Correlated Update ANSI style

Want to rewrite:
Update table fred
set description = ( select description from detail_table
where fred.type_col = detail.type_col )
Into ansi style ie. using 'join x on ' syntax how is it done?

That will only work if you can satisfy oracle that you are key-preserving the joinTrue.
But the same general problem applies to correlated updates and merge. If the correlated subquery returns multiple rows, you'll get the "single row subquery" error. If merge finds multiple rows in the using table, you'll get the "stable set of rows" error.
One advantage to updatable views is that Oracle will throw the exception immediately (which is good if you're about to update a few million rows).
But I agree that updatable views don't often work because of the key preserved problem.
There have been several times I've tried them, but no go.

Anyone found out how to update table styles in the new Pages? I see it's done in some of the templates that Apple provided, but I can't find it. Also, the Copy table style command is gone, so I can't make my tables look in a uniform way, unless I use one of the built-in styles.

How to Get Contribute CS4 to Update Available Styles when CSS is Updated

I am using a style sheet on my website. I recently updated the style sheet, adding a new style, in Dreamweaver. When I go into Contribute, the style is not showing up.
How can I force Contribute to get the updated data from the latest version of the CSS?
I have about 8 people using Contribute to edit a site and I desperately need them to be able to see the new styles.

Hi,
The CSS you are defining are CSS classes right, not the ID? That is, in your CSS file, you are defining the new styles using the '.' symbol. If so, then can you ask your users to refresh the web page they want to edit (browse to the web page, right click to bring up the context menu and click Refresh menu item).
Now, they can edit the web page, and the new styles would be displayed in the Styles menu. If that did not resolve the issue, can you ask them to recreate the connection to the website (remove the website connection and creating it again), or, quit and launch Contribute and click Connect button to connect to the website.
If the new style is defined using '#' symbol, I don't think Contribute will display these styles.

Global correlation update

Hi,
Will the IPS go offline during a global correlation update? We are running sensor version 7.1.(7)E4 and are noticing drops due to the IPS being unavailable. The timing of theses matches global correlation updates on the IPS.

We are receiving the following log entry when global correlation updates.
%ASA-3-420001: IPS card not up and fail-close mode used, dropping TCP packet from InterfaceA:x.x.x.x/xx to InterfaceB:y.y.y.y/yy

A global correlation update failed: ExecLoadCollabUpdate control transaction failed: Control transaction cannot be completed at this time
is any one aware about this error? is it major issue and affecting IPS? I think this is because correlation update failure. Please let me know if any one has more information on this error

Whenever a global correlation update fails, an evError event is generated. The error message is included in sensor statistics. The following conditions result in a status message with the severity of Error:
•The sensor is unlicensed
•No DNS or HTTP proxy server is configured
•The manifest exchange failed
•An update file download failed
•Applying or committing the update failed

Configure "Query Builder" for Theta-Style Joins over ANSI-Style Joins

Can SQL Developer be configured to auto generate theta-style joins instead of ANSI-style joins when building queries? This happens when I generate a query using the Query Builder and then switch over to the Worksheet tab to see the SQL code.
Sample code:
Theta-style join syntax uses commas to separate multiple table names and creates the joins in the Where clause:
SELECT c.name
FROM instructors i, courses c
WHERE i.firstname = 'Mary' AND i.lastname = 'Williams'
AND i.course_id = c.course_id;
ANSI syntax uses the JOIN and ON keywords instead:
SELECT c.name
FROM instructors i JOIN courses c
ON i.course_id = c.course_id
WHERE i.firstname = 'Mary' AND i.lastname = 'Williams';

There is no preference for configuring this that I know of, but Query Builder is fairly clever about detecting your flavor of SQL from the worksheet then sticking with it. If you design it graphically, the default flavor is ANSI, but QB seems to respect any worksheet edits that switch it to another flavor. I wouldn't vouch for that absolutely, but perhaps it's behavior you can take advantage of.

Problem updating graphic styles specs, after scaling illustrator image

Hello there,
I'm designing a map in Illy and have created graphic styles for the various route keys I use.
After recording the styles, I've enlarged the map, so the specs for all the styles has changed to a greater value (stroke width etc.)
I've tried to update the graphic styles by selecting the enlarged stroke and saving it as a new style.
But when I try to apply it, the style button still applies the original stroke width, from before I enlarged the image.
The graphic styles window won't forget the old styles!
How do I get round this? Thanks for your help.

If you scale strokes which are based on graphic styles, the original parameters of the styles are not changed. What actually happens is a kind of internal transformation which is indicated at the bottom of the Appearance Palette as a scaling percentage.
To do what you want, just select one of the scaled strokes, release it from the style definition and then redefine the style based on that stroke.

