documentation that shows
    how we can keep from having the JDBC URL stored in the BC4J.xcfg or a way to
    use dynamic JDBC credentials with a JDBCDataSource. We do not want to store
    the userid and password in the application, rather, we would like to setup
    something that can be configurable from the application server.
    I think we need to use the dynamic JDBC credentials because we are using the
    row-level security, where we setup a database context for the user and only
    allow certain records of a database table to be returned to the browser based
    on that context.
    Might there be a way to still use the JDBCDataSource?

    I understand that the user provides the userid and password and that these values are setup using the Configuration class.
    However, when I am to deploy the ADF Business Module with my application, I have to specify either a JDBC URL or a JDBC DataSource in the Oracle Business Component Configuration.
    When I use JDBC DataSource, the code does not work properly, almost like the user's credentials are not used for the connection (I get errors like table or view does not exist).
    When I use the JDBC URL, the bc4j.xcfg stores a reference in the JDBCName attribute to a ConnectionDefinition in the same file. It is in this tag of the bc4j.xcfg where the userid, sid, and password (encrypted) is stored and used when retrieving the initial context of the ADF business components.
    It is these values that I want to have stored else where so that the application does not have to be redeployed in order for the password (or sid, or other connection information) to be change.

    Dear Martin,
    It may be just an authorization message to objects that doesn't need to be accessed at runtime and in this case I would suggest you to test assigning all authorizations needed at least once for isolating
    purpose.
    You can also apply the latest patch for "EP-PSERV" component which will ensure you do have all fixes for known issues in your support package level.
    Hope the above information should be helpful.
    Best Regards,
    Deepak..

  • Java Errors when using my Java App via Remote Desktop

    I have a Java App that runs fine if I invoke it and run it on a windows xp machine "x".
    If I remote desktop connect to machine "x" from another windows machine "y"
    I get the errors and the Java App is not displayed correctly. It becomes unusable.
    While remotely connected if I terminate the Java App and restart it the App
    will run just fine and not generate any errors.
    Specifically the steps are:
    Open a cygwin shell.
    invoke the app...java -jar xxx.jar
    use the app on the machine, works fine without any exceptions.
    Leave the app running and go home...eat dinner...then
    VPN into the office
    Startup Windows Remote Desktop to the pc running the app.
    Start to use the app. Now the exception occur as I click on buttons/enter data into fields.
    Then I terminate the App.
    Then I restart the app... java -jar xxx.jar
    It works fine without exceptions.
    This app was developed using NetBeans 6.5

  • Memory Leak and 100% CPU in slapd process when using Open Directory OS X 10.8.5

    Has anyone seen the slapd (LDAP daemon from OpenLDAP which OS X Server uses) run away when running Open Directory? We've tried disabling replication but it doesn't seem to matter. The slapd process will start up and take up about 400MB and then at night will consume all the available memory and crashing the server.
    Any thoughts? Any benefit in upgrading to Mavericks' Server app?
    Thanks,
    John

    Found this in opendirectory.log which seems to just show ldap requests starting to slow down.

    The deadlock from what I can tell is a more of a warning from OpenLDAP, but it is a common pattern and occurring every few minutes.
    Not much useful in slapconfig.log.
    Any insights? Thanks so much.

  • Screen sequence processing when using modal dialog box

    I have been struggling with a dialog program which I have written.  I have a screen which has 2 radiobuttons and a check box (screen 100).  If the checkbox is marked, a modal dialog screen pops up (screen  150).  If I complete both input fields on  screen 150, I can go through to screen 200, then back out of screen 200 to screen 100, and then I can back out 100 to screen 0.
    The problem I have is the validation I have put in screen 150 if one or both input fields have no values or if I want to exit screen 150.  If I exit screen 150, in order to get back to screen 100 in the main screen I need to do CALL SCREEN 100 as if I use SET SCREEN 100, 100 then appears in my modal dialog box screen.
    If I try to back out of screen 100 to screen 0, the program then brings up screen 150 in the PAI part of the module and then go to screen 0 when I close screen 150 even though I have coded SET SCREEN 0. LEAVE SCREEN. in the user command module of screen 100.  Here is my code:

    Any suggestions or pointers would be greatly appreciated as I am going round in circles.
    Thanks
    Larissa

    Have got around this by removing the references to SET SCREEN 150.  This way, I can get around the screen sequencing.  It just means that I cannot keep my screen 150 in view if a validation message occurs but for now it will do for what I need.
    Thank you for your help anyway.

  • Java error when using Query Builder

    Hi Everyone,
    I'm new to Publisher and I have an issue when I build a SQL Query Data Set. I have tried both the Default and Oracle OBIEE data sources. I am able to select my fields, etc but when I got to test results I get the following error:
    java.io.IOException: prepare query failed[nQSError: 27002] Near <->: Syntax error [nQSError: 26012]
    I've looked at the sql and it looks fine to me. I found one posting on here about the jdbc connection but I tested that under the Admin page and the OBIEE jdbc data source tests just fine.
    Any idea what I'm missing?
    Thanks
    Richard

    There is apparently no solution to this issue. Worse, it exists still in 10gR2.
    I suspect the Oracle*Reports developers do not use tables having constraints and that they do not read the many reports of it on this forum.