Question on correlated update

Greeting gurus. I expect the following demo will get id populated as 1.2.3.....100 but its all 1. why or why not working ?

Table ynot has 100 different values for sd (today +1 to today +100)
The subquery asks for rows
from ynot yy where xx.sd = yy.sd
There can only be one row from ynot where sd matches the value in the current xx.sd, so the subquery only finds one row.
E.g. when updating the row where sd = sysdate + 50 the correlation value xx.sd is sysdate + 50 and there is only one row with that value, so the
row_number() over (partition by null order by sd )
is counting rows from a set of 1 rows, which is why it always gives 1 as the result.
You seem to be expecting the analytic clause to look outside the subquery, but it can't do that.
One way to do what I think you want to do is via a merge:
merge into YNOT dst
using (select rowid rid, row_number() over (partition by null order by sd ) rnum from ynot) src
on ( dst.rowid = src.rid )
when matched then update set id = src.rnum

How do I update paragraph style universally?

I have a 68 page document to which a paragraph style has been applied to each page. I changed the font for the paragra[h style and it's not updating. I have to go page by page and do a clear overrides and then reapply the style. There has GOT to be an easier way, but I can't for the life of me figure out how. Any ideas what I'm doing wrong? THanks!

Search the particular paragraph style and replace with the same style with Find/Replace window.

Lollipop update and Style Cover Window SCR24

Hi. Yesterday, after updating my Z3 onto Android Lollipop, I cannot use my phone's Style Cover Window SCR24's window for answering calls, disabling alarms etc. Touch window just doesn't function anymore. Hi. Smart cover window IS visible when closed. I can see weather info, camera icon etc. Everything is exactly the same as in KitKat, but when someone calls, I cannot answer/reject thru the window. Touch just doesn't function.Screenshots:
Touch is completely dead in smart cover window and absolutely no events work.I use a Pattern screen lock, but touch also doesn't function with Swipe or no screen lock.I only have myself and Guest listed under Users & profiles.With best regards.

running this script gives me the followinf response from the server:

ERROR at line 2:
ORA-01722: invalid number
What is happening here? Both the columns are of the same type. (varchar2) and the data inside the columns is the same.

I'd say that Oracle is converting one of VARCHAR2's into a NUMBER - and is having trouble.
Why Oracle is doing that is a good question. A DESCRIBE of the two tables would be helpful to understand why.

Premiere Elements 12.1 Update and Known Expert View Styles Issue

The other day Adobe released the Premiere Elements 12.1 Update and encourgaged its use by all. However, little was cited for what the 12.1 Update was supposed to be fixing in Premiere Elements 12, other than "stability and performance" matters.
This morning I was working with Styles in the Expert workspace of Premiere Elements 12.1 and did not run into any problem creating the titles with text and Styles.
Before the 12.1 Update, editing Styles ran into problems in the Expert workspace that forced the user to toggle between Expert and Quick to get the text Style re-editing done.
Please check this out and let us know if you found the same.
If possible, in this thread perhaps each might contribute positive differences, if any, found in updating Premiere Elements 12 to 12.1.
So far, looking good for text with Styles, opening and closing the Tilter in the Expert workspace as well as saving closing reopening the project to the Expert workspace and editing the text Styles.

Update Styles not working, select all uses of style missing

Two more things tha I use often are missing from 5.0.
1. If you want to select all uses of a heading and then change attributes, it seems that you cannot.
2 When a style appears with a asterisk it means there is an override and you have the option to click on Update Style. Doesn't work.
Okay, so three useful things absent in 5.0 and they bugged me in the first 10 minutes (counting the missing Outline View). Otherwise it looks like a fabulous and simplified update.
One of th best additions is that Comments now track between the Desktop and iPad. Yayee! I don't have to use foot notes any more.

I would like to see "select all uses of style" make a comeback. That was an easy way to delete things quickly.
For #1, you can change attributes for one instance of the heading and then update the style. This will apply the changes to all instances of the heading. Which leads to...

Mac Word Styles - Cancel a style update?

I used to have two font colors (One for Class Notes; One for Book Notes) in a document in Word 2008; now it updated to one color from styles...Is there a way to cancel the update to Styles and go back to the two original font colors??

Unfortunately, all of the text was under "No Spacing," so when it changed the font color, it changed it for all text. Basically, I just changed the color on the fly by clicking the font color button. So, I'm thinking that once it updated to match a color style, I'm out of luck and the document doesn't remember what characters were blue and which were black.
